My student centred teaching experience means that I work towards developing the full academic potential of the student. With the use of materials and methods which engage the student, strengthens their understanding and improves the quality of their written work I am able to keep the student focused and interested in what they are learning and create a stress free approach towards achieving high results. I am also conscious of the need for practical advice and support to reduce stress in the struggle to achieving high grades in exams. I am able to build on a students weak areas, draw on the students areas of interest in the discipline, provide a structure programme of work leading up to deadlines, give feedback on how to improve course / school work.

My teaching style is always ensure the student progresses in their learning every lesson. Personal Description:
I am a lively and enthusiastic student, I am doing my degree at university and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I have always had a passion for teaching, as the younger generation is our future and I believe that it is very important that they are well educated. I know that private tutoring is very useful, as I myself have had it, it helps build confidence in students that don't feel that they are up to speed in school.

I am highly passionate about everything I do, this includes activities such as playing guitar and studying motors. I know that I am an able tutor when it comes to students of any ability.

Teaching Experience:

I started my career tutoring only young children on a casual basis, I now have tutored children professionally. My eldest student was 18, and my youngest was 6. I enjoy teaching children of all ages. I tutor in Maths, English and Spanish, and I am able to tutor in Film Studies too. I have studied all of these subjects myself and have gained respectable grades in them. I believe that having worked in a customer based environment for many years means that I am an easy to talk to person and I found that this is helpful in tutoring.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a university student, and I the way in which I teach is by using practice questions and repetitively going over the necessary work, as I believe that this helps the student grasp the work. I also aim to make sure that the student can understand the work as well as answer questions, as understanding is the most important part.

The lessons would always be well structured. I would begin by going over the facts and showing examples of how things can be solved. I would then go on to give practice questions, with which I would help, and finally I would leave the student with a practice question as homework.

Personal Description:
I am a third year medical student at Imperial College London. Having just graduated from secondary school I feel that I am an ideal candidate to help ease the challenges of school subjects for students.

During my school career I achieved 8 A* and 4 A's. Furthermore I achieved 1 A* and 3 A's during my A levels, additionally I also achieved another A at As level in Further Maths. My AS physics grade was the best in my year achieving. 296/300 UMS. I have participated in the UK maths challenge achieving the bronze and silver award.

Teaching Experience:

I helped teach many students from younger years in a range of subjects and enjoyed watching them progress and improve. I think the fact that having just been through what most of these students are going through gives me a slight advantage due to my knowledge being recent and up to date. I also have experience in teaching A-level Maths as well as GCSE Maths.

Tutoring Approach:

I am patient and calm in my approach and try to ensure that each of my students understands the concepts of what I am teaching. I appreciate that each student is different and the approach taken to each of them must remain flexible.

Personal Description:
I am currently a Math student at University College London and I enjoy studying Mathematics in the fact that it is exact and definite. As much as I enjoy studying it, I also enjoy teaching Mathematics. I have skills and qualities which I think would make me a very good tutor; such as patience, knowledge and determination.

Teaching Experience:

Back in Secondary School and at Sixth Form, I would voluntarily spend hours helping my fellow class mates in topics they had difficulty with. This was not only enjoyable for me, but it was also fulfilling to see them walk out of the session with that little more knowledge and expertise, plus it helped me improve my teaching skills.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring would vary from person to person. I'd be flexible in teaching specific areas of the subject or take the time to teach the whole module in an orderly manner. Whichever way my client decides they want to be taught, rest assured they would getting good teaching value for their money. I believe in order to learn Mathematics, one needs to understand how and why it works rather than just using memorized formulas.

Personal Description:
I'm a recent graduate with both a BA and an MPhil in Philosophy from Cambridge University. I've taken A Levels in English, Mathematics, and History as well, and am very comfortable teaching all these subjects.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutoring experience at both A-Level and University level, in addition to experience with small group teaching at Cambridge University, where I taught first year undergraduates in classes of 10. At the other end of the spectrum, I have an 11 year old sister and am very used to helping her out with homework, and know the challenges involved in teaching young kids too.

Tutoring Approach:

I place a big focus on being friendly and approachable to students, to help make sure they feel relaxed, which I believe is very important for effective leaning. I like to make sure I understand where they are finding things challenging, and why, but also where they are succeeding, to build confidence by emphasising achievements as well as areas for improvement.

Personal Description:
My name is Cathy, I am a part-time student with the Open University (however I did my first year at Cardiff University) studying towards a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics. I've always enjoyed maths but know many students find it a daunting subject, so want to help as many people as I can find it less scary and find some fun in it!

When I'm not studying, I am a huge animal lover; I really enjoy horse riding and have a Labrador who I show and take training whenever I get the chance!

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring since April 2013, and also work as a GCSE tutor at one of the local colleges.

