Personal Description:
I'm an enthusiastic and easy-going guy who enjoys bringing the best out of people. An award-winning teacher, I have years of teaching experience and a PhD in politics.

From 2011 to 2016 I worked as a lecturer at the University of Westminster, receiving a prize for my efforts having been nominated by my students for teaching excellence.

I also have an excellent academic record, completing my PhD at the University of Westminster in 2016. Prior to this I studied politics, sociology and philosophy at the University of York and the University of Leeds. At Leeds I received a prize for the highest mark in my graduate year at Leeds and I was awarded scholarships to fund my studies at York and Westminster.

Besides my academic work, I've up to ten years of experience working as a researcher in public policy. I currently work for the NHS and have previously worked at think-tanks including the Work Foundation and the New Economics Foundation. I enjoy a range of hobbies, including the guitar and sports.

Teaching Experience:

I worked for five years experience as a lecturer at the University of Westminster and received a prize for my efforts. My role included lecturing, leading seminars, marking and providing pastoral support for students. I specialised in research methods and provided advice and support for students undertaking their dissertations.

Additionally, I have a TEFL qualification and before going to university I taught English for three months in Bolivia.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor lessons to students' interests and needs, and strive to make the material as engaging as possible. Well structured and planned, the lessons proceed logically and the contents are explained as clearly and concisely as possible. Discussion and debate are actively sought. I also provide advice on generic academic skills such as researching, essay writing and delivering presentations.

Personal Description:
I have a very high level of mathematical understanding and very good explanation of the subject area. I am intuitive, passionate about the topics I study and aspire to become an investment banker in the near future. I have had internships at global banking corporations which has pushed me harder to succeed in life.

Teaching Experience:

I have had relative experience teaching students mostly at GCSE level preparing them for exams a few months prior. Currently I have a small group of students whom are getting ready for their assessments, therefore, I teach in groups. Also I have taught individual students in the past from primary through to the end of GCSEs. In the experience I have had teaching, my students have received minimum A grade in the past

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is all about positive reinforcement. I use mini games and different techniques to enhance and enjoy learning. I believe this helps students reach a higher level of knowledge and success. I am efficienct and practical in explaining problems and solutions due to time restrictions. Using a diverse range of structure and use of resources, the student will achieve a better grade than when they first started.

Personal Description:
I have eight years of teaching and lecturing experience at the University of London, the University of Liverpool, and the University of Warsaw in Poland. Whilst I have lots of experience lecturing to large groups, I also have a great deal of experience teaching smaller groups and also one-to-one tuition.

I am also a barrister and worked for several years in the field of white collar crime and competition law so I would also be happy to tutor in these subject as well.

Teaching Experience:

I have lectured in all of the core law courses which make up a law degree and in addition have taught company law, evidence law, intellectual property and international trade. I am happy to teach almost any law subject but my particular favourites are criminal law, legal method, contract law and tort law.

I have extensive experience of tutoring A-Level and btec law. I also have an undergraduate degree in politics and have experience of tutoring politics at A-level and undergraduate level.

I am happy to tutor in face-to-face meetings at my office within the University of Liverpool or via Skype.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching philosophy for individual tutoring is the same for small groups, the most important thing is to make sure every session is a dialogue between tutor and student. There is no point in tutors just talking at students and my teaching style is focused very much upon working with students on the particular areas of interest they may have.

Having taught a vast range of abilities I really enjoy working with individuals or smaller groups to improve their particular level and make sure they achieve the best they can.

Personal Description:
I am a Taiwanese who base in Edinburgh. Before I moved back to Scotland in 2014, I was a doctoral student at the University of Chicago in Greek and Latin. I have a BA degree in history from National Taiwan University (2006). After I spent a year studying Greek and Latin at Trinity College Dublin (2005-6), I gained a post-baccalaureate certificate in Greek and Latin from Columbia University in the City of New York (2008) and then a MPhil in Latin from the University of St. Andrews in 2011. Afterwards, I spent three years pursuing PhD research on Greek and Latin at the University of Chicago. At the present, I am photographing Edinburgh and Dublin and preparing my portfolio, exhibition, and photo books. I am very much enthusiastic about finding knowledge in both textual and visual worlds. Moreover, I am writing stories about Taiwanese diaspora for a journal in Taiwan. When it comes to Latin, I am currently reading Statius, Tibullus, and Seneca because I believe learning Latin is a life-long career that requires one's enthusiasm and dedication.

