Personal Description:
I studied Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. After 2 years however, I switched to studying Biological Sciences locally at Salford University. I graduated this year with a First Class Honours in Biological Sciences (BSc Hons) ranking in the top 2% of our class. Teaching is something I have enjoyed immensely throughout my studies, and continue to do so.

Coming from a varied academic background has given me a strong foundation in all of the Natural Sciences (Maths, Chemistry & Biology and Physics). I am passionate about all of these subjects - I would be more than willing to help a student out in either of them regardless of their level or previous achievement

I studied locally in Manchester for my GCSE`s and A-levels where I achieved the following grades:

4 A`s at A2-level in:
Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics & General Studies

GCSE level: 6A*'s: Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, French, 2As, 2Bs

Teaching Experience:

Taught Maths & Sciences extensively at GCSE/A-level while at school and college. This was as a part-time tutor for under-achieving students after school and during some lunch breaks.

As well as often helping out classmates unofficially I have tutored several students at my university up to A2 & Undergraduate level in Chemistry & Biology (and selected topics in Maths) helping them to achieve the highest possible marks in the their exams. All of my students have achieved their goals.

Teaching so far it has been an immensely rewarding experience - and one that I am committed to pursuing!

Tutoring Approach:

I treat each tutee as an individual, and work with them according to their specific needs. I believe it is important to learn how to think critically & independently, especially when tackling the Sciences or Maths. I encourage and help tutees to develop this thinking process and also to find out what really motivates them to excel in their chosen subjects.

I have many relevant learning resources (books, lecture notes, past exams, etc..) for all of my teaching subjects so along with your own learning materials I will add in some extra helpful material as & when necessary.

If you (as a parent or student) can specify what exactly your aim is (whether it be to cover a single topic, to complete a past paper or to learn a whole course from start to finish in time for an exam) I will help you to prepare and execute the best plan of action to reach your targets!

Please get in touch to discuss your goals and how best I can help you achieve them

Personal Description:
My name is Matthew and I am an experienced mathematics tutor up to GCSE Level. I hold a 2:1 degree in Engineering and a post graduate diploma in strategic Business Information Systems from University of East London. I hold a full CRB check which is available on request.

Teaching Experience:

I am presently working as a Mathematics cover teacher in one the community schools in London and I am very passionate about my subject. I got into teaching to make a different in young peoples lives and to help inspire young people towards further education. I have successfully tutored many GCSE students and their remarkable result speaks for itself. I Love challenges; one of which is to help students with special needs to achieve their best possible.

Tutoring Approach:

I undertakes a motivational approach to teaching. Experience has taught that most students lack confidence in their ability and often under rate what they already knew. I often start by assessing my students and creating a learning log of their strength and weakness. This enables me to set target and bench-marks on what we need to learn, how best we need to learn and how much we need to learn. However, I am very flexible, friendly and a realist.

Personal Description:
I started training as a teacher shortly after leaving college. I had to abandon the idea in my last year due to my fathers untimely death. Teaching has always been the center of my strengths from an early age, I had watched my father teach in primary and felt confident that one day I would do the same thing. Although teaching is a thankless task and many we teach forget us very quickly. I do feel it provides us with a self satisfaction that we have made a difference. My academic qualification started at East College following through to Greenwich University and ended with the Brentwood Diocese receiving a CCRS in Religious studies.

Teaching Experience:

My Post graduation in Certificate of education was accredited by the Greenwich University. My Humanities Degree was through the Open University and continuing accreditation from the Trinity College where I received a CertTESOL qualification in English. In addition I attended the Brentwood Diocese to take up 8 modules in order to receive CCRS in Religious studies allowing me to teach in Catholic Schools.
I have taught in both Primary and Secondary school and colleges. I have my own Tutoring academy in Essex that services over thirty students a week. Although I have already secured a foot hold in the field of teaching I believe that my skills and dedication to the field is strengthened by my full vocation and love I have in education and learning.

Tutoring Approach:

Students at all level are unique. Every child no matter what level they are work towards their best ability. We as teachers should always adhere to the child's needs not what we can offer but what they can give us. Learning is a to way participation. Understanding and perseverance is only part of teaching we must empathies ourselves to the child and find the weakness and strengthen it. I have said I have my own academy but I have done it not through advertising but referrals from past students. After almost 4 years its still the same as it as always was.

I have a lot of experience in private tutoring of English, maths and sciences, as well as tutoring for the company AE tuition for 11+ entrance exams and GCSE preparation. One of my most recent tutees was offered a scholarship to a private school, having come to me from the bottom of his class in English. I also have experience as a play specialist on a London paediatric unit, so have worked with a wide range of children.

I race for the university ski team and I have many hobbies, including climbing and piano. I have always been passionate about my studies, ranging from science to art, ancient history to french.

Teaching Experience:

18 months at AE tuition (Berkshire):

Maths ages 7-11
Verbal reasoning ages 7-11
Non verbal reasoning ages 9-11
Creative writing ages 9-11
GCSE science preparation

Private tuition in maths, science, piano and french

Tutoring Approach:

I work very well with children and have also worked with adults with learning difficulties. My previous experience has allowed me to develop a patient approach to teaching as I feel it is important for the student (whatever age) to gain enthusiasm and confidence in their subject, something which is often overseen in the school class room and in adult education.

