Personal Description:
I am passionate about languages and do share this passion with my students. I am a native speaker of both French and Arabic and I love the way my students are curious about the way sounds are pronounced.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught French, Arabic, and Spanish at University, secondary and primary school level and have headed Modern Language and Arabic departments in schools in the UK and Abu Dhabi. Between 2009 and 2014 I occupied the position of Director of French and Spanish at De La Salle School (Essex). currently, I teach Arabic language and cultural studies on the undergraduate degrees in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Westminster.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching style is very creative, I endeavour to make my lessons enjoyable and I use a lot interactive games with my students. A language lesson for me has to be engaging rather than just teacher led.

Personal Description:

I am a dedicated and experienced Maths and Science tutor.(GCSE and A Level Maths plus GCSE and A Level Sciences). I focus on each individual that I teach with the view of enabling each of them to achieve their full potential and to remove any barrier to progress. I work hard to keep up to date with ever-changing specifications and expectations of public exams and to collect or prepare resources that match them accurately. I am positive in my approach to life and people, which allows me to create an enthusing learning environment for individual students and for groups. I show empathy and understanding when students struggle with the contents but I have also high expectations and I aim to support them to develop resilience and a strong work ethos.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching Experience:
I have taught in educational establishments for many years and I have been a tutor for the last four years. My lecturing experiences include the University of Southbank, where I prepared students to start their Degree courses and sixth form colleges like BSix, in Hackney, where I taught A levels in Science and Maths. I also taught in schools both in UK and abroad. My teaching experience have given me a good understanding of the British curriculum, including success criteria for public examinations. As a tutor, I have been committed and determined in ensuring the best possible outcomes for those I teach. As a result of my passion and effort, I have seen many of my students building up their confidence and achieve good or excellent grades in their exams.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring Approach:
Before each session, I work hard to prepare the appropriate resources for the student that I will teach. These include exam questions, practice exercises, revision notes, videos and presentations. When approaching the individual student, I always try to diagnose what barriers are preventing him from improving further and I make sure that the student understands what they need to do and how to do it. Feedback on exam questions is an important part of my tutoring: I want students to reflect on their level of understanding and on their exam strategies. In revising concepts, I explore my student's knowledge and address any gap or misconceptions that they may have built up in their previous study. Students find my sessions enjoyable and helpful

Personal Description:
Recently made the decision to take voluntary redundancy from Volvo Truck and Bus where I had been employed both in accounts and as P A to the MD for 26 years. I wish to concentrate on teaching languages which I enjoy so much.

I have a 21 year-old daughter living at home with me while studying medicine at Glasgow University.

Teaching Experience:

I have a degree in French and German and have been tutoring both children and adults for many years, although my enthusiasm has never waned.
I attended a TEFL course two years ago and am still improving those skills through an on-line course. I find this very easy and enjoyable as I come from the generation who were thoroughly taught correct English grammar and spelling.

All my pupils who take exams achieve excellent grades and I can supply references to testify to this.
Languages are fun!

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a thorough method of learning languages - not the 'phrase-book style' fashionable for some years. As much speaking practice as possible is essential.

Having so many years' experience, I have many practice papers and CD's for school exams and excellent courses for adults.

Any parents considering additional help in the lead-up to exams should try to start this as early as possible. I may be expert and dedicated but I don't have a magic wand to work miracles over the last couple of weeks before an exam!

Personal Description:
My name is María. I´m a enthusiastic and motivated teacher willing to help you to learn everything you want to know about Spanish language and culture. I believe in a practice-based learning. I think every language is alive and we shouldn't learn it as a dead theory.

Teaching Experience:

I'm a qualified teacher with a Spanish-teaching title recognized by University of Barcelona and International House World Organization. I also have a Masters in teaching secondary and languages education (PGCE) and a Bachelors in Fine Arts. I have experience working in secondary schools and adult education in the UK.

I think Art and Language are very close to each other, both of them play an important roll in the world's communication system and in the development of society. Art&Language are pure culture and a very important thing in the development of children too.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that teaching Spanish is much more than teaching a bunch of grammar rules, it's teaching our art, gastronomy, our understanding of life… in short, our culture.

I use a communicative approach to the language, so grammar is always in context and at the service of real communication skills.

I focus on the objectives and needs of each student or small group. In the first lesson I will give you a level test and a content negotiation where you can tell me what grammar and cultural topics you are more interested in and how you prefer to learn them. You are the protagonist of your own education!

To teach in the best possible way I use a wide range of activities that I prepare to fit you.

Personal Description:
I am a 25 year old PhD student in Spanish Literature at the University of Cambridge. I have a first class-degree in Spanish and German language and literature as well as an MPhil in Spanish literature which I completed in 2014. I have a range of experience that would make me ideal for teaching young people and adults from beginner up to A-Level standard.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored Spanish to school pupils with learning difficulties at both beginner and GCSE level and helped them to significantly improve their performances.

