Personal Description:
After leaving school, I studied at Nottingham University for a BA in Music, then for a MA in Theology from the London School of Theology. I have recently completed a research masters and am studying for a PhD. As well as studying, I work in a local secondary school running a mentoring program for students with difficult circumstances. My own interests are principally in theology, philosophy and politics, but also the arts, culture and social work. I am married, have one child, and am a keen football fan (Manchester United).

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Religious Studies at Secondary School and I have also worked as a freelance tutor at various points over the last few years for students studying Music, English, History, Philosophy and Ethics, at a range of levels.

I have worked with extremely bright students but also have a lot of experience of working with students with special educational needs.

Tutoring Approach:

Education is about more than being able to pass exams, although this is obviously important! I have worked hard for my qualifications and belive in disciplined, productive study; however for some students getting the highest possible grade is not necessarily the most important thing. Each person is an individual with different strengths and weaknesses, so I try to structure how I teach around individual needs and goals. When teaching I also believe that giving people self confidence, an ability to think critically and an enjoyment of the subject is an important part of helping them to improve.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm a friendly, highly motivated and intelligent recent graduate from the University of Sheffield. I'm twenty four and have completed Undergraduate and Master's degrees in Geography. I have consistently been a high achiever. My Degrees were completed with First class honours and Distinction, whilst I gained all 'A' grades in my A Levels. Since graduating last year I have invested my energies working for the Centre for Recent Drawing in North London as a curatorial assistant whilst building up my freelance tutoring work. I have a passion for art and am also a keen cyclist, enjoying long cycle rides out to Brighton or further afield. Furthermore, I am also preparing my thesis, completed at Masters Level, for submission to an internationally reputed academic geography journal.

Teaching Experience:

Whilst at college I participated in a scheme linking with local schools teaching basic numeracy skills. Since graduating I have built up my private tutoring, teaching Geography, Politics and English Literature up to A Level. However, I believe the best experience that I have is my own, recent experience of the education system, from A Levels to a Masters Degree. I am used to current syllabuses, and most importantly, I know how to succeed.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a patient yet enthusiastic tutor. I tailor my tuition to each individual tutee, looking at what goals each person wants to achieve and working out the best way I can help in their attainment. I will research the particular syllabus of each of the tutee's courses, tailoring my teaching to it. Importantly I have access to up-to-date syllabuses so all my teaching will be relevant. I also have access to exam papers and mark schemes to practice exam technique. I am an experienced editor, having copy edited published fiction. Therefore I am an accomplished proof reader of essays and can give excellent suggestions on how to improve essay writing skills.

Im calm, patient and devoted.
I like punctuality and assiduity.
I love talking but I'm also a very good listener.

Teaching Experience:

I have several years of tuition and almost three years of class teaching experience.

Tutoring Approach:

I love to teach and I can make learning very simple. with my methods I can get my pupils to love learning.
In my opinion the most important task, which has to be the first thing any teacher should do, is to teach the pupils to love learning. I conquer their affections, earn their respect and expect they see me as a helping friend.
after this hard work is done, teaching is easy.

Personal Description:
I am currently a student studying Economics at the London School of Economics. I am in my final year studying Economics at LSE. I graduated last summer from St Paul's Girls School receiving 3 A*s in Mathematics, Economics and Geography, as well as an A in Further Maths. I am a very friendly, happy, relaxed person to be around. I like Indian dancing, debating, playing Chess, cooking, watching Bollywood films and kickboxing in my spare time. In school, my favorite lessons were Economics, Maths and Geography, which helped me get understand the interdisciplinary nature of Economics. I have a younger brother and sister, and often explain complex concepts or theories to them in a simple, understandable and fun way. I have tutored several people in Maths and also was successful in tutoring someone Chemistry and Maths for AS Level. I have lived in 4 continents and speak 6 languages.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked in a Kumon Centre teaching English and Maths for a year. I also volunteered in a primary school teaching Maths and reading to children in Year 3. I have also tutored out of school in Maths and Chemistry A Level and have received excellent feedback. Now I am doing more Maths tuition, as well as 2 students in 11+ entrance exams, which I have had a personal successful experience with (Wimbledon High, St Paul's, City of London Girls, Tiffin Girls, Nonsuch girls).
Recently I tutored Chemistry AS Level OCR and Maths AS Level Edexcel Higher(April 2012- August 2012), 11+ Maths tuition (July 2012- Aug 2012), GCSE Maths tuition Edexcel (September 2012- present), 11+ Maths and General Science (September 2012- present).

