Personal Description:
My greatest interest is my family - my husband and our four children aged 18, 17, 11, and 9. We enjoy many activities together, with the highlight being our summer holidays where we self-drive to various places in Europe.

I also love learning and have just started my masters degree in maths.

As the mother of four children I have to be well organised and efficient. I enjoy a challenge and love teaching. I can work well alone or as part of a team and I believe I am an effective communicator.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching maths from Entry Level through to Level 2 for teaching assistants, adults in the community and young offenders. I also teach "Keeping up with the children" courses for parents wanting to help their children. I have also been tutoring children in Years 10 & 11 on a 1-1 basis to help them with their GCSE Maths at Swavesey Village college.

In the last two years I have been working as a maths teacher at an independent secondary school in Cambridge.

I have recently been appointed the Head of Mathematics at a local prep school which I am enjoying very much. However this does mean that I am now only available to tutor during the school holiday.

Tutoring Approach:

I thoroughly enjoy my work. I relate well to children and adults. I believe its important to instill confidence and subscribe to an active learning approach with a variety of resources where possible. I also use a variety of alternative methods to meet individual learning needs as I firmly believe that one size does not fit all.

Personal Description:
A highly experienced teacher with relevant qualifications. I hold a masters in business studies and also a bachelors degree in civil engineering. I have an enhanced CRB disclosure.

GCE June 2012 update - Business studies student's confirm A level results. Fantastic! Student references available.

Maths Update!! Year 8 & 10 students moved up to higher set maths at school
March Update!! Private tutoring Business studies students achieved A grade in Unit 2 and Unit 3!!

Teaching Experience:

I teach business studies (GCSE, AS/A2) at an independent school in Cambridge. I also do private tutoring in business studies and maths (KS3, GCSE). I have huge resources and materials available from my teaching experience and I know how to prepare candidates for exams.
My maths students are always being moved up a set to a higher level.

Tutoring Approach:

I ensure the students understand the topics and check this by using lots of question and answer materials. We go through exam techniques and how to answer questions i.e. what the examiner is looking for. I provide case studies which we discuss and pull out the relevant information required to answer the question. I get the students to do lots of practice in application, analysing and evaluating case studies.

For maths I work on moving the student up a level. I first assess what level the students are at (level 5, 6, 7, 8). If they are at level 5 we work on moving them to Level 6 and above. I always work on moving them up another level

Personal Description:
I am a senior manager working within the public sector based in central London. My academic qualifications in this field are supported by extensive professional experience working within local and central government. I provide that sought after combination of in depth academic political knowledge with 'on the ground' relevant and extensive practical experience. Many of my clients comment on this being a significant factor in why I was chosen above other tutors.

I am not a State Registered Teacher. I like to ensure that this is clear. However the vast majority of politics teachers are not qualified in politics and have little in depth understanding of the nuances of British or US political systems. Many of my students ask me why I don't teach. The simple answer is that I can pick the subject I want to teach and throw 100% of my time into one student at a time.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive tutoring experience of A level Government and Politics and a proven track record. I am currently tutoring students for Edexcel and AQA A Level Government and Politics and essay writing. I can provide verifiable references from recent/current students.

The last round of exams (August 2016) all my students achieved a minimum two grade increase to their original grades (some going from E to B) and can provide details and personal references for any potential client to check. All of my students this year achieved a B or above.

A significant amount of my client base is built up through recommendations from previous clients. I also have extensive experience of teaching adults in an adult education environment and have an NVQ in Delivering Learning.

Tutoring Approach:

I provide tutoring on a 121 basis but am totally flexible depending on the tutees needs. I tutor to the subject syllabus, with the added value of my experience, expertise and contextual detail on current political and social events being included. I build confidence above all else.

It is always difficult inviting a new tutor into your house, but you will find I am relaxed, friendly, totally adaptable and totally reliable. My clients comment they can set their watch by my punctuality! I am available most evenings and all weekends but with sufficient notice I can also tutor during the day.

Included in the fee is full email and telephone support - no extra charges !! In addition the first consultation is free of charge for you to meet me and ensure that I am suitable for your needs. I will travel most places but if it is a substantial distance will add travel costs.

Many of my clients will support the fact that they actually realised they began to enjoy the subject following being tutored by me.

Personal Description:
Having completed A levels in Biology, Chemistry (and Politics) to A* standard, I have a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the current curriculum along with excellent organisational and interactional skills plus past tutoring experience. Whilst i'm pursuing my passion for music at the moment, I have a real affinity to science; holding a place at Kings College London to study Biochemistry in 2016.

