Personal Description:
I have a first degree in English, Postgraduate Diploma in IT, Adult Teacher's Certificate, TEFL and Business English teaching qualifications. For the last four years I have specialised in teaching EFL/ESOL.

I also offer support students who are in the process of writing dissertations/theses from any discipliine.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for eleven years now. During this time, I have worked both in colleges and community settings.

I specialise in EFL/ESOL but also teach English Language, Literature and Literacy. I have experience of teaching at different levels from total beginners through to supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in an informal approach to tutoring. In a classroom enviornment or one-to-one basis, I always try to create a relaxed atmoshere. I find that this facilitates a good relationship between myself and student(s). Students feel able to approach me without feeling nervous about something they do not understand or are having difficulty with.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and in turn, I believe this encourages my students to enjoy the learning process.

Personal Description:
I am 20 years old, fresh from university and have a exceptional passion for English literature and language. My degree was in creative writing and I am an aspiring author however what I really want to do with my life is teach. I find there is no greater satisfaction than helping children to succeed and giving them a flair for something they perhaps previously disliked or struggled with. As a person I am extremely driven and refuse to fail at anything I do, I am outgoing, punctual, and completely reliable.

Teaching Experience:

I have already worked in schools teaching classes between year 7 and 11 and have currently just been taken on as an unqualified teacher as I work towards my GTP. I work 5 days a week but do not teach all day, just regular classes with mainly year 11 students. I am a crucial part of the staff at this school, in fact my position started on only a voluntary basis, within two weeks I had been asked to take on a paid position full time. At this school I have already single handily upped the grades of individual students who were struggling, this being because of, I believe, my clear passion for the subject.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching has always been to engage the learner by making learning fun and interesting but at the same time packed with incredibly important information. My passion for teaching came about whilst at school myself. I believed there wasn't enough good teachers that had a burning passion for their subject, ultimately I do everything within my power as a teacher not to fall into that category.

Personal Description:
I come from a mixed Spanish/Argentinian family, which has provided me with an insight into both cultures and language varieties. Besides enjoying the teaching of the beautiful Spanish language, I love traveling and experiencing different cultures: in the last 10 years, through my studies and job opportunities, I have had the chance to live in Portugal, Slovenia, Argentina, the U.K. and Algeria, besides 4 different Spanish cities. Even though I am moving less in the last years because I now have a kid, I still enjoy very much the cultural richness breathed in music and movies, as well as personal development activities, such as Biodanza. I enjoy nature, walks through the beach, cycling, cooking and spending quality time with my family and friends :)

Teaching Experience:

I started teaching Spanish in 2005 while living in Slovenia. I did not imagine the rich universe behind this task. Since then I have done many teacher training courses, the last one a Master Teacher Training for Teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language in University of Barcelona, finished in July 2011. In the last 7 years I worked at Instituto Cervantes, Kings College London, Merton Adult Education College, among others. I also started teaching online in 2008, working as a freelancer for Telelangue and Learship, the top European e-learning providers. The online methodology is the one I use now. I also work in the organization of language learning and cultural trips to Spain.

Tutoring Approach:

Student needs defines a different course for each individual, so the first step is to get to know yours through a questionnaire. From there, according to the goals, background and personality of each learner, I create a course to address your needs. Classes are dynamic, fun, as well as following the learners pace. The great thing about this system is that we can stop at any point to clarify and explain further and again any challenging topic. We work in mini projects to help you produce you own language from the first day. I believe in the independence on the learner and provide you with tools for building your own skills. I use a very simple web based virtual classroom where we meet and speak live one-to-one during the whole class, seeing each other through our webcams, while working collaboratively on graphic materials. You will receive a free textbook from Difusion (top publishing house for languages) on the post when you book a 20 hour course.

Personal Description:
It has been an ambition of mine to become a Secondary School teacher since I was in Primary School. I have always had an interest in Mathematics, Chemistry and especially in Physics. Whilst I was in school I was always asking the question "Why?". I always wanted to know more about how something worked, whether it was how a radio worked or how a light bulb was able to light up a room. It was this fascination, along with some very inspirational figures, with the world around me that led me for years in the pursuit of more knowledge, to find more answers and have a greater understanding of the things that surrounded me. It is for this reason that I decided to study a Physics based degree, to learn about the Universe and how it works.

I am currently a third year student studying Astrophysics MPhys at the University of Liverpool and LJMU. Upon completion of my course I wish to complete a PhD before training to become a secondary school Mathematics/Physics teacher.

I have decided to become a private tutor in my free time to gain experience in teaching which is the profession I am determined to go into. I am able to travel but I would have to add additional expenses onto the cost of the lesson due to the low prices that I am charging. I will do this as fairly as I am able and the additional charge would only be dependant on the miles travelled.

