Personal Description:
I might be expensive but I am worth it as your child will see a marked improvement in their results and confidence levels. To assess whether I am the right tutor for you I offer the first lesson for free.

I also offer short intensive Maths courses for entrance to American Universities on some weekends. Each course is 2 days long and is specifically tailored for UK students. It is specifically designed to bridge the gap in knowledge, format and techniques between the GCSE Maths exam and the SAT exam. If you use UK Tutors to contact me about the courses I will deduct their fee from the course price.

I was awarded a First Class Honours degree from University College London in 1997 and went on to study a PhD in Quantum Mechanics. On successful completion of my PhD in 2001 I started work at Thales Research and Technology (TRT) where I led projects on Adaptive Learning Systems and Information Management. I initiated the first programme to span the three TRT laboratories in France, Netherlands and UK in the area of Cognitive Systems research. I then went on to set up and lead a large collaborative team between TRT and University of Surrey to study remote collaboration technologies. I joined General Dynamics United Kingdom Limited in 2005, primarily to ensure exploitation of DIF DTC technologies into the UK Ministry of Defence Equipment Programme. I received my Chartered Physicist status in 2004 and am now a director of an innovation company.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience ranges from teaching GCSE students all the way up to teaching PhD students to improve their thesis writing skills. One of my students improved from a D to an A at GCSE level after just six months of tuition with me, and commonly students improve by at least one grade. Apart from the usual syllabuses I am experienced at teaching students the Maths section of the SATs and ACTs in order to get scholarships to American Universities.

Tutoring Approach:

My tuition method involves making Maths and Physics fun so that children and young adults will remember their lessons and overcome the "I can't do science" syndrome. So that you can assess whether or not I am the right tutor for your child I offer the first lesson for free.

Personal Description:
I am a twenty-seven year-old graduate, currently studying for a PhD in History at Queen Mary University of London.

I am young, enthusiastic, and have excellent communication skills. I have lived in London for two years, and in my spare time I enjoy football, playing the guitar and reading about history.

Teaching Experience:

Throughout my academic career I have engaged in mentoring and tutoring schemes. During my A levels I tutored a number of pupils through their History GCSEs, and at university I was a volunteer mentor for first year students, helping them to structure their studies and get through exams during a particularly challenging time.

As part of my PhD programme, I teach three seminars with first-year undergraduates on a weekly basis on a course about the Anglo-American "special relationship" in the twentieth century.

I have worked as a private tutor for six years. I have lots of experience in tutoring students at GCSE and A Level, and have worked with students with a range of capabilities.

My long-term goal is a career as a lecturer or teacher. I have enjoyed the process immensely whenever I have engaged with students, and want to broaden my experience as much as possible.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel that my young age, and the fact I took my A levels and GCSEs relatively recently, gives me a strong advantage in tutoring. All the difficulties and emotions students encounter when taking these exams are fresh in my memory, and I am confident that with encouragement, patience and a friendly understanding, I can make a huge difference to students' prospects. My strong academic record is testament to my ability to approach exams efficiently and with enthusiasm, and my experience in tutoring has developed my skills in approaching a range of student issues, from last-minute revision to long-term guidance.

Personal Description:
I graduated from UCL with a First in Classics in 2008, and have since worked for Marks and Spencer as a Commercial Manager. I have maintained my interest in the ancient world and languages and have continued to study at Birkbeck. I am now returning to University to complete a PGCE in Classics (2013/2014).

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring privately since 2012, and have had a range of pupils aged from 11 through to A Level. Although I am just starting my teacher training, I have been observing in a variety of schools for the last six months. I have a detailed understanding of the curriculum for each school year and the GCSE, AS and A Level set texts and the language level required.

Tutoring Approach:

I have an enthusiasm for Classics which I have been told is infectious, and I am a firm believer that learning should be enjoyable. I have studied Latin since the age of 11, and Greek since 16, and have a very thorough knowledge of grammar and syntax in both languages. I am particularly skilled at Unseen Translation and Prose Composition.

