| Personal Description: I am a graduate of Maths and Science and post graduate of Business Studies. I have 10 years of private tutoring experience. My students have done very well in their exams and shown marked improvements in the fundamental understanding of the subject as a result to the tuition. |
Teaching Experience: I have tutored students privately over past 10 years. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is to understand exactly what the areas of concerns are and concentrate on those. I then also ensure that the student has a good overall grasp of the subject. My training is also based on the academic requirements of the subject and I tutor students to do well in whatever exams they are taking. |

| Personal Description: I am 29 years old and hold a Masters degree from Oxford University. |
Teaching Experience: I have been tutoring on a one-to-one basis for over 5 years. I also sometimes teach small classes. I am happy teaching children, teenagers and adult learners. |
Tutoring Approach: My teaching uses traditional methods and lively interaction. I expect the student to complete tasks between lessons. Without repetition and revision no-one can be expected to remember. Therefore, I am not afraid to go over the most basic elements until they are well known. Solid foundations are the basis for confidence. |

| Personal Description: I am 29 years old and have been an English teacher for 5 years. Having recently moved from Devon with a young family, i am now seeking more flexibility in my career. I relish the challenges that teaching provides to work with young people to develop their knowledge and understanding of a subject and hope that one-to-one home tutoring will provide a valuable forum to work closely with a variety of children to help them to achieve their dreams and aspirations. |
Teaching Experience: I have been an English teacher for 5 years and have experience across the 11-18 age and ability range. During that time I have developed a confident and motivational teaching style which I hope inspires my students to try their best. I have a particular interest in using learning styles to inform the delivery of my lessons, to ensure that the information being conveyed is accessible to each and every child. |
Tutoring Approach: Being new to home tutoring I will start from the beginning with each and every student. This will involve finding out about their preferred learning styles, what their strengths and weaknesses might be and what current areas of English they are studying in school. Finally I will discuss what the child and their parents want to achieve through a home tutor, this will then enable me to create a individualised teaching programme that is targetted towards their needs and goals. I am a patient and considerate teacher and believe in creating a positive learning environment to inspire confidence and motivation in my students to enable them to achieve their full potential. |

| Personal Description: I offer tutoring to cater for students of all ages and abilities. I am an enthusiastic and dedicated person & see myself as being down to earth, patient and very sociable. Always up for a challenge I usually keep myself busy juggling work life with my other interests and so my organisational skills are well developed. Relevant background I am studying for my Doctorate degree in the fields of Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Biological Devices and Applied Business at the University of Cranfield & graduated from the University of Leeds with BSc Hons (2i) in Biochemistry. My strengths lie in the Sciences however I would feel comfortable tutoring students in Economics, Finance, Accounting and Marketing modules as I have completed these at MBA level as part of my doctorate. Interests As a keen Rugby player I am currently president of the Cranfield University Rugby Union and Rugby 7's teams and am involved in the coaching of the team running fitness sessions and taking them through both individual and team based tactics and drills. I enjoy travelling and love to learn new languages. On my travels I have discovered that I have a knack of breaking through communication barriers and getting my point across, whether the barriers are language based or culture based. |
Teaching Experience: India 2004 I spent 6 months teaching English to children aged 8 - 16 in a school in the heart of the ancient city of Varanasi (North India). During my time there I learned to respect that each student has their own individual needs and works at their own pace. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching there and was pleased to see the progress each child made in the short time I was there. Tacit Fusion I act as a part-time consultant to a start-up firm (Tacit Fusion Inc.). My job mainly consists of going through complex scientific concepts with the representatives of the company in a way that a non-scientist or less matured scientist could understand. Rugby Team I regularly help coach training sessions, guiding the team through various drills to improve their fitness and understanding of the game. Due to the nature of the University, the Rugby team often consists of new students each year, meaning that it is quite a task to get a team together to a decent standard enough to win games. This year, through more focused training, as a team we were able to finish on a high note, winning our last game of the season. |
Tutoring Approach: Drawing from my own experiences as a student I have observed some key characteristics that differentiate a good teacher from a bad one and try to follow these when I mentor my students: Teaching through examples Making classes fun and being approachable Ability to lead the student towards an independent style of learning whereby they are self-sufficient in study Setting clear objectives that are actually realistic and reachable I like to take a less formal approach because I realise that people learn best when they are comfortable and not worried about issues other than the work at hand. Each session will be tailored especially for that particular students needs, working through the syllabus at a pace that stretches their mind yet is something they are able to do. I try to use pictures, visual aids, even stories and analogies to help the student to learn and most importantly retain concepts. I then hold regular revision sessions with the student to reinforce the learning from previous weeks and move towards going through examination questions. I expect the student to put in hard work as I can only help to motivate and guide them through the sessions if they want to learn. |
