Personal Description:
I am currently teaching at one of the top independent schools for girls in Berkshire. I hold a PhD in chemistry, which gives me sound knowledge of the subject and I have completed my teacher training at the University of Cambridge.
I am told to be an approachable person which allows me to build a very good working relationship with my students. They are never afraid of asking questions and this gives me the opportunity to identify problems and rectify them quickly.

Teaching Experience:

I am a chemistry specialist and I have five years experience of teaching Edexcel IGCSE and OCR A/B A level qualifications in a high achieving school. I am also confident with the content of the AQA, OCR A/B and Edexcel GCSE and AQA and Edexcel A level specifications.

Tutoring Approach:

I do not have a unique approach. All students are different and they have all different needs. I try building a relationship of trust and listen to what their needs are. Very often is the case that they lack confidence and they just need some reassurance. Chemistry is a challenging subject but most students can do very well provided they have self belief and are willing to work hard.

Personal Description:
I am a French national who has lived 30+ years in England and after a 25 year career in the secondary and Sixth form sector, I have become self employed as a language trainer and examiner.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in Sixth form colleges for 25 years , tutored evening adult classes at the local College of further Education, I have been a teacher at the Alliance Francaise in Manchester from 2000 to 2010, I am an Advanced Level examiner and have marked the GCSE OCR French exam too. I teach business French in a number of companies.

Tutoring Approach:

Teaching one to one, in small or larger groups.
Teaching 16-19 year olds , adults at every level of language learning, preparing University students for their oral / written examinations,in intensive, semi-intensive, regular weekly packages, etc...
I believe in the communicative approach, developing the speaking and listening skills, reading and finally writing, but all depends on the way the learner wishes to use the language. Obviously, in the case of pupils and students, the syllabus has to dictate the format of the preparation..
The important thing is that the learning experience should be pleasant, positive and empowering

Personal Description:
After obtaining a masters degree in Mathematics from Queen Mary University I have been working as a maths tutor since 2011. As a result apart from familiarising myself well with the UK system and curriculum I have further developed my experience and teaching skills.
I'm very friendly and passionate with what I do. I'm enthusiastic with teaching and maths, and trying to pass this feeling to my students as well. Maths is not plainly something you have to learn but something fun you can learn. Of course we all care about grades but what counts most at the end of the day is the new mindset you have acquired, upon which you can carry on building within any discipline.
As for my tutoring method, I strive to create a well balanced relationship with pupils. I set clear targets for my students and expect them to develop throughout our sessions. I emphasize on the suitable approach for each individual in order to have the best results possible. Finally, I consider humour an essential part of my sessions as it creates a better learning environment and a more enjoyable session.
It was only last year that I attempted to expand my lessons to the online realm. I've had pupils from all over UK that were looking for the best fit of a tutor, or university students that studied in London but wanted help even when away. Thus, I have now shifted my focus to online tuition and I'm trying to provide the most suitable digital environment with the necessary learning tools and aids.

Personal Description:
As a post-graduate and former scientist, I have been tutoring chemistry for over 9 years now. I am an easy going, down to earth person with a natural flare for teaching. I really enjoy helping people to understand difficult concepts and I've always found science captivating. I am the kind of person who is willing to go above and beyond to help if I am able to. I have experience with young people of all ages, from crèche to holiday clubs, teaching in schools and leading teenagers at summer camps.

Teaching Experience:

I have enjoyed studying science at university level for over 8 years, during which time I was also involved in teaching undergraduate students in labs and tutorials. Since then I've held a post in a pharmaceutical lab developing cancer therapies, as well as teaching chemistry, physics and biology in secondary schools. I studied for a PGDE to become a secondary school chemistry teacher in 2010 (but had to end the course early due to severe morning sickness). As such, I have been able to practice and develop a variety of teaching methods and I'm up to date with the relevant exam board course outcomes and requirements. Over the past 9 years, I have professionally tutored many students, covering Standard Grade, Intermediate 2, National 5, Higher, Revised Higher and Advanced Higher Chemistry, Revised Advanced Higher Chemistry, Higher Human Biology and first year University level Biochemistry. About 70% of my students have achieved at least 2 or 3 grade jumps since they started tutorials with me.

