Personal Description:
Hello. My name is Dr. Zara and I tutor students in the age group 13-18. I hold a Ph.D. in medical biochemistry and a PGCHE from the University of Kent. I am currently working at the University of Bristol.

I specialise in teaching Chemistry and Biology at A-level, specifically for OCR and AQA exam boards. I also teach WJEC and Edexcel. I come across as a friendly, patient and enthusiastic tutor. I strive to make learning a creative and enjoyable experience, while always keeping the students goals in mind.

In the last academic year ending June 2011, 80% of my students of my students achieved predicted or better-than-predicted grades, and the majority of them were able to go to a University of their choice. Their testimonials are available for you to read on my website.

Apart from regular tutoring, I also offer intensive coaching in preparation for entrance exams, GCSE and A-level exams. I am able to help with homework assignments and proofreading. Additionally, I have previous experience of tutoring students with special needs.

Teaching Experience:

I have six years teaching experience at both undergraduate and post-graduate level, in addition, I have been a part-time tutor for four years. I have marked GCSE and A-level papers and can offer advice on the best way to answer exam questions to maximise marks. Most of my students show rapid increase in confidence levels after 2-3 sessions of tutoring.

Tutoring Approach:

My aim is to motivate young people to achieve the best of their abilities. I believe that all students can do well, turning negative barriers into positive outcomes. My approach is to break down difficult areas into bite size achievable goals. I set goals for my tutees and plan my lessons well in advance. Lesson plans and student progress reports are available to both tutees and parents. For students who work with me for an entire year, I offer additional help with exam paper revision and feedback sessions.

Fully qualified teacher, Graduate from the University of Manchester. My teaching experience has been quite varied over the past two decades. I have worked as, and currently still do as a mainstream teacher, i have also been involved in the STEM project, a multimillion pound initiative by the UK government to increase interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. I have a passion for both teaching and science and it envelops most of my working week. I am a published author on A level chemistry and am currently developing video lessons for the international A level in Chemistry and Biology. I am currently almost fully booked with one maybe two slots available.

Teaching Experience:

20 years Teaching Maths, Chemistry, and Biology to A level, Lead Tutor for the medical foundation assisting pupils to gain A's and A*'s to enter Medicine. Apart from subject specific exams I also tutor for 11+ and the CATS for University candidates and Doctors.

In the past 12 months have entered 24 13 year olds for early GCSE's expecting A's and A*'s. Age range of my pupils vary from 12 to 18. My online lessons can be . I have currently created A2 resources for the Times Educational Supplement, am a published Author for an A level chemistry Text book and was invited to the national teaching awards.

Tutoring Approach:

I develop understanding to pass exams and hands on learning (Kinesthetic) for students who learn by doing.

Their is no magic to this, i impart the ability to understand what the examiner is asking and what they are expecting. 2011 results All my tutees gained grade A 's and 30% gained PERFECT UMS scores. Students who follow my regimen will achieve grade A's. I am also preparing an 11 and 12 year old for A level maths.

While textbooks cover the breadth of topics in science, hands-on laboratory activities focus on and deepen understanding of selected subjects. Hands-on tools provide opportunities for students to learn key concepts and techniques through active participation and inquiry. My practicle lab sessions allow efficient implementation and standardization of biotechnology activities in the classroom. My sessions are adaptable to a range of grade levels (keystage 3 through University), so you can choose the depth of information that you want to learn. A practicla session costs from 20 and is an average 2 hour session. The acticities include DNA extraction, genetic engineering to create bioluminescent bacteria and a host of others.

I have my own youtube channel which is aimed directly at A level topics. The videos look at mathematics for chemistry and biology, exam questions based on experiments. My personal resources are held on my own VLE which all my students can access.

Pupils are constantly tracked, not only on subject knowledge but also how well they analyse exam questions and what they need to improve.

I am willing to travel but this will add a small charge to the hourly rate.

I have completed my Ph.D degree in the field of biomedical engineering and currently working as a Mathematical Modeller at Cyprotex Ltd. I have completed my both my M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Warwick, U.K. In addition, I received my B.Sc. in biomedical engineering from JUST in Jordan. I am interested in tutoring students in Maths and/or physics and I enjoy these sciences. Moreover, I have had a great experience in mentoring students with mental health disabilities.

Teaching Experience:

I was teaching (lecturer) in the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Ahliyya Amman University in Jordan, and I currently have teaching duties in the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick. Moreover, I teach Maths and physics in addition to engineering-related modules for school, undergraduate and postgraduate students.

