Personal Description:
I have a degree in Pharmacology and a qualified teacher of Science from KS1 to KS5. I am also an examiner; I mark GCSE papers. I am a very hard working individual who is easily motivated and always ready to adapt and learn new skills. Having had various opportunities to carry out a variety of laboratory assessments as key components of my course, I am able to work as an individual or as part of a team. As a part of my degree I developed essential and transferable scientific skills. My project title was 'Synthesis and Biochemical Evaluation of Heat Shock Protein Hsp90 inhibitors on MCF-7 breast cancer cells'. Studies on how drugs are discovered, developed and used to treat disease gave me an understanding of how the human body functions and how drugs can be used to affect these functions. I have experience teaching from KS1 to KS5 and open university students. I enjoy travelling; visited New York, New Jersey, Netherlands, Scotland, Switzerland, Austria, Spain and Nigeria. I get pleasure from working out at the gym regularly and I love swimming. I also enjoy studying christian books and other inspirational books.

Teaching Experience:

Currently at SEN school in Hampshire; previous experience at an inner city school in Portsmouth. It has 900 students on roll. I have over 6 years of experience working with people with challenging behaviour, dyslexia and autism. Currently I am teaching Key stage 3 and 4. Teaching pure Biology lessons to separate Science; Physics, Chemistry and Biology to core and Additional Science students. For key stage 3 I have followed the QCA guidelines and for key stage 4 the WJEC examination board. I have written schemes of work for year 11 students to cover additional Sciences and rewrote schemes of work to meet the recent curriculum changes key stage 3 and 4. I was also involved in producing resources to be shared in the department about hydrocarbons, polymers, smart materials, ammonia fertilizers and many other kS3 topics.

Prior to this experience my first teaching placement during my PGCE year was at a mixed comprehensive with approximately 900 students on role. I taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics at key stage 3 and team taught for key stage 4. This prepared me well for my second placement where I taught all three Sciences across both key stages. My second placement was also at a mixed comprehensive school with approximately 600 students on roll. I also was involved in Individual Student Assessments (ISA). Additionally as a trainee teacher I regularly was involved in school base activities to encourage students. I was a Student Ambassador for Portsmouth University. It gave me a lot of personal satisfaction and developed my communication skills. I also attended the University of East London gifted and talented day in 2008; which was attended by a number of schools from the borough of Redbridge. It was an inspiring day of learning and fun and I have taken elements from that day into my classroom practice today.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is to first of all find out my students weaknesses and turn it into their strengths; I feel that the study of Neuropharmacology as part of my undergraduate degree in Pharmacology was very relevant to teaching. I have a secured subject knowledge with all three Sciences. I also like to bring the best of people, by being patient and understanding. I have the ability to cope and work under pressure, understanding of the challenges that need overcoming to learn, ability to take ownership of material and adapt it to suit the learning styles and approach of individual.

Personal Description:
I am an OCR Chemistry A Level examiner (specification A) and a teacher in a sixth form college. I have a PhD in Biochemistry (Distinction) and Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Distinction). Currently, I am only taking tutees studying the above mentioned specification, in order to provide highly specialised support. I offer tuition in person as well as online.

I have a PhD in Biochemistry (Distinction) and Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Distinction). My hobbies are varied, but I would mention football and chess.

Teaching Experience:

I have been an A Level Chemistry classroom teacher for four years. The knowledge and skills gained from delivering this specification allows me to tailor lessons to my tutee's needs. My resources and worksheets range from introduction of topics to activities that challenge students to the A* grade. I am aware of typical problem areas where students struggle as well as common misconceptions, and I tackle them in ways that students feel comfortable with. In addition to A Level Chemistry, my classroom teaching experience also includes GCSE Chemistry and HND in Applied Chemistry Level 4 and 5 (equivalent to first and second year of a chemistry degree).

My experience as an A Level Chemistry examiner enables me to guide students on how to maximise their performance in exams. I work with my students through mark schemes, helping them to interpret them, and revise independently. I emphasise the need for accurate terminology in explanations and clear working out of calculations. Also, I help students understand the structure of standard exam questions as well as approaches to unfamiliar ones.

