Personal Description:
I'm amazing!!!
And I help other people be amazing too!!!
My aim is to increase everyone's understanding of everything!!!

I've been tutoring Maths, Science and English since 2007, for ages 5 to 50. However, I mostly help teenagers with their SATs, GCSEs and A Levels.

Maths, Science and English are the three main subjects that people tend to want tutoring in. (Actually it's five subjects if you break the Science down into Biology, Chemistry and Physics.)

Anyway, as I tutor all of these subjects, my students find it very useful that I can potentially cover a different subject each week, or I can do two hours a week and cover a different subject in each hour.

This obviously makes it much easier for the parents too, because they don't have to find a separate tutor for each subject, or leave their child without the valuable one-to-one support in any of the core subjects.

I've also helped my students with pretty much every major school subject; from History and Religious Studies, to French and Spanish, and even Psychology and Health and Social Care. In fact, experience has shown me that I can help anyone to better understand anything - even something that I didn't even know myself a minute earlier!

Teaching Experience:

Educational Employment

Private Home Tutor
The Right Line
2007 - present
Tutoring GCSE and AS Level Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Tutoring GCSE English Language and English Literature.
Tutoring Numeracy and Literacy (including Phonics) for ages 7 and up.

Life Improvement Course Director
COSRECI
2001 - 2012
(A community education and counselling organisation.)
Assisting students on courseroom-based life improvement courses.
Marking and returning lessons for home-study life improvement courses

Tutoring Approach:

Initially:
I find out the student's strengths and weaknesses.
I find out what they want to achieve from the tutoring.
Together we draw up a plan of action to achieve this.

While tutoring:
I ensure the student understands every word of the subject as it comes up.
I aim for a full, conceptual understanding of each point to the best of their ability.
I keep motivation high with reward stickers! (IT WORKS!!!)

Personal Description:
Students and enhancing their unique learning experience are my priorities. I am a highly experienced and qualified English teacher, however I successfully help students achieve strong results in English, Maths and Science KS1-KS5. My passion for education is proven, as I have successfully taught numerous students who have achieved A/A* grades consistently at both GCSE and A level. I have my own professional premises that are established as a vital centre of learning within the Wolverhampton area. Also my style of 11+ teaching is engaging and provides excellent examination results. All my 11+ students have gained entry to their chosen school at this level.

With me you get a totally unique, bespoke educational experience that transforms students' current level of attainment into the realms of excellence and brilliance. This is achieved through structured, interactive lessons that provide meticulous attention to detail with SPAG, nurturing a passion for their subject and overall learning, my ability to engage students 100% with exciting and tailored tuition and my strong commitment to raising student's confidence and self belief.

Ensuring early academic development throughout KS2 to KS3 is fundamental to academic success later on. Early study skills such as securing planning skills for writing, solid comprehension skills and regular application of essential strategies and methods in both literacy and numeracy make all the difference to a child's education and ability to learn effectively.

Academic performance is about results, and students need to fully understand this while simultaneously enjoying their learning throughout all stages of development.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for over ten years in the Uk and I have a 100% pass rate for 11+, additionally all of my private and mainstream school students have achieved a grade B or above at both GCSE and A level. Additionally, I specialise in English, Maths and Science KS3 SATs tuition.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is student centred and based on performance, success and examination technique. I make all my one to one lessons fun, stimulating and engaging. Lessons should be informative, focused and really embrace the student's own unique learning style. All students enjoy my lessons and provide continuously strong feedback and testimonials.

Personal Description:
I have a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Aberdeen and before that I got an MChem in Chemistry. I also have extensive knowledge of Biology until A Level and Physics until GCSE. I currently work for an educational publisher working on international education books up to A Level.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a tutor in the past and I have tutored primarily university students (4 years experience) but I do have experience in tutoring school level students in all three sciences. I have successfully tutored students to grade A standard at A Level and GCSE, with one student gaining an A*.

Tutoring Approach:

Due to work commitments I have been away from tutoring for a while (around 4 years) but it is something that I wish to get back into as I found it very rewarding. During a previous role I was selected as a mentor for new graduate trainees which ignited my desire to become a tutor again.

