Personal Description:
I am a highly trained, experienced, self motivated and flexible individual with excellent organisational/interpersonal and communication skills, able to operate at all levels, with students from all backgrounds and nationalities.
I began my Photographic career over twenty years ago, then slowly slipped into Film making as a natural progression.
I have shot photographic projects and films all over the world, and have been an ambassador representing several schools, colleges and universities whilst involved in this work.

Teaching Experience:

I have over twenty years of Photography and Film making experience, working abroad to shoot several short films in Prague, Paris, Africa and China. I have worked with both African and Chinese students in their countries, shooting a variety of Photographic and Film projects, having spent three months, and one month in these respective countries.

I have over twenty years of teaching/training experience in various establishments, Schools, Colleges, Universities, and with various council's throughout the Midlands. I have over twenty years of experience of dealing with a wide variety of students , from various backgrounds. I have worked with students of all ages, from primary school, to adult students in their eighties!
I have worked with people from mental health units, drug rehabilitation centres, and the probation services, using the creative media and arts as a form of therapy to bring about positive change.

Over twenty years of writing and delivering bespoke re-engagement training courses in a wide variety of areas (including photography, film making, digital imaging, film and media studies, literacy, numeracy, preparation for work training, CV writing, personal motivation and decision making), to disenfranchised, marginalised students.

Excellent computer/I.T. skills using a wide range of high end/professional software for video editing, image manipulation and audio visual presentations/performances.
Extensive experience of curriculum development, development of schemes of work, child protection policies, professional practices, and internal verification of work using assessment criteria from a multitude of awarding bodies.
I have been associated with UK Tutors since 2005.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is a very relaxed, informal one, giving the student ample opportunity to attempt things for themselves, and to allow them to flex their own creative and mental muscles with support and guidance where necessary.
Students are allowed to be themselves, feel relaxed , comfortable, to be able to make mistakes, without the pressure of being surrounded by or judged by their peers.
I often use projects to reinforce creative ideas or techniques, so that students begin to create their own portfolio's of their photographic work or video clips that they can use to create a show reel.

Personal Description:
I choose to study mathematics for my degree as an interests. (so is my interest for physics) After the studies, it is come to me I should share my enthusiasm to younger students as well. Private tutoring as a part time job is a good point to start, with the help from me, I hope students to find the subjects more interesting rather than a dull subject to part in the school.

Teaching Experience:

Qualification-wise, I've got A for Mathematics & Physics at A-Level, obtained MA Mathematics (Hons) from Edinburgh University and MSc Mathematics from King's College London.
Experience-wise, I've become a private tutor for three years now and I had taught over 200 students. The subject include mathematics, physics and mandarin. Range from KS3 to degree level.
Dec 2012 - Feb 2013: Teaching Assistant at Lister Community School
Oct 2014 - Jun 2015: Maths & Mandarin Tutor at Greig City Academy

Tutoring Approach:

For the mathematics and physics teaching, I believe the conceptional understanding is much more important than memorize the method. Once the concept has been absorbed, the method of solving problem become rather trivial. Of course to maximize the efficiency of learning, an interests in the subject is essential. Hence I'd like to increase the students engagement by given information on more practical use of the knowledge or more news on advanced study.

Note: for people asking for university level maths. I will ask lecture notes or at least syllabus. Though undergraduate maths is taught at similar level, there are variation for each modules due to each lecturers' style. Just list a module name hardly tells what topics are required to study. Lecture notes are used to see the way that particular lecture taught, otherwise give me a syllabus I shall use my own lecture notes.

Personal Description:
I am an English and Portuguese Teacher and Translator. I translate and interpret from English to Portuguese and vice versa. I teach Portuguese and English as a foreign language.

Are you considering learning Portuguese? Here are some reasons why Portuguese might be an excellent choice for you:

• Portuguese is the sixth most widely spoken language in the world with over 230 million speakers in four continents.

• The official language of eight countries: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, East Timor, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, and São Tome and Príncipe, Madeira and the Azores.

• Widely spoken, though not official, in parts of India, Macau, Andorra, Luxemburg, Paraguay, South Africa, and Namibia.

• The working and/or official language in important international organizations such as the African Union, the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, the European Union, and Mercosul, the Organization of American States, the Organization of Ibero-American States, and the Union of South American Nations.

• Brazil is a 21st-century economic and industrial powerhouse. It is the 5th largest economy in the world, recently overtaking the UK's economy.

• Numerous scientists consider Brazil to be the country with the most important biological diversity in the world.

• You want to learn Portuguese as it's your partner's native language and you want to improve communication between you.

• I teach European Portuguese (Portugal), Brazilian Portuguese (Brazil) and African Portuguese (Angola and Mozambique).

So what are you waiting for? Come learn Portuguese.

Are you considering learning English? Here are some reasons why English might be an excellent choice for you:

• English is the first language of approximately 375 million people, is the official language in 54 countries and is the third largest language by number of native speakers, after Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

• When combining native and non-native speakers, it is the most commonly spoken language in the world.

