Tutoring Approach:
I try to give the student a space in which to learn. This means being careful not just to always offer information, but sometimes to listen and to allow students to work out a problem for themselves with a little guidance. The key is to give help so that they learn to do two very important things: solve a particular problem or fulfill a certain task, and learn how to explain how they did. This I find instills great confidence in their abilities. Of course I will also answer questions and provide relevant information when needed. The most important part of my job is not to give them the fish, but to teach them how to fish for themselves.
