Personal Description:
I am currently in my second year at the University of Kent in Canterbury on the course of PhD Chemistry. I did my bachelor degree in Forensic chemistry at the University of Kent itself where I obtained a first class honour.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently a graduate teaching assistant at the Universityof Kent and I teach chemistry/forensic classes to students in their foundation year up to students in their final year of their bachelor degree. I am also enrolled on an ATAP (Associate Teacher Accreditation Programme) course which run for 1 year and after completion I will most likely enrol into the PGCHE course. Moreover, I undertook a KS3/4 Mathematics teaching placement at a secondary school in broadstairs. My mother is a primary teacher and i used to assist her in teaching during private tuitions and at the school in which she works. Sometimes she used to leave the class on my responsibility. The kids loved me as a teacher.
Also, I worked for Kumon Learning Centre as a maths teaching assistant where I was in charge of various keystages students, starting from basic maths, which is learning how to count, up to GCE A-Level maths. However, my area of expertise is in O-Level and A-Level maths.

Tutoring Approach:

i believe that the best way to learn is not through rote learning. If the student does not understand when i explain something, i'll find different ways and contexts to explain it and i'll keep doing this until i am satisfied that the student is confident of himself/herself and that he/she can explain it to somebody who has no knowledge on that subject.

Personal Description:
I work in London as a research manager and teaching Mandarin is my personal interest. I enjoy helping my students achieve their goals and seeing them enjoy learning a new language. As an old Chinese saying goes "teaching and learning are reciprocal and should develop at the same time", I always teach with great passion. I live in St Albans and would prefer to teach in nearby areas.

Teaching Experience:

Over 7 years of part time teaching experience, from teaching primary and secondary school students to adult learning groups. Experience of working with young children of different cultural backgrounds and designing lessons to suit individual needs.

Mandarin teacher at Cranfield University community center (15 students) 2009
Individual tutoring 2008-2015

Tutoring Approach:

It's important to keep students interested but I have to say I am a strict tutor as I believe language learning requires a certain level of commitment. Chinese is not an easy language to pick up and I'd like to see my students try their best once they decide to begin this process. Of course I will try my best to help!

Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor, I consider it essential to engage the learner by way of providing for a versatile experience. It is crucial to stimulate the learning process by providing several forms of feedback. This takes the form of oral and speaking as well as listening skills feedback during lessons, whilst focusing more on written skills for homework. Reading can be done in either setting, however it is important that both the tutor and learner participate in the process. This approach gives a fairly structured approach to tutoring.

Personal Description:
I am a senior manager working within the public sector based in central London. My academic qualifications in this field are supported by extensive professional experience working within local and central government. I provide that sought after combination of in depth academic political knowledge with 'on the ground' relevant and extensive practical experience. Many of my clients comment on this being a significant factor in why I was chosen above other tutors.

I am not a State Registered Teacher. I like to ensure that this is clear. However the vast majority of politics teachers are not qualified in politics and have little in depth understanding of the nuances of British or US political systems. Many of my students ask me why I don't teach. The simple answer is that I can pick the subject I want to teach and throw 100% of my time into one student at a time.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive tutoring experience of A level Government and Politics and a proven track record. I am currently tutoring students for Edexcel and AQA A Level Government and Politics and essay writing. I can provide verifiable references from recent/current students.

The last round of exams (August 2016) all my students achieved a minimum two grade increase to their original grades (some going from E to B) and can provide details and personal references for any potential client to check. All of my students this year achieved a B or above.

A significant amount of my client base is built up through recommendations from previous clients. I also have extensive experience of teaching adults in an adult education environment and have an NVQ in Delivering Learning.

Tutoring Approach:

I provide tutoring on a 121 basis but am totally flexible depending on the tutees needs. I tutor to the subject syllabus, with the added value of my experience, expertise and contextual detail on current political and social events being included. I build confidence above all else.

