Personal Description:
I'm a recent University of Glasgow Biochemistry and MSc International Project Management graduate. I'm a French national and have been living in the UK for 14 years. I'm a lovely person, very dynamic and love the one to one of tutoring. It makes me really happy to help someone achieve something they have worked so hard for.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring privately now for 7 years and have seen my students come to grow in confidence, in understanding and in knowledge of their chosen topics. I saw a girl who I tutored for 7 months go from getting an 'Unclassified grade' in her Biology AS Level to a B in her A2. I have never seen a student of mine's grades stay the same post-tutoring and I am very proud of that.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach tutoring different ways depending on who the student is. I ask them questions about themselves, hobbies, favourite subjects etc; and then using that to better understand how they learn, I talk to them about their private learning and revision and the method of approach to that and to exams. And then I teach them using the method appropriate to their style of learning.

Personal Description:
I am now only accepting online students due to time constraints.
I'm a 40 year old documentary researcher for the BBC. Its my job to meet new contacts on a daily basis and as a result I'm outgoing and extremely personable. I have to Research new subjects from scratch in order to make informative programmes therefore I can take any subject matter and work hard to have a good understanding of it in a very short space of time. Much of the subject matter I learn is Science based.

I really enjoy teaching people new things, especially helping Students to understand subject that they have always found difficult. I understand that everyone learns in different ways and that one method of teaching doesn't work with everyone. By getting to know peoples personality, I can discover the individual ways in which they learn. This is so important in forming relationships with Students and finding out the best way I can help them to understand new subjects.

I'm patient and good humoured and am good at making people feel relaxed in my company however I will push to ensure that the students take their work seriously.

Teaching Experience:

6 years home and online tutoring students aged from 12 upwards in coursework, essay/report writing, exam revision and preparation. Tutoring sessions include tips in how to maximise exam marks.

3 months tutoring children in basic numeracy and literacy in the Philippines.

Tutoring Approach:

Its my daily job to take complicated information and unravel it so that it can be conveyed in simple terms and understood by people of all ages.

I can teach a range of subjects in a way that makes them simple to understand and in a style adapted to each student's personality. I'm also skilled at writing reports and essays, particularly understanding all the applied thinking that needs to be demonstrated to gain extra marks.

I love teaching and pass on my enthusiasm to my students. I believe that it's essential to build up the pupil's confidence in their own ability to learn in order for them to become more interested and approach learning in a more focused way.

I always supply the students with extra Q&A revision papers so that they can continue learning outside tutorials.

Personal Description:
Hi,
I enjoy teaching and researching. Currently, I am working as a researcher at the university.
My area of expertise includes, Biology, Maths, Chemistry and Pharmacology.
In my quest of higher education currently I am working as a research Scientist in molecular pharmacology, and cell biology. My project is associated with Lister Hospital, Stevenage, UK.

Teaching Experience:

Visiting Lecturer at the university level From last 3 years. Teaching students at the university level theoretically as well as wet lab experiments. I had 6 Nuffield bursary students to teach in the university in last 2 years. All of them are very competent and few of them went to imperial collage, cambridge, oxford and kings for the graduation.

Tutoring Approach:

If a student is not have an interest and intellectual in to the subject, I take it as a challenge. I prefer to correlate the tedious concept of science with the normal day to day life and give a flavor of importance or demand of a particular subject.
Give me an opportunity to introduce myself and I am confident that I will not disappoint you. So far, none of my student left my tuition and stayed with me for longer.

Personal Description:
I am a Medical Biochemist and have been tutoring in science for the last 5 years.

All my classes are individually pre-planned to ensure you get the most out of our sessions. I am happy to go at a pace that suits you, making sure you have a strong foundation of general science while also specialising to the curriculum you are following.

I have worked with students from KS3 to undergrad level and of all abilities. During our time together you can email me with any questions, or send over past papers for me to mark before our next session.

I have helped many students prepare for re-sit exams. Students undertaking re-sits often have little time to prepare and have forgotten information they were taught previously. I work with these students in intensive classes, going through the crucial material efficiently and ensuring a rapid improvement in performance.