I have several positive references and a CRB enhanced disclosure, which will be available to view on request.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a friendly approach to tutoring. I like my students to feel at ease so that they are able to ask me anything. I'm of the mind set that no question is too silly to ask. My tutorials are structured and tailored around the individual student. Depending on the time we have available before an exam/NAB, we will identify key areas that the student experiences difficulty with and work through them addressing Knowledge & Understanding and Problem Solving, both of which are key to achieving the individual's desired grade. I endeavour to cover all topics of the course if we are able to, as I often find that there are areas that a student realises they are not up to scratch on once we start to revise it. I create personalised worksheets for my students and we spend a lot of time going through past papers, as well as developing exam/study technique.

As tutition progresses, I have witnessed a huge increase in the confidence that every one of my students hold in their own ability to problem solve as well as understand their given course work. I have often had comments from students and parents that I make things easy to understand and that the student is actually enjoying their course a lot more since commencing tutoring. I try to make myself available as much as possible to answer queries from tutees by e-mail or text, especially in the run up to class tests or exams.

Here's what one of my previous tutees had to say: "Dale tutored me throughout my higher Chemistry course and I honestly could not have got an A without her! She managed to explain the complex concepts essential to understanding chemistry in a way that I could relate to real life. She was always supportive and motivated me to do well. She was always flexible and able to fit in between my busy schedule. Even now when I have issues with my course work at Medical school I know I could drop her an e-mail with questions and she would be more than happy to help out. Overall Dale is fantastic, if you want a good grade whilst having fun she is your best bet!" - Eilidh.

All of my preparation time (typically 2 hours per session), travel time and travel expenses are included in the hourly rate. I prefer not to travel more than 7 miles from home but will still be happy to consider this.

Personal Description:
Ben is a technically and artistically accomplished in portraiture photography and been quoted by professors at a university as a master in the studio. He love's to make the photos encapsulate you and who you want to be. Ben strives to capture the details and emotions that would go together to make your time with me an enjoyable experience.
Ben is a social person and loves to get to know the people he works for, so he can really reflect their character and what they want, so to produce the highest quality work for and give them exactly what they are after. Ben aims to spend time chatting with you in advance so that your time with me is so much more productive.
Ben grew up in West Africa where his parents worked amongst the poor coordinating small-scale development projects. This had a massive impact on his life and photographic practice affecting how he relates to the world around him. In his photographic work, he has taken a special interest in reflecting stories and voices through his images. For example, he travelled in Uganda and Thailand and used photography to be the 'voice' of the people he photographed.
Although Ben's formative years were spent in Africa he was educated in Guildford, Surrey at George Abbot School that specialised in the expressive arts. During these years, his creative flare became more apparent when he took A-levels in Fine Art, Sculpture, and Photography. He progressed onto doing a Foundation Degree in Action Photography at Truro College where he specialised in Sport, the Natural world and Social Documentary and began to prepare for a more commercial direction. Ben still maintained his roots in expressive art during the foundation degree but also developed his technical skills thoroughly. Ben had the opportunity to be the photographer for 24/7 magazines in July 2008 at the Newquay Ripcurl Surfing Festival.
In 2009, he progressed on to Plymouth University to study for his BA Hons in Photography where he achieved a 2.1 studying under Stephen Vaughan and Dr. Simon Standing. During this course, he spent time looking intricately into the how we view our bodies and others around us. He concluded the year specializing in fine art nudes and portraiture, with a project called 'The Paradox of Perfect Beauty'. This study challenges the ideologies of beauty in history, sculpture, and figurative representation and critically analyzes the standardized figures and body shape used in art as well as in modern day commercial advertising, fashion and other types of portraiture. In the final exhibition, Ben aimed to present a personal discovery of body image and consequent self-affirmation. Ben was fortunate to be able to exhibit some of his work at the D & A D-New Blood Exhibition in London in June 2010.
Many photographers say they are good but even the perfect image that ben has he can still see my own flaws in you get the highest quality with me and won't be disappointed. In this digital age, many people can snap you but ben can give you an artistic flair, which is also of superior quality. He is sure that you will want to share the photographs he produces. Don't hesitate to contact me to discover more.

