Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic person, like sports and travel, very easy to get along with ; )
And I am Chinese, so want to find some one interest in learning this very widely used language.
I took Mandarin Proficiency Test and got First upper. I am currently a mandarin supply teacher at Newecastle Mandarin School, and a Scouts volunteer at 5th North Shield, I love those kids. Also I was a suport staff at a summer camp in Canada this summer,2009.

Teaching Experience:

I taught a Spanish girl for almost 3 years during my university, also teaching some of my foreign friend Chinese free of charge. Now a mandarin sunpply teacher and activity teacher at Newcastle Mandarin School based at Jesmond.

Tutoring Approach:

I will prepare reading material and lialogue regarding different levels.
Each class there will be a dialogue of different topic, which enhance the tutee's vocabulary.
Then lead to reading practise related to same topic, I will explain all new vocabulary and grammar whin the reading material.
After that, I will also deliver some listening practise of small dialogue or some Chinese songs to relax if it is a taugh class.
Last thing may be a homework for review the class, that would never be a boring one, I promise.
For a certain duration there would be some little test to let me know how much my tutee mastered the language and make sure I can prepare well for the later duration.

Personal Description:
Hi,

I am a 25 year old male, a Malaysian native and a UK resident, and I'm looking to tutor students part time on the subjects listed. I am currently a professionally qualified accountant, working as an auditor in the Oil and Gas industry, and am currently in the finishing stages of qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW. I am also a masters graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the Imperial College, London. My pre-college qualification was the International Baccalaureate, where I achieved a score of 42/45.

I have a passion for teaching and am looking to spend a few hours every weekend on coaching interested students.

Teaching Experience:

I have no formal teaching experience, however I have spent some time teaching English and Mathematics informally in a tribal school when studying for the International Baccalaureatte. I have also spent a few weeks tutoring in a school in Uxbridge during my university days.

Tutoring Approach:

I am serious about teaching, but have a laidback approach to coaching my students. I believe that understanding a concept is much more important than memorising a list of facts. Hence, I emphasise to my students to spend time appreciating a problem, understanding what is exactly required to answer this problem, and then to apply basic principles in answering the problem. This approach will guarantee success, as oppossed to the frustrating method of memorising and not comprehending.

Personal Description:
My name is Rachel. I am an enthusiastic, experienced tutor from the Reading area, offering my services in a number of different subject areas - English Literature, English as a Foreign Language, Philosophy/Critical Thinking and Media Studies.

As an individual, I consider myself to be conscientious, organised, personable and passionate about teaching; I am not averse to a challenge, and enjoy learning new things and meeting new people. I am a non-smoker, who likes to be active, enjoys reading and writing, music/theatre and travelling.

In July 2009 I graduated from the University of Bristol with a 2:1 Honours degree in English Literature and Philosophy. I am extremely driven by the pursuit of knowledge, and have always enjoyed passing my own enthusiasm for learning on to others, both adults and children. As such, straight after finishing my degree, I moved to South Korea to teach English as a second language, which provided a great opportunity to travel and experience a completely new culture, as well as allowing for the development of my teaching skills. As a recent graduate with relevant work experience, I offer a fresh, while still knowledgeable and skilled, approach to tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching/tutoring experience is as follows:

- Reading/Writing mentor during secondary school and whilst at University (secondary aged children); lessons usually on a one-to-one basis,

- Teacher of English as a foreign language for the summer-long 'Enjoy English Programme' 2008, in the Basque Country, Spain. I taught lessons in English based around songs, sport, drama, arts/crafts and games, culminating in a show at the end of the programme (primary aged children).

- Full-time ESL Teacher in Suwon, South Korea. I taught 4 - 14 year old Korean children the English Language, particularly focusing on phonics, pronunciation, grammar, spelling and conversation skills. Class sizes ranged from 1- 11.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is simple - I aim to provide my students with the most enjoyable, yet efficient learning environment possible, with the obvious aim of improving the student's ability in their chosen subject area. Furthermore, I aim to build a rapport with each of my students, which means they enjoy learning, rather than seeing it as a chore. My lessons all have clear aims, which I achieve through solid lesson structure and effective teaching technique, yet are exciting and stimulating for both student and tutor.

Personal Description:
I am 63 years old with a lot of experience in maths (see below). For more than 20 years, I worked in foreign aid programmes in different African countries. I like problem-solving of all kinds. I also play the guitar badly, mainly blues and pop from the 1960s; in addition, I like to go walking in the Yorkshire dales, to push myself physically. I also occasionally play badminton and swim (not simultaneously), and enjoy using the computer for various activities from Photoshop to Visual Basic programming. I am self-taught in electronics, and am always trying to create new gadgets, much to my wife's annoyance.

Teaching Experience:

I taught maths at secondary school level between 1968 and 2000. In that time, I also worked as a teacher trainer of maths teachers, and as a lecturer in first-year maths at university. Since 2000, my main work has been in educational planning with a local authority, but I have also worked as a GCSE exam marker and as an Open University tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

I love the challenge of maths, of trying to solve problems, of using my brain to see how to approach a new puzzle, and it is this enthusiasm that I try to share with students. I believe everybody is capable of learning maths at least up to GCSE Grade A, once they have been helped to overcome some of their barriers to learning. I help students identify what and how to study, and to identify areas of weakness in their background knowledge. I believe that the main way of learning maths is by doing maths - not tedious exercises, but a carefully arranged sequence of problems that develop concepts and understanding.
