Personal Description:
A true renaissance man, Alex makes: mini epic films, video installations, games, photographs, sculpture, blogs and books. Using readily available materials and software the work often has a feeling of improvisation, an initial throwaway idea made visible.

Throughout his practice there is a sense of an acceptance of failure or disappointment as important parts of the human condition. He makes light with big issues and is, in turn, haunting and funny. His humorous sculpture typically conveys a sense of the accidental, eternally on the brink of failure or collapse. Recent DIY apocalypses, created from expanding builders' foam, seem to have an unruly, malevolent life of their own and explore the processes of invasion and infection. While his films and writing play with ideas of chance, quotidian struggles, the loss of control and responsibility.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught a range of students of all ages and backgrounds from: National Diploma, Extended Diploma, Art Foundation, Degree to MA level.
I have experience in all fields of art and design but my specialist areas include: Sculpture, Drawing, Video, Art History, Cotextual Studies, Art Theory and installation.
I am expert at preparing students' portfolios for interview at Foundation and Degree level.
I am also able to advise in a number of areas of profesional practice including: Statement writing, CVs, recording work, publicity and basic website construction.
I have also had experience of teaching adults basic IT skills.

Tutoring Approach:

Personal Description:
I'AM AAT QUALIFIED AND ACCA FINALIST. I do lecture on-line via Skype and also could meet you up for one to one basis

Teaching Experience:

I have taught on many aspects of accountancy subjects, these include F6 Taxation, F2 Management accounting, F3 Financial Accounting, F7 Financial Reporting and F8 Audit & Assurance, which are subjects on ACCA syllabus. I have also taught on AAT (to include all units) and ABE syllabus on similar subjects and I posses a profound understanding of my chosen subjects and capable of teaching them effectively.
My excellent understanding of double entry accounting procedures provide me with the basis of dealing with various aspects of reconciliations i.e.; control account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, VAT reconciliation and dealing all aspect of ledger accounts. I also have an excellent understanding of Sage line 50 and 100 and had also used many accounting packages. Recently I worked with East Surrey College on a contract basis teaching Financial Statements, Personal Tax, and Financial Performance (AAT Level 4).

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is to groom my students in a flexible manner towards passing their exams and ensuring that my lectures are carried out in a friendly and conductive environment that involves every student. I believed that teaching is a social institution as much as it is a profession, hence partnering with my students by becoming one of them provides me that yardstick to which a good relationship between us is established.

The emotional and social (pastoral) platform I created enable free communication between us and giving me that opportunity to gain their trust and their cooperation. The ramification of this is their countenance when they work in the morning and their readiness to discuss issues or their concerns with me.

My approach to teaching is methodical, resulting from the principle of hard working and professional discipline; my scheme of work and lesson plans are well prepared ahead of the start the course and handed over to my students at the very first day of every semester. Also the weekly lesson plans are given to my students one week in advance of the lectures. I always seek to start every topic within a syllabus with a tutorial question that provides student with that rudiment or fundamental principles in which that topic is enshrined.

I like the idea of interactive class, as a result I used questions as a means of communicating my lectures with my students and ensuring every student within the class is involved. I moved from one table to the other and where necessary I dealt with student on a one to one basis if I felt a particular student seemed to be lacking behind. Passing any paper within any accountancy professions require a lot of reading and treating many past questions by students.

Note that my rate is 40 flat rate if you are only requesting for one hour tuition . I DO NOT DO HOME VISIT. Please do not contact me for home visit please. Thanks!

Personal Description:
I am a PhD student who recently passed my viva at Imperial College London, and just moved to Oxford.

PhD student and research assistant in Professor Edward Tate group, a chemical biology group carrying many collaborative projects with the pharmaceutical industry, including AstraZeneca, Pfizer and GSK.

My expertise lies at the interface between organic chemistry, life sciences and medicine, in the fields of chemical biology and chemical proteomics.

Teaching Experience:

I have been performed regular demonstration in undergraduate chemistry lab for one year.

I tutored a GCE A-Level student in China for Physics, Maths, English and Chemistry.

I supervised an Imperial College London final year Chemistry student for final year project. And she was awarded with first class.

Tutoring Approach:

I have strong background in maths, physics and chemistry at any level to University (in China, as a chemistry student, we still need to learn advanced maths and physics in university).

I developed my own methods for learning and gaining high marks in exams. The key is to understand, learn, summarise from teachers' teaching, and map all the key points to have my own version. My version serves like an index or a mapping tree, it help me quickly get the key points from any question I get. Once I know the key point, then I got into details by following my map, so solve problems in very systematic way. This methods has been working very well for me, my UK university friends and my previous A-level student.

I believe understanding and learning from teachers at school is important, but most importantly, students (with or without a private tutors' help) need to develop their leaning skills and exam skills.

Personal Description:
I'm a student heading to The Queens College, Oxford in 2017 to study Classics with an emphasis on Philosophy, my main area of interest. Im the oldest of five children and generally a very patient, bookish person who tends to get on with people well. Throughout my schooling I was told that my goals were unachieveable because of dyslexia, and I have worked hard to prove that to be false, so I am dedicated to helping others when ordinary schooling isn't quite enough - be that to push an A to an A* or pass an exam or just improve skills in any given area.
Outside academics, I play the piano and enjoy spending time with my family and my dogs.

Teaching Experience:

During school I took part in several different tutoring programmes; teaching science master classes to underprivileged 4-8 year olds, tutoring for the 11+ and CE exams, tutoring for GCSE level students in Maths, all three sciences, English, and religious studies, and tutoring fellow AS and A Level students during sixth form. These have ranged from people who want extra revision and marked work before exams to people who are struggling and retaking exams multiple times, to people who are just learning English. In total I have around 150-200 hours of tutoring experience.

I've worked with many people with learning difficulties and disabilities, and am very experienced in finding ways to help people learn and revise. Often people with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, and other learning difficulties struggle to learn in conventional ways, and having had to be unconventional myself, I'm committed to helping people learn in ways which work well for them. One of my brothers is Autistic and non verbal, and I work with him using his special interests to make the subject engaging and working with text and images.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is centred around the premise that every person learns in a different way, and every person deserves to fulfill their goals and potential.

When tutoring younger children, I make learning fun through games and grounding the work in their interests; for example, when I was teaching English as a foreign language to 4 year old twins, we played games like hide and seek and football, where they would win if they used the right English words.

Of course, every subject requires a different kind of teaching; English language gcse can be practiced with excerpts from students favourite books or writing about favourite tv shows, whereas psychology A Level is largely about evaluative skills, so critical conversations about theories and studies are key. Each subject cultivates specific skill sets, and I aim to work with students on their own weaknesses and help them perfect their strengths; I will mark work and discuss it with them in depth, create handouts and revision notes with them, and work through papers and questions with them.
