I have taught as Lecturer at under-grad level in the department of mechanical engineering, UET Lahore for almost three years. Hi, I have always had a love for languages and would love to instil you with the same enthusiasm. After having lived abroad as part of my degree, I then graduated with a BA Hons Degree Class 2.1 in Modern Languages (German, French and Italian), after which I obtained my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). After teaching, I also worked for International companies, using my languages extensively by liaising with customers and colleagues overseas and also translating and interpreting. I have always kept my languages fresh by reading foreign literature and keeping in touch with German / French friends. I am mother to 4 children, but even after my children were born, I continued to do some freelance translation. Personal Description:
I have been tutoring academic subjects for the last 6 years, whilst coaching/mentoring from the age of 18.

I have a long-standing interest in helping young people beyond just the curriculum and passing exams. I have a Masters in Positive Psychology from UEL, the 1st in Europe to offer the course and 2nd in the world. This new science focuses on building strengths, whilst promoting good well-being and helping to prevent mental ill health.

I have been lucky to have received some very kind references from tutees/parents I have worked with previously; you can take a look at these at the bottom of my profile if you wish.

Teaching Experience:

My core tutoring experience is focused around the individual Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), English and Mathematics, for both secondary school (up to GCSE-level) and primary school.

Beyond this, previous experience has also extended to:

- GCSE German
- Primary school - English
- Entrance examinations - for primary and second schools (including verbal & non-verbal reasoning)
- UCAS application forms, personal statements, job applications, CV writing, etcetera

(I also provided Tennis coaching at Summer camps, through Tennis England, from 2005 - 2007; this included both 1-to-1 and group lessons for children aged 4-15).

I will always be completely honest as to my capabilities/limitations, and will be advise accordingly in certain instances where I do not think I am best placed to help.

Tutoring Approach:

Every student has a different personality, and will have specific ways of learning suited to them. Recognising this, my approach is personalised, friendly and supportive, with the focus on getting the best for the individual student.

My approach is take on the combined role of a tutor and mentor, relating their academic goals to their own day-to-day lives as a whole, and future aspirations of the students that I work with - my four years working in the recruitment field also helps here.

As previously mentioned, I have a deep interest in mental health and wellbeing of students; simply put, the happiest students perform at their best. I feel that there is much value to be added here.

Furthermore, effectively "bridging the gap" as a key point of contact between the student & their respective parents/guardians is crucial; I liaise regularly with parents and guardians of my students, keeping them up-to-date with the tutoring sessions, and how best to encourage positive development of their child.

Taught in primary and secondary schools for 34 years. Over 20 years experience as a deputy headteacher. Have taught the full age range of primary school but mostly KS2 (age 7-11). My main role over the last 15 years has been a Year 6 SATS teacher so I have lots of experience for SATS preparation. I also did a lot of work in booster groups in Maths and English, moving children from level 3 to level 4. I have now been tutoring for a year with children aged between 7 and 14. For the last 3 years I have been a Key Stage 2 SATs marker.

Tutoring Approach:

My main aim is to improve the ability of the children in the subjects chosen. Most of my tutees find the one-to-one personal touch invaluable because it allows me to quickly identify the areas of difficulty and devise a learning programme to meet these at a pace which the tutee finds comfortable. Many of the parents have commented that one-to-one sessions have rapidly improved the tutee's confidence and has frequently resulted in them being moved up groups in the classroom. Other parents have asked me to prioritise my teaching time working with their children on school homework. I like to create a friendly but purposeful atmosphere. I always give time to the parents at the end of each session so they are kept completely informed about my aims and strategies. Personal Description:
I am a professional, conservatoire trained, theatre director, drama and LAMDA teacher based in London. My greatest strengths are my creativity on stage, ability to manage and communicate with people and to generally be an effective leader of different age groups, from Age 5 to Age 65.

My theatre voyage stydying MFA Theatre Directing at East 15 Acting School provided Jacques Lecoq puppet, clown and physical training and core modules examining Shakespeare, musical theatre, opera, comedy, contemporary British writing and actor training which has informed my practice as a teacher and director.

A huge part of my study was on theatre of the East, where I visited Bali, Indonesia for one term to study at Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI Denpasar). Here I had intensive training on forms such as Topeng Masked Dance, Legong Dance, Wayang Kulit and an introduction to Balinese Hinduism and performance cultures along with the opportunity to collaborate with actors, directors and filmmakers, and world-famous industry professionals.

I believe my administrative experience, my sales and marketing capabilities, together with my teaching and theatre qualifications with a healthy dose of imagination and a playful nature have all added to my effectiveness as an director, accomplished administrator, communicator and good all rounder.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked consistently in London theatres and in schools over the last 7 years and most recently have been working as the Artistic Director of Fusion Theatre Company, a company I founded, developing shows, workshops, education packs and training programs for pupils and teachers linking with National Curriculum Topics in order to utilise drama as a tool for learning. Most recently I have set up a LAMDA training section of the company, offering group sessions, duologue and monologue sessions for primary and secondary school.

Although I do the majority of my work within Theatre in Education and drama training, I also am currently the Associate Director of Maverick Theatre, whos mandate is to create reimaginations of classic literature in unexpected places.

