Personal Description:
As a fully qualified and experienced Teacher and Tutor of Mathematics and English, I am passionate about helping students to achieve their maximum potential and boost their grades at school.

Teaching Experience:

As a Supply Teacher with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, I enjoy teaching various Year Groups from Year 1 to Year 6.

Also, as a well established local Private Tutor, I pride myself on my commitment to providing a professional and personal tuition service at all times.

By focussing on establishing a positive relationship with each student, and setting clear learning targets based on their ability, my tutees either achieve or exceed their learning targets.

I am able to adapt my expertise to the needs of students of all ability and age levels, including those whose second language is English, children who are preparing for entrance test examinations, or those children who may be falling behind at school for one reason or another in their Maths and English.

I also prepare adult learners for Professional skills tests in Literacy and Numeracy.

Here are a few of the comments that have been made by some of my students:

After a short period of intensive GCSE Maths revision, Mr Brown commented, "Great tuition, made a big difference to my son's exam results."

Mr Jones, an adult learner, recently commented that, following a course of tuition in Literacy skills, he "now feels more confident in writing, spelling and grammar" and that "communication via email and telephone was excellent".

Mrs Barker has also recommended Tina, stating that "Tina has achieved excellent results for our daughter in GCSE English" and that she is "personable and has high integrity".

Mrs Smith claimed that her 7 year old son, Josh, "has gained in confidence and ability since receiving tuition. He has enjoyed his sessions and has felt more able to tackle challenging work."

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate about both high quality teaching and learning and would describe myself as an enthusiastic, dedicated and professional Teacher and Tutor who has enabled a significant number of students to achieve their maximum potential and boost their grades at school.

When working with a student, I believe it is important to provide a friendly and informal learning environment so that they can develop and learn at their own pace. While my approach is calm and encouraging, I also ensure that activities are stimulating and based on the student's age and abilities so they can enjoy and extend their learning and understanding at their own pace.

I avoid jargon where possible, and like to use a hands-on approach, making sure my students learn by doing and gain confidence in their own ability to get the best out of their camera.

Personal Description:
Compassionate and hardworking, I am a francophone who speaks fluent English. My subject knowledge is Maths but I am able to teach French up to GCSE level. My qualifications were garnered from "itinerant studies": O level in Côte D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Maths and Sciences A levels in France and in the UK: a Diploma in Computing, a Bachelor of Science and a Postgraduate Certificate in Mathematics.

Varied places and work experiences along with different cultures have conferred on me such transferable skills as: compassion, the ability to pay attention to details and to adapt to new situations with ease.

Teaching Experience:

I started 8 years ago as a private tutor whilst holding a position of student-teacher in a secondary school. I also volunteer as Numeracy Coach for a charity.

Tutoring Approach:

It depends on the student's goal and their availability. However, no matter the requirements, I work with the student not only to identify their barriers and help them to develop the confidence they need to move forward but also to improve their acquired techniques if there is room to do so.

During a revision session, a series of exercises or past exam papers will be means of assessment to ascertain and sharpen my students' abilities. When it comes to long term tuition, formative, diagnostic and summative assessments are used to find out what the student knows, identify gaps between their knowledge and understanding and scaffold the development of their understanding to enable them to close the gap between what they currently know and their current learning goals.

Personal Description:
I graduated from Worcester College, Oxford, where I got a Double First in Classics, doing a mixture of literature, history and especially focusing on philosophy. I am now studying at City Law School for the Graduate Diploma in Law (Law conversion course) and hope to practise as a barrister when I qualify.

I am enthusiastic and hard-working and I strongly believe in putting all my effort into what I do, so as a tutor I would work hard to try and help bring real improvement.

I was captain of one of my college football teams and also love playing cricket (though perhaps more keen than talented in both of the above!) I was Co-Chair of the Oxford University Labour Club and an elected official at the Student Union, and I also enjoy playing the piano and guitar.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored a number of people via UK tutors in several subjects. I have also been a voluntary leader on summer camp, which included organizing detailed discussion sessions, and I tutored my sister for her successful Cambridge Philosophy application.

Tutoring Approach:

I would try and keep things as relaxed and informal as possible so the sessions are good fun and try to listen as well as talk so that we can focus on what needs to be worked on and tailor the sessions to individual needs. I love all the subjects I tutor and I'd hope to inject that into my classes!

Personal Description:
I'm currently a fourth year medical student at Imperial College London. Throughout my school career I excelled in Maths, Chemistry and Biology, and my performance in these subjects at A-Level ultimately helped me to win a place at medical school. Therefore in addition to tutoring, I am in a good position to advise students who may be thinking about going to university to study for a science or healthcare related degree.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring and mentoring students throughout my school and university life. As a sixth former I provided weekly mentoring to GCSE students at school. I've held various positions of responsibility on a student-led education society at Imperial for 2-3 years, helping to organise and run mock exams and weekly tutorials for medical students.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it is important to get to know each student personally, and find out what they want to achieve and how they learn best. I plan my tutorials in advance with clear aims and objectives so that the student knows what to expect from their time with me. Most importantly, I try to empower my students with the confidence to know that they are capable of achieving their goals.

