I have been teaching various subjects since 2006 which include dance, french language, greek language and english language. I always have my classes organised to achieve the goals that my students have in a specific amount of time, not time-wasters please:) I am currently a Visiting Lecturer in Universities.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring for me must have a methodology and a structure. It always depends on the needs of the student, the goals and the time available. As long as you know your aim, we can work around it together.

Personal Description:
I am a student at the University of Bath and am currently in my third year of a four year course, studying BA French, Italian and European Studies (History, Politics, Culture and Literature of Europe). In compliance with my degree, this year must be spent abroad and so I have just finished my summer employment at a private language summer school in Belgium, working as an English teacher.

I teach French on Twitter, where I have over 16,000 followers and regularly respond to questions and update my page daily with useful phrases, every day speech and more complex language issues.

My passion for learning and teaching languages stems from when I moved to France at the age of 13 with my parents, not one of us spoke a word of the language - other than the vague memories of the beginnings of GCSE, with the only words springing to mind being 'ruler' and 'pencil'. It's really just not ideal when you're actually in the centre of a new culture, and not in a classroom.

I didn't have friends for the first few months there because of the language barrier (it didn't help either that I was home-schooled so it was incredibly hard for me to even meet people!). So I just had to learn the language. In teaching myself it, I know what works, I know the easiest ways to memorise words and phrases, I know what to do and what will be easiest for you.

After three years of living in France, my parents decided to move back to the UK where I continued my language studies at a scholastic level; completing my AS Level and my A2 Level in French, gaining an A in both.

My passion for Italian stems from my father's family being Sicilian. We moved there, also when I was 13, however, sadly we only spent a very brief time there - it was a spontaneous country-hop so we really just were not prepared for the culture shock. Again, none of us spoke the language, so I began teaching myself and then continued again when I came back to the UK to study.

English is my native language and I have taken my A Levels in English Language.

Teaching Experience:

While teaching, my classes would change weekly, so during my stay there I gained the experience of teaching 9-17 year olds, with English levels ranging from absolute beginner, A1 to almost native, C1.

I gained many skills, including, but not exclusive to, classroom management, lesson planning, evaluating language levels at the beginning and end of the stay of the children, meeting parents and giving feedback and of course, teaching full days; my teaching day would even include private one-to-one lessons. I would often deal with situations that required being able to think innovatively, without guidance and under pressure so I have gained a considerable amount of confidence and self-discipline due to my work there and I have improved my time keeping and organisational skills.

I have also been privately tutoring children, from 11 to 14 years old, for over two years now, via Skype. So even if the distance seems too far - teaching via Skype is an option.

I tutored one of my students through her French GCSE and she gained an A*. I was always available to prepare her - even the day before her exams. She only ever felt confident to go into any of the modules (be it speaking or writing).

I really care for the children that I tutor and am proud to say I have been there to help them with all aspects of their schooling, from homework help, to exam preparations, extra work and even life lessons - I'm very personable, patient and overall positive and happy so am always willing to give advice and have really become a friend to my tutees. We've also worked on all subjects, everything from science, to history, to music, to teaching the time and additional mathematics help.

Please see below for feedback from previous families that have found me on this site:

------------------------------------

Bianca taught my daughter French all of last year. Her teaching methods were relaxed and fun, and our daughter's French improved dramatically in a short space of time. Equally importantly, we were totally comfortable with having Bianca in our house; I often went out, leaving her alone with our daughter, without a second thought.
Bianca is polite, respectful and trustworthy. Her teaching is fun and motivational, and our daughter is very fond of her.
I have no hesitation in recommending Bianca as a teacher and au pair.

-------------------------------------

Bianca has tutored my 3 children for over 3 years and her work with them has been invaluable. We lived in France for 7 years and when the children returned to the UK they found some subjects difficult, especially as one of them began high school.

Bianca has an incredible way of teaching that totally captures the child's attention and she engages and connects with them in a way that makes learning easy, practical and fun.

Bianca helped my children improve their grades and they passed all their subjects under her watch and in fact Bianca could help them in any subject they asked for help in.

My middle son was terrible at focusing and organising himself and Bianca was able to help with fun tactics to help home organise and to study. The projects he did with her were fantastic.

Bianca also coached my eldest to an A* in French GSCE a year early and she encouraged her to aim high.

Bianca is also a wonderful role model and my eldest aspires to be like her, she says she would like to go to Bath University to study languages like Bianca.

Bianca brings out the best in the children and overall she is one of the most sincere, loveliest helpful people I know. She is intelligent and entertaining and I wish her well! We miss her enormously!

Tutoring Approach:

I do it the right way, the way I would have wanted to have been taught. No unnecessary memorising. No difficult approaches. No complex babbling.

I won't just be setting you work, I will be working with you. All you need to do is let me know what exactly you want to learn. Even if your answer is 'Everything!', then we'll get down to it.

This is simple. So, let's do it!

