Personal Description:
I have two children, one is now graduated university and the second is in their final year.

When I have free time, I like to go to the cinema and play badminton. I also like travelling and discovering different parts of the world.

Teaching Experience:

I have more than twelve years experience of teaching which spans nursery, foundation, primary and 11-19.

I am presently second in charge in science at a secondary school and I teach chemistry, biology and physics across KS3 and KS4.

I have passed a Chemistry postgraduate course. This has improved my subject knowledge to be able to teach chemistry to 'A' level. I also can teach biology to 'A' level.

Tutoring Approach:

Before I begin to tutor, I will assess what level you are currently working at. I will also speak to you in depth about what you do and do not understand about a topic.

I will then take you through the topic at a pace that you feel comfortable at. You will be set homework to test your understanding. In preparation for exams, you will be given ideas for revision that will help your style in learning and pass papers to prepare for exam format.

Your contribution to what you need is important and you are invited to express what help and topics you feel you need to cover. As a tutor I am here to help you succeed.

Personal Description:
I began studying Spanish at the age of 13. Although I had a passion for Spain and it's country since I was 9. I achieved O'level and A'level Spanish and then went on to Wolverhampton University to Study a Diploma in Languages and Business Studies in Spanish and Russian.

Teaching Experience:

I began Spanish tuition over 30 years ago. I now have my own Spanish Tuition Business where I tailor Spanish Tuition courses to suit the individual and at a pace conducive to successful learning. Two years ago I worked with the BBC on their Spanish learning programmes for key stage 3 and 4.

Tutoring Approach:

I cater for visual (learn by seeing), auditory (learn by hearing) and kinesthetic (learn by doing) learners and, in general, I find it beneficial to incorporate all of these learning approaches into a typical Spanish tuition lesson to keep it interesting and engaging.

A teacher should have the ability to identify the needs of a student and to plan and design a course pertinent to that student. A teacher should be able to recognize learning styles and adapt their teaching accordingly in order to deliver and facilitate learning. A teacher needs to assess his or her students in order to ascertain their knowledge gained and give constructive and developmental feedback. Above al, the most important quality is a student must feel free to approach the tutor with confidence and ask any question. It's easy to teach, the test is whether they have learnt. A good sense of humor is essential, no one learns when they are unhappy.

Personal Description:
As a British Chinese, I spent my childhood in China until I was 11 when my family moved to London. I found the pace of study of mathematics at my state school to be too slow for my curiosity. From the age of 12, I self-taught mathematics until university. During this period, I completed my GCSE maths with A* at the age of 12, A-level maths at 14 with a score of 599/600, A-level further maths at 16. For A-level studies, I completed 7 A-levels (Maths, Further Maths, Music, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies) and AS-level in ICT, all at my inner city state school. I went on to study Mathematics at Imperial College, graduated with first class honours and my final year exam results ranked first in my year - it is something I aim to teach my students.

I worked for a number of years for a finance firm in the City of London. At the same time, I have been tutoring since I was 18. My tutoring spread through recommendations, and I still have a number of long term tutees. I have always found tutoring to be most satisfying and fulfilling, especially when I witness students' progress from bafflement to appreciation, and eventually achieving their aspirations. Now I have decided to become a dedicated full time professional tutor, and has been doing so for last three years.

Teaching Experience:

I have done a great deal of one-to-one maths tuitions, more than 60 students over the last ten years and more than 5000 hours. Almost all the tuition is in mathematics, although sometimes I also help with sciences at the same time. Most of my previous students have been introduced to me by way of recommendation, a few found me from uktutors site, I have not had the need to advertise else where. I have tutored maths at GCSE, A-level, and also tutored Further Maths. All my students have done very well in their maths exams, so far all A's and A*'s, they have had offers and gone to top universities, including: Oxford, UCL, KCL, Warwick, Cardiff.

Past student / parents references are available upon request, in fact most of them would be happy to speak to you. And I will forward as many references as you reasonably require. I also have a long list of previous student highlights, too long to put here, but available upon request.

New from this academic year 2015, I also offer grade A guarantee for A level maths, with reimbursement if the guarantee is not met. I take pride and responsibility for my student's grades! Probably more than they do!

