Personal Description:
I have tutored Maths, English and Special Needs now for nearly five years, building up a rapport with each individual and their family to ensure best results. My tutoring experience spans from children aged 4 years to adults aged 44 years, with varying degrees of motivation, interest and abilities.

Due to my high interest in supporting others, I chose a career path as a Speech and Language Therapist, and I qualified in this esteemed profession 3 years ago. On a daily basis I work with children from pre-school age right up to young adults, in a range of settings from special needs schools and mainstream schools, to community clinics and home visits. I am highly passionate about helping all I support to work together to reach their potential.

I am a genuinely caring and generous person and I am more than capable of sharing my passion for Maths and English to anyone I work with, including those with additional needs.

Teaching Experience:

Through my job as a Speech and Language Therapist I work with children of all cognitive abilities on a one-to-one level to improve their communication and language skills. The work I do coincides with the National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage, and I work with parents and teachers to set individualised targets, which is similar to the tutoring world.

Prior to commencing my current job I worked as a special needs assistant at a primary school. On a daily basis I was required to give additional support on a one-to-one basis to children who struggled in the (often) large classroom, by working through the literacy or numeracy curriculum at their own pace. I was also relied upon to support in assigned classrooms through supervising children while working on a task or taking groups of children for reading. Working in a school ensured that I keep current my knowledge of Educational and National Curriculum issues.

From June-August 2011, I travelled to Pennsylvania, USA, to work as a Speech and Language Therapist at a summer camp for children with special needs (age range 7-20). I was recommended for this job due to my extensive experience and my friendly positive nature. The experience of living and working with children and teens with individual needs and accompanying challenging behaviours highlighted the importance of taking a flexible holistic approach when assessing skills, implementing support and evaluating improvements.

In June 2009, I participated in the Student Associate Scheme organised by the University of Manchester. This involved intensive teacher training and then carrying out a block placement of three weeks within two schools teaching and assisting in core subjects e.g. Mathematics and English. I worked with two children in particular who struggled and I helped improve their numeracy and literacy skills by adapting their learning technique to suit their individual needs.

Tutoring Approach:

For nearly five years I have tutored Maths, English and Special Needs in three areas of the UK, including two major cities. I have assisted students of varying ages, abilities and additional needs including Dyslexia, Autism and Specific Language Impairment - from early years pupils to mature students. I find that tutees benefit from the one-to-one focus they are given, and the individualised plans we work from enforces enhancement of their current knowledge in their chosen subject areas.

I always ensure a person-centred approach is achieved when tutoring. Each tutee learns through different techniques and at different speeds so I develop my tutoring level and scope to suit the individuals needs. I tutored three children for 2013's 'Transfer Test' (Northern Ireland's Grammar School intake assessment) and the results confirmed that this approach is effective, as all sitting the demanding test passed with flying colours, with two getting into Northern Ireland's top Grammar School.

Personal Description:
I have spent 8 years at university, completed two degrees (one of which with a Teacher-training profile) and various development courses, and have been meanwhile working to support myself financially. I have been employed as a paid English Language and Literature and ESOL Teacher and have done extensive voluntary community care of people from various cultures and backgrounds. I speak, read and write fluent English, Bulgarian and Russian and operate freely with Microsoft Packages and the Internet

My tutoring experience across two cultures consisted of learners of various ages and educational needs - from students of English as a Foreign Language (adults) to preparation for GCSE examinations (Secondary school age) and basic literacy skills for Primary school children. I have proved to be very efficient on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, always searching to find the individual approach to each student, seeking to meet their needs and interests. Some of my students successfully passed their GCSE exams, others moved up with one level in their acquisition of English. All of my primary or secondary school pupils noted progress within the area they struggled with and some moved up to 'top' groups in their respective school classes.

I am friendly and approachable and children quickly warm to me and feel they can trust me and share their problems with me. I respect each child's individual strengths. I provide for their individual needs. I find a personal approach to each child, as I recognise that their learning styles and interests differ. I have already been tutoring privately for 14 years (across two countries) and have only had positive comments from appreciative parents and students.

I enjoy tutoring adults as well. I have taught ESOL, Bulgarian and Russian to adult students.

Presently I am employed full-time as a Lecturer of ESOL to adults at Birmingham Metropolitan College but I continue to tutor privately. I have a son of 4 years, who is presently attending nursery in Rubery.