I was also a group leader at the Villiers Park Educational Trust in Cambridgeshire, aimed at language applicants from less advantaged backgrounds. Throughout the week-long programme I was responsible for delivering a series of seminars as well as one-to-one tuition on subjects as varied as Spanish vocabulary and grammar, to cinema, literature and history. The programme was such a success that I have been invited back as a tutor this year.

Tutoring Approach:

I am available to give online tutoring to young people and adults in Spanish and German from beginner to A-Level standard. I can work you through the basics of the language or the more complex material for advanced students. I'm happy to teach any aspect of the language or culture you need. I am also available to teach in Cambridge city centre, where possible.

Personal Description:
I graduated in Classics (5 years) in Italy. I made extensive studies in Ancient Greek and Latin languages and literatures. The final thesis dealt with the historical fragments of Cato the Censor. I am now leading a research doctorate in Roman history at the University of Newcastle. The research concerns the tribunes of the plebs within the Mid-Republican period (218-134 BC), especially focused on the political role of the tribunate in shaping the Roman politics through their legislative action. My first language being Italian, lessons are available both in English and in my mother tongue. As for the Italian literature I can cover all the centuries of its great history, from the pre humanistic time (Dante, Petrarca, Boccaccio), until the twentieth century.

Teaching Experience:

I have had experience of teaching in the italian school as a substitute teacher of Latin, Italian and Ancient Greek at the Liceo Classico. I also taught at Universities, most notably Latin and Ancient Greek, in quality of private tutor.

I run seminars in Roman History during the first academic term (2015-2016) at Newcastle University, focusing particularly on the works of the Greek historian Polybius, Sallust's historiographical view concerning the role of the common Roman people in order to determine the events described within the Bellum Iugurthinum, and the political issues of the last period of the Roman Republic that emerge from Cicero's speech Pro lege Manilia.

Tutoring Approach:

Lectures, with particular attention to the requests of the student. Translation exercises (focused on the morphology and syntax of both Ancient Greek and Latin), which are essential to strengthen and, if necessary, to deepen their knowledge of the classical languages. Additional readings compared to the tasks assigned by the school.

Personal Description:
I am a current Materials Science DPhil (PhD) student at the University of Oxford. I recently graduated from the University of Cambridge, with degrees of Master of Natural Sciences and Bachelor of Arts (honoured, First Class). I did Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Materials Science. In my A-Levels, I obtained A* in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. I have DBS check available if requested.

Teaching Experience:

Since September 2014, I have been tutoring students (from primary school to GCSE, A-Levels and university level) in one-to-one sessions for one year, in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. I helped my students by explaining new concepts, working through examples and past papers. I was also a member of the Study Aid Society at Cambridge, where we shared academic information and learning experiences with each other and students in junior years on a regular basis. During my A-Level years, I also had two years' experience of tutoring junior students.

Tutoring Approach:

I am good at helping tutees solve problems, e.g. worked examples, past paper questions, and I am happy to adjust as needed. I also help to revise and polish Personal Statements for college application as an additional service, for which I am also a member of a qualified education agency.

Personal Description:
I am 53 years old, have lived in Manchester all of my life (except for a brief time in Glasgow where I met my wife!) We have five children and usually have one or two foster children with us. We love to do stuff together; camping, fishing, walking, canoeing, you name it, we'll have tried it. By my friends I am known as Bar-B-Q Steve. To my tutees I'm known by a variety of names but mainly as the guy who helped them get where they wanted to get to. They all started in Manchester but are now truly all over the world doing some amazing things; this brings me the greatest pleasure.

Teaching Experience:

I gained Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) in 1987. Since then I have worked in both High School teaching Physics and in Primary School as a class teacher. Five years ago I further qualified as a specialist maths intervention teacher. I presently work at a Primary School running maths intervention programs. I have received and given training in the new 2014 National Curriculum and am therefore aware of new approaches being used by schools.

Tutoring Approach:

Being a current school teacher, I am always keen to find a strategy that fits alongside what your child's school is providing. This I do by studying materials your child brings home, observing strategies which your child uses and occasionally by speaking to schools. I believe lessons should be both educational and enjoyable. There is a pleasure in self-improvement which I will want to build into your child so that they grow in self-confidence through learning.

Personal Description:
I'm an Oxford physics student who enjoys teaching and learning maths and science. I am friendly, academic and approachable.
I achieved 4 A* grades at A level, in physics, chemistry, maths and further maths. At GCSE level, I achieved 11 A* grades, including maths, further maths, triple science and English.

Teaching Experience:

I tutored several different students for a number of years in maths and science whilst I was at school, all of whom subsequently saw improvements in their grades. I am also currently helping with a voluntary tutoring programme in Oxford for educationally disadvantaged children.

Tutoring Approach:

I mainly offer intensive end-of-term revision courses in maths and science. I am free at the moment until 15th April, and will be free after that from 18th June.

I like to agree goals with the tutee before starting, both long term and for each individual tutoring session, so that I can prepare to work precisely on these areas for improvement.

I would happily offer discounts for multiple tutees.
