| Personal Description: I have a PGCE in Primary education and also hold a Masters degree in History from the University of Edinburgh, which is one of the top universities in the world. I am a qualified primary teacher with experience of teaching in SAT's years 2 and 6. However, I currently teach Year 1 at an OFSTED rated outstanding school. My experience of teaching across the primary spectrum helps to inform my understanding of one to one tuition. |
Teaching Experience: Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in the financial world for a large UK bank and as such have a strong understanding of mathematics.I have worked with children in after school clubs and doing voluntary work long before I became a teacher. My previous background was working in the financial world after I graduated from University. I have experience of teaching across the primary spectrum using group and intervention methods as well as whole class. Similarly, I have experience of teaching children with SEN and behavioural issues this has fostered a calm yet assertive approach to teaching. |
Tutoring Approach: As I have taught many different age groups, I have experience spanning the entire primary spectrum. Similarly, I have experience of working with KS3 pupils through tuition. I am comitted to helping any tutees improve their skills in the desired subject area. I hope to inspire tutees to become life-long learners and to begin to enjoy their studies. The underlying principle guiding my teaching approach is that every child should be able to enjoy and achieve with their education and I emply a range of practical and written methods to aid this. |

| Personal Description: Im 22 ive been playing Piano since i was 6yrs old, Mostly self taugh in my early years, I skipped the entire grading process since i didnt have access to a teacher during time i was going from grade1-8 standard. Now that i am post grade 8 standard i have little need to partake in such formalitys. I do however have a HND Distinction in Music Performance. I plan to top this up to a full degree within the next couple of years. I play a mixture of Classical,Baroque,Romantic,Ragtime and early jazz (1920-1940 period) I also can teach any contemporary still such as rock/pop or blues. I Also have a very steady grasp of both Classical and Jazz theory. |
Teaching Experience: Ive Been Teaching piano and theory part time for about 18months now as a way to earn extra money whilst saving up some funds for university. I teach generally Children, teenagers, and adult hobbyists. I do not have access to grading or exam boards though if your just looking for general musicianship skills and a patient/friendly tutor, thats basically the service i provide |
Tutoring Approach: I very much aim to compromise between what the student wants to learn and some other knowledge that i feel will help them. I always aim to teach my students basic sight reading skills and theory. Or more advanced theory depending on the pupils age and attention/intrests. I normally give 1hour lessons though, depending on the pupils needs and age, 45mins or 30min lessons can be easily negociated.I am also willing to teach music theory online if thats what is required. |

| Personal Description: I am very passionate about psychology, because of this I not only know the A'level curriculum thoroughly but my knowledge and interest reaches way beyond the boundaries of the syllabus. I received the prize for academic achievement when I was studying for my own psychology A'level and I graduated from Birmingham University with a 1st class Psychology degree. Since then I have read widely on a variety of related topics, I completed a foundation year in psychotherapy which has added another dimension to my understanding of the subject. I have also travelled widely around india and israel which has given me a multicultural perspective on understanding people and their behaviour. From my varied experience I bring lots of real life examples and stories to facilitate understanding and application of psychological theory and practice. Despite being asked on several occasions to return to teaching I feel that the personal approach and flexibility of private tutoring is more appealing to me. |
Teaching Experience: I have 3 years experience teaching A'level psychology at Shoebury High School. During this time I also had private tutoring sessions with students who needed extra support to achieve in this subject. |
Tutoring Approach: I would first identify the students' area of weakness, whether it be in understanding theory or essay writing skills. I would be able to help in a number of ways depending on where the weakness would lie. For example I could explain theories using real life examples to aid the students' understanding, and explain how the studies conducted support or undermine the theory. I can advise on what is needed for a good exam answer and guide the student to help them achieve this using their own previous work. I also have games, puzzles and past exam papers to set as homework, as well as recommendations for additional resources for the student to research. |

| Personal Description: Hello, I am a 23 year old from the Old Trafford/ Stretford area of Manchester. I am a recent Law graduate from Lancaster university who is fond of reading, debating and discovering new things. I would say I am quite lively, not too difficult to get on with very ambitious but also with an equal dash of a patience for I am a patient individual. Although I am admittedly not fantastic at sports I do play badminton and football from time to time I can play a range of sports but those tend to be the main two. I am a massive fan of education and self development so I tend to be never too far away from reading a book or learning something new to further myself. |
Teaching Experience: I have mainly gained a lot of my teaching experience tutoring younger siblings and assisting the junior year students either at college or University with areas which they either required extra help on or further knowledge. Although my experience does seem some what limited I am confident that the contribution which I have made to those who I have helped has been substantial in helping them to progress onwards to the next stage and beyond. As such I would hope to expand this towards any student who desires to take me on board and to progress until they are ready for the task at hand. |
Tutoring Approach: I begin my approach with an analytical conversation with the student, parent or both in order to address in person individual to assess strengths and areas where we can develop a plan of action. I will aim to take each stage step by step until both you and I are satisfied that we are confident in understanding and explaining coherently the relevant information. I will be professional but understanding as patience dictates, most importantly any work set during the session will be wholly relevant, comprehensible and creative in order to match your needs. |