As a private tutor, my teaching approach varies depending on the needs of the tutee. I have experience in helping students starting A2 , resitting AS, students aiming for A*, and students with special needs.

Tutoring Approach:

In the first lesson I show original documentation for identity, proof of qualifications and DBS (previously known as CRB) to my students and their parents.

I offer the first lesson as a free no obligation lesson, which is only charged if students decide to continue to have further lessons with me. Therefore if after the first lesson you are not fully satisfied and decide not to come back, then you would not have to pay for it.

My approach to teaching students consists of the following steps:
-To establish a good atmosphere between the student and myself.
-To identify the student's current level and the difficulties they are experiencing in the topic we are going to start working on.
-To define the learning objectives for the session so that students have a clear idea of what they need to learn.
-To keep a continuous interaction with the student during the whole lesson though questioning and different activities in order to keep the student engaged whilst I can check if learning is taking place.
-To evaluate the session in terms of what the student has mastered and what needs further work.
-To set homework so that the student consolidates the acquisition of new concepts and skills.

Personal Description:
I am currently a third year medical student from the University of Newcastle but I have also graduated in Human Sciences from the University of Durham back in 2007. During the holidays I live in London. I have a wealth of experience working with children and teenagers from being a Christmas grotto host at Harrods to volunteering at Great Ormond Street Hospital for over a year.

My work ethic when I was younger was not as disciplined as it is now and I am aware of the difficulties that students can face when it comes to learning new concepts and hope to help tutees overcome these barriers.

Having applied to grammar school, university and medical school I am aware of all the application processes and interviewing processes.

I am outgoing and to keep active I play hockey for my local club and my university college.

Teaching Experience:

I have helped younger family members to grasp ideas and offer new ways of learning if they were struggling. I have had job roles in the past training new employees up and feel this is a mode of teaching.

I would like to extend my higher knowledge to helping students achieve top grades in their GCSE's and A-levels

Within my current course we have peer to peer teaching which has proved to be a very effective learning tool.

Tutoring Approach:

Different individuals have different learning styles, I for one am more visual. I would try to get an understanding of how the tutee learns best, and encourage them to engage in activities that would help them. For instance, if they are visual learners then get them to draw things out.

Encouragement and patience is of great importance and listening to the needs of the individual.

My role as a tutor would be to guide and encourage the tutee to reach their educational and professional goals.

Personal Description:
I am a self directed, enthusiastic teacher with a passionate commitment to student development and the learning experience. I often design challenging, enriching and innovative activities that address the diverse interests and needs of students. I think I possessed outstanding communication skills, present information in a variety of ways, emphasizing of relevant class materials to the world beyond the classroom. I am also an active team member who effectively collaborates with all levels of staff members and establishes quality relationships with students.
In Mauritius, the primary language is English. I am fluent in both English and French. In these two languages, I am very good in writing as well as in speaking. I have sat for the French subject at the Cambridge A level examination and this explains my ease in the use of this language

Teaching Experience:

I have also many years of experience teaching in Chemistry . I am much at ease with all the exam board, AQA, EdExcel, OCR

Tutoring Approach:

my first action is to find out where the student stand, what are his strengths and weaknesses. this is done my asking oral questions or by devising a proper revision questions. after knowing this, i will devise a plan depending n their capabilities. for weaker pupils, a thorough revision will be done so as to strengthen their foundation knowledge. and for brighter students, exam papers will be given to them to have a good practice. revision as well will be performed. this wil be done mainly when correcting the papers and working out specimen papers

Personal Description:
I enjoy maths and helping other people to enjoy it too. I have always kept up my interest in maths by studying with the Open University and I particularly enjoy finding ways to use games and puzzles to create interest and understanding. I worked in business computing and always enjoyed the training side of the job. At the moment I am working as a private tutor, helping my husband to renovate and restore a seventeenth century house and training an unruly young sprollie dog.

