Personal Description:
I live in Cheshire and have two children. I enjoy camping, the outdoors & the countryside in general. We like to travel around the UK, especially Scotland & Southern Ireland. I have enjoyed being successful professionally & in my academic career & I am always looking for new opportunities to make the best use of the skills I've developed over the years. I enjoy working out and train most days. I have an interest in numismatics (coins and paper money).

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching in Further & Higher education for the past 17 years & I am Head of Subject & Senior Lecturer at a College with Beacon status in the North West. My results are 10% above national benchmark & I am an examiner with a leading examination board. Last year, I carried out some regular private tuition & was able to turn E grades into A grades at A2 level. This was very satisfying for me & the student concerned was able to go on & take a degree in Law, something he wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to treat every student as an individual & seek to respond to their individual learning needs. I offer a very reliable, high standard of service & see us as working together to achieve a common objective, that of success in the summative examinations. Being an examiner for sociology is also a real advantage for my tutees too. More recently, I have been working with Nelson Thornes and AQA to provide 50 online Sociology learning resources for publication in support of their new A2 student book. I now also offer online tuition via Skype voice and video call at a discounted hourly rate for block bookings, hence the 24 rate.

Personal Description:
I am a reliable and patient person with a likeable personality who relates well to both children and adults. I am conscientious and will discuss all matters with the parents/adult student at home in an informal chat before commencing any teaching sessions. I have a current CRB and I always have a file with this and my qualifications for you to inspect prior to beginning teaching with you. I have a number of private pupils in Stockton, Billingham, Redcar and Middlesbrough, whose parents are more than happy to provide a reference if required.

In 2006 I was one of ten finalists in a national teaching award - QIA STAR Awards.

I have an office in the Elmwood Centre but I also travel around the Cleveland area on some days of the week. This can be by arrangement.

Teaching Experience:

I have 24 years teaching experience, with the last fifteen years teaching English, literacy and creative writing; also, six of the last fifteen years teaching numeracy/maths and ESOL. I have experience in teaching both children and adults, and teaching English to people who are learning English as a second language.

My experience is both classroom based and one-to-one teaching. In addition to being qualified in English, Creative Writing, Maths and ESOL, I am also qualified in supporting learners with dyslexia.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to make learning fun, as I believe this will develop a love of learning which will last into adulthood. I use multi-sensory resources, as well as a computer, to enable students to grasp the necessary basic rules of literacy and numeracy. For younger children I will often make, or bring a game that will have a serious learning point to it, although the children do not always realise this.

I am patient and allow all learners to develop their understanding and confidence in literacy and numeracy by giving them time for questions, explanation and discussion. I also believe that giving praise to someone for trying to answer, even if the answer is incorrect, is really important - the fact they have tried means they are willing to learn - this is the one key requirement to building knowledge and confidence in any subject.

I very much enjoy teaching science, particularly chemistry and physics. I would like to inspire more young people to go on to study science at university and to use it in their future careers. Apart from teaching I enjoy cycling, singing, dancing and playing the tenor recorder!

Teaching Experience:

I have seventeen years teaching experience in secondary schools as a science and chemistry teacher. I have taught chemistry and physics to A-level standard and biology to GCSE standard. I would regard myself as a chemistry specialist.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to find out the particular learning needs of each pupil and to make sure that their understanding is as complete as possible. It is important to me that the pupil has an enjoyable and fulfilling time during the tutorial. Where he or she shows an interest, I enjoy open discussions that can extend learning into any area of biology, chemistry or physics. Personal Description:
It is a pleasure for me to offer you the best of my competence and experience in the field of teaching languages.
My major strengths are: getting right to transmit my knowledge to the students, organization to elaborate the lesson plans to achieve the best class activities, patient with those pupils that have some difficulties in the learning of languages. I usually apply pedagogical techniques and dynamic activities according to the student's skills, I also, respect and value the effort my students do to learn and to get good grades. I can say that I have always been enthusiastic about teaching, so it encourages me to study modern languages in a Pedagogical University.
I have been living in Birmingham since July 2010, and my Entry Clearance visa entitles me to work immediately as well as my National Insurance Card. In the same way I hold the UK NARIC National Recognition of my degree as British Bachelor Degree Standard and the GCSE (grades A-C) Credit Standard on a subject for subject basis.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked with primary students in some schools, moreover with high school levels, and besides with university students. Likewise I have worked as a teacher with adult people in Language academies.
My relevant work experience is:
Venezuelan School, I and II primary levels. January to November 2009 Venezuela. Cela Spanish School, Spanish . August to December 2008 Venezuela. University of East (UDO), Semester I. March to July 2007 Venezuela. Educative unit Champagnat School, II primary level. September 2004 to July 2006. Venezuela. Piccadilly English Center, English levels intermediate and advanced. October 1999 to August 2002 Venezuela. Centro De Secretariado Ejecutivo, INCE. May 1996 - 1998. Venezuela. Fundametal, April to December 1996. Venezuela

Tutoring Approach:

I determine the tutoring by an assessment of the student's needs and establishing realistic targets for achievement. Work with small groups can be both a valuable way to create a focused and stimulating educational environment.

Personal Description:
I graduated from Worcester College, Oxford, where I got a Double First in Classics, doing a mixture of literature, history and especially focusing on philosophy. I am now studying at City Law School for the Bar Professional Training Course and will become a pupil barrister in September 2016.

