Personal Description:
I am a lecturer at a college teaching Engineering and Mathematics. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Teaching Experience:

I have a fair amount of teaching experience at university level. I have been teaching GCSE level students for over five years now. Mathematics and Physics are my key areas, although I have taught engineering subjects (theromodynamics, Heat Transfer)privately

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is firstly to asses the candidate and handle his needs accordingly. Step by step approach by way of examples makes learning easier and fun. Enforcing and instilling core concepts is what I focus on. Learning can be fun if the environment is conducive so things can be unconventional and easy going.

Personal Description:
Hello there, my name is Tony, an accounting tutor. Here's the secret...

Most students imagine accounting to be a subject riddled with daunting calculations and demanding a higher form of intelligence. This is not so. In my years of teaching students I have discovered that most students fail because they study the wrong thing. Look at it this way. To understand the working of a balance sheet [statement of financial position] most students memorise the order in which elements are applied. This is the cardinal sin.

To be a successful student you must understand why we need a balance sheet and what information users of this particular financial statement are looking for. When you look at it from a users perspective [understanding who those users are and what they want] your mind no longer tries to remember what was after what but your mind starts to actually determine what needs to be there to satisfy the users questions regarding a companies affairs.

This way you can forget the specific format but you can always recreate it because you actually understand what is going on and why it is going on. Give me a call, I'll help you see the better side of accounting.

Teaching Experience:

I have 3 years of tutoring students in the UK. I am passionate in what I do and I enjoy helping students.

For online students I promise you an experience you never thought was possible. You will be able to see my white board/note pad on your computer screen. Every stroke or letter I write will appear on your screen instantly. It will be like we are in the same room. Please give it a try and if you do not like it I will give you a full refund.

Tutoring Approach:

I focus mainly on two aspects; Understanding of the subject and Examination techniques. To achieve this I encourage one to one tutoring although in rare cases I accept groups.

Personal Description:
I like to be busy! I feel it is important to maintain a work-life balance, which, although admittedly was a steep learning curve in my NQT year, I have managed to achieve and perfect in my subsequent four years in teaching. I have five pets - three rats and two tortoises, which sometimes feels like a job in itself, although I adore them and wouldn't give them up in a second. I enjoy keeping fit and healthy and particularly enjoy running, cycling and fitness classes. Occasionally, I take part in events such as marathons, half marathons and cycle rides and raised 1000 for charity a few years ago by running three half-marathons in three subsequent months. I am also part of a local amateur theatre group and usually take part in one or two shows a year. These have included Little Shop of Horrors, Gigi, Sleeping Beauty and A Christmas Carol, amongst others. This has given me an enthusiasm for drama which I have explored through yearly key stage Christmas productions and assemblies at my last school, where I taught for 5 years. Finally, on my weekends off, I enjoy watching movies and reading on an occasional "duvet day."

Teaching Experience:

I qualified as a primary school teacher in early 2006 and began supply teaching in Reading, where I had studied for my Education Degree. In May 2006, I began working in a one-form entry primary school in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, where I taught for 5 years and additionally led 5 curriculum areas in the school. During my time in this school, I planned and taught all National Curriculum subjects to children with a range of abilities and needs, including children who were "gifted and talented", children with autism and Downs syndrome, and children working below national expectations. A classroom with children working at a range of levels and with different interests and learning styles makes for challenging teaching, but allowed me to develop and hone a creative and flexible approach to teaching. I was observed regularly as part of continuing professional development, and in observations by my last two Headteachers, was graded as "excellent".
I am currently working as a Lower School Leader, teaching Reception and leading the Early Years and Key Stage One. It is a busy job with lots of challenge but lots of fun.

Tutoring Approach:

I have been tutoring for two years and have a few children I see regularly. I am keen to take on more, particularly in the school holidays. My teaching apporach is very flexible. I understand that everyone learns in different ways and at different rates, so this is reflected in my teaching. I cater to a range of learning styles, and ensure that my lessons are fun, yet suitably challenging. I feel it is important to keep learning fun for children of all ages, to motivate them to want to learn and to empower them to take ownership of their own learning. I feel teaching should be more than just a series of worksheets, and for children to really understand and take on new concepts, they need a range of approaches to enable them to explore their subject matter. For example, lessons may include work on a laptop, written work, games, experiments/investigations, role-play & drama and more.

