Personal Description:
Hello,
I`ve been tutoring Mathematics at all levels since 1996. Have an outstanding record of getting students top grades. I encourage a hard work ethic and discipline.

For A'level and GSCE students, material is taught as per their exam board requires, with plently of emphasis on the importance of past paper revision.

For younger children I specialise in Vendic Mathematics, subtraction via addition, estimate and adjust, etc. As well as applying the story book method to assist a childs memory techniques.

All students are taught about goal setting principles, motivating themselves and not settling for real and achievable standards.

Teaching Experience:

Have been teaching one-to-one since 1996. Software Engineer by trade.

Tutoring Approach:

Secret to my teaching style is to deliver the subject in a manner that appeals to the student.
Using examples that are relavent to the student's interest are key to understanding.

Personal Description:
Hey there. I'm Danny, and I'm a third year medical student at Imperial College London, but my interests aren't solely limited to science! I love learning new languages, travelling to new places, and am committed to furthering the education of the next generation.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring officially for two years now, but also unofficially tutored my sister and other students for GCSE/AS Level previous to this. My experiences includes tutoring students in the areas of Maths, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and German, and the past two years have really helped me formulate my preferred method of tutoring and find out what works best for the student in question.
I now attend conferences aimed at helping younger students get into medical school, which includes conducting mock interviews, helping students with their personal statements and tutoring them. I'm also a Medic Dad this year - this includes mentoring a medical student in the first year and being an unofficial port of call if they need help with academic matters or otherwise.

Tutoring Approach:

The most important thing to me is that any tutee of mine understands the fundamental concepts of what they're learning, rather than simply rote learning, as much more is achieved this way. It's also important that I help encourage any tutee to enjoy what they doing. I like to approach topics with a comfortable attitude whilst still maintaining a firm schedule of work. I hope that my being a student will allow an informal atmosphere between myself and any tutee, and that we can build a good relationship during out tutoring time.

Personal Description:
I am currently studying medicine at Imperial College London and also have a 2.1 degree in Biomedical Science from Aston University.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored one to one biology for GCSE and A Level students for five years and have spent 7 years tutoring children of primary school age and secondary school students aged 11-14. For the past two years I have worked part time at a tuition centre teaching both groups and one to one lessons for ages ranging from 6 to 18, in the fields of Science, Maths and English.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring style varies greatly between age groups. With younger children, I prefer the use of examples, starting with easier questions and building up to more difficult questions. I feel that this method is an effective means of interacting with the student and understanding his/ her ability. With older students, I always prefer to let the student dictate how he/she would like to learn and adapt my teaching style to their learning.

For all levels, it is important to summarise at the end of each session and provide questions to help apply knowledge.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic and friendly individual with a passion for learning. I studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University and subsequently completed an MSc in the History and Philosophy of Science at the London School of Economics. I am fascinated by the natural world and by scientific enquiry. When I'm not teaching or learning I enjoy foreign cinema, playing tennis, and strumming the guitar.

Teaching Experience:

After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked as a full-time teacher at d'Overbroeck's Sixth Form College, Oxford. During this four-year period, I taught A-level Philosophy, Sociology and Religious Studies (all AQA examining board). More recently, I have worked as a teaching assistant at Canterbury High School, focussing on struggling students and helping them achieve their potential. Concurrently, I have also worked as a private tutor teaching GCSE Maths, Chemistry and Physics as well as 11+ Maths preparation.

Tutoring Approach:

Once I understand exactly what a tutee hopes to achieve (e.g. A* Maths GCSE, or simply understanding algebra) I have three main priorities as a tutor:

i) to identify a students strengths and weaknesses through short tests

ii) to provide a course of study and assessment that will focus on the weaknesses and monitor progress

iii) to give the student belief in themselves and their abilities and to instill a love of learning!

Personal Description:
I am a caring, encouraging and creative tutor who holds full Qualified Teacher Status. I have taught a diverse range of children with a variety of needs. and have had considerable experience with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, Dyscalculia ASD, behavioural issues and children with English as an additional language. I also hold a qualification in teaching students with dyslexia. I am currently working towards a qualification in being able to assess students with dyslexia.

