Personal Description:
I am a dedicated science tutor who will provide tailored tuition for your child to excel.

Currently studying Biomedical Science BSc at King's College London, I have settled for nothing but the best during my studies, having achieved the top "A" grade in Mathematics, Human Biology, Physical Education and Psychology at A-Level or higher. For my AS-Level Physical Education result, I achieved one of the top 10 worldwide scores, with a commendation from the Chief Examiner of Edexcel. Furthermore, I obtained 7 "A*" and 3 "A" grades at GCSE.

Teaching Experience:

I have three years experience tutoring 15-19 year olds in Biology, Mathematics and Physical Education, ranging from GCSEs to A-Levels. In addition, I also have five years experience coaching children (and adults) in football and trampolining.

During this time, I've taught hundreds of children ranging from 6-19, and wholeheartedly understand that being approachable, patient and friendly is essential for any child to excel.

Tutoring Approach:

I pride myself on a student-centred approach to tutoring in which my tutee is actively engaged, rather than just passively listening, with as wide a range of resources provided as possible. This enables a subject to be approached from all angles, and will without doubt make it more interesting to learn also.

As a football and trampoline coach with over 5 years experience working with children one-to-one, I understand that being approachable, patient and friendly is essential for any child to excel.

As I have a firm grasp of the accredited specifications of the examining bodies, your child will always be taught the relevant material, using a wide range of resources including (where possible) interactive websites, vibrant textbooks and past papers.

My student-centred approach, with top-quality teaching, is why every one of my students has always improved by at least one grade in their exams. I also offer ample time to discuss your child's progress, with references and qualifications available upon request.

Personal Description:
I am a 27 years old male from the region Almeria in Spain. I have studied French-Spanish Translation and Interpretation in the University of Granada (Spain), I then did a teaching training course in Spain (CAP) in 2006 and worked as a Spanish assistant in France at a secondary college for two years. I realised there I wanted to be a Spanish teacher because I really enjoyed the experience. Currently, I am a Spanish teacher in Birmingham in a Sixth Form College.

My main interests are lecturing, travelling, cultural activities (theatre, literature, etc) and some sports like football, jogging and trekking and I also have a love of nature.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked in Montpellier (France) as a Spanish assistant for two years, giving me the opportunity to work with students of all ages and at differentiated levels. The most important task for a foreign language assistant is teaching the communicative skills in any language, therefore, this is an area in which I encourage progression. Working with secondary students in Spain allowed me to develop my teaching skills further.

Tutoring Approach:

I have taught Spanish and French to students of all ages and at all levels and I always adapt my way of teaching to my students' needs and intentions. That is very important. I like my students enjoy my lessons but also learn useful skills in french or Spanish. I find using cultural and current issues in media to encourage interest. I structure my lessons to allow students to be involved in auditory, practical and written work to cater for all types of learners.

Personal Description:
I have a long experience giving private lessons. The main subjects I have taught in the past are Spanish, French (both my native languages) and philosophy (having recently graduated from a second MA in Paris with honors). Although I am not a native English speaker, I have recently taken the IELTS exam, and almost achieved a perfect score (8.5).

Teaching Experience:

I have prepared many people for important French examinations (such as the acceptance to Sciences-Po) with a fair amount of success. I have also had many foreign students from the Sorbonne who wanted to improve their academic results.
Although I have usually given lessons to adults and university students, I have a fair amount of experience with high school pupils.

Tutoring Approach:

I have worked many times as a translator, which, I think, has always given my lessons a different approach to teaching a foreign language. I tend to work extensively on literary texts with my students, always giving priority to their personal preferences.

Personal Description:
I have recently graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in English Literature. I am a friendly, honest and flexible person, with a true passion for literature.

Teaching Experience:

Aiding in the construction of personal statements for University entrance applications
AS Level English Literature
Essay construction technique for first year undergraduates

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in dialogue as well as instruction and so encourage the active participation of pupils; the sharing of ideas to achieve a deeper understanding of a given text.
I feel it is important that the student's own interpretations are incorporated into the framework of a session, to stimulate both their literary technique, their creative imagination and their analytical skills. I do, however, provide documents with important information and extra reading if necessary, to support study.
Above all, I believe tutoring should encourage both a relaxed yet productive atmosphere, allowing a pupil to develop and refine their own ideas and interpretations. I hope my sessions are instructive, fun, and inspire confidence.

Work well with students of all ages and backgrounds

Tutoring Approach:

I'm a very friendly and approachable person. I believe tutoring is as much about confidence building as learning. I will help you in a very constructive and supportive manner.

I wish to approach tutoring by first identifying the areas in which you need some extra help, taking the concepts to the basics then diligently work our way up to the level required to ensure a complete understanding of the subject.