Teaching Experience:

I have been learning Latin for more than a decade, at National Taiwan University, Trinity College Dublin, Columbia University, the University of St. Andrews and the University of Chicago. I have TAed and taught Latin in Taiwan and the States. During this period, I have helped Cambridge University Press to translate Cambridge Latin Course series into Chinese Mandarin. During my stay in Chicago (2011-13), I also helped young people who have learning and reading difficulty.

Tutoring Approach:

Latin:
Apart from solving the problems of your school work, we will do more exercise, such as unseen translation and English-Latin translation, to find out your weak and strong points. The exercise will help me prepare materials that will help you memorise syntax, vocabulary, and grammar. Grammar can be very boring and put down students' interest in Latin. However, learning through reading interesting, alien, and exotic stories will enhance students' motivation to look into the Roman Antiquity. Reading will also more effectively shed lights on the parts of grammar and syntax we need to make up. Moreover, I will show you how to master speech recognition tactics in order to develop a stronger reading comprehension. I believe in the end of this course, we will have a better understand of Latin as a language and Latin literature as a whole.

English
I have been learning English since I was fifteen. I have overcome many difficulties, such as taking language exams, living in foreign lands, and doing academic works. I will share those experience with you. This tutoring will focus on the various needs and interests of individual students. You may bring the materials that interest you. We also can look into big books, newspapers or stories covering your the stories of your country. We can also look into websites which offer wonderful resources for people whose first language is not English, such as BBC. By reading, listening and discussing together, I will help you find out your weak points and we will start from there.

Personal Description:
I am a Japanese language teacher, a native speaker who studied for a bachelor degree in art in Portland, Oregon. I have lived in Tokyo and Osaka where I worked in the fashion industry and import/export business. I now live in England with my husband and two children.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience teaching Japanese to both adults and children one-to-one and in small groups. A typical lesson will include practice of general or topic focused conversations, related grammar study, key vocabulary usage and pronunciation. As an award winning student of calligraphy, my speciality is teaching the Japanese writing system.

Tutoring Approach:

Personal Description:
I have recently completed my undergraduate studies with a First in History at the university of Kent. I have always been committed to my academic career, being amongst the highest-attaining students at both school and university. I am a voracious reader of both fiction and non-fiction; aside from this I enjoy films, rugby union and competitive gaming.

I enjoy helping people to learn and develop, and would be happy to help tutees with specific exams or assignments, to provide more general advice on techniques and skills, help tutees achieve a deeper understanding of a subject or offering. I have experience of proofreading and editing at university level.

Teaching Experience:

I attended sixth-form at Chancellor's School in Brookmans Park, which ran a programme in which students assisted with the teaching of a lower-school class, as well as a "buddy system", where sixth-formers mentored and assisted 3 new students with transition to senior school.

At university I strove to take an active part in my education in both university-organised and extra-curricular activities. I was frequently commended for my contributions to seminars and I often joined study-groups on my own initiative, helping others with their understanding of the various courses and with exam technique. I also frequently aided other students by proof-reading and editing their essays and assignments, to help them better apply the technique and style that was needed to attain the highest grades.