Personal Description:
Hello! My name is Eva, and I would describe myself as a very warm, friendly, straight forward and patient person, with excellent communication skills. I have an incredibly strong academic record (A-Levels: English Literature-A*, Drama-A*and French-A) and a genuine love for reading, theatre, and music. I feel passionate about bringing success and confidence to those I teach, and I aim to inspire my pupils to have a real interest for the subject!

Teaching Experience:

I have regularly helped younger siblings with English homework, and given them the confidence to become braver and more vocal in the classroom. I am able to clearly explain exam and revision technique - which is often the key to improving grades.
I have previously set up a school drama club, and have led games and prepared lessons for groups of children. I enjoyed the challenge and process of this hugely, and know from verbal feedback that they did too! I hugely value the time I spent with these students and their inquisitive minds. As a result of my commitment to this club I was awarded the school's Eunice Hobbs prize for Initiative.
During my degree I was given the role as music teacher, singing teacher and pianist for one of the productions that was being put on. I enjoyed this hugely, and found the work to be incredibly satisfying. The group was made up of university students who had a huge range of musical abilities, and I feel that I was able to attend to each individual's needs by giving clear explanations and ways to think about music.

Tutoring Approach:

I graduated from Guildhall School of Music & Drama with a First Class Honours Degree, and feel that this is a wonderful foundation for tutoring. I feel passionate about helping pupils with Drama, English, or Music, and believe that I would be able to give excellent tutoring lessons. I feel very confident in one-to-one teaching scenarios, and believe I am sensitive to an individual's needs. I do not believe in "one size fits all", and am a great fan of finding out the right way and approach for everyone. Having rigorously gone through GCSEs, A-Levels and then a degree myself, I know how vital it is to feel confident in your own revision technique. I think it is also important to have a sense of fun when learning - and I believe I can bring this to the lesson!

Personal Description:
Hi, I am 19 and currently studying engineering at The University of Sheffield. My interests lie very much in academia, majorly, in mathematics and physics. However I also spend my spare time swimming, cycling, socialising and travelling. I have been described as being approachable, easy to talk to and 'good at explaining things'. I offer my first hour of tutoring free of charge.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for over a year now and I had 8 regular students last academic session whom all gave positive feedback after sitting their exams. I also have tutored GCSE and lower school pupils in the capacity of a teachers assistant in my spare hours during my time in 6th form (a level studies). In terms of A-level maths, I teach C1, C2, C3, C4, M1, M2, FP1, D1.

Tutoring Approach:

I very much believe that the best way to teach is through clear explanation and, where possible, an explanation of the root of things. For example, where particular formulas or ideas are derived from. I also believe every student is different and may require different methods of teaching, perhaps not available in the classroom. I feel am suited towards students who may feel they learn better if they are tutored by someone who is more of a peer than a teacher. I currently only tutor online, as this allows me to offer more time slots to students.

Personal Description:
I have just recently graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in English Literature & Language. I am very passionate about literature and history outside of a teaching capacity. I have decided to begin tutoring since graduating as I would love to pass on my knowledge and teaching to students of all ability. I am also a mentor to students in my local community I have interests in football, quizzing, drama, and cinema.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring students for over four years in London and Oxford. I initially began tutoring friends and family for GCSE History, English Language and English Literature. Soon I decided to take it further and began tutoring people in my local area. In my time as a GCSE tutor I have managed to push students from C grades towards B's and above.

I also tutor in AS/A Level English Literature and History. For AS/A Levels I regularly focus on exam technique and try to improve on essay structure.

Tutoring Approach:

When I arrived at Oxford I began tutoring students taking their A-Levels and my tutoring proved successful as many of my students went on to achieve very top marks in their exams. By focusing on bad exam technique and trying to eliminate common mistakes in essay writing it allowed me to greatly improve ability. Encouragement is something I have always found to be a worthy asset in tutoring as it empowers the tutee and provides the comfortable atmosphere needed for the student to excel. I aim to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that differs from the classroom so students can get to appreciate the texts and their various nuances without the pressures of a classroom.

I am a recent graduate Durham University, and have been teaching A level Psychology over the last year. I have a passion for learning, and aim to inspire others to love learning in the same way. Being a recent graduate, and a teacher in a secondary school, I can appreciate how difficult keeping up with everything that life has to offer, whilst achieving your maximum potential. As a result, I am very excited to offer students the opportunity to gain extra help, and keep them on the right track.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working at a secondary school for one year, as a teacher of A level Psychology and as a cover supervisor. I have covered GCSE science for a short period. I have also tutored in English, and run small group Psychology tutoring sessions twice a week. As a result, I am very experienced with the new specifications across Psychology and GCSE Science. I also have an abundance of resources readily available for students to use.

Tutoring Approach:

I adopt a fun but progress driven approach to tutoring. I want to not only get my students achieving their potential and beyond, but to inspire enjoyment in learning. This will involve a wide variety of resources and tasks, which can be tailored to suit the needs of all students. On first meeting with a student, I will establish preferred learning strategies and adapt my sessions to suit the needs of that individual. I also take advantage of technology including apps for Biology and Psychology.
