Personal Description:
I am a graduate of chemistry with business management from Queen Mary: University of London. I also hold the AAT professional accountancy qualification and CIMA Management Accountant. I have a number of interests and I am a keen learner, which I believe makes me a better teacher. I work for Star Tutors an Education Center that teaches Maths, English and Science at 8ph with small groups of four students. I have previously worked at Chace Community School as a Teaching Assistant and at Nightingale Academy as a Teacher of Business and ICT after being promoted from a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked for three schools in a number of different roles. I am currently working as a teacher of science and business at A-level. I have tutored students since I left university at the end of 2005, I have mainly tutored maths but also science, business and I have helped students with English and ICT . I have worked with special needs students whilst I was a teaching assistant. I have achieved HLTA status and I have worked in a number of other roles in education.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring comes from knowing my students very well. I will provide an initial assessment and then devise a bespoke plan to raise the students grades. I have a very patient approach to tutoring and will take time to ensure that my students have fully understood a topic before moving on.

I am a qualified English teacher. I am currently working as a tutor within schools, supply teacher and privately teaching English. I have been teaching for over ten years, eight years as a full time teacher and two years as a Tutor/Supply Teacher. I hold a QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), a PGCE English and a 2:1 BA (Honours) degree in English. I hold current CRB/police check and I am eligible to work in the UK.

I have demonstrated a flexible approach to cater for individual learning needs and to differentiate the work accordingly, ensuring the personalisation of teaching and learning. I have created resources and effective strategies to support pupils. I have extensive experiences marking GCSE coursework, assessments, GCSE speaking and listening tests, assessments including Controlled Assessment tests. I have organised and participated in workshops to support planning lessons, class activities etc.

In regards to voluntary work, I have spent a lot of time as a voluntary youth support worker at the Saint Patrick's Youth Club Letterkenny between 1984 and 1990. I have organised table tennis competitions and other sporting activities at the club. I created a special youth club magazine and was one of the co-ordinators of an exchange trip with a German youth club in 1986. As a UNICEF volunteer, I have also organised a special charity fundraising event for UNICEF. Over the years I have played a significant role in an intervention strategy of borderline pupils at key stage 3 and 4. I have extensive experience supporting pupils on a One to One basis and in small groups. I have taught mixed ability pupils in years 7, 8 and 9. I have provided appropriate advice to learners and helped many pupils reach their target level grades.

I have been teaching English for over ten years, eight years as a full time English teacher. I have taught very successfully in two schools during this period and have received positive feedback from parents, colleagues and from Ofsted (who rated me as a good teacher). I try to be creative, but once an idea is understood, I think the key emphasis for the pupil is to practice to re-enforce confidence. I ensure that work is clearly structured and organised to allow the child not feel overwhelmed, but to understand it clearly. I work well with challenging children, with learning disabilities and with those pupils with behavioural problems. I am understanding and patient tutor who encourages all pupils to make a bigger effort.

I love this profession because you never stop learning and it is wonderful to be in this fortunate position to share my passion for this wonderful subject. I believe a tutor has to be flexible to the childs need.

I delivered ECDL, DiDA and many other courses/units over the years and always to a high standard. Students have included the unemployed, corporate clients, mums returning to the workplace, 16-18s and all manner of the employed.

I have: been a programme area leader for adult learning and a manager of an IT centre, run in-house training for staff, been a tutor to the NUT and the NHS and have built/maintained PCs on the side.

Tutoring Approach:

The personal progression of the student is as important to me as their knowledge and skill in the topic. It is very much the 'teach a person to fish' mentality, and I relish watching a person grow in confidence as they appreciate the underpinning skills that the logic of computer use is built upon.

Tutoring Approach:

The most important thing is to ensure the tutee is comfortable with the approach. I do not have one particular approach but adapt my tutoring sessions in a way to suit the student.

Whereas I understand the importance of exams and will often stress this, I find it more useful to to engage with the tutee in a way which would result in them loving the subject. This will encourage and motivate them to work further.

I am a motivated and dedicated person, with interests in SEN field but also teaching, HR and Psychology. I am currently writing an article about children with autism and hope to release it next year. I am a fully qualified teacher with BA and MA degree in Psychology, mainly the sector of SEN covering challenging behavior, emotional disorders and psychiatric illnesses.

