Personal Description:
I'm a young, hardworking and dedicated secondary school Science teacher. Since graduating from University in 2009, I have been working with young people in various contexts; coaching trampolining, working abroad as an ESL teacher, private tutoring, and upon completion of my PGCE, working as a teacher in a highly successful Lancaster comprehensive school. Energetic, approachable, and confident, I'm able to relate well to young people.

In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit and exploring the outdoors. I'm passionate about the environment and have been involved in various conservation and wildlife projects both locally and further afield. In my school holidays I enjoy travelling around the world and love meeting new people.

Teaching Experience:

Successful completion of PGCE in summer 2014 and immediate permanent employment at Ripley St Thomas Church of England Academy as a Science teacher. I have been teaching the new Science curriculum at KS3 (years 7 and 8), AQA dual Science GCSE in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and the new 2016 curriculum to triple award Biology GCSE.

Private Maths tutoring for students completing GCSE's in 2010; all of whom showed excellent progress and went on to achieve their target grade.

1 year teaching English language to a range of ages (5 - adult) and abilities (beginner - intermediate) in Vietnam including one-to-one home tutoring.

Volunteer placements in Cambodia and the Philippines teaching underpriviledged children English and Marine Biology.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel it's important to make my lessons interesting, challenging and enjoyable for all students. Lessons should always be well structured, using tailored resources closely linked to the curriculum under study. I believe students should work hard and be active in their learning; during my years of study and teaching I have gathered a wide range of resources and activities that build in difficulty to make this possible.

I'm flexible in my approach to tutoring as I'm aware that the needs of different students will vary greatly and will change over the course of tuition. As a general guide, I will:

1) Identify key problem areas with students prior to their first session
2) Compile a short, concise list of learning objectives giving greater emphasis on addressing these areas
3) Work through objectives using the current curriculum tailored to the students' individual learning style
4) Summarise and check off learning objectives with the student, addressing misconceptions if and when they arise
5) Recommend any extra reading/work to enhance students understanding (also giving homework when this would be beneficial)

Personal Description:
Professional electronics engineer with 30 years experience. Have wide experience using maths and science in the real world. Also very good writing and communication skills. Very understanding about how people learn and patient with people who have difficulty in some areas.

Teaching Experience:

Have done private tutoring for over five years including with work colleagues and college students. I have also been involved with schools science clubs and have an enhanced CRB check in place.

Tutoring Approach:

Relaxed, friendly, no pressure. Students are encouraged to get stuck in, have a go and not worry about making mistakes. Making mistakes is a very powerful learning tool and should not be regarded as an indicator of ability or non-achievement. Learning must be fun and self rewarding.

Personal Description:
I have a degree in Physics from the University of Nottingham and have taught Science in schools for over 8 years. I have a wide variety of teaching experience, from teaching English as a foreign language to a small group of 6 year olds, to teaching A level Physics in college. I love teaching and especially enjoy seeing students progress, become more confident and gain a real interest and love of the subject.

Teaching Experience:

I have now been tutoring for over 3 years, helping many students to gain the grades they require in their GCSE and A level exams for Science and Maths.

Previously, I spent 7 years living in Thailand where I taught both England (as a foreign language) and Science in an International Program at one of the top government schools. I also taught English, Maths and Science as a tutor, both on a one-to-one basis and to small groups.

I gained a PGCE in Secondary Science from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2009 and worked as a supply teacher in a number of secondary schools in the Cheshire area before becoming a full time tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to encourage a love of the subject and take great joy in seeing students progress and become successful. I try to be friendly and supportive whilst also striving for excellent results. I try to make sessions interesting and informative by personalising the work to centre around the interests and needs of the individual student and by making use of ICT resources.

Personal Description:
I am currently a third year medical student from the University of Newcastle but I have also graduated in Human Sciences from the University of Durham back in 2007. During the holidays I live in London. I have a wealth of experience working with children and teenagers from being a Christmas grotto host at Harrods to volunteering at Great Ormond Street Hospital for over a year.