I am enthusiastic and hard-working and I strongly believe in putting all my effort into what I do, so as a tutor I would work hard to try and help bring real improvement.

I was captain of one of my college football teams and also love playing cricket (though perhaps more keen than talented in both of the above!) I was Co-Chair of the Oxford University Labour Club and an elected official at the Student Union, and I also enjoy playing the piano and guitar.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored a number of people via UK tutors in several subjects. My most significant recent achievement is improving a student from an F grade at Latin GCSE to a C (the highest grade possible at Foundation Tier) in just three months. I have also been a voluntary leader on summer camp, which included organizing detailed discussion sessions, and I tutored my sister for her successful Cambridge Philosophy application.

Tutoring Approach:

I would try and keep things as relaxed and informal as possible so the sessions are good fun and try to listen as well as talk so that we can focus on what needs to be worked on and tailor the sessions to individual needs. I think students often underperform not through lack of intelligence but lack of engagement and I would try and find a way to help them enjoy the classes and boost their self-esteem. I love all the subjects I tutor and I'd hope to inject that into my classes!

Personal Description:
I am a recently semi-retired teacher. I am married with five grown up children. I enjoy gardening and relish my early morning swim. I enjoy life and am very much a 'glass half full' rather than a 'glass half empty' type of person. I have a degree in Law, Economics and Business as well as a Master degree in Education. I am a qualified NVQ assessor. I am also qualified to teach both adults and secondary school students. I have a lot of experience teaching pupils with dyslexia or other learning difficulties.

I can offer high quality teaching of individual or whole course topics as required

Teaching Experience:

I have 28 years experience as a Head of Department and teacher at a school that regularly exceeded national targets or business and law. My lessons have always been graded as good or better by Ofsted and other observers. I am an examiner in both business and law and write exam papers for business studies. I am familiar with the requirements of all of the major awarding bodies and can give exam tips for success as well as teaching towards the subject.

Tutoring Approach:

Although I am new to this website, I have tutored a number of pupils over the years. My objective is to put all of my tutees at their ease and then design a programme that meets their individual requirements and needs. I am a specialist teacher of dyslexic pupils and will coach them in a way that makes learning comfortable yet still challenging. I like to set homework in order to consolidate learning and provide feedback in such a way as to retain understanding. It is fair to say that I I strive to ensure the success of my tutees.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified artist and in my second year of teacher training. My own work explores the fine arts and has been shown in galleries across Australia. When I am not teaching or coordinating arts education programmes for public spaces I spend time working on my own artworks. I love to teach art, its highly rewarding and meaningful to give students the skills to be creative.

Teaching Experience:

I have 8 years teaching experience with children aged 4-19 years old and 2 years experience teaching adults. I have taught for schools, galleries, courses and privately. I am currently teaching art classes for 5 schools and have several regular private students. I can teach pencil, pen, charcoal, chalk pastel, watercolour, oil and acrylic paint. I have coached many students through their GCSEs, A Levels and university portfolios.

Feedback from customers:

"Thank you so much for helping my daughter get her portfolio ready, she couldn't have done it without your guidance and its been a pleasure having you in our home. Thank you!" - Terry, mum of Tara (16 years)

"I never knew there was so much to learn about art! My 2 children loving having their very own art tutor, its developed their ability and they can now do artwork with confidence" - Maya, mum of Nicola & Jake (10 & 12 years)

"Amber was recommended to me to help my son put a portfolio together in order to apply for graphic design BA courses. The catch was, there were only two weeks to do so. Amber introduced him to new techniques and media with which he was able to create great pieces of work, she advised him on the structure and the visual layout of his portfolio and how to make it look fit for university interviews. She was amazingly accommodating and flexible at all times. With her work, she not only inspired my son but the rest of us as well - She is an amazing artist indeed! most importantly, my son got offered and accepted a place in Falmouth Universtity (his first choice). He continues to explore the techniques Amber taught him and has got confidence to venture further afield with his art. I hope to have some tutoring from Amber for myself and my daughter in the future too. A truly inspirational, calm and relaxing art adventure. Thank you Amber! We were very lucky to find you." - Renata, mum of Lucas (18 years)

Tutoring Approach:

As a teacher in training I have a very calm approach to teaching because the journey and the end result are as important as each other. I have creative problem solving skills and I am able to encourage and support students to push past their personal creative barriers. I always bring a smile and a sense of humour to classes because its important for students to feel comfortable around me.

To every private class I teach I bring an easel or board and a range of materials to save you time and money. I spend a lot of time planning and preparing so that the student gets the best from the time spent with me.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and approachable person who genuinely enjoys the buzz of helping people achieve their goals. I love reading, writing, film and the English language!

Teaching Experience:

I've been teaching for 15 years; over half of that as a head of English. I'm nuts about assessment and as a result I'm an examiner for Ks2 SATs, GCSE and A Level. I'm also a moderator for A level so if you need help with coursework then look no further!

Sometimes students want extra help during revision time. I can arrange intensive sessions just before that big exam to give you the confidence you need.

I've also tutored for some years and have my own transport or I am available for Skype training if required.

Tutoring Approach:

When something is made relevant to you, then you're far more likely to remember it. Therefore I always get to know my students and consider how to tailor the learning to them.

My experience with examining makes me a great tutor-I know exactly what the exam board wants...I work for them!
