I taught some A Level Accounting students, whose school teachers predicted they would each achieve a grade D, but with my one to one, personal high quality and methodical teaching, they achieved either grade C or above.

July 2008 to April 2010

I supported a young student who was studying for BA Business Accounting at the university by tutoring her in the Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Analysis and Corporate Finance subjects. As a result, she achieved a 2:1 Grade. It is pertinent to note that the young student did not have any prior knowledge in Accounting. She took A Level Drama, but changed to do Accounting at the university, which makes her achievement much more remarkable.

Tutoring Approach:

In my current role as an Accounts Lecturer, I have adopted a methodical approach to my teaching. The preparation and use of scheme of work, session planning, syllabuses, timetable, lesson notes and handouts helps me in presenting my lessons in an organised and logical manner, and ensuring that the syllabuses are substantially covered. I am confident and positive in my teaching and able to build confidence in the students themselves, which helps in achieving the learning objectives set for each lesson and thereby achieving the overall objectives of the course. I adopt a mixture of pedagogical and andragogical approach to my teaching. I thoroughly explain first to the students, demonstrate a couple of examples, then get the students to demonstrate their understanding, by getting them to do some work themselves.

I first became interested in teaching through working as a private tutor with GCSE students, something I am doing since I finished my graduation, training to become a leader in the process. This made me realise I enjoyed working with the people in their learning process, and college experience confirmed tutoring/teaching as a career choice. My subsequent one year PGCE has served further to fire my enthusiasm and prepared me effectively to take responsibility for learners.

I have completed PGCE , a Masters and a BSc in Economics, level 5 Mathematics in Mechanics, numeracy level 1 & 2, Diploma in Computer Science & Application and I am a Certified Internet Webmaster Associate.

Teaching Experience:

I am teaching for last 5 years. In addition, I worked as a Teaching Assistant over two years.I have been privately tutoring primary and secondary maths, A level maths and Economics on one-to-one basis since 2003. My academic education and teaching practices have given me a good understanding of the curriculum and of what makes effective teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I make a conscious effort to ensure I am not just catering for visual learners like myself, but try to see lessons through other learners' eyes. For example, to introduce pictograms to numeracy entry level class, I got the learners to create 'human pictograms' arranged by name length, pets, eye colour, etc. and then transferred that information as pictograms to the board. Kinaesthetic learners were thereby catered for in the physical movement and manipulation, visual learners in the pictograms created on the board and audio learners as we discussed and interpreted the graphs.

I have in particular come to understand the value of sharing learning objectives and success criteria with students. Knowing exactly what is expected and how they can achieve allow learners to focus more clearly on tasks.

I feel it is important to make learning interesting and creative, and one way to achieve this is using real life example; this allows learners to explore and understand situations and express feelings, thoughts and emotions. An example of how I have successfully used real life situation was with a GCSE class, working out the area of the classroom to decide the correct amount of carpet needed for the classroom. I gave the students measuring tape to measure the length and width of the classroom. They were incredibly enthusiastic and threw themselves into the task. They found this a fun, enjoyable and worthwhile learning experience, which enabled them to better understand the situation and empathise with those concerned.

I have a BA Honours degree in French and Spanish from the University of Leeds, and a post-graduate diploma in International Business from the University of Cambridge.

I am an enthusiastic teacher with a love of learning, and throughout my career have proven a consistent pattern of tutoring, teaching and training designed for and delivered to all ages. I believe that in order for a student to do well that they must feel engaged and be encouraged to think for themselves, and that rather than simply learn set answers to set questions they ought to know the subject to such an extent that it feels natural and unforced.

Teaching Experience:

My earliest teaching experience was tutoring a pre-GCSE student in English reading and comprehension whilst being in secondary school myself. Moving on from this I spent two years, again whilst still studying, teaching weaponry and aviation to cadet students of secondary school age.

Whilst in University I spent an academic year based in the Caribbean, on a French-Speaking island, where I was contracted to teach English as a foreign language to 6th form students ranging from 15 to 18 years of age. This was a wonderful experience and I was proud to have been able to coach my students into having a greater understanding of their chosen learning language, and to visibly see them gain confidence with their spoken foreign language skills.

Presently I very much enjoy being based in an Early Years setting Huntingdon, where on a weekly basis I teach French to our Pre-School age group who are between three and five years of age. Again this is very rewarding and at the same time challenging: not only is this teaching done with a group of between 8 and 14 children, but because we have many children who are already learning two (or maybe three!) languages I have to also ensure that our curriculum is as developmentally and culturally appropriate as possible.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to provide a solid grounding in Arabic, English and Koran while paying close attention to the needs of the individual. Learning should be fun and engaging, not a sort of punishment.

When teaching Koran, I don't impose my views on the student. I only educate him/her on what the text says and leave its spiritual interpretation to his/her judgement.