My work ethic when I was younger was not as disciplined as it is now and I am aware of the difficulties that students can face when it comes to learning new concepts and hope to help tutees overcome these barriers.

Having applied to grammar school, university and medical school I am aware of all the application processes and interviewing processes.

I am outgoing and to keep active I play hockey for my local club and my university college.

Teaching Experience:

I have helped younger family members to grasp ideas and offer new ways of learning if they were struggling. I have had job roles in the past training new employees up and feel this is a mode of teaching.

I would like to extend my higher knowledge to helping students achieve top grades in their GCSE's and A-levels

Within my current course we have peer to peer teaching which has proved to be a very effective learning tool.

Tutoring Approach:

Different individuals have different learning styles, I for one am more visual. I would try to get an understanding of how the tutee learns best, and encourage them to engage in activities that would help them. For instance, if they are visual learners then get them to draw things out.

Encouragement and patience is of great importance and listening to the needs of the individual.

My role as a tutor would be to guide and encourage the tutee to reach their educational and professional goals.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced industrial chemist, having postdoctoral experience with Avecia and GSK. I then retrained as a teacher and have taught at all levels from school to University. My experience covers A-levels and Advanced Higher. I have six years teaching experience, which includes 3 years at FE colleges, 1 year at University and 2 years at secondary school. As a home tutor and online tutor I have two years experience. Some of my students needed A's to enter Medicine or veterinary medicine. With my help they pulled their grades up to get this. Other students just wanted to pass and sometimes they surprised themselves by getting B's. I have taught dyslexic students as they were struggling with traditional teaching at school or college. My visual and imaginative teaching style has helped many of these students. In fact this approach helps all my students. Based in France I am limited to online tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience of teaching in schools, colleges and University. My experience covers A-Levels, HND, HNC and University. I also specialize in private tuition which I enjoy very much. Many tutors are students or graduates who do not have teacher training. I am a professional educator who provides quality tutoring at very reasonable rates.

Tutoring Approach:

All my students get a tailored learning approach and regular feedback at the end of each tutoring session. Underpinning my tutoring is exam preparation. Students are coached to understand the marking process. During the tutorial session students work hard by solving problems and formulating their own conclusions. In fact I work on the principle "don't tell teach". In first tuition I will provide proof of qualifications. With advances in technology online tuition provides an excellent alternative to home tutoring. I can talk to students face to face via skype. We can also communicate via an online white board (its online so you have nothing to install on your computer). All you need is a computer, internet, skype and a micro. I will give a short free trial tutorial before paid tutorials. If you are not satisfied we part company no obligation.

Personal Description:
After completing my D.Phil from the University of Oxford, I worked for 7 years as a Senior Biologist for a small drug discovery company where I was responsible for screening new drug targets in tissue models for human disease. Over the years I've had so many comments from students/colleagues about my ability to break subjects down to ease understanding, and coupled with my passion for science and sharing that with others I decided to change career and become a full-time science tutor. I've never looked back!

I am also a freelance examiner for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) - examining is invaluable to my role as a science tutor and to the development of my students' abilities in preparation for their examinations. It has taught me to understand the very specific focus of each syllabus as a whole, to read for the specific aim of relevant text, and to concentrate not just on surface comprehension but to expand science beyond basic skills.

I have many hobbies but particularly enjoy outdoor pursuits including: sailing, mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking and running. Most of my free time though is spent with my wonderful husband and beautiful tots!

Teaching Experience:

During my time researching at Oxford, I tutored an array of students in Biochemistry, Biology, Genetics, Human Science and Medicine.

I have vast tutoring experience at both GCSE, AS/A2 level covering all UK exam specifications, including IB.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring style is informal, working with each student to improve their approach to learning whilst maintaining motivation. At the end of the day, learning should be fun!

I usually charge a very small travel fee to cover the cost of fuel.

Personal Description:
18/03 - Please note that on UK Tutors as both student and tutor to pay a fee before addresses can be exchanged. I have had quite a few people think that I profit from this fee but I really do not, I too have to pay a fee between 10-20.

