Personal Description:
I am currently undertaking a funded History PhD at King's College London.

I hold a Masters in Renaissance and Early Modern Studies for which I was awarded a distinction and full funding as well as a BA Hons (First Class) in history and politics from the University of York. Given this, and my A Level subjects, I can offer private tuition in history, politics, geography and law, in preparation for GCSE, AS and A level exams. I am an organised, committed, reliable and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with children and young adults, helping them to develop their understanding and interest in a variety of subjects.

I have tutored for a number of years, and have helped those I tutor to significantly improve their exam results and grades, often taking them from C and D level grades up to high As and Bs. My most recent tutee, who I tutored in GCSE Geography and History, acheived an A* in both subjects and came top of his year at school for his GCSE grades.

I am also happy to offer any help I can with university applications.

In the lead up to the exam period I can provide intensive revision sessions and/ or revision guides for any of the subjects listed below.

References can be provided upon request.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored since 2007, and have helped those I tutor to significantly improve their exam results and grades, often taking them from C and D level grades up to high As and Bs.

For several years I have undertaken a variety of volunteer projects, working within schools/ educational environments and with children :- this has included working at the University of York, Barley Hall (York), Westminster Palace and the Tower of London. Whilst working in these environments, I conducted a range of independent historical research projects. I then planned educational sessions based on these materials, which I then delivered to school children of various ages and abilities. It was necessary to ensure that the material collected was not only historically accurate but also easy to understand and enjoyable to learn about, helping the children to develop an interest in different periods of history.

Tutoring Approach:

Whilst tutoring I would pay particular attention to the needs of each student, and tailor their study courses to best meet their needs and wishes. My approach to tutoring emphasises clarity, flexibility, and an enthusiasm for learning, within an informal and relaxed yet structured and interactive environment. I would encourage students to think imaginatively and challenge themselves academically, encouraging debate and broadening their horizons. This would not only help to improve a child's examination technique but also their academic development.

In the lead up to the exam period I can provide intensive revision sessions and/ or revision guides for any of the subjects listed below.

Personal Description:
I am a native Greek speaker, born and bred in Athens. I am also fluent in English and have lived in England for 13 years.

I am keeping in close touch with Greece and the Greek language, which allows me to maintain my fluency, accent and knowledge of the country and the culture.

Teaching Experience:

I am an English teacher by profession and taught Greek students in language schools in Athens for fifteen years.

My students attained excellent examination results throughout my career from junior to advanced levels.

I also held private tuition throughout this period.

Since coming to England, I have taught Greek privately to English speakers who were interested in acquiring knowledge of the Greek language for various purposes such as holidays, purchasing property in Greece (holiday homes and permanent residence) and people who wanted to enter themselves into the Greek GCSE exams.

Tutoring Approach:

First of all, I am a sensitive listener.

I am patient with excellent skills in conveying my knowledge to my students. Focusing on helping students to feel confident with the various aspects of the language without judging them.

Finally, I firmly believe that practice makes perfect, which is also my most significant approach to teaching.

I believe it is important that lessons are interactive and fun. The lessons are customised to the student according to their personal needs, following an initial friendly telephone discussion.

Tutoring Approach:

I use a number of essential books and they all depends on the students' levels and preferences. I sometimes mix chapters and books to deliver effective results and tailor classes to students needs.

My workplace has boards, a printer and I use videos if needed.

I teach from my teaching centre. It's a friendly, non-judgemental workplace that has all the necessary tools for teaching, including white boards, sheets, two computers, Arabic books, fast broadband and free tea and coffee. Also, The building has free, secure parking, a waiting area for parents accompanying their children and CCTVs everywhere :-) So, hopefully students will find that arrangement convenient and relaxing.

I aim to provide a solid grounding in Arabic, English and Koran while paying close attention to the needs of the individual. Learning should be fun and engaging, not a sort of punishment.

When teaching Koran, I don't impose my views on the student. I only educate him/her on what the text says and leave its spiritual interpretation to his/her judgement.

