| Personal Description: I am an enthusiastic teacher keen to spend quality time with children to ensure that they feel confident in their understanding of all the primary subjects. |
Teaching Experience: I have worked in both a large multi-cultural school where standards were below the national expectations, in addition I am currently working in a village school where expectations are higher than the national average. I can communicate with children and give them the power to believe in themselves! |
Tutoring Approach: I approach tutoring in a fun and light hearted way to allow natural learning to take place without a lot of pressure being put on the children. The use of ICT and hands on games and activities helps to consolidate children's understanding of the subject. |

| Personal Description: Hello! I recently moved to London from Boston to take a TEFL (Teachers of English as a Foreign Language) certification course and further pursue my music performance and/or musicology career. I am a graduate of The Boston Conservatory of Music with a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance. |
Teaching Experience: Music Tutoring/Teaching experience: Private Voice Instructor: 3 years German and English Diction Tutor: 2 years Music History Tutor: 2 years English as a Foreign Language experience: Currently completing teaching practice for Winsdsor Schools TEFL course |
Tutoring Approach: I believe that a combination of listening and individualized response/approach is what makes my tutoring very effective. I feel that students need a warm and supportive environment in their tutoring sessions, especially because it can be very frusterating when you have to spend extra time on a difficult subject. However, tutoring doesn't have to be tedious, it can be efficient and even fun! |

| Personal Description: I am a friendly, happy, relaxed tutor who is very patient, calm and understanding. I have a good sense of humour, something very useful when trying to help students feel at ease and also when trying to explain different areas or problems that students may be struggling with. |
Teaching Experience: September 2009 - April 2010-03-20 Primary School Teacher at Kings Hedges School, Northfield Avenue, Cambridge, CB4 2HU September 2002- July 2003 Spanish Associate Lecturer at the Open University, Cintra House, Hills Rd, Cambridge September 1999 - September 2002 English Teacher (All levels), Private Tuition in Cambridge, England. September 1997- September 2002 Spanish Teacher (All levels), Private Tuition in Cambridge, England. September 1999 - June 2000 Spanish Teacher (Beginner level), Collegio Sestante, Pavia, Italy. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is basically a flexible approach to the needs of the student. Some students learn better with a visual approach whether other students respond better to an auditory or perhaps a kinesthetic approach so it is just a question of finding out what preferences students have when they do their learning and adapt accordingly. If students are finding something difficult, we need to look at the problem from a different angle and see if that helps. If it doesn't, we can try another angle or we go back to basics, whatever is more helpful to the student. |

| Personal Description: Although I have been in England for 20 years now (I am 44), all my family are still in France, which means I make regular visits. I am a French tutor, as well as a journalist and a reader for 2 French magazines published in the UK. My jobs require that I stay in touch with everything that happens in France and in the francophone world, whilst my teenage children ensure I know the English curriculum well. |
Teaching Experience: I have taught adults and children for many years in Melbourne (Aus), London and Tunbridge Wells, in various schools and at home, individuals and groups, and I still love it! Before completing my degree in Modern Languages Studies, I attended various training courses on the multiple aspects of language teaching. |
Tutoring Approach: I pride myself in designing the best possible tailor-made course for each of my students, so that their needs may be met without delay. I use an array of ressources (real texts, DVDs, cassettes, textbooks, Internet, discussions, role-plays, etc...) in order to progress and keep the lessons interesting, motivating and relevant. Most sessions take place in my home in Tunbridge Wells, however I am prepared to travel to your home or office if necessary, as long as the distance is not too great. For convenience you might prefer lessons via Skype (with camera). I generally send my students some material to study prior to the meeting, in order to maximise learning in the session. Skype lessons are priced 30/hour |

| Personal Description: I am a science graduate of the University of Salford. I have worked professionally as an Environmental Health Officer for some 12 yrs plus. I enjoy reading and researching articles on science fiction. My children call me a space freak because of the endless hours spent surfing the web on 'space sites' looking up the recent cassini mission to saturn and the latest rendezvous of the various space probes with a number of asteroids such as the joint European e.g 'esa' and NASA missions. I've been further intrigued by the Japanese space probe mission to a near earth asteroid which not only safely touched down on the asteroid but was able to collect some dust from its cratered surface and safely head back to earth. Its incredible the feats and strides scientists have taken in the last 50 years and to know that I will be educating some of the scientists of tomorrow and who knows maybe an astronaut who'll look back one day at his lessons and say that's where it first started for me. |
Teaching Experience: I have some 7 yrs private/school teaching experience which I've found particularly enjoyable and rewarding. I have taught privately in my own home as well as in the clients setting. I have experience of teaching predominantly science subjects between KS2 to A2 levels. I enjoy teaching science on a one to one level and to groups of two or three. I believe tutoring on a personal level is not only enjoyable but motivates me to educate the tutee to a standard which reflects his/her interests. I find tutoring children on a personal level enables them to take in far more information which is retained by them for a much longer time span. |
Tutoring Approach: With every new student, I try to identify from the onset, their strengths and weaknesses. By focusing on their weaknesses, I try to build on them, regularly giving them tests on topics covered and giving the pupils my ideas on exam preparation and technique has proven to be an excellent way of attaining high marks in their final exams. I am aware of the parental pressures put on students to perform and do well, and I am fully capable of bringing out the best of the individuals abilities. I am a caring, friendly and sensitive tutor with a great passion for sciences particularly chemistry and physics. I am enthusiastic about teaching science and have a workable exam preparation and technique built into lessons which works exceptionally well. I also ensure any handouts given out along with course notes and test papers are properly filed in a folder. I recommend the use of flash cards as an aide me moire of the topics covered again filed in the folder along with all other notes. I recommend to those students who have access to a PC and the Internet to contact me via e-mail at no extra cost with any questions on any of the topics covered in previous lessons. I will endeavour to drop them a line with a worked example whether online or offline. I've found by doing this, that it further strengthens the bond between my students. From past testimonials I've received, its evident most of my tutees enjoy my caring and reflective style and the results speak for themselves.. |