Personal Description:
I am a certified teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language. In May 2012 I finished the Master de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria y Bachillerato, FP y Enseñanza de Idiomas in Spain, a program similar to a PGCE. I am also working on the dissertation on another master program that will qualify me as a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language. I enjoy Qualified Teaching Status since November 2012 and I am familiar with the English curriculum and the programme of study for KS3-4 in all aspects related to teaching Spanish as a MFL. I have taught Spanish to people of all ages and nationalities and also have classroom experience as a Chemistry Teacher (ages 15-16 and 17-18).

Teaching Experience:

I am an experienced professional with a strong academic background and I am confident that I can be a valuable asset to your school. To be part of your teaching team will be a fantastic opportunity for me because it will also give me the opportunity to embrace the British culture again.

I have worked very hard to become a good teacher. My grades have been outstanding and I am receiving very good feedback from my instructors. I have carried out the practical phase of the teaching programme (Master in Secondary Education) in the same high school that I attended many years ago. In this school I have been responsible for teaching Chemistry and Physics to over 60 students and I also implemented a social learning environment to support their learning which has received very good feedback from my students and the lead teacher. I have accrued more than 800 teaching hours to date. I have the skills required for a classroom teacher and also the specialised skills required for teaching a second language.

Tutoring Approach:

From my own experience, I believe that learning a new language is similar to opening a door into a world full of possibilities: traveling, getting a new job, meeting new people and, in general, becoming a stronger individual both personally and professionally. In my classes, I like to tap into that part of each of my students that is exited about learning a new language, because that motivation will lead them to succeed in my class.

As a language teacher I firmly believe that in order for the students to succeed, two things must be present in the classroom environment: trust and respect. I have a lot of experience as a language student, Spanish is my native tongue and I have learned English, German and a bit of French and I have struggled with that first phrase I wanted to say out loud thinking that I was going to make a mistake or that it was going to sound funny. I understand that not everyone learns a language at the same rate and speaking in a foreign language takes courage and self-confidence. Courage and self-confidence are supported by an environment of trust and respect. In my classroom there are always ground rules: we are all here to learn, we learn from each other and we must respect each other.

The other very important aspect for me is making sure that the level of proficiency is correctly assessed. If the classes are too challenging or too basic, a negative environment not conducive to learning is created. Even if proper evaluation is made before the groups are formed, there will always be differences inside the classroom. I, as a teacher, try to be as aware as possible of this factor and strive to use that for the good of the group. Pairing a strong student with someone not as strong usually helps. Another important issue that I try to be as aware as possible is preventing the strong students from taking over the exercises and leaving behind other students that, because of either lack of confidence or not being at the same level, stop themselves from actively participating in class. In my classes, I make sure that everyone is heard and that I can evaluate progress of all my students.

Personal Description:
I am an Arabic linguistics PhD student at the Language and Linguistic Science Department of the University of York. I hold a BA in English literature and linguistics as well as an MA in translation studies. I am also a native speaker of Arabic. My study makes me familiar with written Arabic and spoken Arabic in its different forms (dialects). This is why I am quite familiar with Egyptian, Syrian, Lebanese, Saudi and Sudanese Arabic.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English as a foreign language and Arabic for 10 years at higher education institutions. I also taught Arabic for adults as well as young people at home as a self-employed teacher. I can also teach Arabic online.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching depends on immersing the learner in enjoyable daily-life situations with a native speaker so that he/she can easily imitate and, after not too much effort, read, write and speak Arabic like a native speaker. Culture cannot be separated from language. So, I also immerse the leaner in the main cultural aspects of Arabic-speaking countries in general and offer a brief background to language as reflected in culture. Also, I try to compare Arabic (as a language) and the culture represented by it with other languages, including English, French and German (languages that I am familiar with).

Personal Description:
I am currently working towards my first year of a maths degree at the University of Birmingham. I have always enjoyed maths and excelled at it so tutoring the subject seemed like the next logical step.

