Personal Description:
I am 32 years old and have been teaching for the last 11 years. I live in the centre of Winchester and work in a local school. I live with my husband, 2 year old son and 2 cats.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in London for the past 10 years, whilst there I worked in Year 1, 3 and 6. I now work in a school in Winchester and am in Year 6. I lead English across the school and help to prepare the Year 6 pupils for the new and challenging in SATs for reading, grammar and maths. Working in London i had a lot of experience of working with EAL children and SEN children.

Tutoring Approach:

When tutoring I try to make it practical and fun. I look at what the pupil struggles with and why they are struggling with it and then I try to overcome their issues. I try to make the learning as personal as possible. For preparation for SATs, I make sure they have access to a lot of past papers so that there are no questions that will throw them.

Personal Description:
I have lived in the Virginia Water area for over 20 years and have 2 sons who are now at university. My undergraduate degree was in maths at Aston University and I studied for a PhD at Reading University. Since leaving university I formed and run a computer company for 27 years and have since formed and run 2 successful businesses as Managing Director. I now run my current business on a part-time basis.

Teaching Experience:

I lectured mathematics at Reading University to undergraduates and have tutored many A-level students.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to work with the knowledge students have on a subject and then build from there. With maths it is at times necessary to re-visit the fundamentals - these can be forgotten as time passes. I have a wealth of information sheets and tips covering the various topics on the syllabus and make use of past papers to prepare students for their exams. I like to discover a students strengths and weaknesses early on and believe my experience helps me with that.

I consider myself calm, patient and supportive. Lessons are structured to and tailored to meet the student's needs and include a variety of hands on material and varied learning styles.

Personal Description:
I recently returned to the UK after a number of years living and teaching in China, and now I wish to use the experience i have gained over the years to help students who need to learn English in the UK.
When i am not working i enjoy travelling and playing sport. In addition to living in China, i have also lived in New Zealand and Australia and travelled extensively in Europe.

Teaching Experience:

I have been an ESL teacher for 8 years. My experience has been gained predominantly in China, though i have taught at a college in the UK. I have taught a variety of nationalities and also all ages and levels. I possess both the CELTA and DELTA teaching practice qualifications. I was also an IELTS speaking and writing test examiner for two years and have passed a Cambridge certified online course in the teaching of IELTS.

Tutoring Approach:

Having lived and worked in China for many years, i am aware of the difficulty of learning a foreign language. However,i believe that with the right attitude, approach and guidance it is possible to achieve your study goals in any language.
I believe in establishing realistic and quantifiable goals when beginning tutoring for progress to be measured against. I also believe that work done in a student's own time is as important as work done in a formal classroom setting. Regular review of what has been studied is also vital.

Personal Description:
CIAO A TUTTI!

My name is Stefano, a Ph.D. student in Italian Studies at the University of Reading, where I have been teaching since 2014.

There is no age limit for learning ITALIAN!

Grazie e a presto,
Stefano

Teaching Experience:

I have been a part-time teacher at the University of Reading since 2014.

I have a good level of experience in teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

In Italy, I have taught on XIX and XX century Italian literature at the Universitą di Chieti and on Dante and Italian Philology at Salerno. Since moving to Reading, I have taught on literature and theatre as well as contemporary and modern European history. At Reading, I am also the leader of study sessions on feminism and fascism.

Here I am also a Study Skills Adviser.

You may also visit my academic profile (conferences, publications, translation, theatre at Reading) on academia.edu.

Tutoring Approach:

Interactivity and students' involvement are at the core of my teaching. My focus is on the creation of original learning activities.

I have always believed in teaching Italian language and culture in a more dynamic and informal way.

In Italy, I taught elocution classes and theatre for students of all ages. At Reading, I founded the 'Italian Theatrical Group' within the Department of Modern Languages to improve students' linguistic fluency and knowledge. I find extremely useful recording scripts and rehearsals to give students feedback as well as to encourage their creativity and self-correction.

My lessons are specifically tailored on students' needs, individual or groups, children or adults.

Thanks to my theatrical experience, my lessons for CHILDREN will include the use of 'puppets' and other activities to be decided time by time, according to the topic and tutees' needs.

For ADULTS: As well as standard lessons, I also offer to translate/proof-read Cv, COVER LETTERS, AND ANY OTHER DOCUMENT, CERTIFICATE OR CREATIVE WORK.

FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT PRICE AND OFFERS, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Personal Description:
Hi! I'm a soon-to-be graduate of a degree in Spanish language and culture, and have experience of living in Spain. My personal interests include art, travel and food, and I have a particular passion for cooking. I'm a friendly person and love to work with people one-on-one.

Teaching Experience:

Private one-on-one language tutor to English speaking students.

Tutoring Approach:

I can teach the language at various levels, with cultural context and an understanding of different registers of Spanish and the ways in which communication differs in Spain compared to the UK. Because of my cultural knowledge and experience, I offer an all-round service and can teach both Spanish for qualifications and exams and for those that wish to live in or travel to Spain and speak like a local. Having learnt Spanish both through formal education and immersive experience I know the pitfalls and common difficulties and can help students avoid them. I also offer classes in English as a foreign language, growing up in a very multicultural area and attending a school with many students from overseas I learned to communicate easily with people that do not speak fluent English, and am passionate about helping people fit into British society by improving their language skills. As with Spanish, lessons can be academically-based or more casual, with a focus on conversation practice if needed.