I am very honest, reliable, sociable, punctual and dedicated person looking for the right opportunity to arise and give it my utmost to deliver and be a great member of a team, to share my knowledge and background with others, to learn from others and ultimately to help, support, guide and advice young children.

I am great with children, I have plenty of experience of different settings; in the past I have been working as a volunteer for many hospitals of children such as neurological and psychiatric infant clinics and what I done was to support and carry out certain therapeutic programs with SEN children in order to get them better and improve their lifestyle.

I have also worked a lot in nurseries, small schools and educational settings as part of my university course' teaching assistant and children adviser were my main roles. I enjoy supporting children and helping them improving their life, their way of thinking and answering their questions. I most enjoy working with those students who exhibit challenging behavior and to find ways of helping them coping with their difficult times, help them integrate and manage SENCO elements.

I am applying for this role because I feel there is so much within myself to be given away and teach young minds, I am very passionate of becoming a role model for our students and help them achieve better improved academic potential. I believe that I have good standard of knowledge and education, skills and patience, confidence and understanding to be able to teach young people and help them with their learning. I want to make an impact on their learning and future careers.

I am a very empathetic and understanding individual, with a positive outlook toward education, I value getting a solid level of knowledge and making the most of educational system, I am patient, firm and confident, punctual and precise always organized and in time with my deadlines, with a good level of patience and efficiency under pressure or work related stress. I have a high level of academic passion for learning, I write small pieces of research papers which regard mainly pupils with SEN and how we can improve their learning, I believe I have an academic approach and my mind is learning orientated at all times.

I have achieved a lot of educational experience, the opportunity to meet and impact students learning, I have gained a better understanding of the British curriculum and educational system, I have created a larger and better social environment as well as I have shared and gained knowledge through my work colleagues and students. I have developed my communication levels, social interaction and positive outlooks.
At the moment I support year 10 students in their lessons, I organize one to one tutoring sessions, I advice them on their learning and promote discipline, excellent vocabulary and social interaction with their peers.

I would love that in future to work within a school as a teacher of either primary or subject teacher in a secondary school, my main goal is to work and teach young minds, inspire them and help them achieve a better improved career.

Teaching Experience:

I have been home teaching for a few years now, started sept 2010 up to present, alongside day employment and working in schools I have always carried on home teaching and mentoring and tutoring in both psychology and sociology.

I hold a full-scholarship academic PhD in English Drama and an MFA with Distinction in Shakespeare from the University of Exeter, as well as a first Class BA in Theatre from the University of British Columbia. I have published scholarly articles. Additionally, I have received relevant certifications in Teaching English as a Second Language and in radio presenting (and a slightly less relevant one in stage combat!).

I am a professional actor with experience in all media including the West End, and am a founding member of Hotspur Theatre Company. Additionally, I have professional experience as a playwright, theatre director, and teacher.

Teaching Experience:

From nursery school students to 16-18-year-olds, and undergraduates at the Universities of Exeter, Bath Spa, and Cumbria to postgraduates at the LAMDA drama school, I have taught students at almost every level. I have also coached adult professionals.

Tutoring Approach:

Personal Description:
Hi, my name is Pri and I'm a qualified teacher with a degree in Mathematics. I've been rated 'outstanding' in my last teaching reports and was awarded a teacher training scholarship by the IMA. I also write GCSE Maths mark schemes for Create-A-Test (Technology in Education Ltd).

Teaching Experience:

My last placement was at a school in Lewisham where my mentor twice rated me an 'outstanding' teacher (i.e. OfSTED level 1). I taught Key Stages 3 and 4 as well as A-level. Prior to this I taught in Hertfordshire where I also led STEM workshops for Mathematics.

I previously worked as a full-time tutor in Cardiff, where I a large number of pupils between A-level and primary school age.

Tutoring Approach:

For long term tuition, I focus more on conceptual understanding rather than just procedural. In other words, pupils should be able to explain how to solve problems and why they use certain methods, rather than just doing it. This higher-level understanding has shown to be beneficial as pupils are able to apply their knowledge to solve a wider range of problems than they otherwise would.

Initially, we will seek to identify target topics where the tutee would most benefit from additional help. I will then create a tutoring plan which outlines the order in which we will cover key curriculum areas. I set regular homework to consolidate knowledge.