Personal Description:
My professional profile is mainly divided into two areas: Environmental Biology - Natural Science - Italian teaching/translation.
Professional competences on the Environmental Biology - Natural Science field have been acquired during my undergraduate studies in Ecological Science and Environmental Education and the master in Biodiversity and Environmental Quality (both with first-honours grades). Several internship/volunteer activities and training courses have enriched my curriculum on this area and allowed me to enhance my knowledge and expertise.
The Italian teaching area has been developed during the last 3 years (two of which have been spent in United Kingdom), even though I have been passionate on either linguistic structures or teaching/learning processes since High School, inspired by the family atmosphere in which my parents and some relatives transmitted me the passion.

Teaching Experience:

I have a three-year professional experience in teaching lessons of Science and Italian language (6 courses to date, including a special "food and language" course for a company) for individuals and small classes, and I have been an External Examiner for the GCSE Italian Language exam.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a friendly, calm and patient tutor that really loves teaching in a comfortable, positive and supporting ambience. I encourage you to participate actively to the lesson, and, according to the purpose, I promote activities, games and practical exercises focused on your needs. I do not prefer explaining concepts using only schematic structures, but I try to understand your main needs and gaps and I tail the lessons to your specific learning processes.
All levels are covered.

Personal Description:
I am a First Class Honours LL.B. graduate. I recently completed my LL.M. in Law at King's College London. I also received The Thomson Reuters Law Prize for Best Undergraduate Law Dissertation and have received many firsts in my law examinations and essays.

I strive to achieve the best possible results I can.

All students have the potential to be the best. It is the teacher who must hone this and let the student shine. Tutoring can make a great difference in a student's grade if it is done correctly. I believe that students need practice, confidence and time to be the best they can.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously had experience being a teaching assistant in English, Maths, History and Biology at a Primary School to Year 1 and 2 students. I held this position for 2 years.

If students in a class of 30 did not understand what a teacher had taught them, I would sit down individually with these students and ensure that they understood what was being taught before giving them a set of tasks to test their knowledge.

I have also proofread and helped students from GCSE level to postgraduate level to understand how they can achieve better grades in coursework components. This is especially true for English and History GCSE to A-Level students and undergraduate Law students.

I can also help Law students use the OSCOLA referencing system and make sure they have used it correctly throughout their work.

This would especially be helpful to students who do not use English as their first language.

I have also been tutored previously during my A Levels and I understand the skills and needs that a good tutor needs in order for a student to achieve their best potential.

I am very happy to help tutees improve their coursework and essays.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it is imperative that students will come away with new knowledge each tuition session. Due to this, I am always happy to change the structure of my teaching for the benefit of the pupil. I will be prepared for all lessons and will provide homework which will gauge the student's performance.

I will identify any weak areas a student may have and focus on improving these areas. Exam and coursework technique will also be improved along with providing students with good revision habits and tips.

I will seek feedback from students so that I can keep improving my methods and so that they can ultimately benefit academically from this.

Personal Description:
I am an engineering masters graduate from the university of Aberdeen, and the founder of a digital skills education training company.
I am a calm and friendly person, who takes great care in each individuals academic development.

I have an excellent understanding of Mathematics and Physics, subjects which were the basis of my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. I am enthusiastic and passionate about these subjects and enjoy imparting my knowledge unto my tutees and inspiring them.

In my free time, I am an avid reader and a keen sports player.

Teaching Experience:

I began tutoring in 2009 with
Experience in tutoring undergraduate students in Mathematics
Experience in tutoring maths at A-Levels, Highers, GCSE, Standard grade and KS3 levels
Experience as digital skills tutor to elderly, disenfranchised and marginalised members of society

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach, is built on understanding the students learning styles, their strengths and weaknesses from the very onset. This allows me to tailor my approach to best suit their needs. The learning experience is one of comfort and energy.

I work on building the students confidence in the subject, by creating an understanding of the very basic concepts, before building on from there.I keep the student fully engaged, and apply a wide range of resources to enhance their learning experience.