My teaching experience started from myself, as I self-taught maths until university. In order to master my subject by myself, I read many text books and assimilate the best ideas and methods of each. In the end, I summarized the best methods, which are often starkly intuitive and widely applicable. With these unique methods, a focus on deep intuitions and my own enthusiasm, the passion I have for maths is often transferred to my tutees. I am also of the philosophy that if a topic does not feel easy for a tutee, then that is my problem, not theirs. Then I would strive to find a better way to allow my tutees to understand the topic as I do, and feel as easy as I do.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach is one of efficiency and clarity. Efficiency and clarity means that I will be able to cover a vast amount of material in a short period of time, while not sacrificing clarity and understanding for my pupils. Students are required to learn most of the methods available for any topic. Where possible, I will emphasize the why something works the way it does as well as how to use it. All these are to help pupils to develop a deep understanding and appreciation for the subject, as well as best equip them for exams. All these can still be achieved efficiently and at speed! My pupils are usually surprised at how much we can cover and how well they can understand something at such speed. The efficiency and clarity can be achieved because I make it my goal to deliver the clearest ideas to my students as efficiently as possible. This is what I spend time doing when I am not tutoring. Along the way my students will benefit from many new ways of thinking on many topics which are not found on text books or anywhere else, which give them an edge in exams. Final note, I usually cover everything, and in advance, which will allow the student to have school lessons as revision class.

In addition, when I take someone on, it is naturally my goal to help motivate them along the way. If a tutee isn't doing enough work, I will take an active role to encourage and motivate the student to work harder. To me it is all part of what I do, if the thing that is stopping a student achieving is their habits or time management, then I will help them deal with it too.

Finally, I place great importance in maintaining a positive relationship with the tutees. Before any tuition start, we would have an informal chat with parents and student to establish how the student would like me to help him or her. It is most important that the student understand that I am here to help them achieve their goals, not that of the parents goals. This will allow us to start from a good basis to form a positive relationship in order to help the student.

Final notes:
1) I am currently developing a video A-level course, which is the best version of myself in videos! Contact me if you wish to know more, rates are significantly reduced. Homework will still be marked by me, and follow on discussions are done through Skype. Contact me for more information.
2) Further Maths A2 modules are charged at 60 per hour - this website does not allow me to state it.
3) If it is required that I travel to you, this is charged at 40 per hour pro rata. (Not available this academic year, I am pretty full.)
4) There will be weekend availability from next academic year as things stand, contact me to place a deposit to take a time slot for next academic year.

Personal Description:
I enjoy all aspects of English Literature, the research process and critical analysis. My most recent teaching has concentrated on sixteenth century texts, including Shakespeare's 'King Lear', 'Hamlet', 'Romeo and Juliet' and Webster's 'The White Devil.' I have also recently taught Oscar Wilde's novel 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' and Scott Fitzgerald's 'The Great Gatsby.'

Currently, I work as a note-taker for university undergraduates who have sight or hearing impairment or a specific learning disability. I enjoy this work immensely as I go along to support students in lectures and seminars in a diverse range of subjects including Philosophy, Psychology, Law and Sports Development which I find very interesting and rewarding.

Teaching Experience:

At a Sixth Form College, I have taught GCSE English (AQA Board); English Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2 (OCR Board); a Government unit on Public Services Level 3 (Edexcel) and Public Service Skills Level 2 (Edexcel).
I have also been a Personal Tutor for 16-19 age group at a Sixth Form College.

Tutoring Approach:

I set objectives, plan targets and evaluate progress and achievement. Reflection plays a key part in the teaching and learning experience. I am flexible and can adapt the learning programme to suit the learners' needs. I will also bring a great deal of enthusiasm to make the learning experience interesting and enjoyable.

Last year, tutees achieved excellent results; this was a result of the high standards adopted and expected of the student matched with lots of hard work.

Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Christopher, I've taught Science and Maths for over 10 years. At present I am teaching Chemistry at a prestigious North London co-educational school having previously taught at City of London School for Girls. I began tutoring in 2005, after graduating from Oxford University (Worcester College 2001 - 2005), with a Masters in Chemistry. Additionally, I have worked as a Science and Maths teacher on the Government's Life Long Learning Scheme. Professionally I have served as a consultant within the environmental science/engineering sector for a large multinational corporation.

Teaching Experience:

I am a friendly, approachable Oxford educated tutor with over 10 years and 5000 hours tutoring experience, comprising a mix of one-to-one tuition, teaching within small groups as well as larger classroom environments. I have extensive knowledge of all the major examination boards with particular expertise in the OCR, Edexcel, WJEC and AQA syllabuses.

I am currently teaching Chemistry at a top independent North London School, having previously taught both Chemistry and Maths at City of London School for Girls. Earlier experience included working as a Mathematics and Science teacher on the government-funded 'Life Long Learning' Scheme, where certain pupils were affected with learning disabilities such as ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia.

Additionally, I have passed the GAMSAT medical entrance exam required for certain medical schools within the UK, so can assist with the preparation required for this difficult test. I also provide numeracy and literacy tuition for those sitting professional or higher education exams and Armed Forces tests.