I am also available to help students who are preparing for university exams.
Subjects I cover include biochemistry, molecular & cell biology, genetics, molecular medicine, pre-clinical medicine and cancer/oncology biology. I regularly tutor students studying Medicine (MBBS) in their pre-clinical years. Let me know your university, degree title, and the specific material you need help with.

GAMSAT: I am experienced in helping students revise for part III (reasoning in biological and physical sciences) of the GAMSAT. I am happy to offer lower prices for regular students. All students are offered a free first session where we can discuss your academic background, where we need to focus, and draw up a timetable to ensure you'll be fully prepared.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for the last 5 years- in one-on-one sessions, group tutorials and larger classes. I have experience in tutoring all levels from KS3 to undergraduate, and with students of all academic abilities.

Tutoring Approach:

My classes improve a students scientific understanding while explaining how to apply this knowledge in the exam context. When I meet a new student we will discuss their preferred method of teaching, and I then design classes accordingly.

I am happy to tutor students of all abilities and however often you feel is necessary. Some of my students have one-off sessions when they are having trouble with a topic, others prefer to see me regularly until their exams.

I am experienced with all the major exam boards (OCR, AQA, Edexcel etc), allowing me to focus on the specific areas that are relevant to you.

Personal Description:
I am a 3rd year medical student studying at imperial college london. I have obtained academic distinction in both 1st and 2nd year examination, therefore I believe I have an effective method of learning with which I can help the students.

I am very passionate about teaching as I believe with the right method, students would be able to reach their potential. Different students have different ways of optimised learning, it is both challenging and rewarding to explore the best way of learning for them, and that's where the fun of teaching lies for me.

Having experienced GCSE/Alevel and now in university, I feel that there are various learning habits developed during my GCSE/Alevel years which if not corrected, could hinder an effective learning later on in university; namely, the rigid way of cramming hard facts and not truly absorbing the essence of it. Therefore, I feel strongly about guiding the students onto the correct learning habits which could benefit them not just for exam in the short term, but for life-long learning.

Teaching Experience:

I have experiences tutoring lower-year students during GCSE and Alevel.
I am also tutoring year 1 & 2 medical students on background science and clinical medicine.
I have also participated as a tutor in teaching days organised by imperial college medical school directed at GCSE & A level students with the aim of introducing them to medicine and human physiology.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a focused teaching approach where key learning points should be emphasized, students would be taught independent problem-solving, that is, applying learnt principles to a variety of different problems. Memorising methods are important for learning hard facts, but helping the students to truly understand and explore the principles is the central focus.
Even though the essence of teaching is the same, there's differences in how we should approach different subjects.

mathematics:
There's two key points to learning maths; a thorough understanding of key principles, and a flexible mind when approaching mathematical problems. The students should be shown how the principles are derived within reasonably simple-level scope, as not understanding how and why the principles are derived could lead to rigid way of mathematical thinking, which then leads to the students unable to solve those problems with a twist to them. A flexible mind not only comes with adequate understanding of the key teaching points, but also comes with guided practice. I would encourage the students to tackle a variety of mathematical problem based on the principle, with an increasing degree of difficulty, as it is important to teach the students not to be afraid of difficult and challenging questions. With a systematic approach, difficult problems becomes self-evidently easy.

Science (biology, chemistry, physics)
For GCSE/A-LEVEL, because of the learning is relatively basic in comparison to the higher education, there's many new concepts introduced which could be hard to get their head around to. Especially when it is often the case that a conclusion is given to the students as a hard fact for them to memorise, but nothing is explained in term of how such conclusion is reached. In such case, I am aiming to explain the basis behind various mechanism in the simplest language with plenty of analogies so to allow the students to have the whole picture, this I find actually improve on their long-term memory of the hard facts.
Real-life application is another way of encouraging their interest in the subject, as well as their desire to learn more about the natural mechanics that governs our biological, physical and chemical system, by making the link, and seeing the application, can they truly appreciate the relevance of learning science.

Mandarin
When it comes to teaching language, the key is to provide a native environment, and encourage as much communication and practice with them as possible. Since a large amount of the work lies on memorisation, it could be quite dull for the student, therefore, I am using a variety of teaching tools (graphical, presentation, discussion, games and role-play) to makes it interesting and fun for the students, it would also help to establish a sense of acheivement quite early on in language learning.

