Personal Description:
I am very patient and tolerant but very effective in imparting right techniques in Maths. I encourage independent thinking and asking questions. I am currently teaching in a Sixth Form college and I have a good experience in teaching AS/A2 Maths, Accounting and Business Studies.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching to sixth form students for quite a long time now and have delivered excellent results. After completing my Master's in International Business, I have been working at Independent Sixth Form college in Birmingham since September 2010 teaching AS/A2 Maths, Accounting and Business Studies. Working in a sixth form college has given me immense confidence to deal with students.

Tutoring Approach:

I put a lot of emphasis on past papers and exam reports as its very important to read Examiner's Mind frame before attempting any paper. I believe that examiners understand the mind of a student through his/her written attempt, not how hard a student has worked or how impressive his subject knowledge is. In order to facilitate this, I have a vast resource of Past papers and Exam reports which prove quite conducive for my tutees.

Personal Description:
Of my Law, Sociology and Maths students 25% attained an A*and 35% attained an A grade last year. I have extensive experience delivering the year 7 to 11 math curriculum to both children and adults, Law and Sociology at all levels. I hold a Law degree, a PGCE, a teaching qualification for the delivery of Maths, a Masters degree in Sociology of Education and am currently studying for a PhD in Sociology of Education. Very friendly and able to identify the individual learning needs of my students.

Teaching Experience:

During my six years of employment in schools and colleges, I have taught AS/A2 Law and Sociology to students aged 16 - 19 and Maths to younger learners. Students have consistently attained grades that rival private sector provision. In my role I hope to improve the prospects of students who desire places at university. Further to this I have tutored Law and Sociology at undergraduate level, ensuring students attain 2.1 outcomes.

My specialist areas of interest are international law, European union law, human rights, discrimination policy, religious freedoms/speech, reform and sociology.

Tutoring Approach:

I have received three consecutive `excellent` reports on my practice in the classroom.

I deliver lessons that are prepared with up to date knowledge of developments in the law and case studies often contain a Welsh dimension. Hand-outs and PowerPoint resources will always accompany lessons.

Prefer to keep things informal and friendly. Prefer to deliver in 2-3 hour teaching blocks.

Personal Description:
SAXOPHONE-I am an experienced saxophonist. Currently I play both alto and baritone saxophone. I have taught young pupils at my old school before for free, but now that i have gained enough experience, not just as a teacher but at a very high level in bands too, I am starting to tutor. I teach many different styles, have it be jazz, pop or classical. I offer tuition for students of all ages. Whether you are young and just starting out or older and wish to try something new/different for fun and want some guidance in the right direction, I am here to help. I teach for those at a amateur and beginner level. Music is a great passion of mine and I really enjoy teaching others something so great.

MATHS- I am a higher level maths student and i have an A grade at GCSE level maths. During my free periods i spend time helping lower school student who are struggling with their maths for free because i really enjoy teaching. I teach everything from key stage 1,2 and 3 maths to foundation GCSE students. Maths has always been a great ability of mine and I mainly teach it because I have a love for it and in my experience those who i have taught have found me very helpful.

Teaching Experience:

SAXOPHONE- I have taught young pupils at my old school before for free to gain some experience in teaching. I also play at a high level in the Hillingdon Music Service concert band and Sax Group, as well as in multiple Jazz and Big Bands.I have been on tour to France with the Music Service as well and have played for weddings too. I now have a good level of experience in both playing and teaching.

MATHS- I have been teaching GCSE and lower level maths for a few years now. I was part of a team who a few years ago went to the UK maths challenge representing my region of London. I enjoy teaching maths and in my experience those who i have taught have found me very useful.

Tutoring Approach:

I find that bringing out the passion in the student is what counts, so for music the genre they enjoy most and helping them fall in love with music that way. With maths i believe having a strategic plan of getting a topic or part of maths that the student is struggling with and keeping at it and doing questions and going through the solutions with them until they understand. I understand that many people struggle with maths or may not like it but i find that someone younger (such as myself) teaching them makes it a lot easier on them. Another good way i find with maths is going through questions and helping them understand how to get to the answer rather than just giving the answer and moving on with a simple tick or cross.