During my teaching, tutoring and voluntary community care duties I worked closely with people with various problems and needs. This has helped me develop excellent communication and problem solving skills, as well as openness and confidence. Meeting those people's different needs has also taught me to show flexibility and quickly and independently seek solutions to challenges even in unfamiliar circumstances. I successfully find an individual approach to relate to everyone. Both as a teacher and community carer I have been described as 'friendly, tolerant', 'a good communicator', and a person of punctuality, reliability and 'excellent professionalism'.

For the last 4 years I have mainly tutored clients, forwarded to me by the agency Personal Tutors but now I wish to extend my experience.

Teaching Experience:

During my other wide experience of teaching I have been exposed to various aspects of the profession. While teaching English at a Secondary College in Bulgaria I had the chance to teach English literature more extensively, which deepened my knowledge of it. I also taught English at the equivalent of an A-level in the UK, successfully preparing students for university examinations. My lessons have been described as 'interesting and inspirational'. Teaching basic Literacy, Speaking and Listening skills and Creative Writing to adults in the UK broadened my experience even more. During my various tutoring duties in Bulgaria I worked with children and young adults of various ages and educational needs, which has further enriched my teaching practice and increased my flexibility in target setting.

While employed by Harborne Hill School in Birmingham I taught English Key Stage 3 and 4 and was involved in the preparation of Year 10 for their GCSE exams. I am familiar with the British System of Secondary Education, as well as with the National Curriculum and the importance of teaching English across the curriculum. I contributed to creating schemes of work and various materials for the English department at Harborne Hill. I also widely used ICT in my lessons, as I am aware that it is very important for accelerating children's learning. All my groups had a regular weekly lesson in the ICT suite.

My lesson preparation at Harborne Hill School was described as 'exemplary' and 'outstanding', the contents as 'interesting and stimulating', and my knowledge of the subject as 'excellent'. I widely and confidently used my own initiative to prepare creative activities to suit the children's needs and appeal to their imagination (working a youth leader at St Agnes church provided me with ideas for interesting activities). I was successful in trouble-shooting and behaviour management. I was able to quickly establish personal rapport with the pupils and find an individual approach to each one. I successfully motivated them to work and reach their potential when they were reluctant to do so. I was responsible for creating individual educational plans for the SEN children and individually monitor their progress. My background interest and extensive reading in Child Psychology and Counselling helped me with this task.

Tutoring Approach:

First I negotiate the times and modes of tutoring with the parents of my potential pupil and agree on fees.
Then I organise a free initial meeting with the pupil and their parents, where I try to establish raport with the pupil. It is important, especially for children, to 'get a feel' of the new tutor and see if they can feel comfortable with her.
Then I try to access as much information as possible from the parents and the child about their progress at school and their attitude to school. If possible, I wish to see samples of the child's school work, or hear anything teachers have said/written about their progress.
During the first lesson I conduct an informal assessment of the pupil's skills - give them a piece of text to read, or free writing or short composition, or a couple of Maths problems to solve. When I get a clear picture of where my pupil stands with a certain skill, I create a short-term plan for work with them. I normally bring materials with me and do not ask parents to buy additional materials. If the parent wishes me to follow a certain help-book, I am happy to oblige.
I update parents regularly of their child's progress - I try to do it after every lesson. I normally leave homework, designed to consolidate the material covered in the lesson, or develop their skills further. I wish parents to be involved as much as possible with helping or monitoring the completion of the homework.
I try to show my pupils as much respect as possible and affirm them as individuals. I acknowledge their birthdays, Christmas, or other family celebrations.
The parents can terminate the service at any time, with only one week notice.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate of Oxford University in Engineering and Computing Science. I am fluent in French (as well as English and Polish). From an early age, I had a passion for maths and physics and at school, I imagined how I would envisage teaching those subjects differently. I would often explain things in an alternative way to my friends to help their understanding.
Please note that I also teach engineering topics at university level, usually up to first or second year, depending on the topics.

Teaching Experience:

I have a variety of tutoring experience at both university and high school level (AS and A level). I like to begin teaching with a session to become acquainted with the tutee and their needs.

At Oxford, I studied under the tutorial system which usually meant one professor to one or two students and this taught me to express myself clearly. I often studied one-to-one with a coursemate where learning was achieved through exchanging knowledge by teaching each other.