These experiences have enabled me to gain a thorough knowledge of various mechanisms in supporting students in various subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

I always aim at improving the students' understanding the subject I teach. I am very flexible outside my working hours and try my best to set objectives for my tutees in order to achieve excellent results. I also tend to organise timetables before starting with a new tutee and try to understand the areas of difficulties that my students experience in the subjects I teach.

Personal Description:
I thoroughly enjoy teaching by gaining the child's attention and keeping them determined to always achieve their best. I'm a very enthusiastic and confident individual who is committed to enhance students' self esteem. Since I am still a University College London student myself; I find it very easy to get along with younger learners, making sure the lesson is not only informative but enjoyable too.
I tutor from home, mainly because I have a large whiteboard and seem to find it very helpful when interacting with my students. However, I do also teach at local places, such as the Library.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring Maths and Science up to GCSE level privately for three years now. Thus, I have worked with young learners from all walks of life, some even with special needs. I have developed my skills on how to become sympathetic and easy going with my students, yet firm and serious when necessary. This is because I feel it is important to allow the student to feel at ease during the lesson, however, they should concentrate on their work at the same time.
Furthermore, during 2011 academic year I worked at an Arabic School as a teacher's assistant. I also volunteered for various organisations, such as a maths assistant at Friary park community centre, and in 2010 I assisted in a Reception class in Derwentwater Primary school.
I am currently employed at Kumon and part time at First Class Learning, tutoring Maths and English to children of all ages. I have worked with children as young as three. Working in these centres has taught me how to ensure the students stay focused at all times. Moreover, I am continually developing new skills through the ongoing experiences.

Tutoring Approach:

I tend to use a variety of methods when teaching, depending on the child and their needs, focusing on their age and what their syllabus requires. I am capable to do quick summarised revision sessions, as well as long term lesson plans. Either way I ensure that the student is always given homework and stays revising. I also do small mastery tests at the start of each lesson which consists of a five minute recap test, so the student is required to have revised the previous lesson well. Obviously if they struggle with the homework or mastery test, then the lesson plan's pace is adjusted to meet the child's level. This helps to ensure that the student masters each topic before moving on to the next.

Personal Description:
I am 25 years old and currently researching for a PhD at the MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Science, KCL. I have a bachelors in Natural Sciences from Cambridge university and a Masters in Research in the Neuroscience field at Imperial College.

I am bilingually fluent, speaking English and Cantonese Chinese, having lived in the UK from a young age. I am friendly, good with children and relatable with young adults.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience in tutoring children of all ages and teaching young adults at an Adult learning centre, including adults with learning difficulties. I currently tutor students ranging from year 6-Upper sixth form, for all maths and science subjects across various exam boards. I also take part in teaching at Sunday School and have experience with young children. I have a CRB check and would be happy to be checked again if necessary.

Tutoring Approach:

I consider myself to be professional but approachable. I am organised and my teaching is structured. I can either help with homework or cater for individual learning needs. I believe that understanding core concepts and their relevance is key, not only to good grades, but your child's enjoyment of the subject.
Teaching techniques can be adapted to suit the needs and learning style of your child and I have the patience to find out what works for your child, whether they are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (tactile) learners.

Personal Description:
Hello.

My name is David and I have experience tutoring students of all age groups and levels. I have a Ph.D. in biology (genetics and ecology, specifically). I offer tuition at your home or online via Skype.

Teaching Experience:

I've tutored a number of students in GCSE and A Level biology, tailoring tuition to the students needs, whether it's focusing on understanding specific areas, practicing exam technique or revising.

As a university lecturer I have taught a broad range of biology subjects, including genetics, ecology, evolution, microbiology, human physiology, molecular biology and forensic biology, but I really enjoy teaching any aspect of it. I've tutored many undergraduates on exam technique and scientific writing and I've also helped run statistics workshops so can help in this area too if needed.

Tutoring Approach:

I am friendly, informal, approachable and enthusiastic. I am also very flexible, as every student is different and often require a different approach.

Studying can get pretty boring, especially if it's just learning to pass an exam rather than really understanding the subject. I prefer to take a creative and engaging approach to help my students gain the knowledge, understanding and writing skills to score brilliantly in their exams and also hope to impart some of my passion for the subject along the way.