Teaching Experience:

In terms of tutoring experience, mine is extensive! Since 2012, I've taught many students of varying abilities, all of which have achieved or surpassed their target grade.

My aim is to engage pupils and, working with each specific syllabus in mind, find imaginative and accessible ways of explaining unfamiliar concepts. I encourage my tutees to go through practice exams etc with me after covering a section. This way we can translate knowledge into actual results.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an approachable down-to-earth tutor to whom students can, whilst keeping focused and on track, relate. I am patient and understand the importance of asking questions - that's what tutors are for. A particular strength of mine is the ability to explain - i am highly competent in my subject areas, passing on knowledge effectively and imaginatively.

Personal Description:
I am a native Italian speaker, confident, enthusiastic and passionate about teaching. I have attended the TT 4 in Preparing to Teach in Lifelong Sector (PTTLS) and the diploma 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce. I also graduated in Arts (Italian Modern Studies) and completed my MA in Italian Language and Literature in 2008 at Pisa University.
By teaching in different countries, environments and working with people of all ages, I have acquired a board experience, which allows me to identify and address learners' needs and plan in order to get the best outcomes for them. Through the way I teach, I hope to show and motivate the students to learn and understand the history and the culture of my country because learning a foreign language is not just imparting rules of grammar.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experiences include working as key worker in the nursery and teaching Italian language for foreign adults and children in London. In Italy, for two years, I worked for an organisation which specialized in helping migrants (aged 17 to 50) to learn the language and as a personal tutor for a secondary school girl with dyslexia. I have also taught a variety of subjects (including Italian language, literature, history and Maths) to Primary, GCSE and A-level students for about 10 years.

Tutoring Approach:

Through my studies and experiences, I acquired a widen knowledge of contemporary teaching methods and approaches which contribute to plan, organise and deliver high standard lessons according to learner's level.
At the beginning, I usually carry out an assessment (oral and written) for ascertaining student's knowledge of the language and learning style. Then, I plan each lesson in advance and according to the student's needs. I always prepare handouts, worksheets or quizzes that help student to memorise the concepts and me to check her/his progress. I like to use different kinds of resources in order to create a more interactive and motivating lesson every time.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring both amateur and professional photographers with over ten years and always endeavour to get the maximum out of every camera regardless of its size and cost.

I relate well to people.

I speak clearly.

I can quickly evaluate skill levels of individuals and can modify both techniques and explanations to suit the learner.

I have been involved with photographic training over the last six years helping both amateur and professional photographers alike.

I am very familiar with the theory and practical use of all formats of cameras ranging from 35mm to Large Format Equipment.

I am conversant in the many works of past photographers as well as latter day amateur and professional people.

I can tackle many aspects of photography from Portrait, Wedding, Commercial, Urban, Landscape, Black and White, Architectural, Commercial, Macro to telephoto as well as Microscopy and Photomicrography.

I can competently create beautiful Black and White Images

Tutoring Approach:

I am a kind person and I do realise that I was once a beginner in this area, while it will not happen overnight, my experience has shown that my clients can fastrack their abilities by the benefit of my methods.
I have just completed an MA Photography in where I undertook a project which was an assertive evaluation on landscape photography, highlighting the factor of scale and the part it plays with both the picture and the viewer.

Using traditional and digital photographic techniques together with specialised optics. my work explored conventional landscapes alongside fragments in extraordinary detail. My work challenged the traditional view that photography is a science or art, demonstrating that it can be both.

Within two years I want to build on my MA Photography and hopefully study for a PhD in this area. I also want to build on my Associate status of The Royal Photographic Society and want to aim for a Fellowship of this organisation within two years by September 2014.

I have made some very good friendships in the area of photography who are of enormous help to me.

I have spoken at major International Lectures in overseas Conventions.

I am hoping to have a Fellowship of The Royal Photographic Society within two years, September 2014

I aim to start an Outreach Program on Photography by the summer of 2013.