During my A-levels, I helped tutor some year 9 students in Maths for Brookvale High School for about 8 weeks. I helped them prepare for their SATs exam and the transition to GCSE level.
Also I worked as a manager in retail for 3 years so have experience of training and teaching my team of staff their tasks.

Tutoring Approach:

'You hear and you forget, you see and you remember, you do and you understand'
As the quote above says, students learn best when they do it themselves; I believe a good tutor helps guide a student patiently, giving them all the support they need without rushing them. I want to help students enjoy the subject rather than just doing it because they have to. Maths is such an important part of life, even though most people don't even notice how much they use it!

Personal Description:
I am a PhD oceanography postgraduate at the University of Southampton. I`m half Lebanese/half Brasilian staying in Southampton so I know 4 different languages. I`ve worked as a professional private tutor in sciences/math abroad for more than 4 years whereby I have tutored more than 120 school and university students. Subsequently, I`ve grown a firm grasp of what tutees of various classes, ages, and intellectual levels need and what approach should be abided by within progressive sessions according to how fast a tutee can learn. Nothing says more about a person than experience and you would get to know me better once we meet, hopefully. I almost always offer tutoring at homes as opposed to having the burden of travelling on the tutee. For more info on the subjects I offer please check my profile!

Teaching Experience:

I've worked as a private tutor for 5 years (2008-2012) with more than 120 teenagers ranging from 10 till secondary high school level at the ages of 18 and first two years of college. I've been tutoring in Maths/chemistry/physics/biology for ages 10-15 and mostly chemistry and biology for older students as my undergraduate studies were in Biology and chemistry, and my masters is in general Oceanography, which spans around chemistry, physics, and mostly biology too!

I've been tutoring for the past years out of passion to educate and transfer the knowledge to whomever is interested in retaining and and exceling at a certain subject. The subjects I offer are ones I've practiced before, be it in tutoring at a primary school/highschool level or practically in my Masters degree which include an interdisciplinary variety of subjects, mainly chemistry, biology and physics. With an undergrad of general biology accompanied with a long experience of chemical studies I can assure you you'll be satisfied with the value-for-price that you are paying.

Tutoring Approach:

I will generally take the first meeting to get to know the learner and talk with them one on one about their needs and their perception of their needs. If the learner is a child I will then talk to their parents separately about their child`s needs and behavior toward learning and general attitude toward an academic environment. I take personalized care of each student of mine, tailoring each experience depending on the need. I will generally find supplementary material to work with the student in tutor time. Again, I will do this depending on the particular situation of the tutee. I will be there to help complete homework, provide additional less or more rigorous material, provide study skills, help study, provide writing skills and practice, language immersion, progress reports for parents and teachers for child tutees, and most importantly a constant helping and supportive contact for those in need of help at any time. I take great care of my students as a tutor and my unwavering goal is to help students grow and learn academically and personally and give them the tools to maintain these skills, be it through their next exam or their life. Tutoring and helping is my passion and my utilitarian approach to tutoring is varying based on each individual`s needs but is based upon unwavering and constant support.

Personal Description:
I am an extremely enthusiastic and determined individual, with a deep interest in mathematics and the allied sciences. To this end, I have participated in many Olympiads and have attended several maths and physics masterclasses in London, as well as two summer schools.

I'd enjoy the opportunity of tutoring at GCSE and A-level as I am not only confident at these stages, but enjoy breaking down concepts into their simplest forms, a skill I initially found challenging when I first started tutoring.

I am currently studying maths at Christ`s College, Cambridge. I therefore have a solid grounding in both maths and physics, which is constantly being refreshed and challenged!

Teaching Experience:

Tutored both A-level and GCSE maths over a period of 6 months last year.

Tutored my cousins in GCSE physics and chemistry 2 years ago.

Ran economics 'help sessions' for my school's economics society

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring must be adapted for different styles and levels. I have tutored a range of students previously, and understand that different people learn at different rates, and in very different ways. I would look firstly to cement the basic concepts so that students have a firm grasp of each topic area. I then try to challenge the students as much as possible, to allow the tutee to gain confidence whilst constantly recapping on the basics.

Maths and science subjects must be tackled with significant practice - multiple questions on similar topics allows students to consolidate their learning and see the links between topics.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm a student at the University of Cambridge studying Theology, and I love helping people achieve their full potential and making learning fun!

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching the piano for four years, and I have experience of teaching both children and adults. I am able to design my own programme for a student, and to teach from scratch, as well as work with an existing framework such as school exams .

Tutoring Approach:

I always try to prioritise the aims and wishes of the student in my tutoring. If a certain approach isn't working because the student isn't enjoying it, I can work round to find something that they can connect with better. However, I do also know the importance of less enjoyable, more disciplined work that is necessary for improvement. I strongly believe that the most important part of doing well at a subject is finding its fun and fascinating side, and I will do my best to be an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher.
