| Personal Description: I would call myself a facilitator instead of a teacher and I experiment with various pedagogies in order to facilitate the learning of a student. Given that I have taught in various schools for the past ten years I am experienced to deal with Special Education Needs pupils, pupils whose first language is not English (EAL), average pupils and also gifted and talented. As a facilitator I know how to bring up the best in each pupil in order to promote his or her learning. I also work closely with the National Curriculum in order to ensure that my students improve not only their writing skills but also speaking and listening ones. I am acquainted with the AQA, OCR, EdExcel and Welsh examination boards across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. Given that I have prepared students for their SATs, GCSE, AS and A levels exams for many years, I use assessment criteria to raise academic standards. When I tutor someone I provide all the resources, give on going extra supports (examples, emails and phone) |
Teaching Experience: I have taught is several schools (comprehensive, academy, RC,..) I am able to adapt myself with different students coming from different school backgrounds. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is unique. My role as a tutor or rather as a facilitator is to ensure that the child is progressing. I usually set weekly targets and review them. | Personal Description: I am 33 years old and currently nearing the end of my studies for a PhD in French literature, at King's College in London. |
Teaching Experience: I have taught English for three years in France, including in the capacity of private tuition, mainly for English as a foreign language as well as at university. I taught professional adults in both group and individual sessions. At the University of Val de Marne (Paris 12) I taught English to first and second year undergraduates in the Sciences faculty. |
Tutoring Approach: I first ask students to outline what they consider their strengths and weaknesses to be and then to focus on building a consistent set of skills. I organise sessions by establishing a timetable and plan of study, which is not pressured and which allows for flexibility. I aim to provide a relaxed yet studious atmosphere. I try to teach in a way that is as much about building confidence as it is about achieving excellence. |

| Personal Description: I am 25 years old. I live in Norwich with my partner. Originally from Bury St Edmunds, I moved to Norwich 6 years ago. My experience is quite diverse. Last year I completed an Access to Medicine course where I studied Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Medical Geography. I am now waiting to begin Medical School at UEA, in September. My area of expertise is Physics, Biology and Chemistry. My level of knowledge is at and above A Level standard. I am continuing to improve my knowledge in all these areas, in preparation for medical school, and for my current students. |
Teaching Experience: I have worked as a TEFL English Teacher for around 2 years. As an English teacher I taught English Language to foreign students of different nationalities. On average my classes consisted of approximately 15 students. Lessons were aimed at preparing students for their International English Language Testing System exams (IELTS). General lessons involved teaching grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and verbal and written communication. For last 6 months I have been working as private tutor, teaching students in Physics, Biology and Chemistry. The work has been great and I have really enjoyed helping students prepare for a range of exams. |
Tutoring Approach: I am friendly and down to earth. I remember what it was like to learn and what an ardours and laborious process it can be at times. However I work with the students to tailor a learning program for them, using teachings methods best suited to their needs and learning style. I believe this enables students to absorb information in a coherent useful way, I also believe that this allows students to begin enjoying the subject they are learning, and to see how interesting and useful science is! |

| Personal Description: I'm a french national, fluent in English, capable of teaching French as a foreign language at any level. |
Teaching Experience: I taught in primary schools in France and abroad from 1996 to 2008, at different levels, from kindergarten to Grade 5. I also have experience of French as a foreign language (Test examiner for DALF and DELFat the french Institute in Tripoli) |
Tutoring Approach: I think that one-to-one teaching objective is to carefully adapt on the student's needs. Basically, I start a lesson with a goal (agreed with the student), and terminate it with the student re-telling the point with his own words ( Each lesson is a part of a more global target for a complete session) Last, but not least, I do best to make each lesson a dynamic exchange in a friendly atmosphere. |
