| Personal Description: I am currently studying at Oxford University for a Master's degree in Physics. Having studied Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Further Maths to A level at King Edward VI Handsworth School, I acheived A grades in all subjects- all marks were above 90%. At GCSE, I obtained 11 A* grades and 2 A grades. I am a full member of Mensa. Other interests include singing, playing piano and swimming. |
Teaching Experience: Weekly tuition within the company "My Child's Education" since September 2008. Experience tutoring mathematics to students aged 14-19. One year spent tutoring English, Chemistry and Biology up to GCSE level. Very willing to tutor similar subjects or English up to GCSE level, or Maths up to A-level. Other relevant experience includes working with handicapped toddlers on a voluntary basis, and running various after school and lunchtime clubs for the lower school. |
Tutoring Approach: My main aim is to inspire students to be as enthusiastic about their studies as I am. Developing a real and lasting flair for more difficult subjects is a passion of mine. Having just left school myself, I feel I can relate to the students, perhaps better than a typical tutor. I believe that to succeed, a student needs to practice as many questions as possible and be familiar with exam papers. I use a range of resources, depending on the student's individual learning style and needs. |

| Personal Description: Employed as a Senior IT Consultant working for an outsource firm working for US Investment Banks based in London. With over 15 years IT experience, originally in manufacturing, through to retail and investment banking, has overseen many projects that the education system is training people for. Able to take dry questions and offer real-world experiences to enrich the education process. Able to make an often perceived dull subject interesting and go beyond the boundaries of required learning to help the student thoroughly explore their potential. |
Teaching Experience: Have been on the receiving end of many different courses in the industry and have picked off the best methods to use and know the methods not to use as well. Have taught and mentored many employees, graduate trainees and foreign offshore workers from around the globe. Given courses remotely via phone and internet to external clients needing business and technical training. |
Tutoring Approach: To determine the take up speed and ability of each student on an individual basis and deliver the information at a speed and level best suited so they take the most from the presented information. If a student doesn't understand, then break it down until they do, take a step back and try another method. If they still don't understand, then it is my fault, not theirs and I adapt quickly and accordingly so as to get them to understand in the end. |

| Personal Description: I have recently completed my MSc Mathematics degree at Queen Mary University of London. Also I obtained my BSc Mathematics in 2007. I have done GCSE maths to be familiar with the subject curriculum since I am a overseas student . My degrees in Mathematics have provided me with the knowledge and confidence to teach Key stages 3, 4 . |
Teaching Experience: In April 2006 I began my first work experience as a teacher at Jalalabad college in Bangladesh. During my work experience I taught A-level students. The observations of experienced teachers' lessons allowed me to observe their planning, structure and pupil/teacher interaction so that I was able to incorporate the positive attributes I had seen into my own teaching and planning. This work experience provided me with the opportunity to work with many pupils who have special education needs. I have therefore learnt a great deal about the many aspects of incorporating differentiation into a lesson. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe that equal opportunities are an important factor to allow pupils to progress. Activities should be differentiated and appropriate to the level of each individual student. I reckon work with a student in a face to face situation demands more from a teacher and this will help me to develop as a teacher as well as gain more knowledge in those subjects. |

| Personal Description: I am a postgraduate with an initial BSc in Biochemistry and I am currently doing my masters in Public health and health promotion. I have A levels in Chemistry, Physics, Economics and English lang / lit and I have previously worked within the cancer research field. I am outgoing and enjoy working with youth, I am also extremely passionate about education. |
Teaching Experience: I have around 10 years of youth work experience and own a company called 'Healthy star' which conducts health promotion and disease prevention workshops in schools, youth clubs and colleges. I have been conducting workshops myself for a number of years now. |
Tutoring Approach: It depends on the what the customers wants the outcome to be. If the student would like a tutor to improve their grades in a particular subject then we would start by understanding how to revise and use examples in order to help the student remember what they are studying. We would then look through the students sylabus and work on exam approachs. If the student wanted to get better in a subject generally then we would start looking at the foundations and what areas lead onto different ones. The method would depend on the best way the child learns. |