Prior to setting up my own company, I was an assistant director, teaching assistant and technical operator at Trent College, for a number of shows, abridging and cutting scripts, marketing the school's productions, organising the shared diary and assisting with general curriculum work, organising year 9 classes and office administration. During that time I also worked as a LAMDA teacher with 14 students of my own, all of whom successfully achieved Grades 2 and 3 at the end of the summer term. During my second year I was given the opportunity to direct my own productions, as well as a substantial pay increase. I directed a sixth form production of "Two" by Jim Cartwright, followed by The Sixth Form Review [a comedy sketch show], a production of "Shakers" by John Godber, and a production of "Equus" by Peter Shaffer, and finally an outdoor theatre production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a year 7 group. Two years of hands-on experience in education taught me the fundamental rules of theatre, production, discipline and how to motivate others to give their best performance.

Theatre plays a vital role in education to nurture and create opportunities for young people, using the arts as a vehicle to understand the world they live in and the people they are as well as develop crucial life skills. I believe that the most effective way to learn is through theatre and performance and because of this I have an incredible love for youth theatre and working with children and find it extremely rewarding.

Since my study, I have been doing workshops and acting courses with students from University upwards. Whether it be a specific genre of theatre or audition pieces.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is completely guided by the person I am working with. My natural instincts as a teacher are to get the student to relate to the material as well as they can by giving them something to compare it with in their own life. As a student of LAMDA since age five and from my extensive experience as a tutor throughout my career I discovered that by adopting a personal approach to teaching and mentoring, identifying the individual strengths of each student, and harnessing and working with those strengths, I was able to yield some incredible results not just within primary and secondary school but utilising this practice for all ages.

Personal Description:
Hi there, I'm a fully qualified, Cambridge educated teacher, specialising in English, History, Psychology & Politics. I am a trained English & History teacher & my degree background in Social & Political Sciences enables me to tutor in Politics & Psychology, alongside my classroom teaching and tutoring experience in these areas. I pride myself on being a fully-qualified teacher who is passionate about learning, transferring my skills and sharing my passion and love for my subjects with others. It is not everyone who is simply good at a subject or who has an impressive qualification in that discipline, who can actually teach it. Teaching itself is an art and a skill and I am proud to be able to use my personal success, pedagogical training and ability to support and inspire students.

I enjoy what I do and I love inspiring and encouraging my students to perform well and to maximise their potential. I have a high success rate and strong track record with my students & I currently teach up to A-level.

My own academic background includes A-level English (for which I obtained one of the top five marks across the country for my cohort of 2004), a 2:1 Bachelors degree from Cambridge University before completing my teacher training on the competitive 'Teach First' fast-track teacher training programme through which, I became a fully qualified English teacher.

I am now a full-time tutor whilst I establish my own business but in my most recent, long-term teaching role (3 1/2 years, full-time up to Dec 2016), I taught both English & history to GCSE level alongside 'Government & Politics' to A-level. I am also confident in the tutoring of Psychology, having studied Psychology (specifically Social Psychology) as part of my Social Science degree from Cambridge, obtaining an A grade at A-level, alongside private tuition success in this area.

Teaching Experience:

I have over six years' teaching experience as an English teacher, four years' experience teaching GCSE history & A-level Government & Politics and two years' experience tutoring A-level Psychology (which I studied as part of Social Science degree from Cambridge, obtaining a 2.1 and an A grade - full marks, at A-level).

I have taught, in full-time positions at high performing secondary schools across teaching English, history & politics full-time and serving as Head of Department in previous roles.

My previous experience also includes two-years of coordinating the whole-school's English & literacy programme for a secondary school in south London. This role included me ensuring that key facets and skills related to English, literacy and academic writing were embedded across the curriculum within each department, across the school (no easy feat!). I have also ran and coordinated English booster sessions for KS3 and GCSE retake students, helping struggling students at C/D borderline or lower achieve their English Language & Literature GCSE grades.

I have a strong track record of success with students, on average achieving 80 - 90% success rate with classes, with private tutoring students commonly improving by *at least* one grade or more. One of my proudest achievements was with a GCSE student who improved from an E grade to a B grade within seven months of tutoring and an A-level student, improving from a C grade at the end of AS to an A* by the end of A2.

Tutoring Approach:

I strive to be rigorous and professional in my approach and fully believe that marking and assessment are key to success, so students must expect homework each session (for which parental support is essential) and I will spend time marking and giving detailed assessment feedback of student work, including marking tutorials with students so they can clearly see where and how they need to improve.

Whilst, I do have quite a driven approach, I am very personable and get a buzz out of making lessons fun, relevant and engaging with a focus on skills and application, as opposed to pure knowledge. I will often use reading materials and stimuli linked to the student's own personal interests, alongside any set texts needed for English literature, as teaching resources for my lessons so that students can build on their skills, whilst using material that motivates them. Furthermore, I apply this same approach to tutoring in history, politics and psychology, focusing on current affairs and contemporary developments in each subject to make the content interesting and relevant.

As a former literacy coordinator, I am also aware that poor grammar, spelling and punctuation are some of the main hindrances to students' success across all subjects and year groups (adults included!), so I put GREAT emphasis on this in ALL my subjects.

On a whole, it is important to me to teach students not only to pass their exams but to actually help them develop the reading, writing, critical thinking and analysis skills that will help them for life. This is the goal I have for my students and for myself.