Tutoring Approach:

I know that every person learns differently and I will be looking to tailor my tutoring style to every student's particular needs. For maths, engineering and physics, I will aim to first establish a thorough understanding of the basics concepts, which is fundamental to making progress in scientific subjects; this will be followed by lots of practice. For French, the key is to be comfortable with the language and I will aim to conduct lessons entirely in French as soon as possible.

Personal Description:
Law graduate from Swansea University, I specialise in, A-level law, level 3 Ilex, Sociology of Law, Human Rights, International Law, Anti Social Behaviour and Criminal Evidence. I also teach Maths and English up to GCSE level at a reputable FE college. I hold a PGCE in post-compulsory education and training and am also studying towards a Masters degree in Education.

I travel frequently between Bridgend and Cardiff.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching Law, Maths and English at a Further Education College since January 2012. I also have experience teaching English and Maths within the primary sector.

I plan, create and teach lessons around the syllabus set out by the exam board, producing lesson plans, booklets, worksheets and slideshows, using modern technology as a fundamental teaching aid.

As a private tutor I have provided additional support to struggling learners. This tuition has allowed me to teach on a one-to-one basis, to learners aged 24 - 50. I have assisted these individuals by explaining course content, producing hand-outs, providing quick responses to questions sent via email, going through the syllabus/exam requirements/mark schemes, providing long term lesson planning and providing positive support to those who are obviously anxious. As a private tutor I have taught contract law, client carer and Civil Litigation at level 3 ILEX. I have also tutored tort and human rights at level 6 degree. I keep up to date with developments within law and provide learners with the skills to do likewise. During this period of time I worked with a number of students who had both mental and physical difficulties.

Tutoring Approach:

Relating to the student is key, as a relatively young teacher myself this is something I practice. Student participation is the main focus point of my teaching method, I act to facilitate and guide learning rather than spoon feed knowledge.

Personal Description:
I was born in Pakistan but I was brought up in London. I did my secondary education in Brampton manor Academy which is located in London. Then I did my A levels in Newvic sixth form college. In college I have studying Law, ICT and forensic science. Forensic science is a subject that will provide me with a good foundation in science. Furthermore I selected ICT as an A Level as this subject will help to develop my technical skills, such as booking appointments at work, carrying out independent research on the new to look for new engaging ideas. Studying A-Level Law as enhanced by essay writing and comprehensive reading skills. These skills are important for life at work as I am aware that working life requires independent work and extensive research to complete the tasks at work.

Teaching Experience:

I have completed my work experience in Nelson Primary School. During my period in school, I was involved with a group of year 6 students, teaching them about numeracy and algebra. This practise has made me more confident in talking to different people from various age groups. I have developed a lot of skills as I feel my communication skills have improved and both my oral, written and listening skills are developed as well. Moreover I have also worked in George Green children centre, which is a nursery school. In that time I have gained a variety of understanding about managing and monitoring different tasks. The most vital thing which I have gained during this experience was organisation skills; this involves keeping my surrounding organised and it plays a key role in helping you get things achieved.

Tutoring Approach:

This is the first time I am on tutoring as a full time. I am a very hard working person. I plan out my work routines and make good use of time as in my free time. I always meet my deadlines and give my work of high quality and to the best of my ability. I believe that tutoring will finally give me an opportunity to do what I have always been interested in. I believe that Socialising is very essential, and I always love to meet new people. and i will do my best to teach the candidates to a great level.

Personal Description:
I am a Spanish postgraduate student doing a MSc in Paleobiology at the University of Bristol, where I currently live. I mainly have anl academic background in Biology (BSc in Biology + MSci in Evolutionary Biology) and I am now expanding my studies in the field. Hopefully I will starting my PhD studies the next Autumn Term.

Teaching Experience:

I have more than 5 years of experience as a private tutor both for Spanish and English students of all ages (from 7 to 30). However, most of them of them were in their teens and first years of University. I have managed also in a satisfactory way tutoring with students with special learning needs.

Tutoring Approach:

I strongly believe in a relaxed and pleasant teaching environment as the process of learning is controlled in an essential proportion by motivation and emotional mood. Additionally, I am really keen in Science, and in particular actually passionate about Biology. Therefore, as I have also good communicative skills, I feel I can transmit this passion to my students.

Lately, I have become really keen on languages as I am basically living a daily cultural interchange in UK. As a native speaker of Spanish, I could teach the language in a thorough way and virtually managed any level the student may have.
