Personal Description:
I have several years English teaching and GCSE examining experience following my degree and am currently teaching English/English at GCSE, A level and undergraduate level on a private basis. I have an MA in English which I passed with merit, and have recently embarked on a further Master's degree in Literature and Culture in 19th Century Literature and Culture.

Teaching Experience:

I originally taught A Level and GCSE English in FE colleges. Following this I started private tutoring in English at all ages and levels along with some basic Primary maths. More recently my work as an English Literature examiner has enhanced my understanding of student needs and of course the requirements of the GCSE exam syllabus. As I have been tutoring for some time now I am familiar with the varying requirements of all the major exam boards in GCSE and A level English Language and English Literature.

Tutoring Approach:

The greatest thing is seeing the student gain in confidence as their ability grows. One to one tuition enables the student to be honest about problems that are difficult to raise in the classroom at school or college. Consequently the tutor can focus on the individual needs of the student. This is the philosophy I adopt in tutoring. I am very conscientious, approachable and happy to adapt to the needs of the individual student , then watch them thrive.

Personal Description:
My name is Nadia, I am a Spanish, Portuguese and English teacher from Argentina. I have been teaching languages for more than 14 years now. I love my profession, I really enjoy teaching and sharing my experiences with the students. I moved to London in December 2011 (I hold an unmarried partner VISA, this means I am eligible to work in the UK) I am hard working, responsible and I believe in fun, communicative and interactive lessons. I love new challenges. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you, so we can start having fun and learning together!

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching languages for more than 14 years. I studied English Language Teaching Training at Mar del Plata University, Buenos Aires, Argentina. I also hold the CELTA. I taught English and Portuguese in Argentina in schools and language institutes to all age groups and levels (for more than 10 years). I really love and enjoy teaching and sharing my experiences with the students.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in fun, communicative and interactive lessons. I assess students needs and motivation for learning the target language. Always recycling the language learnt and putting into practice what is learnt in each lesson. I use a wide variety of materials (course books, grammar reference books, newspaper articles, songs, internet articles, short stories and whatever the students are interested in learning). The four skills are practiced from the very first class. You will feel that you are actually learning while having fun!

Personal Description:
I have moved to North Devon in the last year and am setting up a Tutoring Business alongside training as a Psychotherapist. I have worked with children for 14 years and have a lot of experience with them and very much enjoy teaching them. The feedback I have had so far is that their child feels much more confident that then builds a good foundation for developing their learning skills.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a Primary School teacher for 9 years.

Tutoring Approach:

Please see above in my "About myself" section.
I work with each child as an individual. As each child is different, they have a unique approach to learning that I am willing to find out and use. I have a relaxed style but we cover a lot in the time we have and I have started to see a change after a few sessions.

Teaching Experience:

I have 1 year teaching experience to GCSE Foundation and Higher Maths paper.
This year result was good, few of my students have improved from F to a C grade.

Personal Description:
****Available in the Coventry/ Warwickshire/ Birmingham area from 1st July 2017 until 15th September 2017 for summer holidays tuition****

Currently studying towards a PhD in English Literature, with previous tutoring experience, I am offering English Literature and English Language tuition for GCSE, A level, Undergraduate and adult learners. My approach to tutoring is friendly and supportive, aiming to maximise the students' potential.

I possess a Masters in World Literature obtained from the University of Warwick and a 2:1 degree in English Literature, obtained from DeMontfort University, Leicester. I am an academic who has spoken at conferences and published articles.

My strongest skills include:
Developing essay writing
How to approach English exam paper questions effectively
How to revise for English exams effectively
How to analyse a text
Developing effective critical writing for English literature essays
Improving grammar, spelling and sentence structure

Teaching Experience:

Since moving to Leeds in 2016, I have tutored GCSE, A level, University Undergraduate and Masters Degree level students. All of my students have developed their skills, improved coursework and essays and become more prepared for exams. My students' feedback so far has commended my 'professionable', 'knowledgable' and 'patient' nature. Specifically, I have developed analytic poetry and prose skills, helped translate texts from foreign languages into English, taught effective English revision tactics, improved and edited coursework, and proof read my student's work.

In 2015 I tutored a sixth form student in AS English Language for 3 months, practising exam papers once a week. The student went on to achieve a grade B, an improvement on the mock exam.

In the summer term, 2015, I completed a 6 week placement at Ernesford Grange Community Academy as a Teaching Assistant. I passed a CRB check to undertake this voluntary work. I helped Year 10 students develop their GCSE coursework and worked on improving spelling and grammar with small groups of Year 8 students.

Tailored to the aims of the student (e.g achieving an 'A*' grade) I will focus on exam paper practice, developing coursework skills and essay practice. By identifying the student's main weaknesses I will work on developing those skills, setting out objectives to achieve by the end of the hour and setting additional work if needed.

I will identify the student's main areas for development and improve these skills using various exercises and tactics. I really love books, and this enthusiasm makes my sessions effective and enjoyable!