I have also worked as Head of Science in an inner London Pupil Referral Unit with disaffected young people where differentiation and ensuring learners enjoy the subject is vital in order to get them back into mainstream education (for Key Stage three pupils 11-14) or employment training (for Key Stage four pupils 14-16). I have also worked as course manager for BTEC in Applied Science, a learning mentor, a Science teaching assistant and a private tutor.
I am very competent in my main subject areas - maths and science. I have a BSc in Biomedical Science, and am currently studying a distance learning module on Developing thinking in Statistics which focuses on the psychology behind thinking in statistical maths.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to make teaching the curriculum enjoyable and accessible to all my learners' by catering to their individual needs. In the initial stages I often assess the learner's needs and the type of learner by using a variety of resources.
I also offer online tutoring services via Skype and WizIQ, which is just effective as face-to-face tutoring, with a large number of various resources including Powerpoints, video clips/animations, past exam papers and mark schemes, etc.
I have had some parents who were at first reluctant to try online tutoring however were quite pleased once commenced (written feedback/references available on request).
I am currently e-tutoring students in A-level PE: sports psychology, anatomy and physiology, comparative studies; GCSE maths; and GCSE Biology. I have also in the past tutored English to a student in India.

Personal Description:
I am moving into my second year studying Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science. I achieved all A* at GCSE and A*A*AAB at A Level (in History, Economics & Business, English Literature, Extended Project and Biology), which was the top in my state school in Hertfordshire.

I am a highly motivated individual and share this in my teaching, at the same time I have fun when I teach and ensure students enjoy every minute of their session. I am looking to help my students to excel in their studies, but enjoy it at the same time, in hope that they see work not as a chore, but as a way to develop and improve.

I love working with children; I have a younger sister aged eight now who I have tutored throughout her schooling life and have seen her excel and develop in her studies. I feel a child's confidence is fundamental to their success; this is why when I teach I offer humour and enthusiasm to ensure work is not seen as a chore but an opportunity to improve.

Teaching Experience:

I was employed as a tutor at Sandringham School for three years; I worked closely with students and respective departments to push advanced students to achieve an A* at GCSE English. I was able to see their development not just in their results, but in their attitude to learning. I hope to inspire children, to engage them and to share the lessons I learned as a student so they can achieve the goals they wish to.

I was an employee at Waterstones for two years, during this I specialised in the kids department; I spent time with younger pupils to introduce authors and develop reading skills.

I feel that schools often lack the time and resources to pay individual attention to students and this is why I value individual tutoring; it offers children the opportunity to develop and succeed in education. I feel often it is students who are best suited to teaching other students, and through my enthusiasm and passion for education, I hope to encourage and mentor.

Tutoring Approach:

I wish to reiterate my passion for working with children; I see confidence as the greatest challenge to the success of my tutees. I like to teach progressively and proactively, but adapt based on the needs of the student. In tutoring younger children, I incentivise and offer rewards based on their work ethic and success in dealing with new problems. The older students may benefit more from past papers, exam technique assistance and tracked progression. I use quizzes to chart strengths and weaknesses and set papers for the student to work on outside of my tutoring sessions. My approach is engaging; I want to ensure my students really see a difference in their own attitude and success in their work, and I want them to make the most of their sessions with me.

Personal Description:
I have just completed a PhD in Medical Genetics at Cardiff University. I am friendly, approachable, and can tailor tutoring to suit individual students

Teaching Experience:

I have taught A level Biology and GCSE Physics and Biology

Tutoring Approach:

With the use of past papers in the specific subject and curriculum/examining body required I establish areas of the subject that students are best at and areas which require more focus. We are then able to go through areas of the curriculum at a pace which suits the pupil with regular past papers to track progress made.

Personal Description:
I am a young girl, still a student myself making it easier to engage with my students. It is proven that by being engaged, students learn more which is why I make a fabulous tutor.

Teaching Experience:

I have teaching experience through my peers, by helping them learn. I also help younger children (primary school age and 13/14 year olds) to complete their work giving me experience with kids.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very relaxed, patient yet flowing and efficient approach to tutoring. No parts of the syllabus is missed out but students feel like they want to do it not that they have to.