I am the Vice-President of ISHA (the International Students of History Association). This organisation arranges events to bring history students from across Europe together; participants take part in workshops, presenting papers then hosting a debate on the points raised by their work. I enjoyed these events immensely, not only for the opportunity to learn from and to teach students from varied backgrounds with differing approaches towards the study of history, but also for the support and the opportunity for development that they offer to students. I also helped edit ISHA's journal 'Carnival'. As well as giving me valuable skills in teaching, discussion and presentation of ideas, ISHA also gave me valuable experience of academic interaction with people for whom English is not their first language, teaching me to to alter my vocabulary and forms of expression to better convey ideas.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is based on my own experiences of studying and helping other students at school and university. I aim to teach exam technique and preparation advice, alongside essay-writing skills and time management. I have broad knowledge of English and History and can supplement other teaching to create a strong base of understanding to help tutees achieve desired grades. I also feel it is worth-while to go beyond the syllabus, as unusual, but pertinent, information can be the determining factor in pushing a candidate up a grade barrier.

Personal Description:
Hi!

My name is Artur, I come from Poland. I would love to share my skills, with anyone who is motivated and willing to learn!

I'd love to think of myself as thoughtful, caring, attentive, and always trying to bring out the best from people. My success is Your success, as I feel a sense of deep satisfaction whenever I see one of my students, realizing their goals and making progress.

Teaching Experience:

I have three years of experience in teaching drums, I thought children as well as adults. All of them had vastly different goals and aspirations. This gave me a rich experience, as working with different individuals, shows how people have different modes of learning and require drastically different approach.

I learned importance of cooperation, willingness to listen, and speaking the language of the student, in order to get through. Stepping into someone elses shoes is a great skill to have, as it allows me to see the world from someone else's perspective and truly help them.

Tutoring Approach:

I always do my best to get to know the person I am teaching, in order to personalize the lesson and make it suitable for every student.

Why You Should Choose Me

This approach works because we are all unique individuals, and information can be presented and related in many different ways, to craft a lesson that is truly understandable to anyone.

I believe that aspriation and motivation is much more important than talent, so I always treat all the student equally, and make sure that they receive enough attention so their natural abilities can grow and flourish.

I try to be firm, yet relaxed. I belive in encouraging and rewarding the process, not the results, which yields great results in the end.

If You are motivated and eager to learn, let me know as soon as possible! I'm sure we will have a great time and You will develop Your skills whether it is brushing off Your Polish vocabulary, or learning it from scratch!

Personal Description:
I am a professional, conservatoire trained, theatre director, drama and LAMDA teacher based in London. My greatest strengths are my creativity on stage, ability to manage and communicate with people and to generally be an effective leader of different age groups, from Age 5 to Age 65.

My theatre voyage stydying MFA Theatre Directing at East 15 Acting School provided Jacques Lecoq puppet, clown and physical training and core modules examining Shakespeare, musical theatre, opera, comedy, contemporary British writing and actor training which has informed my practice as a teacher and director.

A huge part of my study was on theatre of the East, where I visited Bali, Indonesia for one term to study at Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI Denpasar). Here I had intensive training on forms such as Topeng Masked Dance, Legong Dance, Wayang Kulit and an introduction to Balinese Hinduism and performance cultures along with the opportunity to collaborate with actors, directors and filmmakers, and world-famous industry professionals.

I believe my administrative experience, my sales and marketing capabilities, together with my teaching and theatre qualifications with a healthy dose of imagination and a playful nature have all added to my effectiveness as an director, accomplished administrator, communicator and good all rounder.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked consistently in London theatres and in schools over the last 7 years and most recently have been working as the Artistic Director of Fusion Theatre Company, a company I founded, developing shows, workshops, education packs and training programs for pupils and teachers linking with National Curriculum Topics in order to utilise drama as a tool for learning. Most recently I have set up a LAMDA training section of the company, offering group sessions, duologue and monologue sessions for primary and secondary school.

Although I do the majority of my work within Theatre in Education and drama training, I also am currently the Associate Director of Maverick Theatre, whos mandate is to create reimaginations of classic literature in unexpected places.

Prior to setting up my own company, I was an assistant director, teaching assistant and technical operator at Trent College, for a number of shows, abridging and cutting scripts, marketing the school's productions, organising the shared diary and assisting with general curriculum work, organising year 9 classes and office administration. During that time I also worked as a LAMDA teacher with 14 students of my own, all of whom successfully achieved Grades 2 and 3 at the end of the summer term. During my second year I was given the opportunity to direct my own productions, as well as a substantial pay increase. I directed a sixth form production of "Two" by Jim Cartwright, followed by The Sixth Form Review [a comedy sketch show], a production of "Shakers" by John Godber, and a production of "Equus" by Peter Shaffer, and finally an outdoor theatre production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a year 7 group. Two years of hands-on experience in education taught me the fundamental rules of theatre, production, discipline and how to motivate others to give their best performance.

