Personal Description:
I am a qualified Modern Languages and English as a Foreign Language teacher. Languages have always played a big part in my life and have given me the opportunity to travel to, live and work in many different countries. Being able to speak another language is a valuable and rewarding skill and I enjoy encouraging and teaching others to do so.

Teaching Experience:

I have now been teaching languages for nearly 20 years. I spent 5 years living in Italy working as a language teacher, translator and then Director of Studies of an international language school in Milan, as well as one year teaching English in both Spain and France. My work abroad was varied, teaching language for Business Purposes in multinational companies, schoolchildren, general adult groups and private individuals wishing to learn for personal satisfaction.

In England I have worked as a Modern Foreign Languages teacher in both secondary and primary schools, tutored adults and children in private lessons, taught English for Academic Purposes at universities and English as a Foreign Language in adult and junior language schools.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring depends very much on the needs of the student, so the content of a primary school lesson will be very different from that of an adult's lesson. Therefore in the first session I assess competence and needs, and base my tuition on these. I have been learning languages myself for 30 years in a variety of different settings, and can appreciate and anticipate learners' difficulties. I am encouraging and approachable, and make lessons enjoyable.

Personal Description:
I am passionate about teaching languages, mostly orientals, and also coaching martial arts and self defence. I coach the EWTO-WingTsun 梁挺詠春拳.

I have been always curious to learn the most popular foreign languages useful in Europe to understand what was said around me at all the times and to be able to communicate for business purposes with people when abroad; well... I can help you! Contact me!

Or perhaps you have chosen MFL at school and need a bit of a boost for your revision before the exams??

Do you want to strengthen your CV by showing your linguistic competence in a demanding market? I can help you with Mandarin or Japanese!

If on the contrary you need to learn how to protect your self with something really different; I have been teaching WingTsun and Escrima in Italy for 2 years and in Macclesfield (Cheshire-UK) for 1 year. I keep travelling south London, and to West/South Europe, to receive updated training and attend special seminars.

In the first 6 to 8 weeks of the beginners program you'll learn the basics for a proactive and "pre-emptive" self defence and to deal with the most "common" types of attacks. This is the Blitz-Defence program.

Afterward you start a more sophisticated training program where you learn to deal with an aggressor in a less violent way by using our unique tactile skills training method.

I can assure you, you will terminate every lesson by learning something new and useful! All I need is your concentration.

Teaching Experience:

Currently tutoring Italian (advanced level) and Japanese (basic level) in all the 4 skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking).

I have lectured comparative martial art's cultures at the University of Suwon, College of Physical Education (Republic of Korea).

Translating Keith R Kernspecht: "Kampflogik3" from German into Italian.

July 2013 Swinton (Manchester)
I have been tutoring in Mandarin to one of the school kids acting as the main character of the TV program "The 4 o'clock Club- CBBC". Program included conversational repetition of the program he studied at grammar school: Introducing your self, talk about daily activities, hobbies and preferences.

January 2012 - PRESENT: I have been teaching Italian language since January 2012 on 1-2-1 base and via skype when I am abroad.

February 2012 - April 2012: I taught Japanese language for absolute beginners via skype.

April 2010 - February 2012: I taught at The Mill Languages School, in Macclesfield town centre: Mandarin, Japanese, German. In particular I have taught German language to a tailored group to refresh their skills.

August 2015 - PRESENT. Tutoring Japanese language to beginner level via skype. My student is a primary school teacher who is planning to have a work experience in Japan. Focusing on oral linguistic skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I am based in Macclesfield and I teach in an informal and yet methodical way; I can teach colloquial and formal languages.

As for WingTsun 梁挺詠春拳 and Escrima (weaponry) I teach privately and/or classes or different venues.
Each 1-2-1 class has to be booked.

Personal Description:
I am a practicing photographer and I love to share my passion with others to help them to take better pictures. I am the in-house photographer for Leeds Grand Theatre and Leeds City Varieties and undertake a wide range of commissions. I am also an Insight Guides/Independent on Sunday travel photography award winner and have mounted a number of solo exhibitions.