I do provide homework, but not so much that it interferes with other studies.

Personal Description:
A qualified secondary school teacher with a fresh approach to teaching maths and music. Having spent most of my life in the education system (both as a student and a teacher) I have a real passion for learning, something I endeavour to pass on to my students.

Teaching Experience:

As a secondary school teacher I have over 5 years classroom experience and I have been tutoring privately since university.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the key to good learning is enjoyment and building the student`s belief in their own ability and understanding. School work can sometimes leave people without confidence, and I think one of my strengths is an ability to boost the self-confidence of learners and make them believe they can do it! We all learn in different ways and I encourage students who have been struggling with certain learning methods to find the one that is right for them. Often a few gaps in knowledge will leave students feeling they don't have the ability to understand the subject at all. It's very important to first assess current knowledge and understanding, and then go back to basics if necessary so that students can regain their confidence in their own ability.

I feel it`s extremely important to have a good relationship between the tutor and the student, and I always endeavour to have excellent working relationships with my students.

Please note: My stated rates are for students travelling to me. Travel up to 5 miles 30 an hour (primary 28). For travel up to 10 miles 35 an hour (primary 32). Unfortunately I am unable to travel beyond 10 road miles.

What previous clients have said about lessons with me:

"Danielle was just fantastic with Zoe. Zoe really enjoyed the tutoring sessions and appreciated the mentoring. The results speaks for itself. She really picked up the subject matter and achieved a significantly high grade. Thank you Danielle, you`ve really made a difference in Zoe`s education. I would go so far to say that she has really changed her approach to learning."

"Danielle has been very encouraging with my daughter and she is benefitting greatly from her lessons. I would be happy to recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor."

Personal Description:
I am a 31 year old male living in Worcester, teaching in Worcestershire. I like sports and keeping active. I have done two Camp Americas in my early twenties, which I thoroughly enjoyed. This led me eventually onto doing a TEFL course where I taught English in China. Now, I have also been a Primary School teacher working in Herefordshire.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching now in the UK for two years in Primary Schools across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. I have taught across Years 2,3,4,5 and 6. My method of teaching brings in fun for the children as well as learning something easily. My aim is to always get the best out of the children I am teaching.
I have taught in China for 9 months previously where I was responsible for teaching 14 children and adults at different times. I was also given the responsibilities of teaching 1-2-1 whilst out there. This I thoroughly enjoyed. From this, I can speak basic Mandarin.
Tutoring wise, I have taught 7 year old children Literacy to Year 7 entrance exams and I am looking at taking on more children or adults to tutor this year Academic year.

Tutoring Approach:

I am happy to travel to tutor or have people come to my house to be tutored. I will use all sorts of resources to help the person learn. I believe that enjoying learning and doing different tasks always helps people learn.

Personal Description:
I am a divorcee with two teenagers and a rather loopy dog (all housetrained!) I discovered the joys of teaching as a parent helper at my children's Infant and Junior schools which inspired me to qualify as a Primary School teacher. Unfortunately I have developed arthritis in my knee which is why I am looking to continue my teaching in a non-school environment. My favourite academic subject is literacy because I love reading books by a wide range of authors, e.g. Austin and Dickens to J K Rowling and Jacqueline Wilson. I love creative crafts e.g. card making, cross stitch, scrapbooking etc. Music plays a big part in my life, including listening and making. I'm a bit of a diva on the recorder and can play the full range from Sopranino to Bass. I love to sing.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified Primary School Teacher who has worked in a number of schools in Essex in permanent, temporary and supply posts across both KS1 and KS2 over the last four years. My PGCE was obtained through School Centred Initial Teacher Training (which comprised spending a lot of time working directly with children). Prior to that I was a parent helper and governor for 5 years at my children's Infant and Junior Schools. I was Music Leader at my last school for two years and ran the choir. I enjoy teaching all primary subjects. I am keen to also support adults in improving their maths and literacy skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I am familiar with the Primary Curriculum. Hands on learning is great fun and I enjoy practical activities. I love working on a one to one basis as you can build a rapport and really personalise the learning. I enjoy topic work as it gives the learning a context and shows that subjects do not stand alone without any connections/overlap with each other (just like life). I am keen to support both adults and children in mastering literacy and numeracy skills because they are fundamental life skills. Personalised learning means that any gaps can be filled so that an individual has a firm foundation on which to build.

Personal Description:
I am 53, married, with two grown-up children.

Teaching Experience:

I teach maths one-to-one, in small groups and in whole classes at several secondary schools in Tyne and Wear as well as at further education colleges, covering all ages up to A level.

Tutoring Approach:

The first lesson is free.

I enjoy explaining maths at all levels of ability and get real satisfaction from connecting at the student`s level. I believe I`m good at recognising what that level is and being able to adjust my explanations accordingly. I`m pretty relaxed and like my students to feel comfortable during our sessions. My approach is to identify areas of weakness, explain concepts from basics, then do some questions till confidence is achieved.