In 2012, I completed my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Genetics from the University of Nottingham and in 2015, I completed my masters in Psychology. I have been an enthusiastic learner since a young age and hope that through my lessons, my students will also develop a passion and interest in the subjects I teach. I am looking to hopefully teach A-level students that require help to get a better grade. I am also happy to teach younger students.

I have taught Biology and Chemistry up to A-level standards across the most popular exam boards since graduating in 2012. As a result, I have an endless number of exam questions, worksheets and booklets to give to students from day one of teaching. I believe in learning little over a long period of time and working out a strong revision technique. Whilst, I wish all my students can achieve A/A* grades, hard work, motivation and revision are the key tools to achieve high grades, a tutor should only be a tool in your learning, not someone you rely on completely. Whilst I understand that my prices are high, I believe I am also fair. I don`t mind if students stay for longer than an hour if needed and am always happy to reply to emails for homework help.

In terms of future careers, I will be completing my PGCE in Secondary School Chemistry in the coming academic year and would like to eventually become an educational psychologist.

Since graduating in September 2015, I work as a teaching assistant in the Milton Keynes area, in particular in special needs schools, which means I am generally free after 3pm to teach students.

With regard to my CRB check, I was checked by Stoke Mandeville Hospital in 2013.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in total, over 20 students studying GCSE and A-level Biology/Chemistry/Maths on either AQA or OCR exam boards.

I teach Sunday to Thursday from 4pm to 9pm

Please note, I am happy to offer the first lesson free of charge for long term students, if it is only one lesson you need, then please make this known to me. The first hour is generally a "get to know me" session and finding out what areas the student wants to work on.

Tutoring Approach:

After teaching solidly since November 2012, I have been able to further develop my teaching skills. To begin, I start with revision techniques, worksheets and make new, very detailed, class/revision notes with my students. After developing a solid understanding, I begin with exam questions as I have been able to collect a solid amount of questions (exam and school questions). Every lesson, I print out worksheets and notes for my students as well as give them homework. Essentially, what I offer are school lessons that are more detailed and focused than what they receive in school. Through these methods, I am able to thoroughly assess a student's abilities, increase them and hopefully better their grades. However, I stress, students must work hard themselves to achieve good grades.

Parents often ask me about discount, I am happy to discuss this for long-term students and 2 hours lessons

Personal Description:
I am currently studying for a post graduate certificate in education, specialising Science teaching at Oxford University. I graduated with a 2:1 in Physics at Oxford last year. I thoroughly enjoy learning and teaching alike and I feel I have combined that love in my future career as a Science teacher.
Due to my studies, I am in England for the majority of the year but live in Northern Ireland all Christmas, Easter and the months of July and August.

Teaching Experience:

I was involved in the tutor scheme at Ballyclare High School when I attended, where I worked with 1st to 3rd years with their science and maths.
I have been working with UK tutors for over a year and already helped numerous pupils across secondary school age.
I was awarded the Scott Prize for Teaching Physics in Schools when I took it as one of my options during my degree.
I am currently studying for my PGCE at Oxford University and have had teaching placements at North Oxfordshire Academy and Cheney School. I am due to start a teaching job in September at Wren Academy, Finchley.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a friendly and patient tutor. I find the more enjoyable a subject is the easier it is to remember. I find working through questions is the best way to apply knowledge.

Personal Description:
I am a former primary and secondary school teacher, mainly teaching all the science subjects. I have tutored my son and daughter in the science subjects straight from KS3 through to A-level, especially in biology. Therefore, I have gained extensive knowledge of the sciences, covering a range of exam boards, and also experienced first hand the exam technique needed to achieve the target grade. I would like to transfer this knowledge of biology and revision methods to others who need it, and I am committed to encouraging students to achieve the best grades possible.

I am extremely familiar with the GCSE biology syllabuses and regularly remain up to date with changes in specification and exam dates.

I can also do Maths tutoring for those at the primary school level, and Hindi language tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

Currently tutoring multiple students in primary level maths and english, and also GCSE Biology

I like to take an interactive approach to the lessons, where topics are taught through quizzes and questions, which allows me to identify topics the student might find challenging. I explain subjects comprehensively, and often recommend making revision posters as a good way to remember a lot of information, especially with GCSE level subjects.
I also enjoy tutoring younger children of infant and primary level in literacy and numeracy.