Personal Description:
I have a PhD in Physics and BSc Maths/Physics Jt Honours 1st Class. I am a co-author of over 60 peer reviewed papers in science journals and was a research scientist for 27 years in the world renowned Daresbury Laboratory of the Science and Technology Facilities Council which helps keep the UK at the forefront of international science and technology. I ran the operations of a world class X-ray photoelectron spectrometer for a wide range of applications in physics, chemistry, biology and material science.
I am a qualified martial arts instructor and teach the Chinese Wing Chun system. I believe sports can contribute towards an all round education and under proper supervision, martial arts can offer health benefits and is beneficial for mental and physical discipline. I am also interested in the promotion of the Chinese language because I am of Chinese origin and can speak Cantonese and Mandarin fluently. I also enjoy salsa dancing, music, fell walking, yoga and travel.

Teaching Experience:

Although semi-retired, I am still passionate about science and after gaining my PGCE teaching qualification in 2012, I am now embarking on helping GCSE and A level students with private tuition. My vast experience in training postgraduate students and working with scientists in solving real problems both academically and in industry brings in an invaluable real life dimension to the learning experience of the students.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching is conducted in a relaxed but studious atmosphere and is tailored to individual needs with realistic targets. I use effective questioning and past examination papers for assessment which allow students to monitor their own progress.
I was a 16 years old migrant from Hong Kong when I first came to England in 1973, so I can certainly relate to problems such as racism, misunderstanding of and by others, loneliness, lack of empathy and learning barriers.

Personal Description:
I graduated in Classics (5 years) in Italy. I made extensive studies in Ancient Greek and Latin languages and literatures. The final thesis dealt with the historical fragments of Cato the Censor. I am now leading a research doctorate in Roman history at the University of Newcastle. The research concerns the tribunes of the plebs within the Mid-Republican period (218-134 BC), especially focused on the political role of the tribunate in shaping the Roman politics through their legislative action. My first language being Italian, lessons are available both in English and in my mother tongue. As for the Italian literature I can cover all the centuries of its great history, from the pre humanistic time (Dante, Petrarca, Boccaccio), until the twentieth century.

Teaching Experience:

I have had experience of teaching in the italian school as a substitute teacher of Latin, Italian and Ancient Greek at the Liceo Classico. I also taught at Universities, most notably Latin and Ancient Greek, in quality of private tutor.

I run seminars in Roman History during the first academic term (2015-2016) at Newcastle University, focusing particularly on the works of the Greek historian Polybius, Sallust's historiographical view concerning the role of the common Roman people in order to determine the events described within the Bellum Iugurthinum, and the political issues of the last period of the Roman Republic that emerge from Cicero's speech Pro lege Manilia.

Tutoring Approach:

Lectures, with particular attention to the requests of the student. Translation exercises (focused on the morphology and syntax of both Ancient Greek and Latin), which are essential to strengthen and, if necessary, to deepen their knowledge of the classical languages. Additional readings compared to the tasks assigned by the school.

Personal Description:
My name is Kay and I have 17 years' experience as a tutor in all of the following subjects and levels:

1) English at Primary level (Years 1 to 6), KS3 , GCSE (Language & Literature) and A level Literature.
2) Maths at Primary level (Years 1 to 6).
3) History at KS3, GCSE and A level.

I also have 20 written references from parents, for students of various abilities, across all these subjects and levels.
I have an English-related degree (in History- which included some English modules within the degree), and I have a Level 1 City & Guilds Teaching Certificate in English.

I also have a proven track record of improving student's grades, regularly improving them by 1 to 2 grades, often in less than 1 year's tuition. For example, in English, I recently tutored a student at GCSE level- he had been predicted C grades in both Language & Literature, but after just 8 months' tuition with me, he achieved an A in his GCSE English Language exam and an A* in his English Literature exam. This is typical of my success over the years as a tutor.