I also give instrumental and vocal tuition to students of a variety of ages and abilities. I hold an enhanced DBS (new version of enhanced CRB.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a very friendly and patient teacher. I have a flexible approach to tutoring, adapting to suit the students way of learning and best address their weaker areas. In my first few lessons I aim to give students tasks that they can understand and complete within the lesson, building their confidence in their abilities. This then lays the foundations to progress on to more difficult topics, and develop the students own ability and skills set, so they can begin to tackle new, unfamiliar ares of the topic themselves.

Personal Description:
I'm a friendly italian art historian, with a Degree in Humanistic Studies (Rome) and Master Degree in History of Art and Visual Culture (Madrid). I lived 3 years in Madrid, where I studied and worked and where I knew very well the Spanish culture and passionate to it. I have experience in teaching spanish and italian languages, with dynamic lessons.
I also made a triennial school of photography in Rome and study photography at the university, a part that manage photography exhibition.

Teaching Experience:

I taught spanish and italian for private lessons and different needs and levels: grammar, test level (basically, intermediate, advanced), conversation. For adult and children also.
I teach photography for beginners, starting with the analog photography, throughout basic concepts light, movement, image, theory and digital image. Also we work with digital file and editing.

The lesson depend on the age and needs. Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Taylor and I hold a PGCE, an MA, a BA and 2 years experience as a full-time lecturer, but more of that below!

I'm 26 and have recently relocated to London after securing a job in film and television distribution. Film is my first love but I am passionate about education and about using mine to help others succeed in building their own.

My particular areas of strength are:
* Film and television studies
* Media theory and production
* English literature
* IT
* Mathematics

Although I am flexible with regards to the subject.

On a more personal level I have a great many interests and these include:
* Sports and fitness - I cycle and run a lot (most recently I ran the Coventry Half Marathon) and frequent the gym around 6 times per week. It is also my intention to enrol onto a BSc Sports Science degree in the near future.
* Music - I play guitar and up until recently had played in an indie rock band for 5 years.
* Travel, arts and culture - I am perpetually fascinated by all things 'Japan' although my appreciation of culture in general extends well beyond this.
* Cooking - I have a particular penchant for baking but take delight in the culinary arts altogether.

I am an open and honest individual with a high degree of motivation, inquisitiveness and enthusiasm and greatly look forward to working with you and/or your child.

Please don't hesitate to drop me a line should you have any specific questions.

Thanks a lot for your time,

Taylor.

Teaching Experience:

Prior to returning to university to complete my masters I spent 2 years as a full-time college lecturer. As a full-time lecturer in Creative Media Production I worked as a member of a small team guiding learners through a large variety of different media disciplines such as short film production, media theory and documentary production. In the last round of observations my teaching practice was graded 'Outstanding'.
In this role my responsibilities included:
• Co-leading the Level 3 in Creative Media Production team and course in achieving 100% success rates
• Producing educational material for use by team members in multiple topics including 'Short Film Production' and 'Advertising Production'
• Delivering 20 hours of lessons per week to 60+ learners across multiple courses for topics including 'Scriptwriting', 'Documentary Production', 'Radio Production' and film and media theory/history
• Examination and analysis of coursework in relation to official grading criteria

Tutoring Approach:

The approach that I have found to be the most rewarding has typically been very Humanist. That is to say that I place an emphasis on the learner's journey to self-actualisation by promoting their own sense of achievement, accomplishment of their set goals and enthusiasm for the given subject. However this approach is not exclusive, just as each learner is individual, and so the most important consideration of my approach to teaching is my understanding that effective learning has no prescribed path. As such my approach to tutoring is adaptive and fluid

Personal Description:
My name is Stevan and I am a Maths Tutor based in London. I am currently in my final year of my Mathematics degree at the London School of Economics, and am due to do an MSc in Mathematics next year. Afterwards, I will be training to become a fully qualified Maths teacher. Unlike most 'jack-of-all-trades' tutors, I specialise in Maths alone, since I have a great passion for the subject. Email me at for any further details.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a private tutor since 2009, and my students always perform consistently well. I also work part-time in a grammar school as a teaching assistant.

Tutoring Approach:

It is completely up to the student's requirement. If help with schoolwork is required, I shall aid them appropriately, making sure they have a thorough understanding of all the concepts they use. On the other hand, I can also teach the syllabus alongside their school - I have a style which allows students to grasp the concepts with more ease than they may be able to at their school. Regular homework will be set.