Teaching Experience:

I have delivered photography courses in a range of settings including schools, colleges and community venues and have been a member of the portfolio review panel at degree level. I also have experience of using photography with adults with learning disabilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I run a range of creative and fun courses, which offer learning in bite-sized chunks with plenty of time to practice and ask questions. Courses are held at my studio in Thornton, West Yorkshire, birthplace of the Brontes.

I also provide one to one tuition, usually at my studio, but I am equally happy to travel to a different location.

My approach to tutoring is relaxed but stimulating and is student centred. I endeavour to home in on the subjects, which interest my learners and provide activities appropriate to the student's learning style.

Personal Description:
My name is Haidee, I'm a 19 year old from Liverpool studying French at The University of Liverpool. (I often go to Kirkby and Fazackerly to work and see family so would often be available to tutor in that area too). I have thoroughly enjoyed learning French for 8 years and would love to pass on my knowledge so that you can enjoy learning French too! This is my first time tutoring but I have a genuine love and flair for languages and have enjoyed teaching friends in my own time, so please don't let this put you off as I would love to help!

In school I sat my GCSE early at the age of 14 (year 9), passing with a B. I then continued to study French for the final two years of school and passed again with an A*. I also started studying Spanish in the last two years and passed with an A. During college I studied French to A2 level, passing with a B. In my time in college I spent a week each year in Montpellier living with a French family and attending a French language school, which I really enjoyed and feel helped me with my learning.

In my free time I love to cook (although I'm not very good at it!), go out for meals (when my cooking goes wrong!), read and watch films. I also love to practise Tae Kwon Do, which I started at the age of 15, although I don't do this since I moved away to university.

Teaching Experience:

This is my first time trying tutoring, but I often helped my sister with her French to GCSE level. I also helped a friend of mine who struggled in school to pass her English and Maths GCSE by using imaginative teaching and memory techniques, to which she was very grateful. Due to having friends that also study languages I am used to being able to help others in areas in which they struggle. I have worked with children and young adults from age 2-18 part-time for the past 3 years and so would be comfortable teaching from all ages.

Tutoring Approach:

Throughout my learning experience I have found that it is best to learn the basic rules and grammar of a language from the start, as this has made it easier to build on this. I have lots of quirky ways of remembering things myself and would urge you to figure out how best you learn in order to develop your own style. I also enjoy to watch films/news, listen to music and read genuine French articles to enhance my own learning and would be using these to make your learning more interesting. As not every individual is the same I will adapt my teaching to suit your style and meet your individual needs and if there's something different you want to do please let me know so I can change!

Personal Description:
Bonjour!
I am a fully qualified, native French teacher (PGCE from the University of Portsmouth, Summer 1994).
I am married with two older children, themselves going through examinations at the moment. I also have four cats.

Teaching Experience:

I came to the UK in 1993, started teaching in a school in Sept. 1994 and teaching privately in 1998.
I no longer teach at a school but instead, teach privately to individuals or small groups.

I have been an examiner for AQA since 1998 so I am very aware of the skills and knowledge required by examination boards. I am currently a team leader for French GCSE and an examiner for A2.

I have taught a wide range of students over the years: KS3, GCSE and A Level, adult learners, younger children and adults in a business environment.

Tutoring Approach:

What I enjoy the most is to see people make big improvements and become confident with their French, from the moment they start to understand how the language works.
I am a good communicator and feel that I can understand people`s difficulties quickly so we can work on those aspects and start to make progress, once the foundations have been put (back) in place.

I am a dedicated, hard working and well organised person who enjoys seeing her pupils do well and (re)gain confidence.
I plan all my lessons very methodically and provide all papers / worksheets to my pupils. I also set homework and, more importantly, mark it! Very often, pupils will email me to ask me to check a piece of writing / homework that they are working on, and I am happy to help them with this too.