Teaching Experience:

I have a PGCE in secondary maths teaching and taught in a secondary school for one year. During my career in IT as an analyst/programmer I trained staff in programming techniques, and also trained users as part of the implementation of the many systems I was involved in. My enjoyment of maths and teaching led me to refresh and extend my skills by studying for a PGCE in post compulsory education. During the course of this I gained experience of whole class teaching, one to one and small group tutoring at GCSE and A-level.

I have now been working as a private tutor with individual pupils for a year and am learning all the time! I have experience of students taking GCSE maths for the first time and with those doing resits. I can offer tuition up to AS level (C1, C2, S1). I have experience of working with students with dyslexia. I am also an Adult Education Tutor and work with people returning to maths later in life.

Tutoring Approach:

I love helping other people to understand and enjoy maths, and I know that the classroom is not always the best place to do this - many people need the individual attention that one to one or small group tutoring gives in order to bring up their basic skills, learn to build on them and so gain confidence and enjoyment. Maths is too often the subject that people learn to hate and fear - a little one to one help can turn all that around. I aim to give my students a good understanding of the subject rather than learning one-off tricks and rules.

The following is an unsolicited testimonial from one of my tutee's parents:

"Deborah is a very professional tutor and always tries to make our son's weekly maths tutorial as beneficial, creative and enjoyable as possible. She is very dedicated and prepared to listen and help and follows up her tutorials with useful homework for our son to work on during the week. You can see how much personal satisfaction she gets from helping our son, which is great.

I would not hesitate to fully recommend Deborah and her approach to tutoring maths. She clearly cares about her work and helping children to get to grips with maths."

Personal Description:
I am a twenty-seven year old student living in Tooting, London. I am an actor having completed a three-year diploma in professional acting from The Oxford School of Drama. Before this I gained a First Class BA (Hons) in English Literature and Drama from the University of Sheffield.

I have a real passion for education and feel I am perfectly placed to help students having just completed my actor training I know what constitutes good teaching.

Having a degree in English Literature and Drama means I would be confident to tutor in English Literature, English Language, Theatre Studies and Drama at A Level or below.

I can also direct speeches for drama school entry and advise on applications.

Teaching Experience:

I am experienced in teaching ages 7-19.

I have also run large group workshops with secondary and primary school children.

I have also studied teaching techniques used in museums and devised theatre projects to communicate exhibits to varying age ranges.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a firm believer that the best way to learn is by interaction. I am myself a creative learner, and thus my teaching takes a creative slant.

I am passionate about theatre and the power that human interaction has on learning so I embark on lively lessons designed to create enthusiasm for subjects - so students will not just see them as perfunctory nuisances. I am also incredibly logical and a rigorous planner, who can create realistic targets and see them come to fruition.

Personal Description:
Currently work for a top accountancy firm as an accountant, I have a passion for Business and Maths with a strong and rigorous approach to solving problems. My first Bachelors is in Investment & Financial Risk Management which has given me a strong foundation in core areas of finance and its applicability to business and economics. My second degree which I am still studying for is in Applied Mathematics and Statistics which is giving me the scientific background I seek.

Teaching Experience:

I taught Maths and English to kids and teenagers at Explore Learning for 9 months where I quickly found myself working in an environment which suited my natural ability to communicate complex concepts to students of disparate abilities. This is something which I would like to continue.

Tutoring Approach:

Its always important to understand the students background before you even begin to touch the subject matter, this gives you an idea of what level you need to teach at and how best to communicate the concepts which need to be taught. This may require one to change both body language and verbal communication used. There are 3 types of learners the visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners. Most people are a combination of all 3 but will generally have a stronger preference to one of these areas. The best approach is one which utilizes all 3 but also makes use of the students natural learning style.

Personal Description:
Hi i'm Waqar and I am a 24 year old student who is passionate about helping other students fulfil their potential.

I graduated with a 1st class Biomedical Science (Hons) degree in 2014 and I am currently studying Medicine at Barts and the London School of Medicine & Dentistry. I have previously completed a semester of Medicine at Pleven University in Bulgaria.