Theatre plays a vital role in education to nurture and create opportunities for young people, using the arts as a vehicle to understand the world they live in and the people they are as well as develop crucial life skills. I believe that the most effective way to learn is through theatre and performance and because of this I have an incredible love for youth theatre and working with children and find it extremely rewarding.

Since my study, I have been doing workshops and acting courses with students from University upwards. Whether it be a specific genre of theatre or audition pieces.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is completely guided by the person I am working with. My natural instincts as a teacher are to get the student to relate to the material as well as they can by giving them something to compare it with in their own life. As a student of LAMDA since age five and from my extensive experience as a tutor throughout my career I discovered that by adopting a personal approach to teaching and mentoring, identifying the individual strengths of each student, and harnessing and working with those strengths, I was able to yield some incredible results not just within primary and secondary school but utilising this practice for all ages.

Personal Description:
I am a First Class Psychology and Sociology graduate from the University of Cambridge (2012-2015).

Teaching Experience:

I undertook a 6 month teaching placement in Port Elizabeth, South Africa at a mixed secondary school in 2012. Here I taught students from ages 12-19 in both English Language & Literature, and Life Orientation.

Since leaving university I have run numerous study technique sessions with students of all ages. In addition, I regularly tutor various students at both A-Level and GCSE in a variety of essay based subjects.

I have also run workshops and seminars at secondary schools, colleges, and universities to teach students how to study more effectively through mastering their mindset.

Tutoring Approach:

I specialise in study skills and techniques after undergoing a dramatic transformation in how I approached studying myself during my third year of university. After two years of being a low-mid 2i student at Cambridge I changed my entire approach to study through developing a number of study tips/tricks/hacks rooted in the science of Positive Psychology.

Students who often need tutoring are not those lacking in intelligence. For many not reaching their true potential it is their mindset and approach to learning that lets them down.

This is where I come in- I share my story of how in my third year I actually started working fewer hours, stopped getting stressed out, and completely changed my relationship with learning and education.

My tutoring is just as much about coaching- the last thing a student wants is another educator telling them what to do. I simply provide them with the tools to make dramatic changes and challenge them to apply these techniques themselves.

Areas I specialise in include:
- Fostering Positive Study Habits
- Eliminating Distractions & Increasing Focus
- Stress Reduction & Redirection
- Mastering Time Management
- Conscious Note Taking
- Perfecting Exam Technique

Personal Description:
I am a passionate teacher of English who specialises in GCSE and A Level teaching. As 2nd in department at my current school, I have an excellent knowledge of new exam specifications and skills required. I am enthusiastic, caring and understand that no two students learn in the same way - you can rest assured that lessons will be written specifically for the student to address their current needs. I have built excellent relationships with students and I thoroughly enjoy seeing students grow in confidence and ability.

Teaching Experience:

5 years at a secondary school in East Riding of Yorkshire. I have done private tutoring before and will cater to the individual student's needs.

Tutoring Approach:

On the first meeting I like to sit down with the student and get an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses in the subject, outlining how they like to learn and what strategies they have found work for them in the classroom. From here I will plan bespoke lessons to suit the exam board and the student's needs. I understand that some students will be reluctant to learn, so I try to make lessons as engaging as possible (linking topics to their individual interests wherever possible!) Marked work will be returned promptly to both students and guardians, with further opportunities to make improvements. When working towards examinations, I will provide exam practice material, which will be marked and reviewed.

I ensure that my tutees are well prepared for the demands of the examinations of the subjects they are taking with me, and pay close attention to exam practice and technique, involving practicing past questions and looking carefully at how to construct essays and arguments in the exam.