Personal Description:
I love teaching and believe that this enthusiasm is fundamental in getting the best out of my tutees. With a proven track record as an excellent tutor throughout KS2 & KS3, I take in to account both the pastoral and academic needs of my tutees, genuinely caring about them as individuals and using their own interests within each session to help inspire them. I treat my tutees with respect and care in order to give them the confidence to achieve well academically as I firmly believe that confidence in one's ability is often the key to success.

Teaching Experience:

I have a vast experience of both the English and maths syllabi having taught in large, well-respected Prep Schools for the past 8 years. Having worked with a great many students of different ages and abilities, I am fully aware of what is needed for students to be successful whether it be in SATS, 11+, 13+ and Common Entrance exams or simply just to feel more confident in school.

Tutoring Approach:

Every tutor session is tailored entirely to the tutee, offering a range of different activities to ensure the sessions are dynamic and fun. If working towards an exam, then past papers and practising exam technique are key, not only to determine on which areas we need to focus, but also to ensure familiarity with the various formats.

Personal Description:
My name is Barney, I'm 21 years old and an undergraduate history student at King's College London. I live a diverse lifestyle; despite the fact I am diligent and aim to excel in my studies, I also fulfill my time on the sports field, within the theater and in all aspects of life to the full. For example, I am the captain of the King's College London Rugby 1st XV, a position which necessitates not only ability but also a great deal of responsibility. Furthermore, in my 1st year at King's College London I played a lead role in the university production of 'Fame' the musical. Nonetheless, academia is of vital importance to me; I'm constantly striving to learn and I love being able to teach others what I have come across. Most importantly however, I'm an affable, caring and honest person. I know how to make people laugh and I value my people skills above all else. Whilst at school, I undertook an A.C.H.E. scheme (Advice, Care, Help, Empathy), which enabled me to act as a student councilor to anyone feeling upset, worried or just needing guidance.

Teaching Experience:

Within my role as Deputy Head Boy at my secondary school (Truro School, TR1 1TH), I was required not only to fulfill supervisory but also educational roles. This meant aiding the teachers, sometimes by assisting individuals who required extra help.

In the Spring of 2012 I spent two months working among orphanages in a deprived part of Buenos Aires known as the Hidden City, with a volunteer group named L.I.F.E - (Luchemos para una Infancia Feliz y con Esperanza: We Strive for a Childhood with Happiness and Hope.) I was working with children between the ages of 5 and 12 more or less. Although they had very little educational background, it was our duty to impart what we could upon them; it required immense diligence and effort considering many of the children were unwilling to listen, let alone learn. However, this difficult but extremely rewarding opportunity provided me with teaching skills that cannot be underestimated. Namely, the ability to form a positive relationship with the child so as to ensure the best can be achieved.

Tutoring Approach:

As alluded to in the previous section, my approach to tutoring requires the formation of a positive relationship between tutor and tutored. I believe it is essential that there is rapport between both parties, in order to ensure that the tutored performs to their capability. As is nature, people are more willing to learn for those who they respect and like - precisely the opposite occurs if someone dreads tutoring. Educationally speaking, my approach is well structured, but varies greatly depending on the age. Regardless, it will always be in accordance with set examination boards and/or specific entrance exams. My exact approach is more easily demonstrated via e-mail once I know the specifics, and consequently can tailor accordingly.

My English and maths tuition services are provided for people studying up to GCSE level, whereas my computing tuition covers all levels from beginning with computer science at school level, through to masters degree level computer science and training for industry organisations.

My experience of working on commercial software development projects can be used as an advantage to provide my students with an insight to how the lessons taught are applied to the real world as well as being able to give an insight to possible paths to a desired career in computing. I have also created a set of interactive apps that allow my maths and English students to more easily understand the concepts the need to know for their exams.

I provide tuition to GCSE level for English and maths, as well as computing at all all levels to masters degree and commercial level. Additionally, I can assist adult learners to apply the skills taught in my tuition sessions to enhance their career and employability prospects. * Computing concepts for business:

Tutoring Approach:

The first and most important step in my tuition is to identify the motivations and learning styles of the learner. This is an important part of the process because it allows me to identify what knowledge is to be taught, and how - i.e. whether the student is more receptive to visual, auditory or kinaesthetic (hands on) learning. With this information to hand, I am able to identify the type of learning experience that is most suitable for the learner.

Upon the identification of the student's needs and learning style, I create and provide access to an interactive visual learning roadmap. This is an online tool that students and their parents can access, providing details of:

* The plan for each lesson.
* Progress made for each lesson so far.
* Success in learning activities engaged.

My system also allow both the learner and their parents to take more control of the direction of their tuition by providing the ability to:

* Make suggestions.
* Questions and receive answers.

By allowing all parties involved to receive notifications, my system ensures that everyone is kept updated about what is expected from each lesson and what is required in advance.

My visual learning system also has the ability for interactive apps to be provided, allowing learners to practise their learning at home or on the move using their smartphone, tablet or desktop computer. Apps can provide progress reporting, allowing parents to review how much practise and improvement has been made on a week by week basis.