Tutoring Approach:

I like to teach people in a very active, forward way. I also use many different ways as children often have different needs and abilities. I mainly focus on their age and try and tutor as much as the syllabus states, and even more if neccessary. I will constantly be engaging myself with my tutee, and do my best to make sure they understand a topic or concept before moving on. I like to review previous theories, problems or concepts by small tests or quizzes and my approach can best be described as dynamic, fast and fun. I am very good at reviewing material and offer summary sheets and quizzes to make sure my tutee has grasped the concepts which I have bought, and I also do weekly review sessions to go over material I have given the tutee to work on during the week. I do not give tests as such, but do go through past papers with students, and make sure they are working on at least one paper a week, to mark progress.

Personal Description:
My name is Resham and I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2010 where I read Economics.
I studied Economics, Mathematics and Modern History for A-Level, and English Literature at AS-Level, achieving A-grades in all of them.

I worked for nearly two years at the FSA, working on financial regulation and Economic Risk and am currently an Economic Advisor to an MP where I focus on Economics.

I have continued tutoring due to my love of teaching and I believe that it benefits both me, and the student.

Teaching Experience:

In 2013, I tutored six students through to their exams. Out of those, all six achieved higher grades than predicted, (or were predicted As and got them) and three of these students were in their final year, and achieved the grades necessary to get into their University choices.

I have over 200 hours of experience in preparing students for University- helping students with their personal statements and interview technique. I have also worked for Oxbridge Applications and have been trained extensively in mock interviews.

I have a lot of experience in tutoring A-Level Economics, and helping students prepare for interview. I have helped students from different backgrounds and achievement levels and have received positive feedback.

I have tutored students in order to prepare them for interviews- mainly for degrees in Economics, or related degrees and have helped students applying to Oxbridge to guide them through the process.

Tutoring Approach:

The most important thing when tutoring a student is to be patient and kind as no student benefits from an environment in which they are made to feel stupid or slow. In fact, the problem is often the way students are taught and so I try to make lessons as interactive as possible to ensure that the student really understands what I teach them.

I believe that it is important to tailor the Tuition classes to the needs of the individual student, in order to help students realise their full potential. Students learn in different ways and so it is important to recognise that the method that works for one student, might not work for another.

I like to sit-down with students to establish what they are hoping to achieve, and where their strengths and weaknesses lie in the subject. That way I can ensure that the lessons are as helpful as possible for the student as I try to help the student achieve their goals.

For Long-Term students, I have found that it works best to track the lesson plans according to what has been taught in school during the week. This allows me to help students to to ensure that any misunderstandings are dealt with quickly so that they can build on this knowledge in the next week's lessons at school.

For students close to Exams, I focus more on the concepts that are fundamental to the subject to boost the chance of gaining high marks in the exam. I also focus on teaching exam technique.

Personal Description:
I enjoy maths and helping other people to enjoy it too. I have always kept up my interest in maths by studying with the Open University and I particularly enjoy finding ways to use games and puzzles to create interest and understanding. I worked in business computing and always enjoyed the training side of the job. At the moment I am working as a private tutor, helping my husband to renovate and restore a seventeenth century house and training an unruly young sprollie dog.

Teaching Experience:

I have a PGCE in secondary maths teaching and taught in a secondary school for one year. During my career in IT as an analyst/programmer I trained staff in programming techniques, and also trained users as part of the implementation of the many systems I was involved in. My enjoyment of maths and teaching led me to refresh and extend my skills by studying for a PGCE in post compulsory education. During the course of this I gained experience of whole class teaching, one to one and small group tutoring at GCSE and A-level.

I have now been working as a private tutor with individual pupils for a year and am learning all the time! I have experience of students taking GCSE maths for the first time and with those doing resits. I can offer tuition up to AS level (C1, C2, S1). I have experience of working with students with dyslexia. I am also an Adult Education Tutor and work with people returning to maths later in life.

Tutoring Approach:

I love helping other people to understand and enjoy maths, and I know that the classroom is not always the best place to do this - many people need the individual attention that one to one or small group tutoring gives in order to bring up their basic skills, learn to build on them and so gain confidence and enjoyment. Maths is too often the subject that people learn to hate and fear - a little one to one help can turn all that around. I aim to give my students a good understanding of the subject rather than learning one-off tricks and rules.

The following is an unsolicited testimonial from one of my tutee's parents:

"Deborah is a very professional tutor and always tries to make our son's weekly maths tutorial as beneficial, creative and enjoyable as possible. She is very dedicated and prepared to listen and help and follows up her tutorials with useful homework for our son to work on during the week. You can see how much personal satisfaction she gets from helping our son, which is great.