Academic Background

A-levels in Maths (A plus S1), Further Maths (B), Physics (A plus S2), and Chemistry (B), taken in 1984.
MA in Computer Science with Mathematics from Cambridge University in 1987.
Qualified as a Chartered Accountant (with the ICAEW) in 1990.

Career Summary

I worked as an accountant for 30 years, culminating in a role as Chief Financial Officer of Ireland's largest insurance company. I have worked with UK and European regulators, and was responsible for managing a multi-billion pound investment portfolio. I worked as a freelance senior finance manager for two years, in the City of London.

Recently I decided to have a career change, and become a secondary school (GCSE and A-Level) teacher, in the Science Department, specialising in Physics. Before starting my teacher training in September 2017 I am spending a term working as a cover teacher, across all subjects and covering Year 7 (11-year olds) through Year 13 (18-year olds).

Personal Details

I live in rural Northamptonshire, and am very excited about my new career. I have a DBS (criminal records check) allowing me to work unsupervised with children. I enjoy travelling, cultural tourism and cooking. I am a non-smoker.

Teaching Experience:

While working as an accountant, I set up and ran the company's trainee accounting scheme and have always enjoyed teaching and coaching, from basic levels to delivering training for Boards of Directors.

I enjoy teaching and coaching my 14-year old daughter, and have some experience coaching primary school Maths (in preparation for Year 6 SATs). I felt called to teaching and have changed careers to enable this. I have recent experience teaching secondary school classes, but enjoy 1:1 coaching very much. I am easy to get on with and can establish good rapport with my students very quickly.

My formal teacher training starts in September 2017, but my life experience and subject matter knowledge make me well suited to the role of tutor. I am largely skewed towards numerical subjects, but am also fastidious in my use of English grammar and writing, due to having spent thirty years providing high quality reports to senior and junior colleagues.

Tutoring Approach:

I very much prefer to work using the syllabus and textbooks with which the student is already familiar, as it can be very confusing to be taught different approaches by a school and by a tutor. If textbooks are unavailable (many schools do not allow textbooks to be taken home), I can probably source them, but at the student/parent's expense.

My style is very engaging, and I seek to understand how my students view the subject, and work with them to fill in any gaps and increase student confidence. I don't like giving rote lessons, which I think are dry and little better than reading the textbook. I really enjoy bringing a subject alive by relating the topic to the real world, and by including interesting facts and information.

Tutoring has to work both for the tutor and the student, and I will always try to make the lessons fun and stimulating. If I don't think the student is benefitting from my tuition, I will discuss this at an early stage. It makes no sense to press on with continued lessons if my approach or the student response is unsatisfactory.

I don't think that every student can become A* grade in every subject, but tuition can increase confidence, improve performance, reduce anxiety, and give a student the best possible chance of fulfilling their potential.

Personal Description:
I was born into a family of educators who instilled in me a love of learning.I earned my Bachelor of Engineering degree from Kerala University-India 2014, after that I have worked for 2 years in one of the leading Multi National Company called HCL Technologies Limited, India.

Teaching Experience:

I was a tutor for over 20 students in India.

Tutoring Approach:

I know the subjects concept, ideas and problems inside out. I can introduce the subjects to real life applications from my experience and knowledge that I've gained. I can make learning fun and can help to develop the core basement for the students. I can make learning relevant to student's interests, thus create more students who actually care about what they are learning.
I prefer to build a strong and intense relationship with students because I believe the personal relationship is the key to the student's success. The closer the student feels, the more respect and consideration the teacher earns. I always treat every student same because nobody in this world is lazy or not capable, it's the way that we find out the best in them is the key. I always listen and communicate early and often with parents, that helps me to map a better plan for success.
I always believe that lesson planning is important and this intuitively leads to student's success. For my session following points will be covered about the topic
1. Objective of the course
2. Introduction
3.Body of the course
4. Checks and Home Works
5. Conclusion
