My private 1:1 tutoring often involves preparing students for 'A' Level, college and university or building portfolios for further education.

Many of my university students have gone on to be leading professionals in the creative industries, but you may wish to have lessons to improve your technique of a media or drawing application, as a leisure painter.

Tutoring Approach:

My background is in natural history illustration and wildlife art, working in a variety of media including; watercolour, acrylics, graphite and oils. However I can plan engaging lessons that will help you develop an understanding and skills to convey tone, form colour and light for whatever subject you are interested in.

A chance reading of the local press pointed me in the direction of university. After completing a degree in English, I embarked on a career in teaching - a vocation which took me to the Middle East. Personal Description:
Hello there! My name is Tanyel and I am an undergraduate student at King's College London. I study BA French and Management and will be entering my second year in September.

I am available to tutor over the summer 2013 starting immediately, with a possibility of continuing this for when I am back at university.

Teaching Experience:

I have a wide range of tutoring experience. This originated from when I was in Sixth Form and developed a knack for explaining things to my classmates and friends. Since then, my enjoyment in tutoring has led me to be involved in two tutoring projects. This is both privately in my local area and also voluntarily, the latter being with my university and an organisation called Team Up ().

Tutoring Approach:

We would work through a main textbook (CGP range seems to work best) and I provide explanations in a clearer, more interactive manner to clarify understanding. I then set homework tasks based on what we have learnt. I can connect with all my students on a friendly level in this way, pausing to answer any questions, whilst ensuring progression and focus at all times. I have seen this approach work countless times in my experience. In some cases, students enjoy it so much they ask me to set them even more homework!

Personal Description:
I am very passionate about films, theatre, the media industry. I am currently in my second year of a BA Hons in Film Studies at Edge Hill University, living away from home during the week but always available on weekends. I am hardworking, dedicated to my studies and after my undergraduate degree I am hoping to continue my studies with a Masters degree.

I also love to learn languages, currently able to speak 4 fluently (English, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi) and also learning Spanish in my free time.

Teaching Experience:

I have a younger sister who is following my path into Film Studies, not knowing a thing before starting her A Level in it she is now predicted an A*. I have held short after school lessons for her and other family members in this particular field and the outcome has always been satisfying.

I have also started my TEFL course (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) which helps me gain a qualification in teaching the English language.

Tutoring Approach:

The lessons will be about the student, and not the teacher. Therefore everything will be tailored to areas you wish to improve (spoken communication, written skills, reading, accent, listening)

I have a calm and relaxed approach to tutoring, understanding the problems and weaknesses in people and using those to bring out the best in them. If I can see passion within the student then I will do my personal best to bring out the potential in my students.

Personal Description:
Physics MSci graduate from Imperial College London. 1st class result achieved and ranked within the top 10% of my year. Alongside my physics studies, I'm an active musician - a member of the Imperial College Symphony Orchestra, Imperial College Big Band and former member of the NYOW - and an aspiring software developer.

Teaching Experience:

Since beginning 6th form, I have tutored local secondary and primary school students privately, arranged official after-school revision sessions for GCSE students with my school friends, partaken in numeracy schemes for younger secondary school students requiring additional assistance, and was required to present topics, such as energy wastage, to KS3 classes as part of the Welsh Baccalaureate (which I also passed but was unable to fit in the Qualifications section below).

In my second year of university, I enrolled in a Communicating Physics course which entailed visiting, teaching in and providing teaching resources for a London secondary school for a period of 11 weeks. This is also indicative of my continuing enjoyment of, sharing my understanding and passion for my subjects with younger students.

Tutoring Approach:

Enjoying the experience of learning and understanding is, I feel, of utmost importance to academic success. My approach to tutoring is one which promotes this.

Personal Description:
Hi! My name is Hana and I am very excited at this opportunity to become a tutor.

I obtained 10 GCSEs, including an A* in French and English. I then moved on to take the Intenational Baccalaureate rather than A-levels which improved my general skills as well as subject knowledge. I achieved a level 5 in both French and English Literature (both at higher level).
I am currently studying French and Art at university.

Teaching Experience:

A few years ago I did a week of work experience in a primary school, working with children from the age of 4 up until the age of 11. During this placement I assisted with English and reading, art lessons and French lessons. The experience was very rewarding and I even received (handmade) presents from some of the students when I left!

Very recently I worked and lived in a château in France for 8 weeks, vastly improving my level of French during my stay. I also began to teach some French children a bit of English, but most of my time was taken up speaking French with the locals and visitors who came to stay in the château.

I have also helped my younger brother and neighbours with homework and revision several times!

Tutoring Approach:

I hope to tutor in a fun and practical manner, using art or memory techniques where I can! I can change my approach depending on the age of the person being tutored, as well as their individual needs and requirements.
I myself find that colours, pictures and interesting work sheets can aid learning and revision, thus I will try to incorporate these where I can!

Personal Description:
I was born in Xi'an China, where the Terracotta Army were found also a birth place of Chinese history and culture. I graduated from a Chinese University with BA degree in English. I studied Chinese language and culture all the through my school life. I have worked as a tour guide, part-time teacher and a business man in China.

I moved to UK in 2001 and settled here with my family. In order to continue my enthusiasm for teaching Chinese in the UK, I have attended the prepare to teach course in a local collage to learn about the different theory and approach of teaching in the UK, which has helped me greatly.

I like history and culture and I love teaching people Chinese language and culture.

Teaching Experience:

Part time teaching in state school in China
Private tutoring since 2005 in the UK
the main teacher for our local Chinese community Chinese learning class which is held every Saturday in a local council library and it has been running for 3 years.
City and Guilds Certificate of Level 4 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) from Stafford College.

My previous and ongoing clients include Crossbow Education Ltd, Aldi Superstore, Orangetek Ltd, plus many individuals from Burton on Trent, Wolverhampton, Stoke on Trent, Stafford and surrounding areas.

Tutoring Approach:

I understood that a native speaker of one language is not automatically a language tutor, especially when teaching someone with totally different language and culture background.
I understood that younger people and the wiser people would like different approaches of learning.
I understood different learners have different motivation and target of learning, either business or leisure.
I provide one to one teaching or in a group, I use self designed learning materials to make your learning more personal and fun.
Homework will be given each time, as commitment and disciplines are fundamentally important.

Personal Description:
I am 30 years old and recently moved to Leicester city, UK.
I am reliable and kind with great sence of organization and attention to detail.
Diligence and consistency was always important to me so I require the same from others.
I have a Proficiency certification on English language from Michigan University and a diploma on Applied Foreign Languages on Commerce and Administration from Epirus Technological and Educational Institute.
Moreover I have been taught commercial and administrative terms on English language, plus specific grammar and vocabulary issues on Greek language on Epirus Technological and Educational Institute.
To sum up, I have a good level on teaching fields I chose on the previous part, certified by Univeristy studies.
Finally I would like to mention that Greek is my mother tongue and have studied it for about 13 years and speak since I was born.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience on English language is one year private lessons (2014) on A2 level student.
About Greek language I have not any professional experience but as it is my mother tongue I am able to teach it through my studies and personal experience.
About History and IT teaching I have the appropriate knowledge through my certified studies and personal awarness.

Tutoring Approach:

My way of approaching to Tutoring is first of all the continuous information and reffered teaching stuff.
I believe that studying is not just an obligation for the student. Tutor has to be prepared and informed even for the most less significant detail.

About the student, I strongly believe that patience and reward can create miracles!
Even if the student is difficult, the Tutor has to find the appropriate way to approach him/her and give the right reason for interest.
