Personal Description:
I am 22-years-old and I am currently undertaking a Master's degree in Development Studies at the University of Oxford. I graduated in July from the University of Leeds with a 1st Class Bachelor's degree in French and Spanish. I also hold a Professional Tutoring Certificate from the Tutoring Standards Agency, for which I was awarded a Distinction. I completed a term abroad in Granada where I took an intensive Spanish language course. There I acquired a level C1/2 according to the European framework of reference for languages. I spent one academic year in Paris where I was a British Council Language Assistant teaching English as a Foreign Language in two secondary schools in the suburbs.

Teaching Experience:

I undertook a seven month teaching placement in Versailles, France (October 2013 - April 2014), where I taught English as a Foreign Language in two Secondary Schools. I have also given private lessons since 2012, as well as teaching private English lessons in France. One girl I taught increased her grade from a B to an A* in her French GCSE oral. Furthermore, I assisted language classes at my school between 2009 and 2011 for years 7 - 11.

Tutoring Approach:

My approaches are various. Having completed my A levels and GCSEs relatively recently, exam technique is still fresh in my mind and I hope to be able to teach students how exams work as (perhaps unfortunately) this is very important these days. However I am a strong advocate of instilling the foundations of language, namely grammar and vocabulary, as this is how I learnt best and how you can understand a language. I also believe in immersing yourself as much as possible, for those who are serious about learning a language - by watching films, TV programmes, reading books and writing. Practice is vital if one is to achieve a high level and there can be no short cuts. I am also happy to work through topics in a textbooks and helping with exercises as, as mentioned earlier, practice really does make perfect.

Of course, lessons will be tailored to individual needs, and they can be as formal or informal as one likes: from straight grammar to half an hour of chatting for those who aren't learning a language for an exam, for example.

Personal Description:
I enjoy maths and helping other people to enjoy it too. I have always kept up my interest in maths by studying with the Open University and I particularly enjoy finding ways to use games and puzzles to create interest and understanding. I worked in business computing and always enjoyed the training side of the job. At the moment I am working as a private tutor, helping my husband to renovate and restore a seventeenth century house and training an unruly young sprollie dog.

Teaching Experience:

I have a PGCE in secondary maths teaching and taught in a secondary school for one year. During my career in IT as an analyst/programmer I trained staff in programming techniques, and also trained users as part of the implementation of the many systems I was involved in. My enjoyment of maths and teaching led me to refresh and extend my skills by studying for a PGCE in post compulsory education. During the course of this I gained experience of whole class teaching, one to one and small group tutoring at GCSE and A-level.

I have now been working as a private tutor with individual pupils for a year and am learning all the time! I have experience of students taking GCSE maths for the first time and with those doing resits. I can offer tuition up to AS level (C1, C2, S1). I have experience of working with students with dyslexia. I am also an Adult Education Tutor and work with people returning to maths later in life.

Tutoring Approach:

I love helping other people to understand and enjoy maths, and I know that the classroom is not always the best place to do this - many people need the individual attention that one to one or small group tutoring gives in order to bring up their basic skills, learn to build on them and so gain confidence and enjoyment. Maths is too often the subject that people learn to hate and fear - a little one to one help can turn all that around. I aim to give my students a good understanding of the subject rather than learning one-off tricks and rules.

The following is an unsolicited testimonial from one of my tutee's parents:

"Deborah is a very professional tutor and always tries to make our son's weekly maths tutorial as beneficial, creative and enjoyable as possible. She is very dedicated and prepared to listen and help and follows up her tutorials with useful homework for our son to work on during the week. You can see how much personal satisfaction she gets from helping our son, which is great.

I would not hesitate to fully recommend Deborah and her approach to tutoring maths. She clearly cares about her work and helping children to get to grips with maths."

I am a friendly and enthusiastic Spanish tutor who studies English Literature at York St.John's University. I'll be gradutating next year and am willing to continue teaching whilst living in the UK.