Personal Description:
I am a divorcee with two teenagers and a rather loopy dog (all housetrained!) I discovered the joys of teaching as a parent helper at my children's Infant and Junior schools which inspired me to qualify as a Primary School teacher. Unfortunately I have developed arthritis in my knee which is why I am looking to continue my teaching in a non-school environment. My favourite academic subject is literacy because I love reading books by a wide range of authors, e.g. Austin and Dickens to J K Rowling and Jacqueline Wilson. I love creative crafts e.g. card making, cross stitch, scrapbooking etc. Music plays a big part in my life, including listening and making. I'm a bit of a diva on the recorder and can play the full range from Sopranino to Bass. I love to sing.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified Primary School Teacher who has worked in a number of schools in Essex in permanent, temporary and supply posts across both KS1 and KS2 over the last four years. My PGCE was obtained through School Centred Initial Teacher Training (which comprised spending a lot of time working directly with children). Prior to that I was a parent helper and governor for 5 years at my children's Infant and Junior Schools. I was Music Leader at my last school for two years and ran the choir. I enjoy teaching all primary subjects. I am keen to also support adults in improving their maths and literacy skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I am familiar with the Primary Curriculum. Hands on learning is great fun and I enjoy practical activities. I love working on a one to one basis as you can build a rapport and really personalise the learning. I enjoy topic work as it gives the learning a context and shows that subjects do not stand alone without any connections/overlap with each other (just like life). I am keen to support both adults and children in mastering literacy and numeracy skills because they are fundamental life skills. Personalised learning means that any gaps can be filled so that an individual has a firm foundation on which to build.

The place that I use to teach is near Cardiff City Centre, it is a quiet and comfortable location. However, I can also travel to you if your residence is not too far from me.
I am passionate in teaching and always can combine my lessons with real life. I strongly believe that students can learn in a very fun environment with me.

Teaching Experience:

Mandarin:
- I am a native Chinese speaker. I did 1 year internship at Confucius Institute of University of Havana where I taught Mandarin to Cuban students of all ages and levels. (2011-2012)
- I have been teaching Mandarin as a private tutor in the UK for more than 3 years to students of diverse nationalities. (2012-present)
- I have experience as interpreter (Chinese-English) at the Beijing Overseas Study Service Association (BOSSA) fair, held November 2013 at Regent's University, London.

Spanish:
- I did my Foundation course (1 year) and BA in Spanish language (4 years) at University of Havana, Cuba, and also taught this language to adult students who went to Cuba for visit and study.

Tutoring Approach:

- The first lesson is FREE. We can discuss your learning purpose and interests. It is also an opportunity for me to learn your language level.

Personal Description:
I am Dimitrios and I am a freelance musician/teacher/producer. My main musical discipline is drumming but I also play guitar and have basic knowledge of keyboards. I also possess a high level of musical theory and I am an intermediate percussion player.

I am 25 years old and I currently reside in South-West London. I am Greek but the last three years I've been living in UK.

I have studied in the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, graduating with a Bachelor Degree under the excellent guidance of Pete Riley (Guthrie Govan) and Frank Tontoh ( Amy Winehouse, George Michael). With them I have studied and played a wide variety of contemporary musical styles (funk, jazz, pop, hip-hop, r'n'b, rock, latin etc)

I am very approachable, friendly and open minded and I love to share my knowledge on music and everything else around this subject. I can also provide advise on career questions, hardware and general consultation.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience begins back in Greece where I used to help my private tutor ease his workload. I used to handle beginners and very young children. I have also spend a year on teaching before I moved in England to study as a mean of preparing my self for the path of the Freelance Musician I was aiming for.

During my days in ACM, I also used to help fellow students on lower levels of the school to better prepare for their Bachelor Course.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach depends largely on two factors. The age of my student and his experience.

I usually prefer to take my students back to the very basics. In case of drumming, I like to check their very body stance, their movement, the general understanding of time and rhythm and even their breathing while focusing on the instrument.

In general I tend to make everything sound fun and easy and approachable and I insist on connecting all the knowledge into practical concepts so the student can better understand what he is actually learning and why.

Overall, I focus on fun and relaxations but through discipline and organized learning and understanding.

Personal Description:
I am a professional and enthusiastic native teacher of English from Cambridge, UK.

Bilingual in English and French, and also speaking Russian and Italian fluently, I am passionate about languages and cultures as a way to understand the world around us.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 3 years of experience teaching English, both in the UK and overseas. My professional experience includes working in language schools, a secondary school and as a private tutor. Students I have worked with ranged from age 5 to adults, from beginner to advanced level.

Classes I have taught include: General English, Business English, exam preparation (IELTS, Cambridge PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, International Baccalaureate), preparation for international schools and conversation.

Tutoring Approach:

My focus is on the communicative method, to practise speaking as much as possible, and encourage fluency, whilst setting aside specific times during the lesson to work on grammar and accuracy (error correction). It's up to you if we also work on reading and writing. My students are very happy with the progress they make and rapid improvement in fluency - references are available on request!

I work with various materials - the Cambridge Face to Face textbooks, news articles, videos, literature, audio clips and business scenarios, depending on your individual needs and goals.

***The first lesson and, if desired, assessment of English level, is FREE.*** Lessons can be held in Cambridge (£20/h) or by Skype (£15/h). You can contact me to arrange this by email through the online form or by phone.
