Personal Description:
The subjects I teach are Politics, Philosophy and Sociology on which I have been studying for nearly 6 years in academic level. During my master's and PhD studies I have been teaching Turkish since 2005. I am exceptionally confident in teaching Turkish not only because it is my native tongue but also I have been writing, editing and translating articles and poems, and thereby obtained a very advanced knowledge of the grammatical and syntactical rules of the language. My BA degree is in Political Science and my MSc is in Political Theory (from LSE). At the moment I am a continuing PhD student in Humanities department at the University of London. I have voluntarily, academically and professionally taught in several subjects and I am preparing to be an academic lecturer mainly in Nietzsche, Kant, Aesthetics, Ethics and Political Philosophy.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as a private tutor in Alphatutors and UK Tutors since 2005. But before that I was giving private courses in Politics, Philosophy and Turkish. I teach at all levels from GCSE to adult learners.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is both traditional and alternative since while I create outlines for each class and assign homework, I also apply non-conventional methods like discussing the logic of every rule in order to teach the student the substance or the core of the subject. This enables them to approach the subject and gives them power and motivation to interpret the questions or problems using the knowledge they acquire from the tuition.

Personal Description:
I am a cheerful, out-going, married mother of three and I currently work part-time at a Language School in Bath teaching English as a Foreign Language to multi-national students of all age ranges. I am very professional in my approach to my work, and I am also organised and reliable. I thoroughly enjoy my job and I am dedicated to really making a difference with each students' grasp and use of the English Language.

On a personal level, I have a happy, busy family and when I have the time my interests are health and fitness - notably swimming, pilates and interior design.

Teaching Experience:

I initially worked for many years at Oxford University Press in the Educational Division, particularly publising children's fiction and non-fiction books and books for schools. I then left Oxford to live in Muscat, Oman where I trained and taught English as a Foreign Language to the Omani special forces, NVQ Business English to young Omani women, and English to Bedoin Orphans and local school groups. My classes were arranged through the British Council overseas, for whom I worked for two years, and though an additional language centre, The National Training Institute, for whom I worked for one year.

I then left Muscat to get married and have my family and I have lived in the UK ever since. I intitally worked in London for a Business Language School, teaching visiting professionals Business English. Four years ago I moved to Bath where I joined International House teaching English as a Foreign Language on a part-time basis. This is my current position. In addition to teaching, I have also undertaken a part-time contract with Oxford University Press, and I also accept work as a copy writer and copy editor.

Tutoring Approach:

I adopt a fresh, fun and lively approach to my teaching and classes are tailored to meet individual needs. English grammar and usage is presented in a stimulating and interactive way, and students are encouraged to participate on many levels. Skills lessons make use of the students own interests and experiences and, my aims are to bring the wider world into my teaching with current affairs, general knowledge, discussions and opinions. Classes are planned to motivate each adult or child to work in a way that brings individual results, and to nurture a lasting interest in the subject area.

Personal Description:
I am a very dedicated and friendly tutor who will welcome students of all backgrounds, ages and abilities in my specialist subjects English and Drama. I can also teach additional Study Skills, Revision tactics, General Studies, Critical Thinking, Philosophy and Exam Preparation.
I have a very diverse background in education and embrace the chance to pass on my skills and knowledge to students. I am very passionate about my subjects and come armed with a good sense of humour. I am relaxed and easy going but also very determined. I am approachable and have a caring nature.
I currently work at Gosforth High School and in my spare time I like to go to the theatre, participate in drama productions and have just completed my debut novel.
I am an active member of the National Theatre of Great Britain. This involves performing in nationwide productions and leading/assisting with drama course for new members.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked both in primary and secondary in various capacities...as a tutor, HLTA, Pastoral Manager, Learning Mentor and SEN Support Assistant.
My long term roles are in four different schools. All of my jobs have had a focus on English and Drama. I have also been responsible for much of the pastoral care of students as well as covering other areas of the curriculum in the abscence of regular teachers.
I have directed three school musicals and have run a debating and public speaking society. I have had two different form classes (one in year 9 and one in year 6) and tutored English and Drama from Year 3 right through to year 13.
I have nearly completed my degree via OU and will complete my GTP the following year

Tutoring Approach:

I am very flexible to the needs of the student. I will spend my first initial meeting with my student assessing their needs and abilities but will welcome their input (and guardians if appropriate, depending on ages) into which direction the sessions will take. While the main focus naturally is academic achievement and preparing the student for upcoming qualifications, I do incorporate other skills into the session where necessary so the student gets a more rounded development.
I can approach both practical and theory aspects of drama and while the sessions will be hard work, they aren't stressful or heavy going. It will involve much discussion and the student will need to be prepared to be open minded and be able to contribute discussions as I tend to avoid 'lecturing'
I will provide feedback on progress regularly to all concerned. I am friendly, and use my sense of humour as a tool to make the learning more interesting and put my student at ease. I will not put any pressure on the student and will focus on being encouraging and meeting achievable targets as a team.