Teaching Experience:

Upon completion of my A-Levels I decided to work voluntarily in a local Secondary School. I worked there for approximatly 5 weeks in the capacity of a Mathematics teaching assistant. I worked with students of all abilities ranging from the age of 10 (On several Open Days) to 16. Before I could work an Enhanced CRB was carried out by the school, this is still in date and is available upon request to any parent/guardian who wishes to see it. It shows that I do not have a criminal record of any kind. My qualification certificates are also available upon request.

Of course to many, my age and lack of experience and qualifications, could be seen as a negative attribute, however, I see this as being positive as it was not long ago that I was in the students position. I feel this puts me in a unique position where I would be able to communicate in a way where the student can understand.

Tutoring Approach:

All students are unique. This said the approach to tutoring them will be unique to each pupil. Firstly I would like to see the students past reports so I can see how the student is performing, this will aid me in developing a plan to teach the student. I would like the first meeting to be between myself, the pupil and the parent/guardian and we can discuss what needs assessing, this will also allow me to get to know the pupil in a stress free environment. This of course will not be charged unless I am required to travel in which case I will only charge a travelling expense as detailed above. I invite the parent or guardian to sit in in all lessons.

Once I have assessed the students ability, together with the student we can come up with achievable but challenging milestones. The most important thing is that the student enjoys learning, I will therefore try my utmost to make the lessons fun (Something that for some reason can't be done in a traditional class room) whilst still making them challenging so that progress can be made.

Personal Description:
I am about to enter the 3rd year of my Maths degree at the University of Warwick and I am on track to achieve a 1st. I will be free to tutor in the Summer, Christmas and Easter holidays.

My availability:
30th June until 25th September
7th December until 3rd January
15th March until 18th April

I charge 10 for GCSE level and below and 12 for AS/A level per hour + travel expenses if you wish me to travel to you.

I studied maths, further maths, physics and economics at A-level, and I achieved 3 A*s and an A respectively. I have a keen interest for mathematics and I enjoy studying it and reading around the subject.

Teaching Experience:

I have been volunteering for two years as a teaching assistant in the maths lessons (for year 8s and year 9s) at a local secondary school, once a week during term time. I have also been assisting with the A-level maths lessons in this school.

I have been registered with UK tutors for over two years now and I have been tutoring A-level and GCSE maths during the Summer, Christmas and Easter holidays.

During my final year at my sixth form college, I was appointed a maths workshop mentor. This consisted of me helping the AS and A2 maths students who were having difficulties with their homework and exam questions etc. I greatly enjoyed this as I found it also reinforced certain mathematical concepts in my own mind and many of the students I helped commented that I was "really helpful" and that I'd make a "good teacher".

I have completed 15 A level maths modules with AQA in total:
core 1, core 2, core 3, core 4, further pure 1, further pure 2, further pure 3, further pure 4, Mechanics 1, Mechanics 2, Mechanics 4, Statistics 1, Statistics 2, Decision 1 and Decision 2.

I have achieved As/A*s in all of the modules mentioned above and I believe I would be able to confidently help my students with any of the core, further pure and mechanics modules.

Tutoring Approach:

In general students come up to me with a list of questions that they're stuck on, and we'd work through them together, but if a student is completely stuck on a topic then I am also able to explain it from scratch. It would be helpful if the student could inform me which topics they are stuck on before the session so that I'll have time to prepare some material for it.

Master of Science and Bachelor in civil engineering
Qualified CRB

Teaching Experience:

6 Years of successful math private tutoring
2 Years of teaching in university foundation year
Positive feedback from students and their parents

Tutoring Approach:

The interactive teaching method I use simplifies the hardest concepts and focuses on deep understanding of mathematics. For better consolidation, I try to help the students to solve past paper questions just after teaching the concepts. I always have a high expectancy from my students and let them think for themselves how to tackle new problems.
On a personal level I am patient, friendly and sometimes serious to gain the best of what we can!

Personal Description:
I'm an 18 year old student from Essex, currently studying Law with Business at the University of Hull and looking to begin tutoring while studying for my degree.

Teaching Experience:

In the past I have tutored GCSE and Key Stage 3 students at Southend High School for Boys in order to help them progress and prepare for their exams. I consider myself to specialise in Business and History, having studied them for the longest, while also being proficient in Chemistry (studied to AS level), English Literature and Language, and Maths.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a relaxed, friendly and informal approach to tutoring, allowing the student as much time as required in order to fully understand a topic or subject area while also ensuring that progress is made in good time, however my approach can also vary depending on the student's learning style and what environment they learn best in. I look towards past paper or exam style questions to check and monitor progress, and place emphasis on use of a subject's specification (particularly at GCSE and A level) to ensure the student knows exactly what the exam board wants them to know.