• The importance of learning English cannot be overstated in an increasingly connected and globalized world.

• For the many people that come to the United Kingdom from non-English-speaking countries every year, learning to communicate in English is important to enter and ultimately succeed.

• Working knowledge of the English language can create many opportunities in international markets and regions.

So what are you waiting for? Come learn English with me.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 10 years of experience as a teacher. From 2004 to 2006, I worked as a History, Portuguese, English and other subjects tutor to primary and secondary students. From 2006 to 2012, I worked as a tutor guiding students in preparation of essays and dissertations in many different fields. Since 2012 I work as a full time Portuguese and English teacher in UK. I have experience with one-to-one and group lessons; beginners, intermediate, advanced and proficiency levels, present tuition and online tuition via Skype; teaching children from the age of 2; preparation for GCSE and A-level exams (OCR board); general training and language training for business purposes.

I have a degree in History with a teaching certificate which included one internship at a secondary school as a teaching assistant. I have a CRB and a DBS check. I did a 3-month training course for teachers at SLAS (Society for Latin American Studies) in 2012. I am flexible about working hours and commuting to work.

Tutoring Approach:

• General training: I teach how to use Portuguese in everyday situations, like introducing yourself to someone; giving personal information; going to a restaurant; asking directions; making a reservation in a hotel; using public transport, etc.

• Business: My teaching method is based on a communicative approach, focusing on achieving fluency, improving reading and listening comprehension, and expanding vocabulary. I teach the use of Portuguese in a variety of business environments, based on key skills like presenting information, taking part in meetings and videoconferences, handling telephone calls, negotiating and writing concise business letters, e-mails or reports.

• E-learning: My e-learning method is specifically designed for adults who may have limited hours available, prefer the convenience of learning online and need to improve their Portuguese language skills quickly.

• GCSE and A-level exams: I coach the student using past papers, besides writing, reading and listening exercises.

• Children and Teenagers: My lessons for children and teenagers are varied and enjoyable, with music, culture, and multimedia features to make the learning process very enjoyable and practical.

Personal Description:
I'm a Beijing-born writer and teacher, winner of international prizes for Chinese writing, and author of best-selling non-fiction books. I first came to the UK in 1994, after studying history and culture in China. I'm married to a well-known British translator of Chinese, and I live in Whitley Bay.

Teaching Experience:

I taught Mandarin at Newcastle University Business School in the 1990s, when I also taught business people in companies such as Yves St. Laurent, both one-to-one and in small groups. I also gave supplementary tuition to British undergraduates in reading, writing, listening and speaking Mandarin, on a one-to-one basis.
I taught Mandarin in Hong Kong from 2000 to 2009, to all age groups, from toddlers to retirees, both privately and in companies; I taught both Cantonese speakers and non-Chinese English speakers. I also taught at the Hong Kong Open University.

Tutoring Approach:

I have worked on one-to-one and small group teaching: I like an interactive situation where tutor and student work out the student's needs together, and the tutor helps the student to meet his/her goals by acting as facilitator and learning advisor.
My focus is on learning, and not on teaching: it is the tutor's job to help the student learn better, until the point is reached where the student has become an effective and autonomous learner, and no longer needs a teacher.
Many of my students have become friends and remained friends.

Personal Description:
Hello there, I am Tina. I am a native mandarin speaker from China and have over 3 years teaching experience.

I was awarded `Outstanding Trainee of 2012 Confucius Institute Chinese Teacher training`.

My aim is to give fun, effective and personally tailored mandarin lessons to my students.

**For children, We are learning while playing games, singing, drawing and doing different sorts of activities. We make simple Chinese food, taste it and say it. We make our unique decorations, sing songs and dance around. We trace & write Chinese characters, hang them around the house. We have lots of fun while we progress in our mandarin learning.

**For GCSE or A-level students, We not only master the textbooks(listening, speaking, reading and writing), we also explore the beautiful eastern culture, study authentic Chinese stories and make our own stories. We practise past papers and make sure the preparation is done thoroughly and well. Meanwhile, we always have fun.

**For adult students, I tailor my tutoring to their individual needs and requirements,
+ looking to impressing your Chinese girlfriend's family;
+ making Chinese friends;
+ building a rapport with your Chinese business partners;
+ having a holiday in China;
+ studying or working there,
We will find the best way for you to learn. I encourage my adult students communicate with the language they have learnt and help them build up their confidence. We do lots of role-play based on real life situations. My students learn to talk confidently and build up their vocabulary steadily on the way.

Tips:
1. For travelling to China, you should learn travelling topics as well as daily small talks, which will helps you have a easier trip and make friends on your unforgeable journey. ++Numbers is the No.1 thing to learn.++
2. For making friends or impressing someone, don't forget to learn a couple of Chinese songs, which will definitely earn their favour. We have Karaoke at every corner of China.
3. For exam participants, practising past papers is a short-cut to your success.
4. For Mums, Children before aged 13, they have an area in their brain which help them learn languages as mother tongue and they don't translate the language, while after 13, that area will close and it becomes a lot harder to learn foreign languages.
5. Learning languages never be effortless, however, it can be easy and enjoyable if you find the right way.

