Personal Description:
I am BA (Hon) graduate and Professional Freelance Translator, Interpreter and Private Tutor.
I am married with a 15-year old son.

Teaching Experience:

Following my degree, I returned to Spain to teach English for a year.
During the past three years I have taught French and Spanish on a one-to-one basis.

Tutoring Approach:

Based very much on what the learner wants to cover. Once we have agreed the initial starting point, I would advise that they purchase a suitable language course book with CD/DVD so that they will be able to consolidate what they learn in the relaxed but structured lesson with me, and also continue to listen, and speak in the chosen target language between lessons.
Although the lessons with me will be structured, I will go at the learners' own pace and ability, consolidating as we go along, and introducing fun exercises and games by way of revision, and also give constructive advice about what other resources can assist them.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Kevin, a friendly and approachable full time Maths tutor with a patient and empathetic attitude.

I studied Maths at Uni after gaining 11 A grades at GCSE and 4 A grades at A level (Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry) and since then I`ve worked as both an Accountant and an Actuary.

I`m an intelligent guy with the ability to break things down to their simplest forms, but am also patient and a good listener with the ability to understand the way someone else thinks about a problem. I think its these qualities that combine to make me a natural tutor and time after time I`ve experienced that when people have a problem understanding something, its been me they`ve come to.

One of my recent reviews:

"My son was struggling with his AS level maths course having failed to keep up with the pace of new topics
in the Autumn term of 2012. Relatively late in the day before the exams in May 2013 we were fortunate
enough to get Kevin to help him and there was a complete transformation of his confidence and approach
to maths. Before Kevin's intervention my son had achieved U, D and E grades in various mock exams but
in test papers before the actual exams he was getting results right at the top of the grade spectrum. I cannot
recommend Kevin too highly for his technical expertise in the subject or for his organised and sympathetic
teaching approach which was essential in my son's case. Kevin brought my son order and confidence out of
confusion and despair"

Teaching Experience:

I`m experienced and happy to tutor at any level KS3, GCSE, AS and A-level, QTS Numeracy exam (in fact, adult learners in any field needing a maths/numeracy refresher).

I also tutor for business school and foundation year maths exams eg GMAT, NCUK IFY etc. (Please ask for rates for these exams).

Tutoring Approach:

Let me know what your aim is - whether it be to understand that topic/module you 'just cant get!', or to go through past papers, or to learn a whole course from start to finish, and between us we can agree the best approach for you, and prepare a plan of action to ensure you achieve your goals.

Personal Description:
I am a retired R&D Scientist, formerly with H.M. Government, where I was involved in a number of projects in the field of electronics and communications.
I am married to a teacher (who is qualified to B.A and PGSE, and is also a private tutor) and now successfully tutor maths and physics to GCSE and A-Level from home.

Teaching Experience:

I am a graduate of Queen Mary College, University of London where I obtained B.Sc (first class) and Ph.D. After getting my Ph.D. I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow where, in addition to my research, I had a number of teaching duties, including lecturing to an M.Sc. course on digital processing.

I have been tutoring GCSE and A-level since 2006 and have achieved notable successes including A and A* grades.
I will be pleased to pass on names of referees to potential students.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the best results are obtained by kind, confidence-building one-to-one tuition so that lessons and homework can be tailored to the student's individual needs and speed.
I like to keep the lessons reasonably informal so that the student does not feel under undue pressure, but has time to acquire a deeper understanding of the subject. I reinforce the student's knowledge by working through examples, both from textbooks and from past papers.
I work very much as part of a team with my wife Sue, who tutors the younger students, while I concentrate on the GCSE and A level students. So while this listing is in my name, she will probably take over those in school year 4 to year 7. We do not tutor students below year 4.
Sorry, but we do not travel to students because we find it far more efficient for students to visit us at home, where we have all our reference material and teaching resources to hand.

Personal Description:
I'm a graduate-entry third year medical student at Imperial College London. I graduated from the University of Sheffield with an upper second class honours degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2012. In between my two degrees I worked as a Medical Assistant in Paediatrics A&E at St George's Hospital, I admire the energy that young people have and found working with children so rewarding. My education and work life has equipped me with solid communication skills, and the ability to work with a vast range of people. Pursuing a path in science has required a lot of motivation, whilst studying for my degrees I consider that my organisational and time-keeping skills have been vital. Despite my background in science I have always maintained a creative side too, and have a keen interest in literature and the arts.