I tailor my tuition to my pupil by informally assessing their language ability during our first session. I offer language tuition at any level and have experience of preparing students for University Entrance Exams. I am also well practiced in tutoring Greek to A Level students intending to study Classics at degree level.

Personal Description:
My name is Sultan and I am Ph.D Research Fellow in Electronics Engineering at Queen Mary University of London. I am an expert and professional tutor of A level Mathematics, Statistics and Mechanics. I live in east London and can provide my services throughout London.

Teaching Experience:

Recent Grades: 6A's and 5B's

I am currently teaching in a Tuition Academy. I can teach A level Core mathematics (C1-4), Statistics (S1-2), Mechanics (M1-2), A-Level Physics (AS-A2) and GCSE level mathematics (Foundation-Higher) GCSE Statistics and Science (Physics-Chemistry & Biology).

I also have enormous experience of one-to-one home tuition in A-Level Physics and Mathematics.

At University Level I have a good grip on Softwares such as CST MICROWAVE STUDIO, MATLAB and MULTISIM and Many other packages. I am currently working on Antenna design in CST MICROWAVE STUDIO. I am currently demonstrating Control Systems Laboratory to the Engineering Undergraduate Students at Queen Mary University of London.

Tutoring Approach:

I always try to make my students understand the concepts rather than just memorizing in order to pass the exams. This way my students can attempt any problem. I have a very good record regarding students results with good grades in Physics and Mathematics. I can teach at home and I can also provide online tuition throughout London.

Personal Description:
My name is Andrew and I currently live in Fleet, Hampshire. I studied Fine Art up until degree level which I accomplished a 1st class BA Hons Degree in Fine Art. I paint mostly portraiture in a hyper-realistic fashion however I have also experimented with many different and expressive styles of art work, as well as sole abstract work.

Teaching Experience:

I currently work for the Meath Epilepsy trust in Godalming where I teach as an observational and technical instructor for the mental health adult clients who live there. There I work closely with the students building up their personal portfolio in their art work consisting of painting, drawing, charcoal and pastel mark making equipment.

I also teach privately and run art workshops in my spare time in which I teach mature students art techniques in drawing and painting. My main qualities in teaching come from portraiture and painting with acrylic and oil paint.

Recently I have completed the PTLLS teaching training course and wish to continue my studies in teaching within the near future.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that teaching is about personal connection with your students and interacting with them on their level rather than simply 'getting the job done'. I can teach someone how to do something and for them to copy my influence is something however to teach someone to do it well themselves without my aid takes time to practice over and over certain techniques and my advice. I think a student should be taught from the ground upwards and by neglecting bad influences from the past the student can become highly skilled and more importantly 'satisfied' with their work and practice.
I teach my students by constantly reminding them of basic principles of drawing/painting techniques and methods for which the student automatically revises their own work and own mistakes alone.

Personal Description:
I'm a patient and experienced teacher and enjoy working one to one with pupils. I believe the key is to raise confidence and then learning becomes easier, so I always try to make sessions interesting and varied building on the pupils strengths so they can start to feel able to tackle areas they are less sure of in a supportive environment.

Teaching Experience:

I've been teaching for 15 years and have worked with all ages. I have taught all subjects and do a lot of Computing which gives me the ability to come up with new and innovative ways to help pupils with their numeracy and literacy. I've been tutoring pupils for English, Maths and EFL for 5 years and have had considerable success in raising pupils confidence and levels.

Tutoring Approach:

I like tutoring as it allows me to tailor the activities precisely to the needs of my pupil. I use lots of games and computer based activities and there is always a lot of variety in the activities in each session - so there's no chance of getting bored! If one approach doesn't work, then we'll try something else - that's the advantage of tutoring.

