I have completed a vast amount of work experience in the past and worked with a variety of different types of people and I feel that having had this exposure, I can relate well to people at all levels, and that I have good communication skills and a constructive approach to learning and improving my abilities. School Experience:

I circulated between the different ability groups, within the classroom, in order to develop an understanding of the different requirements that needed to be met and to gain an understanding of the needs of each individual within the classroom. I undertook small tasks such as talking to children individually about their work and listening to them read as well as marking work

Mickleover Primary School January 2009 - February 2010
I spent time working alongside children between the ages of 7 to 9. I worked with several different ability areas, working with them in a group and also individually and I was able to gain a great insight into the requirements of different children and the flexibility needed within the classroom. Personal Description:
Hello there! My name is Tanyel and I am an undergraduate student at King's College London. I study BA French and Management and will be entering my second year in September.

I am available to tutor over the summer 2013 starting immediately, with a possibility of continuing this for when I am back at university.

Teaching Experience:

I have a wide range of tutoring experience. This originated from when I was in Sixth Form and developed a knack for explaining things to my classmates and friends. Since then, my enjoyment in tutoring has led me to be involved in two tutoring projects. This is both privately in my local area and also voluntarily, the latter being with my university and an organisation called Team Up ().

Tutoring Approach:

We would work through a main textbook (CGP range seems to work best) and I provide explanations in a clearer, more interactive manner to clarify understanding. I then set homework tasks based on what we have learnt. I can connect with all my students on a friendly level in this way, pausing to answer any questions, whilst ensuring progression and focus at all times. I have seen this approach work countless times in my experience. In some cases, students enjoy it so much they ask me to set them even more homework!

Personal Description:
I am a third year student at Imperial College London, studying towards a Mathematics degree. I'm passionate about Maths and would love to share my interest with anyone. I've participated in a few external Math competitions and on track towards a 1st class honours for my degree.

Teaching Experience:

I've volunteered to teach Math at a refugee shelter.

Most of the time, I've helped out my friends who struggled with Maths throughout their high school and college.

Tutoring Approach:

I would consider myself to be more of a study buddy who would help out on the difficult questions and changing my pace of teaching tailored towards one's strength. In terms of Mathematics, I put emphasis on the derivation and understanding of the mathematical concept. Having gone through a mathematics degree, I can't stress enough on the importance to learn from first principle and learning the underlying assumptions. Instead of tackling multiple similar type questions, I wish to instill problem solving techniques that covers a wider range of questions.

Personal Description:
I have a Bachelor of Science with majors in Geography and Geology. After working in the field of geoscience for several years I wanted a new challenge and have a new passion for education.

Teaching Experience:

For the past year I have been working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a secondary school. In this role I primarily teach maths. I also teach geography, science and English.

There is a wide variety in the learning needs of my individual students. This has given me an understanding of how to tailor learning to the needs of an individual student.

The mid-level GCSE Mathematics class that I assist attained a 97% pass-rate in GCSE Higher Mathematics. Two year 10 SEN students that I have worked closely with both received a C mark in GCSE statistics, after showing vast improvement over the academic year.

During the previous school year I tutored an A Level geography student. She received an A grade in her final exam. I also tutored two year 11 mathematics students who received a B and C grade respectively.

During my time in third and fourth year at university I tutored several first year geology students.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that each student has the potential to achieve the grade that they are aiming for. In a lot cases though their learning needs to be supported and nurtured in the right way to help them achieve this.

I aim to identify strengths and weaknesses that each individual student possesses. By helping a student consolidate their strengths and by tackling their weaknesses head on I believe that I can help them improve markedly in a short period of time. I also aim to help a student put into place new skills that will help them improve their level of independence while learning. These skills are important to learn and are relevant in many aspects of life.