I also work in a apple shop in Guildford so can teach about apple products and how to use them both in conjunction with software like photoshop or one there own.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring photography from many years to all different ages and abilities from young kid's to University and Mature Learners, I started my teaching with teaching english in Thailand and working as a assistant youth worker and having to teach different subject and activities. I have furthered my experience with children running children Holiday camps over the school Holidays.

Tutoring Approach:

i have a relaxed approach to teaching trying to have an objective view to someone work but giving prods and direction where needed i lile for my students to discover the answer themselves and the satisfaction you see from them when this happens is the best part of the job every achievement is given praise and every downfall is looked at as not a failure but a part of the learning curve.

Personal Description:
I am Dimitrios and I am a freelance musician/teacher/producer. My main musical discipline is drumming but I also play guitar and have basic knowledge of keyboards. I also possess a high level of musical theory and I am an intermediate percussion player.

I am 25 years old and I currently reside in South-West London. I am Greek but the last three years I've been living in UK.

I have studied in the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, graduating with a Bachelor Degree under the excellent guidance of Pete Riley (Guthrie Govan) and Frank Tontoh ( Amy Winehouse, George Michael). With them I have studied and played a wide variety of contemporary musical styles (funk, jazz, pop, hip-hop, r'n'b, rock, latin etc)

I am very approachable, friendly and open minded and I love to share my knowledge on music and everything else around this subject. I can also provide advise on career questions, hardware and general consultation.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience begins back in Greece where I used to help my private tutor ease his workload. I used to handle beginners and very young children. I have also spend a year on teaching before I moved in England to study as a mean of preparing my self for the path of the Freelance Musician I was aiming for.

During my days in ACM, I also used to help fellow students on lower levels of the school to better prepare for their Bachelor Course.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach depends largely on two factors. The age of my student and his experience.

I usually prefer to take my students back to the very basics. In case of drumming, I like to check their very body stance, their movement, the general understanding of time and rhythm and even their breathing while focusing on the instrument.

In general I tend to make everything sound fun and easy and approachable and I insist on connecting all the knowledge into practical concepts so the student can better understand what he is actually learning and why.

Overall, I focus on fun and relaxations but through discipline and organized learning and understanding.

Personal Description:
I am a recent graduate from Bath Spa University with a first class BA (Hons) in Contemporary Arts Practice. 2014-2017
I am about to start a Masters at the Royal College of Art in Mixed Media Textiles.

I have been practising art for as long as I can remember, and have been selling and exhibiting my work the last two years through commissions and partaking in group exhibitions.

My practice involves using recycled materials and environmentally friendly techniques which I like to bring forward in the lessons teaching children how to create art from materials already available to them.

I'm a young enthusiastic reliable person with lots of energy and time for children.

Ideally I would like to tutor children around West London as I don't have a car.

Teaching Experience:

I have 10 years childcare experience in which I often partook in creative activities with the children.
The age range I have worked with are between 1-12 so ideally I would like to tutor this age group.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that every child learns differently so my teaching approach will vary slightly from child to child dependent on their interests and what they and the parent would like them to learn.
I feel it is important for the child to be excited about what they are learning and be able to express themselves in our lessons, I will often teach fun exciting activities and skills that are not necessarily taught in school.
My art lessons take on a different alternative approach to typical art lessons, for example learning how to make the materials they are going to use as well as how to use them e.g making own paint as well as many more!
