Personal Description:
I am an experienced maths tutor of over 10 years. I work as a Research Scientist in the daytime these days, although I have lectured at University in the past. I am a registered marker for KS3 Maths.

Teaching Experience:

University Lecturer
Private tutor for more than 10 years

Tutoring Approach:

The key to teaching Maths is building confidence through plenty of worked examples in the student's weaker areas. Through careful teaching a student's confidence can soon be improved when they see that they can do the work they previously thought difficult. I provide detailed notes and homeworks for every lesson. I will also go through exam technique, revision schedules and past papers.

Personal Description:
A postgraduate student at Cass Business School, studying Actuarial Science. Just graduated from University of Manchester with Mathematics with Finance.
As a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese, I grew up in Hong Kong and had been studied in Malaysia for 2 years and Hong Kong for the rest. In addition, I have 2 younger sisters as a eldest brother and therefore I do well in tutoring. In my past Foundation year, I gained A* in Pure Mathematics, and A* in Business Mathematics and A in Computer. I am convinced that my academic achievement makes me a good fit in tutoring Mathematics for GCSE/A-Level students.

Teaching Experience:

In past, in Hong Kong and Malaysia, I tutored friends and anyone who were around me in Mathematics, which gave me loads of chance to enhance my teaching approaches.
I taught in Manchester last 2 years as well.

Tutoring Approach:

I would be more than happy to go trough past exam papers and exercises as for Maths with students.
Surely, to prepare notes and advice certain study skills for the students in Mathematics. I reckon that tutoring in a friendly manner would enhance learning process instead of forcing the student to do as said. You are more then welcome to have a briefing before the first tuition in order to make sure we have the same goal.

Personal Description:
I am a language fully qualified teacher based in a comprehensive secondary school, specialising in Spanish. I am very enthusiastic, friendly and approachable teacher with a fascination for Spain and the Spanish speaking world, along with other countries and languages particularly French and German. I am a native Spanish speaker. In my spare time I enjoy outdoor sports like running and walking and playing with my own children in the park.

Teaching Experience:

I'm a fully qualified teacher. I have been teaching for eight years in a comprehensive secondary school in England. I am currently teaching Spanish from year 7 to A level (KS3, KS4 and KS5) and French from year 7 to 9 (KS3). I am very familiar with most of the exam board (AQA, Edexcell, WJEC and OCR). I have also been teaching International Baccalaurete (IB Standard and Higher level and IB ab initio) for two years. I have conducted speaking assessment and moderated written assessment for GCSE, AS and A level and also IB exams so I have great experience with exams specification.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm a very patient person and ready to help to build up your confidence. My lessons are always planned to meet my students' needs. I always include the four skills ( listening, speaking, reading and writing) in all my lessons. I believe that practising exam techniques are the keys to achieve the best results in your exams.

Personal Description:
I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2009 and work as a manager tutoring maths part time. I work shifts so I'm generally available at any time throughout the week and weekend. I'm friendly, enthusiastic and make my students feel at ease so they feel comfortable to ask for help with questions which they may not have the confidence to ask during classes at school.

Teaching Experience:

Seven years tutor experience with pupils from year 8 up to adult learners. The majority of my students have been studying for their GCSE's.

There are many teachers on here which may be perfect for some children as a tutor. I am not a qualified teacher however all of my previous students have selected me for that sole reason - so their child has a tutor and not a teacher to help them with their maths. They have all felt instantly relaxed with me, more inclined to ask questions and extremely driven to prove themselves.

Reference available upon request

Tutoring Approach:

Every child is different so it's explaining a topic in a way that makes sense to them rather then the way the teacher wants them to learn. If the child feels relaxed with the tutor they are more likely to understand something rather then just feel under pressure to say they understand.

Personal Description:
Ben is a technically and artistically accomplished in portraiture photography and been quoted by professors at a university as a master in the studio. He love's to make the photos encapsulate you and who you want to be. Ben strives to capture the details and emotions that would go together to make your time with me an enjoyable experience.
Ben is a social person and loves to get to know the people he works for, so he can really reflect their character and what they want, so to produce the highest quality work for and give them exactly what they are after. Ben aims to spend time chatting with you in advance so that your time with me is so much more productive.
Ben grew up in West Africa where his parents worked amongst the poor coordinating small-scale development projects. This had a massive impact on his life and photographic practice affecting how he relates to the world around him. In his photographic work, he has taken a special interest in reflecting stories and voices through his images. For example, he travelled in Uganda and Thailand and used photography to be the 'voice' of the people he photographed.
Although Ben's formative years were spent in Africa he was educated in Guildford, Surrey at George Abbot School that specialised in the expressive arts. During these years, his creative flare became more apparent when he took A-levels in Fine Art, Sculpture, and Photography. He progressed onto doing a Foundation Degree in Action Photography at Truro College where he specialised in Sport, the Natural world and Social Documentary and began to prepare for a more commercial direction. Ben still maintained his roots in expressive art during the foundation degree but also developed his technical skills thoroughly. Ben had the opportunity to be the photographer for 24/7 magazines in July 2008 at the Newquay Ripcurl Surfing Festival.
In 2009, he progressed on to Plymouth University to study for his BA Hons in Photography where he achieved a 2.1 studying under Stephen Vaughan and Dr. Simon Standing. During this course, he spent time looking intricately into the how we view our bodies and others around us. He concluded the year specializing in fine art nudes and portraiture, with a project called 'The Paradox of Perfect Beauty'. This study challenges the ideologies of beauty in history, sculpture, and figurative representation and critically analyzes the standardized figures and body shape used in art as well as in modern day commercial advertising, fashion and other types of portraiture. In the final exhibition, Ben aimed to present a personal discovery of body image and consequent self-affirmation. Ben was fortunate to be able to exhibit some of his work at the D & A D-New Blood Exhibition in London in June 2010.
Many photographers say they are good but even the perfect image that ben has he can still see my own flaws in you get the highest quality with me and won't be disappointed. In this digital age, many people can snap you but ben can give you an artistic flair, which is also of superior quality. He is sure that you will want to share the photographs he produces. Don't hesitate to contact me to discover more.