Personal Description:
I would describe myself as a very determined and highly motivated person. I do take my job seriously but I'm able to see things in perspective and believe I'm quite easy-going to work with. I'm an optimist rather than a pessimist - but I'm also a realist and I cope well when the going gets tough; I'm very good at finding solutions to problems. Above all, I would say I'm a positive and enthusiastic person - and I relish a challenge.
Careful planning is critical to my ability to get things done: planning, organisation and action. I rely heavily on 'To Do' lists. These enable me to capture and record everything which I need to action. I maintain a master To Do list but also have separate To Do lists for each particular project I'm handling. I review these at least once a day so as to identify my priorities. I always aim to focus on tasks which have deadlines attached to them and also tasks which will achieve the most in the shortest space of time. Less important items I will either postpone, delegate or, if I am unable to clearly identify the benefits, remove from the list completely. While I have a very heavy workload to juggle I find that these systems enable me to always keep one step ahead and to ensure that nothing slips through the net.

Teaching Experience:

Sep 2008 - May 2015,Private Lesson Tutor in Sciences (Mathematics-Chemistry-Physics-Biology)
Private Lesson Tutor in Greek and English
Worked with students in small groups of 3 - 4 to help develop their basic knowledge and understanding of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology
Conducted face to face and Skype lessons
Produced bespoke lesson plan based on the child's needs
Helped with completion of courseworks and assignments
Provided support for exams and test preparation
Provided regular feedback to parents and informed them about their child's progress
Worked with kids and adults of various ages

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to make children feel quickly at ease with my warm, 'can-do' approach, and boost their self-esteem with lots of praise. I focus the lessons on whatever the child most needs to learn and where possible like to link in with what the child is currently learning at school. Using this approach, the child gains confidence through learning, and away from a packed classroom is able to discuss areas they feel they need to improve in an open and honest way.

Personal Description:
** LIMITED AVAILABILITY - 90% booked until Summer 2017 Exams **

Ultimately, your choice of tutor can be one of the most important decisions you make as a parent or student.

With this in mind, you need to choose a tutor who is appropriately qualified, experienced and most importantly - whom has a solid track record of success...

So why me?
- I am a qualified teacher (graded outstanding);
- I am a former head of department at a Surrey sixth form college (one of the best in the UK);
- I studied the Barrister Professional Training Course where I further honed my communication skills;
- I have literally thousands of hours experience as a Private tutor working in both London and Surrey - I know the exam content inside out;
- I have an army of former tutees happy to personally recommend me and who can attest to my incredible success rates;
- Some of my former clients include royalty, celebrities and officials; and
- I have over 10 years experience as a private tutor and have worked with students from over 40 Countries!

If you get the choice wrong, not only will you have wasted a substantial amount of money and time - but you will most probably find yourself in a position where any remedial action is even more costly from both a financial and time perspective.

You wouldn't want anyone but a dentist to pull out a tooth, so why would you risk your education with anyone but a teacher?

Teaching Experience:

I qualified as a teacher (graded Outstanding) from the best PGCE provider in the UK (Canterbury Christ Church University) while working as a graduate teacher at one of the top sixth form colleges in the UK. I went on to become Head of Department and the subjects I taught at the college included:
- Law A Level
- Law Btec
- English/Maths/Science GCSE
- Business BTEC
- English as a foreign language (TEFL) and SEN (Special Educational Needs)

My tutoring Experience:
- Over 10 Years
- All subjects to GCSE
- English, History, Maths and Science to A Level
- Law to postgraduate / professional.

My degrees and Teaching qualifications:

- Barrister Professional Training Course (BPP)
- PGCE (Canterbury Christ Church University)
- 1st Class LLB (Nottingham Law School)

Tutoring Approach:

I am very exam and results focused.

In my experience, not only have I found this to be by far the most effective way of tutoring - it also allows the student to get a solid appreciation for typical exam content and style along with boosting exam comfort and confidence!

That said, every student is different. I have had students who could only understand algebra if I drew it out on my Ipad, and even a student who could only learn legal cases from illustrations...

Tutoring Approach:

My approcah to teaching is best summed up as student-problem-based learning, in which the student attempts to solve problems that they have identified as of stimulating interest to themselves and relevant to their intended qualifications. I believe that all learning starts with the student's own first rudimentary explorations of an issue. I act as a conversational and critical guide through this journey, providing reading material, questions, and formal techniques of citation.

My YouTube channel, currently with 38,000 view, is available for my students to consult.