I don't simply focus on passing the exam and nothing else. I want to make sure that you gain a true understanding and make exams nothing to worry about.

Personal Description:
I am bilingual in French and English. I grew up in France and always spoke English to my Father. After my baccalaureat I moved to London where I did a joint degree in the school of oriental and african studies, university of london. I thus have a deep understanding of both languages, including of the implications of specific lexisons. I also work as a translator, most recently to translate a PhD thesis in English and texts related to disability, thus to the very different meanings attached to an understanding of the body.
I have studied German at school in France for eight years and traveled there several times, thus giving me a good knowledge of the language. I always liked this language and thus remember it well and I understand and can explain the grammar, conjugaison and sentence structure up until GCSE level.
I also learnt Italian at school and had a keen interest in it. I lived in Florence during my gap year, visit friends there and still speak the language well. I know the functionning of the language and can thus teach it up to GCSE level.

Teaching Experience:

I started working as a tutor when I was in high school. One of my pupils was a 14-year-old boy experiencing real difficulties in maths. We worked together for almost a year and his level progressed a lot, he started to recieve good results in school quite quickly. I also helped an 11-year-old girl with her homework, yet whilst focusing on Spanish. Although I have never learnt that language, I would help her concentrate and find the time for homework.
I worked in a secondary school in North London as a teaching assistant in French lessons. I started as part of the student associate sheme therefore my time there was limited by the program. Nonetheless the MFL staff asked me several times if I would continue there and gave me very positive feedback on my work. This allowed me to find techniques to interest students in a topic they had real difficulties in.

Tutoring Approach:

It is central to find a way to interest a pupil in a subject, thus rather than arriving with a fixed program I like to engage with what the pupil needs or likes, be it music, poems, conversations, books or articles. Languages are alive and dynamic but I believe in being able to talk it as well as read and write. This, whilst introducing vocabulary, grammar and conjugaison. I am patient and understand that repetition is the key. I will thus give short excercices for people to do in their own time so as to critalise what the lesson introduced. The following lesson will also have start with a short overview of what has been acquired to that date

Personal Description:
I am currently studying a degree in Psychology through the Open University. I am in my third year and specialise in child psychology. To complement my studies I work in various paid and unpaid roles. I work as a tutor. I regularly work as a nanny and babysitter for a few local families. I volunteer with the Youth Offending Team and also the North Tyneside Mentor Project. And, I deliver charity bags on behalf of the YMCA.

At North Tyneside Youth Offending Team I work as a voluntary Panel Leader for Referral Order Meetings. These meetings focus on the impact of the crime on the victim, encourage the young person to understand and accept responsibility for what they have done, agree interventions for the young person that match risk and to draw up a contract through discussion and negotiation between all parties. Monitoring progress and compliance to the contact is continued at regular follow up meetings. It is my responsibility to facilitate the meetings, make sure the process is fair, inclusive and focused and to make sure the contract is fair relevant and realistic.

At The Mentor Project I have been paired with two young people, both of which have been extremely productive and rewarding relationships. I act as a positive role model, provide encouragement and advice and boost the confidence and self esteem of the young person through engaging in productive and character building activities on a regular weekly basis. We have developed a great trusting bond and have enjoyed activities such as bowling, visiting the blue reef aquarium, St. Mary's lighthouse, Newcastle Cat & Dog Shelter and the Centre For Life as well as creative sessions where we customised our own Easter eggs. I also attend Care Order and Educational meetings as a representative for the young person and support for them and their family.

I consider myself friendly and out going, confident and ambitious. I have excellent communication skills both written and oral. I am hard working, responsible, flexible and enthusiastic. I am self motivated, articulate and professional. I possess excellent numeracy and problem solving skills and I have the ability to multi task.

I am determined to excel in everything I do and I'm always seeking a challenge.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience is mainly down to my own life experience and my passion for knowledge. I believe the social communication of knowledge is the best way to learn as well as teach and forms a part of all our everyday lives.
I tutor mathematics, science and french up to GCSE level. At GCSE level I achieved grade As for these subjects as well as excellent grades for all my other subjects. I then went on to achieve three grade Cs for Mathematics, Chemistry and Law at A level. I then studied a degree in Management Accountancy.
Through my nanny work and mentoring I have gained the most teaching experience.

Tutoring Approach:

I consider myself to have a natural affinity with children and young people. I find it very easy to communicate with them and create a friendly, relaxed and productive teaching environment. I feel that building the child's self confidence through positive encouragement and motivation generates excellent performance and attitude to studies.
My teaching style is always suited to the individual depending on subject, age, ability and personality. I never criticise errors or mistakes, I always encourage the individual to review any mistakes and when possible work out the correct answer themselves as well as ensuring understanding of how they reached the correct answer.
