| Personal Description: I am currently employed at Brecon High School where I have taught Science at Key Stages 3 & 4 and currently specialise in teaching students with English as an Additional Language. This has provided me with further experience of tutoring foreign students in Science and Maths at KS3, GCSE and A Level. |
Teaching Experience: I began teaching in 2001, qualified as a Science teacher who specialises in Physics. I have been successful in raising standards of attainment in both the key stage 3 and GCSE classes I have taught. As a tutor, I have successfully supported many pupils, with all previous tutees having achieved their expected grade or better, for both Science and Mathematics disciplines. I have also tutored primary school pupils and an adult returning to GCSE studies. My previous teaching posts are as follows: William Edwards School, Grays, Essex 2001 - 2004 St Cleres School, Stanford-le-Hope, Essex 2004 - 2006 Pencoed Comprehensive School, Bridgend April 2006 - Dec 2006 Porthcawl Comprehensive School Jan - April 2007 Brecon High School April 2008 - present I have been contracted to mark exam papers for a major examing board and last year I was promoted to team leader, overseeing the exam marking for a number of examiners. This has provided me with a high level of expertise of the examination system and the demands of candidates, something that I am able to use effectively as a tutor. I have gained a great deal of experience of teaching pupils with SEN at Brecon High School. |
Tutoring Approach: I set realistic targets for the students I tutor and am wholly committed to their success. I provide my own resources and will come to the students home to provide lessons. I have an excellent relationship with students and have been asked to continue tutoring on to A Level for some students. I look to identify students weaknesses and focus on developing those areas, along with coaching on how to perform well in examinations. |

| Personal Description: In my job as a teacher I deal with every aspect of the Italian language, literature and culture. On the bases of my experience I can say that I am a very passionate, self motivated and hard working person and regarding my job I find it a very satisfying profession that enables me to work and contribute to the growth of amazing people. |
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching Italian for the past four years in a variety of educational settings within the UK and in my own country including primary and secondary schools and adult education. I am currently working as Italian teacher for a primary school. In my current position I am responsible for an after- school Italian club where I provide a variety of interesting activities including songs, games, vocabulary and exercises for 4- 10 years old children. In addition, I have introduced a bilingual learning project in which geography and other subjects are taught through Italian. Movement is also another interesting element I use for teaching Italian language: students listen carefully to instructions in Italian, and respond physically by performing the task. In this way movements become naturally associated with words and the children then use the vocabulary in different contexts in the class. As you can see from my CV, I hold a BA (Hons) degree in Modern Language and Literature where Italian language and literature is the main subject. In my teaching profession I have experienced a variety of roles including working as Italian teacher for Communicaid which is one of the largest providers of adult education in the UK. My position involved providing foreign language training solutions to corporate and public institutions by delivering language and culture training to either small or large groups. |
Tutoring Approach: Teaching the four skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) Italian for Law and Insurance Italian for Business, Commercial Correspondence and Secretarial Purposes Italian for Medical Purposes and Tourism Using different teaching resources, like textbooks, songs, flashcards and audio- visual materials (internet, tape, video) Introducing a cultural component into the language teaching using history, geography and art. Using ICT can accelerate and improve learning in adult education by stimulating the learner with more enjoyable and creative activities. I use multimedia at every stage of education by tailoring and selecting learning resources to meet the particular needs of each student. The learning tools I use for online teaching are a presentation software such as Microsoft Power Point and a Word- processing software such as Microsoft Word. I find Power Point very useful for introducing new vocabulary or creating lessons that combine text, sound, video, still and moving graphics. My adult students are able to understand, appreciate and critique visual texts where they can explore the images and design elements with the teacher. As I also work as a private Italian tutor, internet has become an essential medium of professional contact and communication with my students. Many of them prefer distance learning by using Skype and the videoconference. In this way, learning a language becomes a dynamic activity where the students can work together by using a collaborative approach getting to know eachother. At primary level I use ICT to introduce colouring activities with young children as well as ordering numbers activities where numbers are putted in the correct order and some shared writing, where the class can write a story together with contributions from every child. |

| Personal Description: Since leaving Cardiff University in 1999 I have had several bi-lingual roles in London and France as an Executive Assistant culminating in a Human Resources managerial position in France. Having spent 5 years near Annecy, myself, my French husband and our two bi-lingual children are now located in a village in South Gloucestershire, a short drive from the Aztec West Business Park in Almondsbury. |
Teaching Experience: I very much enjoy teaching and I think this is an extremely important factor that does filter through to the students that I teach. I currently teach small groups of 3-11 year olds with their parents. I have taught English in a primary school in France during my gap year and since having my own children have been teaching as and when time permits. |
Tutoring Approach: All classes are tailor made to the clients needs. It is very important everyone is made to feel very at ease and relaxed. Every question is answered and encouraged. My goal as a teacher is to equip all my students with the skills to use the French language efficiently and confidently, after all confidence is everything as far as languages are concerned. Finally and most importantly the lessons must be enjoyable! |

| Personal Description: I have always had a great love of learning and then passing on everything I have learned to others, one of the reasons I will be enrolling into a PGCE course next year. I graduated from QUB with a B.A in history July 08, I believe because I am close to their age I find it easy to build a good relationship with those I am tutoring. History is my especial interest, both in modern and ancient periods and I spend much of my free time reading to increase my background knowledge of various periods of History, I am also currently studying for my fifth A-Level, in Geography. |
Teaching Experience: For the past few years I have been tutoring friends of the family, and last year I tutored several 1st year university students. I have volunteered at both primary and secondary levels as a classroom assistant. I also worked at Larne Museum voluntarily. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe in building a less rigid relationship with my pupils in order for them to be less reluctant to interact or approach me with questions. I will cover class assignments, further reading perhaps not covered in class, practice exam questions to which I will go over the answer in detail with the student. |