Typically, a student will select an issue/question in philosophy, we will discuss it one-to-one, and then the student will produce a short essay on the issue, which we will critically discuss in the following session.

I am also available for one-on-one study days (consisting of 6 hours each) for 160.

Personal Description:
I'm 17 years old and am a current student of the Sixth Form at St Bartholomew's School. The four subjects I'm currently taking are Maths, German, History and Politics. In my AS levels I received an A in all three subjects I took, including in Maths. I am a big sports fan and am known to often watch football games at Hungerford Town and Reading. I can also be found at most Wales international home matches. I have experience in volunteering as a befriender for the Alzheimer's Society.

Teaching Experience:

I have a Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership, a course which I undertook alongside GCSEs, where I coached children in Years 3-6 to play sports. At school, I was a year long mentor for new Year 7s as a Year 9.

Tutoring Approach:

Patience is key. Children and young teenagers, who may find maths difficult, can easily become frustrated. It's up to a tutor to let the child overcome their frustration by enabling them to solve complex problems and to make maths interesting. It's often challenging for children to use up their spare time for extra tutoring, so tutoring must be enjoyable and enlightening in equal measure.

Personal Description:
My name is Gur, I'm a theatre and performance maker and a Hebrew tutor residing in London since July 2014.
I was born in Israel in 1986. I grew up in the outskirts of Tel- Aviv and lived in Tel-Aviv most of my adulthood. I attended the prestigious arts school Thelma Yellin followed by the Yoram Lowenstein acting Studio where I graduated in 2009. I completed a Master's degree in Performance at Goldsmiths University of London in 2016. Alongside tutoring I have been presenting my work in different venues around the UK, Royal Vauxhall Tavern Hall, Greenside at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Belgrade theatre in Coventry, and the Camden People's Theatre. Of the latter, "Don't F**k with my Unicorn!", Tim Bano wrote for "The Stage:" Gur's montage piece is a bewildering celebration of those quirks -like a unicorn horn that makes us unique -a skewering of contemporary culture at every level"

Teaching Experience:

Since 2015 I have been teaching Hebrew in London, there are great results and moreover Hebrew tutoring provides me with a connection to my roots. In my productions I put an emphasis on the actor or performer and I am experienced in achieving a result that will satisfy me and my actor.
I am hard working and I believe in contributing to my community. For two years I have been donating my time to teach theatre at a religious kindergarten in Tel-Aviv. in 2015, I have taught acting as a volunteer at the CEN8 Organisation in New Cross.

Tutoring Approach:

This add up to his statement that the performer "lives truthfully under given imaginary circumstances", hence, I highlight the tension between the performance actions and the performer's mode on stage.
Together with the performer I encourage building an inner-monologue combined of images and sub-texts, to enrich and create an extra layer to the performance. This technique helps to build a frame work that allow us to develop an organic flow. The use of sub-text enables us to act truthfully, feel organic in the moment and react only to what is happening on stage.
I have a vast knowledge in theatre plays and I can offer my tutees a verity of texts to work with and be inspired by.

Personal Description:
I have 3 years experience tutoring Science and Maths at various levels. I have a degree in Biomedical Sciences and 4 A levels in Science and Maths.I hope to put the large amount of knowledge I have acquired from my studies to good use. I have a passion for science and maths and experience teaching them at various levels that should make me an ideal tutor for many. I am dedicated, motivated and always put 100% into everything I do.

Teaching Experience:

I have 3 years experience tutoring Science and Maths at various levels.I have experience working within a local high school helping pupils in classes in maths and science throughout my time at sixth form. I also have a large amount of experience in tutoring fellow students through my time at school and sixth form. I was deputy head boy and prefect during my time at sixth form as well as working within the science department as a laboratory technician. These roles involved working with both fellow student and teachers to understand their needs and help improve various areas of the school.

Tutoring Approach:

I fully appreciate that despite best efforts being made by both student and teacher the environment of a classroom is not always the best one to achieve one's best. The one on one nature of my tutoring allows me to identity the specific needs and learning styles of each student and work with them in a way best suited to them alone. Tuition also leads to interest and engagement in a subject that can be impossible within a classroom. It is this interest that I strive for and try and enstill in every student I teach. So that even when are sessions are over students want to return to work and be able to review it on their own.
