Teaching Experience: I have two years of experience in teaching Spanish to kids (7-12 years old), for whom I tailored my lessons to perfectly fit their needs and interests in order to make it both educational and really fun. One of the greatest satisfactions of this experience was when one of my students took a Spanish exam and got into an advanced level thanks to my sessions. I also worked two full years as a teaching assistant in general and organic chemistry laboratories during my Chemistry Master's Degree at Wake Forest University. I was in charge not only of the preparation of material for the laboratory, but also of the tutoring of students in the theory of the experiments during and after the sessions. I was also in charge of grading reports and exams. The main satisfaction of this job was the opportunity to have an influence in the interest of students towards science. |

Tutoring Approach: I find it is necessary to take several different approaches when teaching maths. The way different people learn can vary alot. So I find it is important to be able to see more than one way to solve maths problems. Often it helps to go right down to basics to show why the later equation works, as often once you understand why its much easier to use it. Other's would rather having a list of different formula's to use which they can just memorize for each occasion. |

Teaching Experience: During my degree I worked as an English Language Assistant for the British Council on my Year Abroad in Germany (2006-7). I taught pupils from 11-18 in small groups or larger classes, going through grammar and vocabulary as well as doing more fun things like playing games. Tutoring Approach: During the first meeting we will talk about our your baseline level (how much do you know, what have you done so far), your aims (what do you want to learn/be able to do after the sessions), possible perceived weaknesses and strengths, etc. This will help us work out a little "study plan". I like to encourage discussions and general oral use of a language, but will organise the sessions according to your needs and feedback. |