Additionally, I have experience teaching students with learning difficulties.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher who is currently working towards a PhD Physics with Sussex University. I am also an instructor with the Sea Cadets where I have been the second in command of a unit for 5 years. My interests stretch from sailing, kayaking and seamanship to football, cinema and reading. Before moving to Brighton I played competitively for an 11-aside ladies football team for 7 years. I therefore have a wide range of experience that is not limited to the classroom.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified Science Teacher with a specialism in Physics. I have experience of teaching Science to KS3 and GCSE, Physics to KS3, GCSE and A-Level and Maths to KS3 and GCSE. I have also tutored primary pupils through their 11+ and taught Latin on a 1:1 basis. In addition, I am a specialist marker for the exam board OCR. During this time I have taught in a range of schools; from grammar schools to comprehensives and secondary moderns. I have experience of working with pupils who have special needs, particularly but not limited to, Aspergers, Autism, ADHD and those with moderate learning difficulties.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to tailor the instruction to the pupils needs. For exam pupils, this could be covering more complex material in depth, practising exam questions or focusing on exam technique to boost the pupil's confidence. For others it could be more practical ways to visualise mathematical concepts, imaginative ideas for revision or additional support for key skills. Homework can be issued on request. In general, I adapt my approach to each pupil and the goal that they are trying to achieve. Whether your child is aiming for a C, A* or the basic mathematical skills needed in life, please do not hesitate to discuss your needs further.

Personal Description:
I have been a secondary school teacher for over 30 years. I am currently teaching at a leading comprehensive school in South London. I am laso very interested in learning styles and incorporate study skills in my tuition sessions. Students show good progress within weeks and develop confidence and a liking for the subject I teach.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Maths and Science to secondary students for over 30 years. Many of my students have experienced great success ranging from grade C to A* depending on their starting grades. My PETS approach will help students to carry out revision in a systematic and organised way. You will see progress and improvements within a few weeks (depending on how well you adopt my approach).

Tutoring Approach:

I employ a very innovative approach (PETS) to tutoring that will produce positive results within weeks. I also use humour and give much importance to motivating and inspiring my students. I wish to remind parents/tutees that you are paying for specialist help. I have the experience and the knowledge to help you achieve your target grade, hence my fee structure.

I also run small group tuition (2-4 students) at my home and the fee is only 30.00 for 2 hours per session. This is a cheaper option and I find students enjoy learning in groups.

Personal Description:
I am a PhD oceanography postgraduate at the University of Southampton. I`m half Lebanese/half Brasilian staying in Southampton so I know 4 different languages. I`ve worked as a professional private tutor in sciences/math abroad for more than 4 years whereby I have tutored more than 120 school and university students. Subsequently, I`ve grown a firm grasp of what tutees of various classes, ages, and intellectual levels need and what approach should be abided by within progressive sessions according to how fast a tutee can learn. Nothing says more about a person than experience and you would get to know me better once we meet, hopefully. I almost always offer tutoring at homes as opposed to having the burden of travelling on the tutee. For more info on the subjects I offer please check my profile!

Teaching Experience:

I've worked as a private tutor for 5 years (2008-2012) with more than 120 teenagers ranging from 10 till secondary high school level at the ages of 18 and first two years of college. I've been tutoring in Maths/chemistry/physics/biology for ages 10-15 and mostly chemistry and biology for older students as my undergraduate studies were in Biology and chemistry, and my masters is in general Oceanography, which spans around chemistry, physics, and mostly biology too!

I've been tutoring for the past years out of passion to educate and transfer the knowledge to whomever is interested in retaining and and exceling at a certain subject. The subjects I offer are ones I've practiced before, be it in tutoring at a primary school/highschool level or practically in my Masters degree which include an interdisciplinary variety of subjects, mainly chemistry, biology and physics. With an undergrad of general biology accompanied with a long experience of chemical studies I can assure you you'll be satisfied with the value-for-price that you are paying.

Tutoring Approach:

I will generally take the first meeting to get to know the learner and talk with them one on one about their needs and their perception of their needs. If the learner is a child I will then talk to their parents separately about their child`s needs and behavior toward learning and general attitude toward an academic environment. I take personalized care of each student of mine, tailoring each experience depending on the need. I will generally find supplementary material to work with the student in tutor time. Again, I will do this depending on the particular situation of the tutee. I will be there to help complete homework, provide additional less or more rigorous material, provide study skills, help study, provide writing skills and practice, language immersion, progress reports for parents and teachers for child tutees, and most importantly a constant helping and supportive contact for those in need of help at any time. I take great care of my students as a tutor and my unwavering goal is to help students grow and learn academically and personally and give them the tools to maintain these skills, be it through their next exam or their life. Tutoring and helping is my passion and my utilitarian approach to tutoring is varying based on each individual`s needs but is based upon unwavering and constant support.