I would not hesitate to fully recommend Deborah and her approach to tutoring maths. She clearly cares about her work and helping children to get to grips with maths."

Personal Description:
Hi, my name`s Fraeya and I love teaching people about my favourite subject - Chemistry!

I offer online skype-based lessons and offer these at only £10 per hour. These offer a very similar style and level of tuition to face to face sessions but are far more convenient for both parties. The tutee and I talk through the subject we have agreed to work on and we use drawings, images, word documents to supplement the conversation.

I also offer face to face sessions for £20 per hour for those who live in Bath.

I`m a Chemistry graduate studying for a post-graduate Chemistry/Chemical engineering degree (PhD). I really enjoy chemistry and achieved top marks in my exams at school and University.

I`m a friendly, patient and enthusiastic tutor with one year`s experience (mostly face to face). I understand that this subject can be intimidating, so I find different ways of explaining the topics you don`t feel comfortable with and trying to improve your confidence. We will focus on whatever you wish to work on, be it revision, exam technique, coursework, or simply going through each topic on your course. Chemistry is fascinating and I like to use interesting real-life examples to stretch you.

Availability-Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5.30. Less preferable are Saturday/Sunday or weekday daytimes. If you live outside of Bath, I will consider it if you want two hours of tuition, otherwise I'm afraid it just isn't worth the time!

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Teaching Experience:

I`ve tutored 3 students in A-level Chemistry over the past academic year.

I also teach undergraduate chemists and chemical engineers and have often been the person my friends and colleagues come to for help during my 8 years of science education.

Trained to explain science in ways that make sense to everyone, including running exhibits at the Cheltenham Science Festival.

Have designed and led courses such as revision skills and mind mapping.

Year`s placement making additives for an international chemical company, and real life experience of applied chemistry.

I`m a friendly, patient and enthusiastic tutor with one year`s experience (mostly face to face). I understand that this subject can be intimidating, so I find different ways of explaining the topics you don`t feel comfortable with and trying to improve your confidence. I specialise in informal but focused online lessons with plenty of drawings on computer software or on paper. We will do a lot of problems to help with both understanding an exam technique. We will focus on whatever you wish to work on, be it revision, exam technique, coursework, or simply going through each topic on your course. Personal Description:
I am an 18-year-old student of Reading University, studying English Literature with French. I have achieved A*-C grades in both subjects at GCSE and A-Level.

Teaching Experience:

I have acted as a Teaching Assistant in Music and Drama. I helped Year 8 and 9 Music students to create melodies and lyrics for compositions and taught dramatic techniques to a Year 9 Drama class. I have also had experience in helping French GCSE students with their oral examinations. I have also helped with a close reading of a poem in a Year 8 English class. Some of the students I have worked with were monitored for bad behaviour, where I had no trouble in teaching them at all.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very passionate about English and French, so I'm always energetic and try to be fun when it comes to even the most tedious parts of the subject. I will aim to show your child how interesting these subjects can be through interesting activities, but I'm also able to teach in a disciplined manner; always aiming for the best.

Tutoring Approach:

I am fortunate enough to have been a very popular teacher throughout my adult life. I am extremely passionate about teaching, but just as interested in my pupils and in devising personalised teaching methods to suit each individual's needs and personality. I believe that a warm, trusting and fun relationship between teacher and child is of paramount importance to boost pupils' learning. I focus on ways of creating the most stimulating and fun lessons possible for each individual, which is why I spend as much time preparing each lesson as I do teaching it! I have always loved teaching, have always been told by pupils and parents alike how good I am at it - but I especially enjoy working with children. I've been a published author of teenage fiction at Random House for eight years now. I've had six books published which have won awards both here and abroad and have been translated and sold in over ten different countries. I am currently working on my seventh. I have always maintained that however successful my books might become, I would never want to give up teaching as I thrive on this career and am still in touch with pupils I taught nearly twenty years ago! I insist that every new pupil begins with a trial lesson as I strongly believe that it is of vital importance that a child feels comfortable and gets on with their teacher in order to maximise their learning potential. I have a Certificate in Child Psychology and also like to work on the psychological aspect of learning - by focusing on trust, self-confidence, a 'give it a go' attitude and strong self-motivation. I have been very fortunate to have a wonderful relationship with every one of my pupils so far in my career and I have a large box of Thank You cards and letters that I treasure.