I have been fortunate in my teaching career as I have taught from Nursery to Year 13, both in the State and Independent sector. I have taught a range of subjects and have also been a Special Needs Co-ordinator. Two days a week I work in a unit for children with Dyslexia.

As a Specialist Tutor I provide literacy, numeracy and study skills support for students of all ages with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and related conditions. I am also happy to teach up to study skills and touch typing if necessary.

My expertise is in supporting students with SEN.These students have a number of conditions that co-exist and require highly specialised support. However, I do support students who have Dyslexia on its own. I am also happy to tutor students that do not have any special needs, but may just need an extra boost.

I`m available to tutor in the daytime, evenings and at weekends. If you require help with home schooling I can offer assistance with that and I'm also available for lessons during the school holidays, including residential jobs.

Tutoring Approach:

Every lesson is carefully tailored and planned meticulously to meet the needs of each pupil. Every lesson is monitored and evaluated to ensure maximum benefit.

I love working with young people and seeing them achieve their goals. I appreciate that each student is different so I always strive to ensure my tutoring reflects their individual needs, goals and learning style. I will seek to spark the student`s interest in a subject in the interim. I find that often the best way to do this is by highlighting its relevance outside of an academic context. Once that eagerness is there I believe confidence is the key to successful academic learning, so I am generous with praise and do all I can to ensure my students feel empowered. I also use precise assessment to identify weaknesses and target those areas for improvement. Using this method I have found students achieve the best possible results and gain maximum enjoyment from their subject.

I am an Engineering/Energy Professional living in Aberdeen City. I have been in Aberdeen since 2008, originally was in for a masters' degree in Energy Futures (Oil & Gas Engineering). I have an excellent understanding of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry which are at the core of my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and I still use today. I am a calm individual who understands that everyone is unique with different speed of comprehension and always try to find out the sparks in individuals. I enjoy teaching Mathematics to all levels, especially the young minds because I believe practicing, solving and understanding mathematics sharpens the brain in understanding and quickly solving other problems in life as they grow. I have over 5 years of experience; covering teaching in private homes of families, friends, acquaintances, and tutorial lessons/coaching centres. I have undertaken teaching secondary school students and a few 1st year undergraduate students. My approach in tutoring/teaching is to seek favourable environment best suited to students' level of assimilation and progress this through the length of time against a log and when there are difficulties propose alternatives to achieving the goal of understanding and mastering problem solving skills.

Personal Description:
I am currently a First year student of the University of Warwick Studying Engineering

I am a very enthusiastic teacher who loves to share knowledge with other people and also love learning myself.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored both Maths and English to students in Manchester Academy, in both cases students made excellent progress.

I have also tutored all 3 sciences, Maths and English to 2 children between 2013 and 2015 as well as helping one of the students with her 11+ entrance exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe 1 to 1 teaching is the best form of teaching you can provide as the child can ask as many questions without fear and also you can work on a more personal level, compared with teaching around 30 children. I like this because I can then tailor the teaching to the child so they can learn in a way that suits them, for example, if the child learns through visuals I may draw many diagrams so explain points.

Personal Description:
I am a mature professional with broad portfolio career in engineering, information technology, education and commerce. A qualified Mathematics Teacher (PGCE) with over 10 years working in schools with pupils and students aged 10 through 18. My teaching career led me into the use of information technology in schools, and later into a career in IT management and the Civil Service. One of my specialist skills is programming financial trading systems. Married with 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Keen walker, especially when accompanied by our eager Jack Russell.

Teaching Experience:

My main experience has been in secondary education, teaching GCSE and A Level. However I spent a year teaching at primary level, preparing pupils for 11+ and Common Entrance. I have recently done some tutoring for GCSE. During my time in education I published a guide to help explain the basics of GCSE maths.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is traditional, with plenty of practice on the basics to build confidence and then gradually increasing the tempo to cover the more testing parts of the exam syllabus. I understand why some find it hard to understand the more abstract concepts and have a knack of explaining how best to overcome these barriers.