Undergraduate tuition is offered to those students studying for degrees that incorporate chemistry modules e.g. Business and Chemistry, foundation courses etc.

I cover Central London zones 1 - 2.

Rates: GCSE and A level: 40 per hour.

GAMSAT: 40 per hour.

I have an extensive list of references from previously satisfied clients for your perusal.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to get the very best out of students using a variety of teaching methods with a strong emphasis on exam technique. I have helped pupils of all ages and abilities both on a one-to-one basis as well as within small groups/large classroom environments.

Every person is different, and every person has his/her own grasping ability whether at home or in school. With this in mind I am very flexible and adaptable in my approach to teaching, and endeavour to create a learning environment where the pupil can thrive.

Personal Description:
I am currently studying for a post graduate certificate in education, specialising Science teaching at Oxford University. I graduated with a 2:1 in Physics at Oxford last year. I thoroughly enjoy learning and teaching alike and I feel I have combined that love in my future career as a Science teacher.
Due to my studies, I am in England for the majority of the year but live in Northern Ireland all Christmas, Easter and the months of July and August.

Teaching Experience:

I was involved in the tutor scheme at Ballyclare High School when I attended, where I worked with 1st to 3rd years with their science and maths.
I have been working with UK tutors for over a year and already helped numerous pupils across secondary school age.
I was awarded the Scott Prize for Teaching Physics in Schools when I took it as one of my options during my degree.
I am currently studying for my PGCE at Oxford University and have had teaching placements at North Oxfordshire Academy and Cheney School. I am due to start a teaching job in September at Wren Academy, Finchley.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a friendly and patient tutor. I find the more enjoyable a subject is the easier it is to remember. I find working through questions is the best way to apply knowledge.

Personal Description:
I am a native Arabic speaker from Jordan. I have a PhD in Arabic Language and Literature and three years of experience in teaching Arabic as an additional language. I teach Modern Standard Arabic, old Classical Arabic ( Quranic Arabic) and spoken Arabic ( Levantine and Gulf).

Teaching Experience:

Three years of experience in teaching Arabic as an additional language

Tutoring Approach:

As a teacher of Arabic language, I believed once in the 'myth' which says Arabic is a difficult language to learn. However, after more than two years of experience in teaching, I am confident that Arabic is easier than many languages including English. This belief has rooted through experience in teaching Arabic to students from beginners to advanced levels. Arabic is a very mathematical language. It depends on logic in all its aspects. It has rigid writing and pronunciation systems.

Personal Description:
I am a dedicated English and Media academic with a Masters Degree in English, a First Class Degree in Scriptwriting for Film and Television and a Masters Degree in Directing Digital Film & TV.

I also have a PAL certification for classroom based tutoring.

I can provide teaching in Film Studies, English (inc. GCSE, A'Level, English as a Foreign Language, Degree level and Basic and Reading and Writing skills), Communication Studies and Screenwriting.

I currently offer private tutoring, both online and in person to teenagers, college students, university students and adult learners, offering a patient and caring approach. My teaching and therefore my hourly rate is affordable as I do it for the love of the work.

As well as undertaking work for with the BBC (something the media / film students tend to be interested in) I have also worked on a number of feature films / short films, had articles published and I have won awards for my writing). Therefore, I have a considerable amount of practical and academic knowledge across the media industry, suitable for English, Film and Media Disciplines.

I really care about my students and helping them achieve their goals. I truly believe that anyone can do it if someone believes in their potential. Whether they are just starting out or if they are a mature learner. Everyone deserves to be the best they can be.

Teaching Experience:

For the last 9 years I have been providing a broad range of academic training courses and tutoring to students and adult learners in GCSE / A'level English, Digital Media and Scriptwriting, but I have also offered more basic reading / writing skills.

I currently work with a number of private students from GCSE level through to A' level and beyond, helping them achieve their goals and supporting them with the challenges that inevitably come with preparing and passing exams.

I have delivered classes to university level students, college students, school students and business owners across a wide range of disciplines.

I am always happy to provide references for my work too, so you can be assured of a great level of service.

Due to my work, I have a fully enhanced CRB check which is available for viewing.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe learning through association with what you know, is the easiest way to tutor people of all ages. It generally helps students to identify more easily the knowledge they need to pass their exams.

Being very patient, I find it's better to adapt my tutoring to the individual, rather than apply a 'one size fits all'. This means a better success rate as different students have different strengths.

I usually like to assess learners at the beginning of meeting them / talking to them and then devise a target plan to help them achieve learning goals.