I know how tough it can be throughout school with the pressure of achieving the best grades you can and aiming for your dream university course. Having had my own difficulties and learning how to overcome them, I have a real passion in making sure that other students are able to reach their goals.

I am able to help with Biology (up to degree level), Chemistry (up to A-Level), other Sciences and Maths (up to GCSE). I can also provide advice with applications to Medical School both in the UK and abroad.

If you have any questions about anything above or anything that is not mentioned, please message me and i'll get back to you as soon as possible!

Hope to hear from you soon

Teaching Experience:

I have experience tutoring students for A-Levels and GCSEs during my time as a sixth form student and undergraduate. I have also helped with applications to medical school and entry exams such as the UKCAT.

I hope to build on this experience and help more and more students reach their full potential.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach is tailored to each student's needs and I am able to adapt my teaching methods to bring out the best in each student. I am very patient and I am able to identify strengths and weaknesses, allowing my tutee and I to really focus on particular areas in order to really get the best out of each session.

Personal Description:
Hello everyone! /Bonjour à tous !
My name is Sarah, I am an enthusiastic, patient and diplomatic young French native. I am willing to teach and help anyone with the beautiful French language.
What else about me? I am a music lover and enjoy going to gigs as much as I can, with a preference for the band Coldplay… I love long walks in nature (preferably with a cute dog by my side), and discovering new places.

I am currently unemployed and would relish the opportunity to gain experience in tutoring. I would love the opportunity to share my French skills with anyone needing help or willing to learn.

Teaching Experience:

I may not have the past of teaching but I firmly believe that my abilities are matching the role of Tutor. I am able to adapt to very different situations, and also well organised. Three years spent in the UK and translating articles from English to French for ColdplayCorner.com made me confident with the English language.
I proved my abilities with children by working temporarily in a primary school in France in 2012 and 2013. I was in charge of the supervision at lunch time and sometimes break time with kids from age 3 to 6.
I, later on in 2013, moved to London to learn English and the perks of the British culture. I was working as an Au-Pair/Nanny for 3 children (aged 7 to 12 when I started) in Camden from September 2013 to September 2016. I loved my job and being close to the children every day, the best positive experience of my life so far!

Tutoring Approach:

The idea of tutoring has held much fascination for me ever since I have a keen love for education and loved all my school years. I am convinced I have what it takes to develop and implement tutoring plans that best fit each individual student I could have. I could use my personal skills to always stay calm and positive with the students. I can work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds and can exhibit patience and judgement, especially where the need for both is dire.
For example, for anyone who wants to learn a bit of French, I would start with the basics and go more and more deeply in the language. I can make the lesson enjoyable by talking about one the favourite subject of the student. In my opinion, this is a good way of teaching and learning a language as it encourages interaction and communication. I can also do basic lessons and help students with their homework.

Personal Description:
My name is Silvia. I am an enthusiastic and qualified Spanish Teacher in London.

I hold a Bachelors degree in Hispanic Studies and literatures, Master degree in Advance Hispanic Studies, and a recently PCGE, specialist in Language Teaching.

My passion for teaching in a proper way, keeps alive my desire to continue learning. For this reason, my personal development has focused on the study of various teaching methodologies, particularly the "learning by doing" method which has been successfully implemented in all my classes, as well as the attendance at conferences, courses and forums on the use of ICT resources in education (e.g. E/LE Forum in Valencia, Spain AVE-Course Online for Spanish teachers, Institute Cervantes)

All my qualifications are equivalent in the UK and I have the DBS updated, but if you have any question about this, don`t hesitate to contact me.

Teaching Experience:

Regarding my experience, I have been working in London as a Spanish Teaching Assistant. This position enabled me to know the UK education system: helping students to improve their GCSE and A level exams, planning and to develop methodologies such as "learning by doing" or "CLIL" -Content and Language Integrated Learning- through different activities (e.g. managing Cultural sessions, helping with the LunchTime- Learning support club, etc.)

Also, l have experience teaching and preparing for DELE exams.

Tutoring Approach:

Usually the lessons are 1 or 2h long. Although, I am completely flexible in this aspect too.
Thus, You decide the place, the time and the way.