I am available on Monday to Thursday daytime and some evenings; but my available time is changing, please don`t hesitate to drop me a line if you are interested in learning Mandarin. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Personal Description:
Please, feel free to contact me to see my works - I will send you the link via e-mail.

Who am I? I am a creative female human being, who is about to graduate in BSc (Hons) Architecture. I have been:
• breathing for 23 years;
• creating art for more than 12 years.

I am a darling of fortune. I do what I love and love what I do. Moreover, in my case, it is the most precise definition of my future career. I am in a deep, incurable love with Rain, Poetry, Black Coffee, Philosophy, Books, Music and any manifestations of elegant, thoughtful and inspiring Design & Art in all areas of life: from the greatest "Bilbao-effect-Architecture" from Powers-that-be at all times (starting with Ancient innovations to Modern Deconstructionism) to the 50's rockabilly dresses in my wardrobe.

Teaching Experience:

Mostly, I privately tutored children every summer between 2005-2009, helped primary school teacher to prepare art classes. I am currently looking forward to expand age category of my tutees.
I am now starting tutoring again after a break (since 2009), therefore, references will be available soon.

Tutoring Approach:

Before I start tutoring I always prefer to arrange a meeting to have a chat about what your requirements/preferences/needs are first. Once this is discussed, I take couple of days to arrange a brief plan for our lessons, which will be sent to you by e-mail. That way we adjust it together and I have time to prepare helpful information/books/software etc. for you. Once it is confirmed we arrange the date for the first lesson.

Personal Description:
Hi! I'm Lorna.

I teach English as a second language.

My initial training in this saw me complete a BA Hons. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) & Linguistics at the University of Wolverhampton. I then went on to complete a CELTA or certificate in English language teaching, with Cambridge in Mallorjca.

After teaching English for a couple of years in the South of Spain, I came back to the UK to complete my Masters in Linguistics at the Univeristy of York. I then went on to teach English for academic purposes at the University of Birmingham.

I have also taught online and managed summer courses in the UK.

My teaching is student-centred and communicative. I think that I'm a fun and friendly person and because of this my classes have a good atmosphere.

I can help you to improve your General English, guide you with secure English language tests, such as IELTS or Trinity ISE and GESE, or can help you with a specific skill or focus.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Teaching Experience:

I have taught and managed on English as a second language courses abroad, in the UK and online. I currently have a number of private students in Wolverhampton and the Black Country who study with me for a number of reasons, including Trinity GESE B1 preparation, IELTS, help with general English, etc.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching style in communicative and student centred. Lessons, courses and classes will always be planned and prepared specifically for my students.

Tutoring can take place in Wolverhampton or in the student's home or workplace.

Personal Description:
I am approachable, reliable and trustworthy, and have worked with children and young people in education, child care and the charity sector.

I hold a 2:1 BA in Criminology (Youth Justice) and am looking forward to beginning Primary Teacher Training (PGCE) in September. I am a native English speaker and have an enhanced DBS check.

I am currently a teaching assistant in a primary school year 4 class. I provide Maths and English interventions to small groups of children, as well as one to one support.

My experience as a child-minder to children aged four to six shaped my decision to pursue primary teaching as a career.

I have also volunteered as an Independent Visitor providing friendship and support figure to a young person with aspergers syndrome, in care of the local authority, a role I found extremely rewarding.

Teaching Experience:

Whilst at university I elected to complete a placement year volunteering as a Supported Housing Assistant at Centrepoint. My primary role was to manage, develop and deliver the AQA accredited 'Lifewise' workshops for the 44-bed service. I was delighted to win the award for being innovative, empowering, inspiring and professional during my time at Centrepoint.

Tutoring Approach:

A grasp of maths is essential to everyday life and therefore a high quality mathematics education provides a foundation for understanding the world. I believe anyone can achieve with the right teaching and environment. I aim to develop a love of learning and an appreciation, curiosity and confidence about the subject by building a dialogue with children, allowing them to take ownership of their learning, and providing engaging and stimulating lessons where mistakes can be made and solutions can be found together.

Personal Description:
I am a university student who has been studying martial arts since I was six years old, and have studied multiple systems and styles. I grew up in south-east London and have (sadly) had to apply what I train in and teach a few times. I am energetic and enthusiastic person, and very happy to work with anyone and everyone. I am in good physical shape, and charge exceptionally reasonable rates for the level of experience I have.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as an assistant instructor at my home dojo for many years, teaching all levels of experience and all ages. I have taken on multiple private students in the past, and can provide complementary training for those already practicing, and complete ground-up tuition for those who are looking to start.

Tutoring Approach:

I use an individual approach, and can teach entirely to the students needs due to not dealing with lots of students at the same time. Alongside traditional training systems, I use modern conditioning exercises and training tools. I can be very flexible in my schedule, and teach both during the day and in the evenings. I generally use simple, flexible lesson plans, and can deal with personal training requirements very easily, due to having helped with students with special needs before.