I tend to structure the sessions depending on the needs to the individual. I am happy to simply go over a topic or come up with sample tests - I am totally flexible and will aim to cater for your requirements.

Personal Description:
Hello,

I am a Biomedical Sciences graduate and am currently studying at Imperial College London for my Masters in Reproductive and Developmental Biology with the hopes of starting my PhD next year.

I live in Hertfordshire but commute, by driving, daily to Hammersmith Hospital to study.

I am the oldest of 3, with my youngest sibling being 11 years.

I am very approachable, enthusiastic with a love for my subject. Ideally I would suit a child in their GCSE's or A Levels who needs support with information which is out of grasp for parents.

Teaching Experience:

Tutoring children locally; family and friends.

This summer I worked at a residential for children aged 13 - 17 years.

And, I have run a group on Fridays for children on/off for 5 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I honestly believe the best way to get across to children is by using analogies and diagrams. With my sister I try always to relate the subject we are going over to something she would understand, whether that may be her favourite band, or clothing, or a sport.

I teach biology and so much of biology is new information, unlike english and maths you aren't building on knowledge so it must be kept interesting.

I also believe that practice papers are the best way to learn. I don't believe that practice makes perfect, I believe perfect practice makes perfection and if you know how to answer a question, how to pick apart the question and know what the examiner is looking for then you are half way there.

Personal Description:
I graduated in 2014 with a 2.1 in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford (St. John's College). I completed my A levels at Dr Challoner's in Amersham.

I'm enthusiastic about teaching and believe the sciences are something anyone can get to grips with once someone has explained the ideas to them in a clear and concise manner.

I am currently going through the process of becoming an officer in the British army and so am available to tutor until October 2016. In addition to in-person tuition, I can also provide help via email or skype, which could be especially useful for clearing up last minute problems before the exams. I can also provide tuition for advice on Oxbridge interviews for students applying for university.

Teaching Experience:

I have currently accrued over 250 hours one-on-one tutoring experience!

I participated in a mentoring scheme at my school tutoring pupils from years 8 and 9 for over a year. I have also given tutorials to biochemistry students in the year below me at uni. I have also tutored my little sister in the sciences for her 2013 GCSEs, as well as maths A level in 2014 and 2015.

Tutoring Approach:

Ideally I will contact the student prior to the tutorial and ask them what board they are on and to provide me with a list of any topics or issues that are troubling them; we will then spend the tutorial going through each issue until I feel he/she has grasped the topic.

Alternatively, if the student doesn't have any specific problems, I will give them some exam questions to answer and we will go through each question and the topic that it represents with them, at some degree of detail according to the level of understanding shown by the tutee's answer.

The questions can either be done during the tutorial, so that the answers and problems they faced are fresh in their mind, or can be emailed and completed before the tutorial.

I try to keep my tutorials relaxed and conversational so that the tutee feels comfortable with the work and isn't afraid to ask any questions, no matter how silly they think the question

Personal Description:
My name is Marie-Jeanne, and I'm a Canadian and French national back in the UK to pursue a Master's Degree in Islamic Art and Architecture at SOAS of the University of London.

My educational history confirms my knowledge and understanding of both the British and Canadian systems. As a child, I studied in Canada, but I completed my GCSEs in Oxfordshire, before returning to Canada to finish school in an International Baccalaureate program, to accommodate my love of visual arts and playing the trombone.

During my GCSE's the Edexcel exam board congratulated me for receiving on of the top 5 marks of all exam takers (150000) in English Literature. I also won the English Award at school that year, and started a student council that I was voted president of. I graduated with 10 A* grades and an unfortunate B in IT. When I finished high school, I attended university in Montreal at McGill, a university consistently ranked as one of the top universities internationally. There, I studied Middle Eastern Studies and Art History, and I received a bachelors degree of First Class Honors with Distinction. I also edited an interdisciplinary journal and was the undergraduate president of my department, while playing in a jazz band and singing in a classical choir.

But school isn't everything. In my spare time I have a number of hobbies that bring me immense happiness. When I can, I enjoy painting, cooking, writing, and playing music.