I also work in a apple shop in Guildford so can teach about apple products and how to use them both in conjunction with software like photoshop or one there own.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring photography from many years to all different ages and abilities from young kid's to University and Mature Learners, I started my teaching with teaching english in Thailand and working as a assistant youth worker and having to teach different subject and activities. I have furthered my experience with children running children Holiday camps over the school Holidays.

Tutoring Approach:

i have a relaxed approach to teaching trying to have an objective view to someone work but giving prods and direction where needed i lile for my students to discover the answer themselves and the satisfaction you see from them when this happens is the best part of the job every achievement is given praise and every downfall is looked at as not a failure but a part of the learning curve.

Personal Description:
I am a 54 year old mother of three grown up children and one a adorable granddaughter. I love working with young people and children. And really enjoy encouraging young people to fullfill their potential. I may be slightly more expensive than university students who offer tuition however I have teaching and exam experience and good exam results.

I have 14 years experience teaching Biology in an outstanding school; teaching GCSE and A Level.

I have a good exam results track record. On two occasions supporting over half of my GCSE students to gain A*; as well as many of my A level students gaining A and A*.

I also tutor primary aged children Maths and English.

My tutoring takes place after school and on Saturday mornings at my own premises.

Teaching Experience:

I have some early years experience from when I lived in New Zealand for fourteen years. However, my more relevant experience to this is I have a 2:1 degree in Biomedical science, and 13 years experience of teaching KS 3 science, KS 4 and A level Biology.

Tutoring Approach:

As I am a very positive person I encourage my students with lots of praise. However, this is not just when they do well but also when they try hard. I emphasise that its learning from mistakes that improves learning. I strongly encourage the ethos of having an open mindset; only by giving something a go can you succeed! I lead my students to become independent thinkers and learners.

Personal Description:
Hi,

My name is Kerry and I have a Masters in Translation and Interpreting plus a BA in Modern European Languages (French, Spanish, Italian)

Can show certificates as proof as and when required.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience teaching English as a foreign language (in an Italian High School)
I also have experience teaching GCSE French/Spanish in an English High School.

Tutoring Approach:

I like learning to be fun, otherwise it becomes a chore.
I find that it helps when learning a language if you can relate to what you're learning. For this reason, expect a lot of current affairs, current music, current films etc. to be included in the tutoring.
Obviously, curriculum specific work can be carried out too.

Personal Description:
I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language now for some time. I am a fully qualified TEFL teacher with a Merit result.

My students tell me that I am patient, kind and I give lessons on a 1:1 basis to help ensure a focused time is spent.

I have an MSc with Merit and BSc (Hons) degrees so I am fully aware of how studying can be challenging.

Another set of lessons I give are those of homework support, revision planning, exam preparation and assignment writing.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for many many years and over the past year, I have been focussing especially on TEFL.

My students are mostly adults, some are already in work, some are medics (I am one myself) and some are new to this country.

As a practicing medic I am naturally CRB checked and I take safety very seriously.

Tutoring Approach:

My first approach is to listen to my students' needs and establish where their strong and weak points are.

I then create a lesson plan.

We arrange to meet either at my home or at my students' home - whichever is best.

Personal Description:
I have been teaching for over 10 years and am a specialist in A level chemistry. I am currently working as a teacher. I am very passionate about chemistry and recognise that it how important it is to get the grades at GCSE and A level to get into the course at university that you really really want.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified teacher currently teaching A level chemistry. I have over 10 years experience.

Tutoring Approach:

It is really important to understand the basics for all the complicated bits of chemistry to make sense. The language of chemistry is difficult so it is important to get this right. Teaching is a two way street so I can lead the direction of the sessions but I think it is most important to assess your weaknesses and to really work on those. Lots of practice and analysis of how you are answering questions. Plus lots of nifty ways of remembering stuff! I am not going to claim that I will deliver all singing and dancing lessons but if you want to understand chemistry I will get you to do that!