ONLINE TRAINING

At the moment, I offer English GCSE / A'Level, Media, Film Studies, English as a Foreign Language and bespoke University tutoring support, as well as reading and writing skills. I provide full support and 'real time' lessons with a clear structure. Each element is specific to the student being taught.

So if you are looking for a friendly tutor who will encourage you to speak better English or you want to tackle an essay or prepare for an exam, or you want to brush up on the basics, I can help.

I can deliver online tutoring at a time to suit you on an ad-hoc or more regular basis.

Whether you want help with GCSEs, A levels, basic skills, you would like help with media / communication studies or you would like to get to grips with some basic English, I can provide a positive and friendly approach that will actually help you and a very thorough teaching method.

I cover the following areas:

Personal Description:
I have taught, supervised and mentored more than 1000 BSc, MSc and PhD students from around the world to deliver individual and team projects. I worked as a trainer, programme leader and module coordinator in the courses on IT Strategy and Management, Global Business and Sustainable Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Public Sector Management and Research Methods (Qualitative & Quantitative), supervising & managing research projects, (re)developing curricula for eLearning, producing course syllabi and designing evaluation methods together with colleagues and support staff in various UK and European universities.

Teaching Experience:

I am competent in most subjects within Management and Economics programmes and have extensive experience in thesis and assignment supervision, research guidance as well as academic writing.

MSc Dissertation in Project Management with A. - I worked with A. to help her with her MSc Dissertation in Project Management. I clarified the key issues and concepts, helped her develop a plan and a reading as well as reference list. Tutored her academic writing skills and coached her throughout the entire process. She was almost sure she would have failed, yet not only she ended up enjoying the time dedicated to her dissertation, but she also achieved a merit.

MSc dissertation in Economics with I. - I. was confused about the literature and the research for his course work and dissertation, he was also worried about his writing style. With regular sessions with me, I. gained the understanding and tools to improve his research and writing and submit his course work dissertation on time.

Research Methods (MBA dissertation) with P. - I helped P. prepare a first class approach for the research methodology of his MBA dissertation and to identify articles in arabic that were relevant for his topic.

BSc, Project Management Essay with J. - J. was under intense time pressure to deliver his project management essay and prepare for his exams at the same time. I worked with him two days in a row so that he could achieve high results in both.

BSc, Management, Accounting & Economic Philosophy assignments tuition with T. - T. is a hard working student from China. Unfortunately, his brilliance and knowledge was not emerging following his first essay results. Working with him 2/4 hours per week for 4 months, T. is now confident again he can truly express his knowledge and get the results he deserves.

BSc, Microeconomics tuition with H. - I worked with H., a native English speaker understand the way to approach and revise for her micro-economics module. She requested one week of intense online tuition, albeit the exam was imminent in one month. H. has now successfully completed the module

BSc, Advanced Economics Subjects, Econometrics (essay based) with V. - I worked 2 and half months giving V. 2-5 hours of tuition every day to prepare for his exams and coursework. V. learning needs had to be tailored to his special needs: being a dyslexic student I had to stimulate his learning ability and memory skills using visual aids and ad hoc examples. Even if the subjects were highly technical he benefited immensely from my dedicated approach, exclusive to him.

MBA dissertation with H. - H. was a full-time working mum of two children with special needs and had very little time to complete her MBA dissertation which was due in two months when we started. Working evenings and weekends with me H. was able to complete and submit her thesis on time and still thanks me for it!

BSc, Economic Development, Regulation, Business & Management with S. - I gave S. tutoring in three final year BSc subjects helping him increase his grades and better plan for his revision in order to use her time well.

PhD Management tutoring with K. - K. is one of my current tutees studying for a PhD in management. We have highly intellectual sessions on his research progress and he consults with me regularly on all aspects of his PhD studies.

Economic Development BSc exam preparation with J. - J. needed to discuss his understanding of the module to better prepare for his exam. He requested me to have regular questions and answers sessions one a week for two weeks with him so that any knowledge gaps could be filled. Our tutorials helped him relieve the stress and anxiety of the exam preparation.

TESTIMONIALS:

The feedback Diego gave me was a clear view on how to improve my work

Diego has been very helpful and gives clear information. His classes are very interesting and I have chosen his courses because of his approach.

Diego is a wonderful tutor. His teaching approach towards the subject has made me develop my interest in it.

Diego, for my personal opinion, has been really helpful for me to understand the real meaning of the subject.

The tutoring Diego gave me was great and I wouldn't have been able to do my essay to a good standard without his help!

I am happy with tutoring sessions with Diego, as I was trying to establish the research methods and his advice was helpful.

As a dyslexic final year undergraduate, I would not have been able to complete my revision on time without Diego's tutorials.