Teaching Experience:

Taking part in numerous voluntary projects has given me a lot of opportunity to teach, both one-to-one and in group scenarios. Whilst volunteering at my local hospital I helped on the children's ward to ensure the patients were not missing out on their education. This included helping children of all ages with their coursework and school syllabus'. I took part in a project based in South Africa teaching at an orphanage, this was a challenge due to the limited resources available, and a language barrier. However, using innovative ways as a team we were able to conduct lessons teaching English, Numeracy and Music that were accessible and enjoyable for the children. During my university career I have completed assignments presenting my own research or ideas to groups of students and tutors, this required explaining concepts in a clear and concise manner. Over the past two years I have tutored several students privately. I have found this experience rewarding and am very proud of their achievements.

Tutoring Approach:

I am always keen to share my enthusiasm in the subject that I am teaching. I am aware of the importance of maintaining a student's interest in the subject. In order to do this, I believe it is vital to assess each student's style and tailor my teaching towards their individual needs. I am very patient, and am happy to explain concepts in numerous different ways to ensure that a student is comfortable. I approach work in a professional manner, and appreciate the importance of time-keeping and dependability.

Personal Description:
I am a second year student at Reading University studying Mathematics, who is active, organised and reliable.

Teaching Experience:

During my two years of sixth form, I was the sole student studying Further Mathematics AS. As such, I had to help my peers from different years with their studies.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is that I must first recognise where the student is having problems, and then to tackle these gaps in their knowledge with my help.

Personal Description:
Covering letter and statement

I believe art has always been a universal language, between people from different cultures and people of same culture but with different backgrounds, interests and experiences.
To me, art has to give a message, a feedback to the society and creates a some kind of social awareness of changes that always happen in our world.
In my work, I like producing art pieces which will bring people together in a discussion or an argument. To make them stop and think about things in life they may never considered before, which they will only enjoy doing so through the fantasy of art

I have been a loyal student to BCU, where I obtained, both my Fine Art degree and my MA in Art and Education Practice. Planning for my PhD research study too. This post will help me through my research and will give me a good access to both teaching and research. I have been looking for this opportunity to teach alongside my PhD study.
I became a practicing artist and researcher in the subject of Britishness and modern values since 2003. Working from my studio as well as researching . I am interested in culture diversity and community. I am quite focused on research and combining my work with strong evidence. I also have been teaching Arabic and have strong knowledge of the Middle East culture and I can give support to students coming from the Middle East, including helping them to gain confidence and engage with other fellow students. I also have great experience with special needs, being a mother of an autistic boy.
I have been developing my research skills for 13 years. I am quite an independent researcher and always looking for new methods to reach the maximum point I get to with my research. I believe in creativity and in carrying out new methods that suite different projects. Supporting my art work with strong research give me great credibility.
Supporting others too is a great passion for me. I always been involved in teaching both Arabic and art. I like passing my experience and knowledge to students, directing them to new research methods and making them independent researchers themselves. Good results requires good supervision. I believe students fail when they were not giving the right support or did not have a supervisor who understands their potential and help them enough throughout their study.

Khloud

Teaching Experience:

I have been also teaching Arabic to all age groups both in schools and privately for 16 years

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy working with others in their projects and I like engaging them in mine. Good team work is essential for me. I have great experience in communicating with people of different cultures and backgrounds. I always update my research and analyse my outcomes and findings regularly. I am quite calm and patient. I listen to students and give them time, attention and respect.
I believe in fairness and equality. I have a great respect for education and all what it stands for in terms of diversity and giving equal opportunities to every student and member of staff. Helping others reaching their potential in a safe environment is essential in education programs and practices
I am most interested in helping students becoming Encouraging creativity in research carried out by students. No limits.

Personal Description:
Hello,

My name is Zoe. I am a PhD, experienced teacher, tutor and youth worker. During my career, I have seen how young people can easily be the victim of missed opportunities through various reasons. It was my desire to leave teaching in order to pursue that which inspired my long journey: to make a difference in a young person`s life, who truly needs it.

I now run my private tutoring business to provide a personal scheme of learning carefully tailored to each individual.

Also, I provide a free half an hour "Meet and Greet" session where we can discuss in detail expectations, prices and curriculum.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience as a teacher at Secondary School and College level. I have been with the Youth Offending Team for a few years now and have specialist training in various types of "difficult" behaviour.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a tailored approach. Each person is an individual. Through a Meet and Greet, we have the opportunity to get to know each other and so I can get to know the student's needs and curriculum. From there, we can work together to create a tailored scheme of work and activities.