I use National Curriculum Resources for all tuitions. Furthermore, I have great experience tutoring all abilities from the gifted and talented to those with Learning Disabilities (I have regularly taught students with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Asberges).

I can either travel to the student's home or they can come to me. I am available to tutor on all evenings of the week, Monday to Friday, as well as in the daytime.I tutor through most of the School holidays, providing the opportunity for students to put in extra revision during these periods.

Teaching Experience:

As a full-time tutor, I have built up an extensive knowledge of the National Curriculum and the various exam boards.
I have also built up a wealth of National Curriculum Resources for English, Maths and History : my 3 main subjects.

For English, I have resources covering the following: Spelling, Punctuation, Grammar , Phonics, Vocabulary, Sentence structure, Comprehension and Creative Writing.

For Maths, I have resources from the very basics: Number Bonds and Counting up and down at KS1, to the 4 operations & main topics : for example Fractions , Decimals and Percentages at KS2 . Also, I have books for Gifted and Talented Maths students at the top of KS2 level. In addition, I have an extensive resource base of past exam papers in all subjects and levels.

For History, I have National Curriculum Resources for the various exam boards and plenty of past papers.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a firm believer in making students feel at ease in the lessons, and in offering plenty of encouragement during the tuitions to build the student's confidence in the subject I am teaching.

I generally teach a topic to a student , and then set practice questions for the student to attempt based on my teaching.I am open to setting homework for the students, but always liaise with the parents as to whether they want their child to have any and if so how much.

Personal Description:
I recently completed my masters degree in Maths at Oxford, gaining a first. I have A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, English Literature and History.

Teaching Experience:

During my degree I volunteered with the Oxford-based charity Jacari on a weekly basis, through which I give English lessons to a child who speaks English as a second language. During my A levels, I worked regularly with a GCSE maths class.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm fairly flexible in my approach to tutoring, as I feel it's important to be able to adapt to suit the needs of different students. The most important thing to remember when tutoring (particularly when tutoring maths or sciences) is to help pupils properly understand the topics they're studying rather than just making them learn things by rote, as this will enable them to attack new problems when they come across them (and also hopefully foster a greater appreciation of the subject).

Personal Description:
I am a PhD student studying Languages and Global Studies at UCLAN, Preston. I am originally from Egypt so Arabic is my mother tongue.
I am planning to stay in Preston for 4 years until I finish my PhD. During this time, I am looking for part time job to help finance myself during this period and help with my tuition fees. As a PhD student, I have license to work for 20 hours per week. I think tuition would be a good choice for me because of the flexible working hours.

Teaching Experience:

It would be my pleasure to work as an English or Arabic Instructor.
I have 10 years of extensive experience of teaching English. My experience covers various age groups including elementary, primary, secondary and graduate students. I also have three years of experience in teaching specialized translation and linguistics courses in the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Pharos University (PUA), Alexandria, Egypt. In course of my previous jobs, I had to give lessons and I was also responsible for the extracurricular activities of my assigned class. I maintained student records, checked assignments, took presentations, met with parents and resolved all kinds of hurdles which my class and students face during the entire academic course. Nevertheless, I was a member of the examination committee.
Moreover, I have excellent verbal, listening and writing communication skills in both Arabic and English. Above all, I possess good organization abilities, and enthusiastic and commitment towards my work and responsibilities.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
- Master of Arts With the grade Excellent, Alexandria University, English Translation Branch, 2011.
- A Diploma in Translation from the Institute of Linguistics Studies, English language Branch,
- BA in English Literature from the Faculty of Arts Alexandria University 1999.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
3 years as an Assistant Teacher in PUA (Pharos University in Alexandria), Faculty of Languages and Translation.
3 years in teaching English as a first and second Language in My Little House school, and teaching English for IGCSE

Tutoring Approach:

I feel fully responsible for the students I teach and i exert every effort possible to help them attain their goals.
Being a mother of two children and a student myself, I feel how vulnerable a student can be and how dependent he/she is on their tutor.
Thus, I would do my best to help them along the path of knowledge, just the same way I would like my professors to help me achieve my goals.
