Personal Description:
I have been teaching for over ten years now and have many years experience in industry as well. I currently Director of Learning for Business & Economics, and for eight years I taught at Roundwood Park School in Harpenden as well as teaching in at Caddington Village gaining me an experience of how students learn from 3-13 years old. I have tutored all levels and every exam board and the students I have taught have all gone on to university with some of them going on to Oxbridge Universities to study economics. I have references if you wish.

Teaching Experience:

I ran the A-Level business course and most of the GCSE course I also taught the majority of economics. In recent years our Economics results were in the top 2% of the UK for AQA. I trained at STAGS and Dame Alice Owens but predominately in Roundwood Park.

Tutoring Approach:

I am happy to have it fairly structured or pupil lead depending on what you prefer. I will provide the student with hundreds of additional files to continue and aid their learning. At A-Level I often find that the focus is on the writing style, therefore, I tend to focus on that whereas at GCSE I tend to go through the theory as well as key exam tips.

Personal Description:
I studied Classics at King's College, Cambridge, graduating in 2009. I then trained as a teacher at Queens' College, Cambridge, graduating with a PGCE in 2010. I have been a private tutor since 2009, and have now clocked up thousands of hours' tutoring experience in Latin and Ancient Greek. I tutor both languages to degree-level standard in London, Cambridge and online. I love Classics, and my main aim is to make my lessons fun and inspirational.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring Latin and Ancient Greek intensively for the past 7 years, with thousands of hours' teaching experience to date. I have taught towards all major public exams in both languages, such as Common Entrance, GCSE, AS, A2, SAT, Pre-U and even BA (i.e. University exams). I am familiar with the entrance processes for a number of independent and grammar schools, and have had a lot of experience teaching towards scholarship papers. I have tutored many students applying to Cambridge and Oxford, and can provide in-depth advice and support with choosing the right course and college, as well as getting to the necessary level for the language tests. I have also taught the languages to those who have decided to learn them purely for fun! In addition to my face-to-face teaching, I have taught extensively online (about 50% of my teaching is conducted on Skype), and have built up an array of handy techniques to get the most from the online format. I was Head of Latin at a school in Bury St Edmunds for two years (September 2011 to July 2013). Since October 2010, I have been supervising Cambridge undergraduates in Latin and Ancient Greek (colleges so far have included Pembroke, Downing, Homerton, Queens', King's, Murray Edwards, Newnham, Caius, Peterhouse, St John's, Emmanuel and Trinity). I also own and run a private tuition agency, Titanium Tutors, which I set up in 2011, managing a team of 8 staff members and over 1000 inspirational tutors.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching style is structured and thorough. I start every lesson with a five minute recap of the key content of the previous session, checking how much the tutee remembers. A typical lesson will then consist of a translation, in which I ask the tutee to note down each unknown word as it is encountered and to devise a memory trick which will help them to recall the word in a five minute test at the end of the lesson. Together with the tutee, I will then pick a grammar point which stood out in the translation exercise as requiring the most immediate attention. We will spend five to ten minutes working on that, with the tutee's understanding tested with some reinforcement exercises. At the end of the lesson we will recap all the new vocabulary and grammar which was covered, and I will typically set a manageable 20 - 30 minute homework for the next session based on what was covered in the lesson. Every lesson is of course different, and tailored to the tutee's requirements, but I find this approach works in the vast majority of cases. I consider grammar to be crucially important, but treat it as a means to an end and always emphasise the ways in which it can be usefully applied to translation rather than learned in isolation. I believe that any tutee can excel in Latin and Greek with a little guidance and a decent amount of independent work. Above all, I strive to make my lessons fun and enjoyable. I love my subject and want all of my tutees to love it too.

Personal Description:
I live in Cumbria and have a range of work experiences to draw on, including researching for the BBC daily survey and the Centre for Social Policy Research and Development. I have also worked as a housemother for children with learning difficulties, as an advocate within the voluntary sector and as an advocacy development worker.

After gaining my PhD, my more recent work has been as an Education lecturer in higher education which has also involved me in a number of research initiatives, tutoring undergraduate and postgraduate students and working on research governance and ethics. I have a wide range of peer reviewed publications and a number of current book contracts. I believe education is a right for all people at all levels and that it is best viewed as a lifelong experience.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked at a college teaching A level Sociology and more recently at a Russell Group university for 8 years teaching a wide variety of topics to undergraduate and postgraduate students including sociology, social policy and politics, social psychology, social theory, person centred approaches, gender studies, disability theory, social research, critical thinking, communication & study skills. My last two national student survey results gave 93% and 100% for quality.

I have also previously taught on women returning to work courses through the University of Lancaster as well as youth and community and training the trainers courses.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a student centred approach to tutoring. Each person has different needs and different approaches to learning. Initially we will assess your needs and preferences together and work out how to deliver teaching in the most effective way for you to achieve your goals. I also encourage a proactive approach where students learn to take responsibility for their learning in between person to person tuition. This is especially important for students going on to university education.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced visual Artist and Photographer currently working and exhibiting within Liverpool. I have an art studio where I work as an professional artist and I am very involved within the Liverpool Art Scene. As a working artist I also have a lot of practical and helpful advice that I am willing to share with any aspiring artist!

Independently I have worked as an artist on a variety of projects, workshops and exhibitions. I have also worked within school and university art departments.

I have studied within the arts for six years. I have a First Class Fine Art Degree (Hons) and have also studied Art Foundation and Photography BETC.

I am a naturally friendly and approachable person. I have worked with people with a wide variety of artistic abilities and I understand that everyone learns differently. I am a very flexible tutor and I will always develop sessions that suite each student individually.

With younger students I am willing to travel to your home, with older students I can teach classes within my art studio.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have and I hope to hear from you soon!

Teaching Experience:

As an artist I think it is important to pass on the skills I have and help others to develop artistically.

I have previously have ran art workshops and worked in schools/universities. Through this I have taught art to a variety of age ranges and abilities. Within previous classes I have taught a large range of style and techniques.

I have previously set up and ran art workshops under the name 'Free Their Minds'. These workshops were developed to help children from deprived areas to have access to art classes. The classes aimed at building up the children's artistic skills, knowledge and confidence.

(References available on request)

Tutoring Approach:

All my lessons are tailor made to each individual student. The classes vary depending on ability and interests. Each lesson is designed to build the foundation skills and knowledge that all artists/photographers need.

I strongly believe that practical art and art history should be taught together as it creates a stronger understanding of the subject.
I make sure all lessons are a combination of art historical context and artistic skill building. I encourage students to build creative thinking, problem solving and traditional artistic skills.

A keen third year BSc Chemistry student approaching the final year. I'm a hard working individual that is willing to help students who are trying to achieve great results in their exams

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a tutor where I use to teach Chemistry and Biology students. I have a lot of classroom based experience and have worked at Kumon tutoring center

Tutoring Approach:

It is very vital that a need of a student is understood and helped them in every possible way. I like to teach the content in full depth with homework provided to the students and some exams practice
