Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Christopher, I've taught Science and Maths for over 10 years. At present I am teaching Chemistry at a prestigious North London co-educational school having previously taught at City of London School for Girls. I began tutoring in 2005, after graduating from Oxford University (Worcester College 2001 - 2005), with a Masters in Chemistry. Additionally, I have worked as a Science and Maths teacher on the Government's Life Long Learning Scheme. Professionally I have served as a consultant within the environmental science/engineering sector for a large multinational corporation.

Teaching Experience:

I am a friendly, approachable Oxford educated tutor with over 10 years and 5000 hours tutoring experience, comprising a mix of one-to-one tuition, teaching within small groups as well as larger classroom environments. I have extensive knowledge of all the major examination boards with particular expertise in the OCR, Edexcel, WJEC and AQA syllabuses.

I am currently teaching Chemistry at a top independent North London School, having previously taught both Chemistry and Maths at City of London School for Girls. Earlier experience included working as a Mathematics and Science teacher on the government-funded 'Life Long Learning' Scheme, where certain pupils were affected with learning disabilities such as ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia.

Additionally, I have passed the GAMSAT medical entrance exam required for certain medical schools within the UK, so can assist with the preparation required for this difficult test. I also provide numeracy and literacy tuition for those sitting professional or higher education exams and Armed Forces tests.

Undergraduate tuition is offered to those students studying for degrees that incorporate chemistry modules e.g. Business and Chemistry, foundation courses etc.

I cover Central London zones 1 - 2.

Rates: GCSE and A level: 40 per hour.

GAMSAT: 40 per hour.

I have an extensive list of references from previously satisfied clients for your perusal.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to get the very best out of students using a variety of teaching methods with a strong emphasis on exam technique. I have helped pupils of all ages and abilities both on a one-to-one basis as well as within small groups/large classroom environments.

Every person is different, and every person has his/her own grasping ability whether at home or in school. With this in mind I am very flexible and adaptable in my approach to teaching, and endeavour to create a learning environment where the pupil can thrive.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly, approachable, fifth year medical student currently studying at Imperial College London. I am very passionate about education and I find great satisfaction in helping people achieve.

I have GCSEs in Maths, German, French, Geography, Graphics, English Literature, English Language, Religious Studies, IT, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, A2 levels in Maths, Chemistry and Biology and an AS level in Geography. Before commencing my medical studies I read Biochemistry for 4 years at Warwick University and achieved a 2:1.

Due to my experience in applying to medical school I am happy to help with personal statements, UKCAT and interview technique. Having sat in on the interview panels for 2 years at Imperial I can give first hand advice on exactly what medical schools are looking for at interview, and what they want to read on a personal statement.

Teaching Experience:

At Warwick University I was employed as a Biostatistics tutors for the first years for 1 academic year. I also have an abundance of experience working with younger children through various volunteering schemes and therefore I am experienced in helping children of all ages reach their full potential in many aspects of their lives, not just academically.
I have taken 3 students through their GCSEs over the last couple of years and have relished watching their grades and confidence improve

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in tailoring tutoring to each individual's learning style to get the best out of our time together. I do this whilst also trying to create an enjoyable working environment to encourage maximum learning potential. This is especially important with younger students; I want them to enjoy our sessions so that they look forward to them and get the most out of them.
I am also happy to set work to be done outside of the sessions, which can then be worked on together in future meetings.

Personal Description:
Being academically focused myself, I am confident in being able to motivate and teach through a variety of methods that hopefully excite my tu-tee. Through secondary, I thrived generally in most, if not all subjects. Maths, however, will remain my favourite. I am enthusiastic about teaching and I hope to prove my ability to engage students and guide them on their educational paths.
I am particularly flexible in that I am open to on-line tutoring through Skype if need be.

Currently I am studying Maths, Physics, Latin and Art at ALEVEL.

Teaching Experience:

I've voluntarily taught temporarily at Southfields Primary school, where I taught English.
I volunteer at Sidney Stringer Academy at the Maths GCSE re-take classes for students who are struggling to pass their Maths GCSE at a grade C or above.

Tutoring Approach:

Having recently undergone the exams myself, I feel I'm in the most suitable position to advise current students on how to cope with the content of the constantly changing exam syllabus and exam format. My teaching methods will vary depending on how I assess the student is coping with the subject. If the student learns visually, for example, I can direct them to a range of videos, or even create some myself to suit their learning.
good organisation is key to organising the content both on paper and in your head. As an extremely organised person, I can properly advise students on how to manage their workload to maximise the efficiency of their working.
Different people take different amounts of time to grasp certain concepts and I am open to facilitating their needs.

Personal Description:
I am a high achieving MSc Civil and Structural Engineering graduate with excellent work and study pedigree. I graduated with Distinction from Coventry University, United Kingdom. I am currently carrying out a PhD research in Engineering in Coventry University. My experiences so far has enabled me to build a broad range of leadership and interpersonal skills. Therefore, I am able to manage challenging behavior and communicate effectively with people from diverse background.

Teaching Experience:

I have a strong passion for teaching mathematics, logical and quantitative reasoning concepts. My ability to grasps the basic ideas in maths have allowed me to excel in technical concepts in Engineering. I have an experience of teaching undergraduates through the support assistant role in the university. I have had a one-on-one experience teaching and supporting an undergraduate student with great success in his studies and research work. I am really desirous of further developing my skills as a tutor in mathematics. This will enable me to further build a strong career as a teacher and lecturer. I served as a maths and computer education teacher in a secondary school during my compulsory national youth service just after my graduation from the university. I have had the experience of learning and applying real life mathematics concepts of trigonometry and algebra as an engineer working in the construction industry. A typical example of this was in the development of survey data for the design of roads and in the preparation of bill of quantities.

Tutoring Approach:

As a maths tutor, I have the aim of creating in students the ability to understand the basic ideas in mathematics. I also do aspire to instill in students the confidence that aids excellence in problem - solving especially in examinations as well as in answering questions to unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that the capacity to grasps and retain the needed skills is to relate mathematics with real life experiences. This then easily creates the atmosphere for the development of real passion for learning and appreciating the subject. Hence, I do not strive to make the student quote the ideas and the notions involved in the subject, instead I encourage the student draw analogies. Even though my approach does vary depending on the needs and learning style of the student involved, I do aim to foster independence in the student by encouraging deep critical thinking. After teaching a particular topic in mathematics, my method of assessment is to test the student's understanding through additional problems and humorous games that relate to the topic. Also, in order to assess the level of my teaching strategy, I do request feedback from the student on a regular basis.

I am a graduate with a Bachelors (Hons) in Business Management, a Masters in Education, Economics & Politics and AAT qualified (accounting) with CIMA certificate.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for a year now and really enjoy building a rapport with my students in order to bring out the potential in them by encouraging their confidence and interest in the subject.

Tutoring Approach:

Firstly I will go through the syllabus with the student and ascertain which areas need most focus and in which order.
Upon finishing each topic, I give my students a recap test at the start of each session to refresh their memory on what we have already covered.
For each topic, I will give an example and go through it with the student and then ask them to complete a few questions until they are confident enough to move on.
When nearing exams, I will take the student through past papers.