It is always difficult inviting a new tutor into your house, but you will find I am relaxed, friendly, totally adaptable and totally reliable. My clients comment they can set their watch by my punctuality! I am available most evenings and all weekends but with sufficient notice I can also tutor during the day.

Included in the fee is full email and telephone support - no extra charges !! In addition the first consultation is free of charge for you to meet me and ensure that I am suitable for your needs. I will travel most places but if it is a substantial distance will add travel costs.

Many of my clients will support the fact that they actually realised they began to enjoy the subject following being tutored by me.

Personal Description:
I am an Oxford graduate (Worcester College), with a degree in Literae Humaniores (Latin and Greek language and literature, as well as ancient and modern philosophy).

I am also a highly experienced classical musician (a singer), having gained experience in a number of world-class choral institutions in Oxford and beyond. I am trained as a choral singer and as a soloist.

I am able to tutor the following subjects:

Latin (beginner/Primary/KS3/GCSE/A-Level or equivalent/casual or Adult Learner)
Greek (beginner/KS3/GCSE/A-Level or equivalent/casual or Adult Learner)
Classics (beginner/Primary/KS3/GCSE/A-Level or equivalent/casual or Adult Learner)
Philosophy (beginner/KS3/GCSE/A-Level or equivalent/casual)
Religious Studies (KS3/GCSE)

Singing (beginner to advanced - up to Grade 8 and for Adult/Casual Learners)
Music Theory (beginner to intermediate - up to Grade 5/GCSE)

I am willing and able to teach pupils one-on-one or in groups.

My academic interests include:
Renaissance Humanism and Renaissance European Scholarship
Tudor England
The Tudor Reformation
Classical Reception Studies, particularly the manipulation of the Classics in 17th Century Musical Drama.

My musical interests include:
Vocal anatomy
Pharmacokinetics of the voice
The neurophysiology of singing
17th Century Opera
Renaissance Lute Songs
Sacred music of Europe in the Renaissance.

Teaching Experience:

My main experience of teaching one-on-one is in the form of vocal tuition.

I also have experience of teaching in the classroom, where I have worked with children aged 8-11 teaching a variety of subjects (including English Booster Classes, English Literature, Reading, Egyptology and Drama).

I have a lot of experience of working with young people, with extensive experience gained from working with the Admissions department of Worcester College (at the University of Oxford) as well as working as a Choral Scholar at the College (where I had to provide an example to the young choristers of one of the choirs).

In addition to this I was a Junior Foster Carer for 11 years (from ages 7-18), where I worked alongside various members of Social Services in order to provide a stable home for children in care.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is a traditional one, particularly when it comes to the teaching of Latin and Greek, which is taught by composition into the language from English and through the reading of original texts.

I ask for a tutee to try their hardest - as long as they do, they will be met with a tutor who will give their all in order to help them achieve their goal, a tutor dedicated to his teaching and his pupil.

I also incorporate modern methods into my teaching, including the use of ICT and the latest examples of Digital Humanities e.g. The Perseus Project.

I have a decade of experience working in academia at both the University of Sheffield and the University of Surrey in Computer Science. My own PhD was attained in 2005 working in the area of Computer Graphics and Animation. I specialise in all areas of programming, particularly C/C++. Teaching Experience:

I have taught seminars, graded coursework, helped design courses at degree level, and have also tutored students to PhD level.

Personal Description:
Hiya!

I'm a Law student who has been tutoring for more than a handful of years!
With vast knowledge in the subjects that I specialise in, I only think its best to give back to others.
I have achieved well in GCSE and A Level English, Maths and Politics; hence the chosen field.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a support officer in my local primary school, as well as my secondary school helping children in various subjects such as Maths and English.
I have been a personal tutor as well as doing private tutoring from 2009 onwards 2015

Tutoring Approach:

My aim as a tutor is to help my students have understanding and confidence, when answering exam questions as well as being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. I cover the topics required, and work particular on the weaknesses that my students identify. Regular practice in the subject also helps me identify where the student needs more help. My approach varies on the student's needs as well as their learning style. Overall, I want my students to perform very well, and its amazing to watch them flower!
Recently a student of mine went into his exam with extreme confidence, and texted me 'I have learnt so much since you have started tutoring me, I feel very confident in the exam I just sat. Thank you once again'.