| Personal Description: I am mid 30's and a friendly and relaxed tutor with a good sense of humour. I graduated from QUEENS UNI BELFAST with BSc (HONS) and a MSc and then from CAMBRIDGE UNI with a PGCE in Chemistry. |
Teaching Experience: I am a Head of Chemistry in a NI Grammar School. I have been teaching GCSE and AS/A level chemistry for 12 years in a selective private school in England and in the Grammar School sector in N. Ireland. As a result of this experience I have an excellent library of resources relevant to the specifications which you are studying in school. I have also worked extensively as a tutor for myself and for the Justin Craig tutoring agency on a variety of A-level intensive revision courses. |
Tutoring Approach: I have high expectations of my students when tutoring. You must not treat tutoring as a magic wand or a quick fix. If this is how you think tutoring will work do NOT contact me. Remember one hour per week is only about 25% of you timetabled chemistry in school!. Therefore, students must be willing to apply themselves during the session and with homework. I have lots of experience of the various chemistry exam specifications from the examination boards and I have a huge amount of experience in tutoring and teaching to a very high level (that's important when choosing a tutor!). |

| Personal Description: I am a student of MA in Education in the University of Bath. I am from Beijing, China. I am interested in languages and have my own understanding to language learning because I used to be and still am a language learner. Through my learning experience, I can guess your desire to learn and understand your problems. I am patient and hardworking. I like teaching and spending time with students. Besides, travelling is also one of my interests. My motto is that treat somebody else the way you want to be treated. |
Teaching Experience: Oct.2003- Mar. 2005 Tutoring Chinese pupil English for English level tests and she successfully passed level 1B and level 1. Sept. 2004-Nov. 2005 Tutoring Chinese adult in English for going abroad. His IELTS score improved from 3.5 to 5.5 out of 9 which met the university requirement. After that, I tutored several IELTS students. They all passed the exam and went abroad successfully. May 2005-Mar. 2008 Worked as project manager and dept. manager in a Chinese education company. Design English learning products for Chinese market and Chinese learning products for foreigners. During this period, involved in some English training and teaching activities for children. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe each student is different. There cannot be a universal approach for everyone of them. That is the charm of tutoring in my view. According to the students' levels and requirements, I will design the appropriate teaching and learning approach to them. Overall, I do not advocate the approach that is oriented by exams, though sometimes we have to. |

| Personal Description: I am a 26 year old Teacher, originally from Cornwall but currently working in Birmingham. Having always had a passion for travel and other cultures I learnt French by staying with a French family from a young age. I have always love the performing arts and have worked with the National Youth Theatre and Crescent Theatre in Birmingham. After University, I fulfilled a personal ambition by working in India with a group of Religious and secular leaders on a project to resolve inter-religious violence issues. Subsequently, I have trained as a Teacher and feel that it is where I belong. In addition to other cultures, I also have a passion for learning about my own, and teaching the English language. I am currently involved in a project taking children's writing and performance into theatres. |
Teaching Experience: During my Russian and French degree at Birmingham University, from 2001-2005, I earnt money tutoring French for Primary aged children. In 2004, I spent a year in Russia, where I taught English to adults and young people at the North West Technical University of St Petersburg. I then spent 6 months tutoring a teenage girl in Moscow in preparation for her exams. Since returning to the UK, I have qualified as both a Primary Teacher and a Secondary French Teacher. I am currently teaching Year 3 children in a Primary School in the Birmingham authority. |
Tutoring Approach: Having always had a passion for teaching, I have chosen to devote my life to life-long education. I am currently teaching Primary aged children but I enjoy teaching across the board. I believe that the most important role of a Teacher is to constantly reflect on your practice so that you learn as much from your students as you teach them. In this way you can constantly improve as an educator. I believe strongly that education is more effective when the student enjoys spending time with their Tutor and therefore, I try to make my lessons enjoyable and creative. All learners have different styles and preferences, I intend always to analyse the student's needs and plan according to their preferred learning styles, while also encouraging them to develop other areas. My role is very much Teacher as facilitator, therefore my lessons would not solely be based on text-book work but would include interactive learning, including ICT based work. I would be pleased to work alongside any children with learning difficulties or English language problems and would do my best to help them on their journey in mainstream education. |
