Personal Description:
I have been teaching for over ten years now and have many years experience in industry as well. I currently Director of Learning for Business & Economics, and for eight years I taught at Roundwood Park School in Harpenden as well as teaching in at Caddington Village gaining me an experience of how students learn from 3-13 years old. I have tutored all levels and every exam board and the students I have taught have all gone on to university with some of them going on to Oxbridge Universities to study economics. I have references if you wish.

Teaching Experience:

I ran the A-Level business course and most of the GCSE course I also taught the majority of economics. In recent years our Economics results were in the top 2% of the UK for AQA. I trained at STAGS and Dame Alice Owens but predominately in Roundwood Park.

Tutoring Approach:

I am happy to have it fairly structured or pupil lead depending on what you prefer. I will provide the student with hundreds of additional files to continue and aid their learning. At A-Level I often find that the focus is on the writing style, therefore, I tend to focus on that whereas at GCSE I tend to go through the theory as well as key exam tips.

Personal Description:
I am a 32 year old female professional, with a First class Honours Psychology degree and full Primary teaching status, as well as specialized experience, skills and knowledge in working with children and young adults with severe learning disabilities.
I am well-traveled and moved to Brighton in the summer of August 2008, to experience life near the sea within the UK. I have also lived in London, Australia and New Zealand.
I practice Hot Yoga and am a keen runner as well as a scuba-diver.

Teaching Experience:

I am in my ninth year as a qualified teacher and have worked within education of young people, particularly those with special needs, since I was 16.
I worked within a nursery over a 3year period, covering sickness and holiday relief, caring for children from all ages between 6months-5 years.
I have taught in all Primary year groups and currently have a Key Stage 1 and 2 class, specializing in Autism. I am up to date on many special needs provisions and have strong behaviour management skills. I am also a middle manager and the lead teacher for Literacy and Numeracy, for students ranging from age 5 to 19 years of age.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning should be enjoyable, interesting and applicable to real-life. Education lacking these elements will not, in my mind, endear itself to young people.
I am fair and consistent and expect high standards from all my students. I will always endeavour to cater for personal needs and to make learning individualized and therefore accessible.
I will not accept laziness but I will accept honesty - if a student finds something difficult, they know to tell me in order that I may assist them and overcome that particular hurdle.
When I am tutoring at GCSE and adult level, I also endeavour to make the sessions motivating, but ensure they are more student-lead and will scaffold the sessions but find tutees have more success when they are able to be guided rather than dictated to.

Personal Description:
I am a TEFL teacher with a university degree (Music) and am from London. In my day job I work in a music company. I also teach English to foreign students in London, having worked for 2 years in British Council accredited language schools both in London and Portugal. I am a very friendly person and really enjoy teaching any age group.

I have taught English at all levels from Beginner to Advanced, plus Business English and conversation classes. I have a Music degree and play and teach the Recorder, as well as giving lessons in music Theory. I used to work for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in the syllabus department, so have great insider knowledge about music exams. Additionally, I also used to mark Theory papers, so know what examiners are looking for.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to be as learner-centred as possible in my teaching. First I will conduct a needs analysis to assess a potential student's level and to identify the areas in which they would like to improve and their preferred learning methods. I encourage my students to actively participate in my lessons - it will not just be me talking. I aim to make lessons fun and engaging, as I believe that students learn more when they are interested in the material given.

Personal Description:
A first class Medical Sciences graduate and qualified teacher, I have over 5 years` experience in teaching/tuition.

Well-versed in most major exam boards, I am able to work successfully with students across all levels of attainment in order to further their understanding of core scientific principles and enhance their exam technique. My position as an assessment specialist with two of the major exam boards has enhanced further my understanding of how credit is awarded in exams - enabling me to not only improve students' subject knowledge, but to improve their approach to exam questions as well.

I take a positive and friendly approach to tuition, and am happy to be flexible in using the methods that best suit the student.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a private tutor since attending university in Exeter, and have helped students to improve on their grade by up to 3 grade boundaries over time.

I taught professionally for two and a half years, training through the prestigious Teach First programme. My progress was judged as outstanding. I was consistently judged good/outstanding, both internally and by Ofsted, and I was a lead teacher in my last role.

Tutoring Approach:

Largely, this will depend on what the student is hoping to achieve. I appreciate that, most often, a student's aim is to achieve a certain grade in an exam. In these cases, I will spend a lot of time working with the student to familiarise them not only with the material for the exam, but with the format of the exam paper, exploring how to approach different types of question and working directly with mark schemes to best understand how credit is awarded.

I am, however, passionate about my subject, and aim to uncover some enthusiasm for the sciences with all my students, through engaging sessions in which we can explore topics in perhaps more detail than is often possible within schools.

Education:
- GCSEs (2A*/8A) and A-levels (AAB) at top grammar school
- BA Hons in English Literature at Oxford Brookes
- MA Distinction in Creative Writing at Oxford Brookes

Awards:
- Upwork Top Rated Verification (Jul 2016)

Career:
- 8 years' creative copywriting experience
- Fiction praised by authors including Tobias Hill, Philip Pullman and Sarah Dunant

Teaching Experience:

I founded a private tutelage company aged 16, helping those in lower years while studying myself.

I then worked for two years with a private Oxford tuition company, as well as conducted further independent tuition work to supplement my academic studies.

As I am just 25 years of age, I recall the sensations of academia and am able to communicate effectively with your child to promote to them their worth as an English student.