Personal Description:
I am currently doing my Ph.D in computer science. It focuses on the implementation of security and anonymity mechanisms. Over the years of my academic study I have worked in a variety of subjects in the field but I am mostly interested in cyber security techniques and cryptography. I have worked with programming languages such as C and Python and Assembly as well as with a variety of other tools. I am fluent in Greek and English and also proficient in research and study methodologies.

Teaching Experience:

As a private tutor, I have teaching experience in a few subjects of my field. I have the most teaching experience with cryptography, cyber security and C programming as well as English but I have also tutored in other subjects such as computer architecture, algorithms, English and some basic mathematics (mostly geometry).

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very direct approach that involves organising and presenting the information in a simplified form that is easily understood. I am also very proficient in professional study methods. These techniques can be used to organise study material that can be memorised more affectively and with the minimum amount of effort.

Personal Description:
I'm Charlotte and I'm 18! I've just completed my A Levels in Media Studies, English Language, and Theatre Studies. I'm very passionate about Media and my predicted grade is an A. Hopefully this September I will be moving onto University to study Film Studies with Film Production. I'm a keen helper and I've always been willing to support others in my class for Media, as my course was based entirely on a blog and I tended to finish ahead of time it meant I could support those who were struggling. While obviously I don't know everything I am pretty confident on how the A Level works and am super willing to support. I'd prefer to tutor over Skype or something as I still live at home and will also be moving away from home soon. Additionally tutoring over Skype means I can share work over the Internet which is beneficial to the course.

Teaching Experience:

Assisting in the classroom for Year 10-12 Media Studies students whilst in Year 13.
Supporting my local Primary School in homework

Tutoring Approach:

I'm the same age as many doing the course so I have very recent first hand experience of what to expect from it and how it is marked which is valuable for success. Being targeted Grade A means I know how to work to the amount of detail an examiner would expect from my work while keeping in touch with my own creativity.

Hi! My name's Jordan, I am a recent English Literature graduate from The University of Exeter. I am currently working as a part-time Teaching Assistant alongside my tutoring, and hope to start teacher training next year. I have always had a passion for Literature and spend most of my free time reading! I am friendly, patient and dedicated to helping others.

Teaching Experience:

I have lots of experience in proofreading, editing and advising on assignments. At university I was selected to work at the Writing Centre which offered help in writing academic essays, preparing presentations and preparing for exams. This mainly involved holding 1-to-1 sessions with other students as well as preparing and presenting the occasional workshop, usually on essay structure and exam prep.

I have been online tutoring for just under a year, and have completed numerous tutorials for students of all abilities, all of which have been rated 5*. Frequent feedback praises my organisation, clarity and delivery of sessions, as well as my in-depth preparation and extra notes to support students.

My interest in pursuing a career in teaching means that I also have some classroom experience. I'm happy to help with GCSE and A-Level studies as well as University applications. I can also offer designing specialised exam revision timetables.

Tutoring Approach:

Our tutoring sessions will be lead by you, covering specific aspects of the course that you are struggling with, or just things you'd like to improve on! As exam season is ahead of us, I'd also be able to help with revision techniques and exam advice. I am also able to read and offer constructive feedback on written work, whether it's an essay plan, draft or completed piece of work. Reading pupils' work and advising on grammar, structure, clarity and content is all part of my job at the Writing Centre, this is a particular area that I would be delighted to provide help in. Sometimes all it takes is a second pair of eyes to help! I am also able to proofread and offer constructive feedback on any personal statements or practise exam questions etc. So please do get in touch!

I'm more than happy to answer any questions or queries, just give me a call or email and we can talk through the areas you'd like to focus on. Please let me know which subject and level you are studying at, and if applicable which exam board you are with.
