Personal Description:
Olá!
So you want to learn Portuguese or maybe you need to brush up your skills and need a reliable, competent and very experienced teacher to support your learning?

Look no further!

I have been working in Essex for nearly 10 years, helping people from all backgrounds learn and ENJOY Portuguese language.

I am originally Brazilian, however I have strong links to Portugal (parents and relatives) and actually was brought up listening and speaking European Portuguese at home.

I started teaching when I was 18 years old - a looong time ago! I have participated in extensive training and workshops throughout these years, in order to improve my teaching skills and be up to date with the latest technologies and ideas in language learning.

Later in my life, I did a BA in languages (Portuguese and English) which helped me to polish my knowledge of the subject I teach and gave even more tools to increment my classes.

Teaching Experience:

I love Portuguese language and love to teach it as a second language.

I love the grammar, the literature, the sounds of the language, the cultural aspects and even the subjunctive!

As a result, I made from Portuguese my profession and because I love Portuguese so much, I don't really feel I am "working" whenever I am helping a learner in my classroom. I feel I am having fun!

I have been "having fun" with the Portuguese Language for nearly 20 years and I also like to write articles for magazines on the subject of language acquisition.

In 2012 I started to prepare students for the GCSE, AS Level and more recently I have been putting together a manual with the syllabus of DIPLE certificates (Ministry of Education in Portugal) so that I can prepare students willing to take on this certificate.

Oh! I write my own teaching books as well.

As I set up my own classroom and courses, in accordance to the European Language Framework guidelines, I also offer certificates after each level is completed.

Tutoring Approach:

When it comes to make a tailored course, I take this philosophy very seriously and no material and course plan is the same as students needs are different and most of all, the speed one wants to have during the classes are also very personal.

I like variety when I plan a class and I usually surprise my students with different and interesting activities based on videos, music, flashcards and lots of cultural awareness too.

I take my students once a year to Lisbon for a "Study Trip" when we spend 5 days immersed in the language, learning the sounds, the new vocabulary, the "taste" of the language and they love it so much! We also get together to enjoy a Brazilian barbecue every now and again, we watch samba shows in Essex etc. Everything is planned so that students can make a strong link between the language and the culture of the people who speak that language.

Go on! Get in touch and I will tell you more about my work and you are free to visit me in my classroom.

Personal Description:
Qualified and experienced EFL specialist. I've been teaching English as a Foreign or Additional Language for 7 years to a wide age range and for a variety of specialist purposes.

I've been teaching in China for the last 3 years and will move back to the UK in July. I'm looking to start tutoring again from August so please get in touch if your looking for a tutor to start around then.

I'm a calm, organised and friendly person. I enjoy teaching and I want my students to enjoy learning English and to see the progress they are making.

I'm very interested in using technology in learning and for students who like learning with screens I will integrate other websites and apps into their homework and preparation.

I learned French in school and I'm continuing learning Chinese. I remember my language learning experience in school and in China, I know what a struggle it is to understand new grammar rules and how difficult it can be some weeks to make time to practice. I try to create an enjoyable and supportive environment in lessons so it is not stressful to make mistakes and students don't leave feeling tired out by learning.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught :
• English in south China for 3 years (2013-2016)
• English as a Foreign/Additional Language for 7 years (2009 - present)
• students preparing for IELTS and PTE
• students writing dissertations and theses
• beginner English speakers and native speakers
• students from 7 years old up to retired grandparents
• English for Business, Medicine and Engineering
• preparation for driving theory and food safety tests

Tutoring Approach:

I like to incorporate games, puzzles and challenges along with the content to help you engage with and better understand how to use the language. I'm very adaptable and will plan lessons based on what you want to achieve and how you like to learn.

For students getting ready for a test I can prepare a course of lessons with exam specific practice and a focus on the areas that most concern you.

For primary age students I have a variety of fun and engaging activities that get them excited about joining in lessons and learning English.

For university students I can give tailored lessons to help with essay, paragraph and sentence structure. I can also review grammar applied to the context of your subject to help you in your academic writing.

I am a PhD student with a passion for impacting knowledge in children. I have worked with children for the past 10 years on various subjects.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught children aged between 4 and 11 maths/reading and writing in the past. This was mostly voluntary due to the passion I have for children. I equally tutor chemical engineering students at the university.

I teach with school books and internet materials. Visual aid is a necessity as it give a clearer picture of what is being taught. Personal Description:
¡Hola! My name is Estefanía and I am a native speaker of Spanish from Madrid. I absolutely adore learning languages and I try to improve them everyday. My motto is that teachers should never stop learning their subjects so that their students can get the cream of the crop in every single lesson.

I would say one of my strongest points is that I speak fluent English so I would not have any problem to switch back to your language if something is not completely understood, and it is also great if you have just started to learn the language!

Teaching Experience:

I hold a BA in English language and literature and I also have a diploma in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE). Before coming to England, I worked as an English private tutor in Spain for more than 4 years so I have large experience in teaching foreign languages. I have tutored students from all ages, especially children and young adults so I know what teaching approaches and activities can work best depending on the age group.

Tutoring Approach:

My lessons are carefully designed to address each student's needs so please do not hesitate to let me know what your objectives are! Whether passing your GCSE or being able to chat with locals in your next trip to Spain, I will definitely give my very best to help you achieve your goal.

Personal Description:
I am a professional Artist and Teacher, specialising in Ceramics, Craft, Drawing, Textiles and Creative Writing.

Throughout my crafts and art work, I aim to change the context of found and recycled objects; whether it is finding a new purpose for unwanted books or creating narratives using my porcelain figures. I intend to capture the beauty that is no longer seen in unused objects. This concept is also what draws me to making with clay; using a raw and natural material to create something new and beautiful. I aim to celebrate how aged and recycled objects can be revived into a new and innovative creation.

Throughout my figurative illustrations I am greatly influenced by children's drawings and how they lack perspective and proportion. They are not realistic images, however, with our symbolic awareness as human beings, we are able to recognise the qualities of a figure within ourselves. I believe these imprecisions are something to be admired.

Personal Description:
I am an inspiring, qualified and experienced Spanish and French teacher. My enthusiasm and patience motivates pupils to achieve their full potential and to understand concepts they may struggle with in school. My years of experience as a classroom teacher has allowed me to try and test techniques to ensure pupils make progress from Year 7 to A-level and beyond.

Teaching Experience:

I qualified as a teacher in 2012 and I have taught French and Spanish from Year 7 to A-level in a secondary school since then. I have been a Sixth Form tutor and so helped pupils write UCAS references and prepared them for Spanish Oxbridge interviews. I fully understand the requirements for AQA and EDEXCEL exam boards for both the old and new GCSE and A-level. I regularly assess and monitor my students' progress and set them achievable targets. I am in regular contact with students' parents so they are aware of their child's progress and targets.
Prior to qualifying as a teacher I was an English as a Foreign Language teacher for 2 years and have tutored for a year.

Tutoring Approach:

I ensure lessons are tailored to meet individual needs and use a range of resources in each lesson. Pupils are set targets which they work towards and I guarantee that my tutees do make progress. Lessons are engaging and cover all four skills; reading, writing, speaking and listening as well as grammar. In addition, I expect pupils to complete independent learning tasks (homework) so they can make the most of tutor contact time.
