Personal Description:
I am Xinran Zhang, a UCL student who is studying her Mathematics with Economics degree. I am a reliable and patient person and always enjoy doing as well as teaching Maths. I obtained pretty high score in both my A-level and GCSE results. Thus, I believe I am capable of helping students to make improvement and also feel more confident about studying Maths. Moreover, my mother tongue is Mandarin, therefore, teaching Chinese is really my strong point. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Teaching Experience:

I had a volunteering tutor job in my A-level school, I taught the students from year 9&10 for about a month, and I think they quite enjoyed that. We communicated with each other in a happy atmosphere very smoothly and I made the students felt more interested in Mathematics.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach is very simple but useful. Classifying the questions from past paper, finding the routine for each type of problems and no need to do loads of practise. Moreover, I will do my best to help students to find the most appropriate method of studying.

Personal Description:
I am 42 and have worked full-time as a piano teacher and performer for 20 years . My background is in classical music - I have played for many choirs & musical groups. But my other love is jazz and show songs, and have played in hotels and restaurants. People find me very easy-going, funny and enthusiastic. Music is my great passion and I try to help everyone I meet and teach to find that passion in themselves.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching Piano on a one-to-one basis for 20 years. I have taught children as young as 3 to adults over 70. I particularly enjoy teaching children and beginners.

Tutoring Approach:

My style is probably best described as spontaneous and adaptable. I don't believe in fixed 'methods'. Everyone learns differently and also wants to play different music and achieve different musical goals. I always start by spending some time listening to my students musical desires. then I advise on how to get there in as fun and fulfilling a way as possible. I am happy to help students pass exams, but realise exams are not the best way for everyone. With children I always try to get their parents involved playing with them. And particularly emphasise the fun aspect of it. It can work like magic - I have taught 100s of children who probably wouldn't have responded to the old 'stick' based teaching methods, but who HAVE responded so well to the 'carrot' method they have quickly found the inner enthusiasm to spend hours playing every week.

Personal Description:
Hello

My name is Claire; I am an actress, acting coach and drama workshops leader.

I trained professionally for three years at the Oxford School of Drama. My training was a diverse exploration of acting techniques which included Hagen, Stanislavsky, Laban and performing Shakespeare. I have studied Meisner at the Jeremiah Comey School of Film Acting, Los Angeles.

I have been acting professionally for over five years, and have worked in film (Lions Gate), theatre (Riverside Studios, Soho Theatre) and television (BBC). I have played a variety of roles across several genres. For theatre I have played leads for the Irish Repertory Company at the Riverside Studios. I was nominated for a 'Stage' award for my performance in 'Bitches & Money' (Edinburgh). My film credits include playing the lead role in 'Door Out of The Dark'(Cannes) and the female lead in 'Lingo' (Filmaka Jury level competition). I will be playing the female lead in 'Naked Before The World', a Neil Corbould film.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience in teaching one to one acting tuition (from ages 17-50 years-old). I have directed audition speeches for drama school applications and also work-shopped monologues with mature students simply for fun and personal development.

I devise and teach drama classes for a children's drama group, (ages 7-13 years-old); and for the same group have written a directed a Christmas play.

I also offer advice on choosing material which is especially useful to drama school applicants / beginner actors who may not know where to find suitable material; which best showcases their personality.

I offer competitive rates, with a concession for block bookings.

Tutoring Approach:

My three year training at the Oxford School of Drama left me with a wide variety of approaches and tools including the following techniques; Alexander, Animal Studies, Hagan, Laban, Meisner, Movement (many dance forms) and Stanislavsky.

My approach to naturalistic pieces is very Uta Hagan, Stanislavsky & Meisner based. My approach to Shakespeare is very Peter Hall like.

I am personally lit up by such a variety of playwrights Shakespeare, Chekhov, Ibsen, Tennessee Williams and Arthur Miller to name a few; plus new writers such as Joe Penhall.

I plan for each individual student and will happily suggest appropriate material for each actors casting, or what I feel that actor will benefit from working on.

Personal Description:
19 Years Old, currently studying History at Lancaster University.
Looking to become a History teacher in the near future, and looking to add to a CV which already includes much academical success.
Approachable and easy going, tutors often referring to me as a "pleasure to be around" and "a well motivated and organised student, hungry for success"

Personal success in good, seeing others benifit thanks to your help is even better

Teaching Experience:

Work Experience at Primary Schools as a Teaching Assistant.
Frequent presentations given at A Level and Degree standard for teaching experience and peer to peer learning.
Frequently helping out my younger sisters with their GCSE homework so a good understanding of most subjects at that level too although History at any level is my speciality.
Also, as i am still at University at present, i am still in a learning environment and frequently get tips from my lectures and tutors there.

Tutoring Approach:

Willing to use a variety of techniques depending on the individual preference
Will discuss learning strengths with both the parents and the individual themselves to find most effective way to tutor each individual.
Also, a mixture of more serious work - essays, mini assessments - combined with fun - games, online activities - as i believe a variety of activities are needed to keep the individual interested, and being in higher education myself, i know that people learn more when they are having fun.
Help the individual with school/college work whilst providing extra help on topics which they suggest.
Prefer to set mini assignements for the next meeting, which we will then go through at the next tutoring session, highlighting any potential difficulties.

Personal Description:
I am a hard working and dedicated teacher. I currently work part-time in a sixth form college in Surrey on my day off I am completing my MSc in Democracy, Politics and Governance.
I have just moved to the Wimbledon area and am looking for a bit of extra spending money.

Outside of education I am interested in canoeing and rugby. I occasionally help prepare the coaching clinics at the Twickenham Stoop for Harlequins on a match day. I am also very interested in reading with modern fiction being a particular favourite.

Teaching Experience:

I am relatively new to the profession, having obtained my PGCE in 2006. I decided to focus upon post-compulsory education and so my teaching qualification is valid for students aged 16 and above (this doesn't mean I am incapable of teaching younger students!)
During my first year in my current job I enjoyed a 100% success rate with all students passing. This was in AS politics, AS Citizenship and A2 Politics. This year there was a high proportion of my AS students continuing with my course in the second year and most students performed above predicted expectations.

Tutoring Approach:

I would want to encourage discussion in my tutoring. I would hope that the most successful method of learning is to become engaged in a subject. I like students who have their own ideas and are willing to share them.
However, I would also want to encourage high academic standards. This may involve studying additional resources in an attempt to gain a higher knowledge of the topic.
If my students were preparing for a public exam I would expect them to be working on their exam technique and time management.