Teaching Experience:

For the past two years, I have been teaching in the private school system in Cairo, Egypt. Most of my students spoke English as a second language, so I focused specifically on making things as clear and simple as possible. I also learned Arabic so that I could explain grammatical intricacies of English in the Arabic language better.

From 2011-2012, I taught in the American Division of Nefertari School, teaching 10th grade English literature. I tailored my curriculum to deal with the themes of Post-Colonialism, gender, and growing older. I taught 5 classes of 25 students. With my focus on reading comprehension, I brought 87% of my students up two reading grade levels by the end of the scholastic year.

The following year I taught at St. Fatima School in the British section. I was a grade 4 class teacher, and taught the entirety of the curriculum, save Art, PE and Music. I tried to make my curriculum as interactive and integrative as possible. During these two years, I also tutored students that needed remedial attention outside of class. I have also taught art to students between the ages of 5-12.

Tutoring Approach:

A tutor needs to be intuitive and flexible to the needs of the student so that they can make the most of their time together. Everyone learns differently, and at a different pace. By communicating with, and working with a student, I can understand how best they can glean the information I'm sharing with them, and how they can most benefit from the time spent.

In terms of resources, I try to incorporate the broadest range possible: multimedia, IT, music and various written and visual tools to get the message across. I also think it's crucial to make the subject interesting, which means asking and answering broader questions: why is this subject engaging/ fascinating to me? How can I make it so?

Personal Description:
I'm a graduate-entry third year medical student at Imperial College London. I graduated from the University of Sheffield with an upper second class honours degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2012. In between my two degrees I worked as a Medical Assistant in Paediatrics A&E at St George's Hospital, I admire the energy that young people have and found working with children so rewarding. My education and work life has equipped me with solid communication skills, and the ability to work with a vast range of people. Pursuing a path in science has required a lot of motivation, whilst studying for my degrees I consider that my organisational and time-keeping skills have been vital. Despite my background in science I have always maintained a creative side too, and have a keen interest in literature and the arts.

Teaching Experience:

Taking part in numerous voluntary projects has given me a lot of opportunity to teach, both one-to-one and in group scenarios. Whilst volunteering at my local hospital I helped on the children's ward to ensure the patients were not missing out on their education. This included helping children of all ages with their coursework and school syllabus'. I took part in a project based in South Africa teaching at an orphanage, this was a challenge due to the limited resources available, and a language barrier. However, using innovative ways as a team we were able to conduct lessons teaching English, Numeracy and Music that were accessible and enjoyable for the children. During my university career I have completed assignments presenting my own research or ideas to groups of students and tutors, this required explaining concepts in a clear and concise manner. Over the past two years I have tutored several students privately. I have found this experience rewarding and am very proud of their achievements.

Tutoring Approach:

I am always keen to share my enthusiasm in the subject that I am teaching. I am aware of the importance of maintaining a student's interest in the subject. In order to do this, I believe it is vital to assess each student's style and tailor my teaching towards their individual needs. I am very patient, and am happy to explain concepts in numerous different ways to ensure that a student is comfortable. I approach work in a professional manner, and appreciate the importance of time-keeping and dependability.

Hi, my name is Sophie. I am studying Biochemistry at Edinburgh University, having just finished my gap year working at IBM. I love to spend my spare time either on the hockey pitch, in the kitchen or doing some art.

Teaching Experience:

Science Buddy for 2 years at school
Summer Camp Leader for 3 years running

Work experience at an Adult Learning Centre

Tutoring Approach:

It has been my experience, both as a tutor and as a student, that the best way to engage with course material is to figure out which styles of learning work best for you. I personally found certain aspects of learning quite challenging during my time in school but by finding the methods that most suited my needs, I was able to maximize my learning potential.

My tutoring style emphasizes collaboration and positive reinforcement in order to produce a friendly learning environment.

From my charity work abroad in Ghana to my role as Deputy Head Girl at my secondary school, I have gained the interpersonal skills necessary to develop productive and compassionate relationships with pupils. Students will find themselves excited for their lessons and eager to achieve new standards of excellence.

Personal Description:
Hi, I`m Nicole and I am a second year Medicine undergraduate studying at Imperial College London. I am living in Hammersmith and Fulham so can tutor within a few miles` radius of this area.