Personal Description:
I am 24 years old, based in South Oxfordshire and currently working for the Civil Nuclear Police full time Monday to Friday. I am looking to tutor in my spare time, not only to earn some extra money for my husband and I, but also as I have a passion for teaching and it is a career I always considered myself following. I have a degree in English Literature and Creative writing from Kingston University London, graduating in 2013 with a 2:1 BAHons. I have always had a passion for English, particularly poetry, writing regularly in my free time. I have wanted to become a teacher from a very young age however, due to financial needs, was unable to undertake a PGCE course immediately after finishing my undergraduate degree.
As I work for the Police I have been fully background checked and passed the DBS checks which were conducted between January and April 2016.

Teaching Experience:

I have completed two weeks work experience in a primary school in North Wales where I helped with the reception and year one classes. I was tasked with helping the children with all their work, from spelling and maths, to reading and writing. I would be willing, as a tutor, to help primary school age children with all subjects; from 11+ I would be more suited to English Literature or English Language however I am willing to discuss the child's needs and am happy to help with pre-GCSE maths, science or history also. I regularly check Undergraduate level essays for grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors for my two sisters in law, one of whom is studying War Studies and the other Primary Teaching. When in my late teens I would read with a young boy every week to help him improve.

Tutoring Approach:

Though I have never been employed as a tutor previously, I do have experience working with children and young adults, as well as a keen eye for detail. I am extremely patient and willing to persevere to find the learning method which works best for the child or young adult; I have experience in this with my youngest sister in law, who is just 16, whom I have been helping with her GCSE chemistry; chemistry is certainly not my subject, however I took time to read through her text books and her work, to ensure I knew exactly what she needed to do, before helping her to find a way to understand herself. I appreciate that not all subjects come easily to every individual and that, though I may have a passionate love of English, not everyone will share that and so, when tutoring anyone I should not be telling them that English is great - that is just my opinion; instead, I should be helping them to access it, to understand it better, and making it a little easier for them in the process. If, on top of that, they come to love the subject also, that is great; if not, that is fine too.
I would always propose that I meet once with the parents, and child or young adult, free of charge, to discuss the exact requirements: That way I can come to the first tutoring session knowing what needs improving, where my help is most needed and, also, how I think the tutee needs to taught - do they find the subject boring? In which case I need to show them ways in which it can become more interesting, even fun. Do they find the subject really difficult? In which case we need to find ways to make it more accessible and less daunting. I also can leave the fist session knowing exactly how the parents or guardians want me to tutor their child - do you want me to set my own tasks and homework for the tutee to help improve the weaker aspects of their work? Do you want me to help them with work they are being set in school, perhaps a specific text? All of this will help ensure that both the tutee and I get the most out of the time we spend together.

Personal Description:
I am a very passionate chemistry educator, with a proven track record for supporting students to outstanding results at both A Level and GCSE. I hold a PhD in chemistry, and use my deep understanding of my subject to engage and inspire my students. I have a PGCE/QTS and am currently Head of Chemistry at a well respected Liverpool School.
I will offer a discount for students who wish to travel to me for tuition.

Teaching Experience:

I specialise in A Level chemistry, and currently lead AQA A Level chemistry for a large cohort of sixth form students. I have previously taught and tutored OCR A Level chemistry. My cohort of students in the last academic year achieved outstanding results, and an impressively large percentage chose to study chemistry at university.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the approach towards tutoring varies depending on the pupil, and try my best to adapt my teaching method accordingly. I have experience and proven success in pushing students towards A/A* grades, as well as coaching students on C/D/E borderlines.

Personal Description:
Science exam specialist. I can guarantee rapid improvements in both subject mastery and exam technique.
This ability translates into improved scoring in other subjects.

Teaching Experience:

Over twenty years teaching experience including specialist Science exam coaching.
I am an official AQA Physics and Biology GCSE examiner with great knowledge of the examination system.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe focussing on fundamental concepts and skills helps students to grow in confidence and realise they are capable of achieving much more than they initially believed.
Practicing past papers is a very effective way to both learn the target content and to learn how to read questions carefully and answer them effectively.