Teaching Experience:

I have helped people in my classes during school and also tutored some of the younger years at GCSE and A level maths.

Tutoring Approach:

This would depend on the level of work, I have multiple approaches to mathematical problems and I believe it is best to try and ascertain the method that works best for the particular student as quickly as possible. From there I would try to teach the methods which seem easier with numerous examples. Maths is a subject which is always has a right or wrong answer and practicing exam questions is the most useful tool of revision.

Personal Description:
I am a professional artist and qualified teacher, having completed a PGCE in 2007. Since then I have continually taught in a variety of roles. Before becoming a full-time artist again, I was Head of Art at a small sixth form in central London for two years. I have also taught at the London College of Fashion for the past eight years as an associate lecturer on various courses, I have amassed considerable experience of devising tailored lesson plans for different age groups, abilities and interests. I am a positive and pro-active teacher, and attach great importance to making art accessible, rewarding and fun for students.

As an artist I am committed to furthering my painting practice in my studio and also enjoy experimenting with alternative photographic techniques in the darkroom. In 2014, my work has been selected to be shown in the Threadneedle Prize exhibition.

Teaching Experience:

My specialist teaching area is drawing and painting, although I have a broad range of technical skills that also encompass printmaking, 3D and photographic processes. My experience of working in the creative industries spans both the fine and applied arts sectors, and the same is true of my teaching experience. I have taught, photography, fashion illustration, illustration and contextual studies, as well as fine art, on a range of courses.

I taught A-Level Fine Art and Photography for three years (2011-14) and have previously helped students dramatically improve their grades when they have retaken their A-levels as an intensive course. Students have gone from a D to an A grade and a U to a B and as a result have been able to go on and study at the university of their choice.

My AS, A2 and GCSE students have achieved great results and the individuality and standard of the work has been praised by external moderators. At the London College of Fashion, I worked on the UAL Art and Design Foundation Course, helping students prepare their portfolios for degree applications. I have a proven record of students successfully going on to being accepted onto their first choice of course at a range of institutions. Admissions tutors on the Foundation and BA courses my students have applied for have commented on work made during my classes as being of a high quality and imaginative.

Tutoring Approach:

I am interesting in enabling students to create work that is personal and meaningful to them, as well as showing them a wide variety of approaches, skills and techniques to best express their ideas. I have a positive and encouraging approach and also enjoy building students' confidence so they can take creative risks and fulfil their potential.

Personal Description:
I am 26 and currently living and teaching in London. I have always had a passion for teaching and working with children and I believe that providing the right education at an early age can be a very powerful tool, giving children the best platform to make the most out of life.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently teaching in a London primary school. I achieved the CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education, before going on to study for a BA Honors degree in Educational Studies and Early Years. For the past eight years I have worked alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum. During this time I have gained valuable experience in a variety of settings, working with children from 0 - 11 years, as well as those with special educational needs. I also have experience as a nanny and in home tutoring.

Tutoring Approach:

I am hard working and results driven and thrive when given responsibility and presented with new challenges. I am always looking for innovative ways of doing things and fun new learning techniques. I will bring the determination, passion, commitment and empathy needed to help children excel themselves in a way that makes them look forward to learning.
The primary years of a child's education provide the academic foundation that shapes children's basic knowledge, skill and understanding while implementing positive attitudes towards their learning experience. I believe this to be the most important stage in a child's development and one of the reasons why I love to teach this age range.

Personal Description:
I am an 18-year-old student of Reading University, studying English Literature with French. I have achieved A*-C grades in both subjects at GCSE and A-Level.

Teaching Experience:

I have acted as a Teaching Assistant in Music and Drama. I helped Year 8 and 9 Music students to create melodies and lyrics for compositions and taught dramatic techniques to a Year 9 Drama class. I have also had experience in helping French GCSE students with their oral examinations. I have also helped with a close reading of a poem in a Year 8 English class. Some of the students I have worked with were monitored for bad behaviour, where I had no trouble in teaching them at all.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very passionate about English and French, so I'm always energetic and try to be fun when it comes to even the most tedious parts of the subject. I will aim to show your child how interesting these subjects can be through interesting activities, but I'm also able to teach in a disciplined manner; always aiming for the best.