I have always had a very approachable manner as a teacher as I have always believed that this is the best way to relax a pupil and make their mind more pliable to different approaches. I fully understand that mathematics can be a challenge, and this I believe is where my very patient and empathetic demeanour can produce results quickly and restore a pupil's self-belief. I am thorough in my preparation, professional in my presentation of written materials, and prompt and comprehensive with marking. Teaching Experience:

I have been a qualified teacher since 2006. From 2005 to 2012 I taught at Swansea College (now, Gower College Swansea) on a range of programmes including BTEC courses, GCSE and A-level Mathematics. While at Swansea College I continued tutoring mathematics privately, building my knowledge of the demands of Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, and developing a range of strategies to effectively teach those specifications.

Tutoring Approach:

I strongly believe that mathematics is based on a number of core principles, and success in mathematics depends on a concrete understanding of these principles rather than rote learning of topics. My private tutoring sessions are always designed around the effective delivery of these principles. I am always flexible in my approach, and I understnd that a pupil's attention may be distracted by something that they remember they have covered in a formal lesson. However, my commitment to ensuring that the principles are understood will not change. My lessons last for 1 hour and 20 minutes, and incorporate a 5-minute introduction to the objectives for that session, 1 full hour of teaching and a 15-minute review at the end.

A qualified teacher of Business Studies with 2 years Math and Business experience. I have a passion for teaching and for seeing my pupils succeed. I can quickly build a rapport with pupils, by finding out about their interests and relating them to the subject at hand.

Teaching Experience:

5 months Mathematics TA (edexcell) and Buisness and Economics teacher 2016.
1 month Teaching assistant experience in special schools via agnecies 2016
4 months teaching range of subjects in KS3,4 and 5 including Business Studies, Finance, Health and Social Care, Travel and tourism. Also supported Math GCSE retakes for KS5 students oon a weekly basis,


I have taught business for the past 2 years and am well acquainted with the OCR, Edexcell and AQA exam board requirements.

Tutoring Approach:

I work with pupils to build confidence, knowledge and understanding. I am patient and passionate applying visual, audio, kinesthetic methods to help students learn. Learning should be fun and accessible for pupils and I aim to achieve exactly that.

Personal Description:
I am a Spanish nurse currently working in UK and I would like to help with learning my language to who wants to (any age). I think it is the best way to learn the culture from each other and it is a useful way to spend my free time.
I like work with people and I think it could be a rewarding experience.

Teaching Experience:

I worked as tutor of biology for primary school childs when I was studying my nursing degree. It is my experience of teaching and working with childs.
It would be my first experience as language teacher.
For tutoring Adults I have not previous experience yet but I think it could be a great way to learn from each other and my work makes my feel confortable when working close and with people.

Tutoring Approach:

I think the best way to learn a language is to prepare some scenarios to talk about. I would Split each lesson in a first part of grammar and writting skills and a second one for speaking about prearranged topics.
All lessons or tutoring meetings can be online using Skype but I have no problem if we are meeting at my home.

Personal Description:
I am a student currently pursuing my MEng in Civil Engineering at Imperial College London. I finished my A-levels last year at Wellington College, Berkshire, UK, where I achieved 3A*s 1A. I currently live in a student hall in central London (Kensington) and am willing to travel small distances for tutorial classes. I am undoubtedly strongest in teaching science/math-based subjects such as KS3/GCSE/A-levels maths, physics and chemistry as proven from my A-level results.

Having only recently finished my A-Levels, I believe I am very familiar with the current UK education system. Besides, I feel I can relate and communicate with children, teenagers easily due to our narrow age gaps. This definitely helps learning because communication is key in tutorials.

In terms of language, I achieved 8/9 marks in the IELTS exam, which proves my English language proficiency.

Teaching Experience:

I started tutoring back in Hong Kong, where I travelled to kids and teenagers aged from 9-16 for tutorials. When I arrived at England for my sixth-form studies, I volunteered in teaching younger students (GCSE) at my school weekly. I have also been to Eagle House, a prep school which has ties with Wellington College, for tutorials with younger students.

Tutoring Approach:

First things first, tutorials has to be interactive and fruitful at the same time. I have experienced the difference between boring, too-intensive tutorials and interactive, interesting and productive tutorials, so my tutees definitely won't experience boring, harsh and unbearable tutorials.

Every lesson consists of these targets which should be completed:

1) recap of materials learnt in school
2) Q&A session between tutee and myself
3) focus on homework
4) focus on difficult, tricky concepts
5) final recap and a few questions from me for consolidation

Throughout the course of tutorials, I will spot the weakness of particular topics of my tutee, and further focus on it.

During exam periods:

1) exam strategies and techniques
2) past-papers (KEY!!)
3) extra lessons if needed

If my tutees have any questions, I would be able to answer them via Skype, telephone, text or social media.