I attained A* in all my A-Levels consisting of Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. All AS & A2 modules for A-Level Maths were learnt within a year, enabling me to complete the whole A-Level during my AS year. I also achieved 11 A*s in my GCSE subjects which were studied at The Lady Eleanor Holles School, where I held an academic scholarship.

I am able to offer first-hand experience on preparing for Medical School admissions, particularly regarding admission tests (BMAT & UKCAT), personal statement and volunteering/work experience.

I enjoy Medicine, Science and Maths and I am keen to deliver my sessions to students in order to evoke their (sometimes buried!) passion for these subjects too. Furthermore, I enjoy teaching students and the satisfaction gained from watching them succeed in understanding a new topic which they recently had no knowledge of is like no other job!

I am available most weekday evenings and weekends.

I can offer online lessons, or am able to travel to students (provided travel costs are reimbursed).

Teaching Experience:

I tutored AS Biology to a younger student during my last year of Sixth Form, enabling her to achieve an A in her exam. I also guided my younger sister in Maths when she had problems understanding new concepts, and she has now completed her AS Maths modules one year ahead of her peers who have only just finished their GCSEs.

At present I tutor a few students, the majority of whom are studying towards their GCSEs.

Tutoring Approach:

I have two approaches to tutoring, depending on what it is the tutee wishes to get out of it:

When learning new material, I will first build a foundation for the concepts to be taught, and aim to draw links with pre-existing knowledge.

If running over old material, I will help go through any notes, reiterate key concepts and ideas, before using past paper questions to reinforce the knowledge.

2- Group Lessons (10% discount applied per extra student): Some prefer group lessons where they can share their learning experience with each others. I can arrange such groups so that beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners can work together.

Place of lesson: Your home OR at a place that is mutually convenient.

Note: - You will need to pay for reasonable travelling expenses if the tuition place (e.g: home) is 3 mile far.
- FREE learning materials
- Money-back guarantee for the first session.
- At the end of each course, there will be a competitive tests among student and there will be great gifts (Tablets, PC, etc ...).

Personal Description:
I recently graduated from King`s College London, obtaining a BSc in Biomedical Sciences (July 2015). I am currently in a gap year as I apply for graduate school in the medical/dental field. As I currently have the free time, I would like to offer my academic knowledge and guidance to children requiring tutoring in Maths, Biology & Chemistry as well as general science (including Physics GCSE).

Having had private tutoring myself, I really appreciated the one-to-one attention, which allowed me to fully grasp concepts and apply this knowledge. With this opportunity I felt my understanding was in greater depth, and I felt more confident when taking exams. As a result, I experienced a large boost in my examination results. As a tutor, I feel I can work with the individual, at his or her own pace and adapt to their unique way of learning. Such methods are overrun in a large classroom. I believe this investment will boost a pupil's enthusiasm and genuine interest for a given subject.

I completed A-Level Maths & Biology with grade A and Chemistry B at St. Albans School.
I have 10 GCSE`s - 7A* (including Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and french) and 3 A`s

I am friendly and caring towards pupils, as I too understand the stress of school exams and the difficulty of not understanding difficult material! Only last year I was completing my final exams for graduation, and thus I can sympathise with strenuous revision. Therefore I would like to make challenging topics, more approachable and easier to understand for pupils, by providing a relaxed and enjoyable environment for learning.

I am very caring and supportive as I have spent many hours volunteering in St Thomas` Hospital London as well as George Washington Hospital in Washington DC, interacting with patients.

I am 22 and live in the county of Hertfordshire.

Teaching Experience:

No professional teaching experience yet as I am a recent graduate. However, I have had experience as teaching assistants and mentors:
At University I was a Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) mentor. I was assigned to 1st year biomedical students, where I would assist and encourage them to cope with difficult work load and adapting to new university life. Using my prior experience as a 1st year student, I provided them with support and advice for coursework deadlines, how to best prepare for exams and how to relax at stressful times! Such support included, weekly meetings, access to email me whenever they want, and PowerPoint presentations providing hints and tips.

I have extensive experience of interacting with the public and especially caring for patients. I have volunteered at St Thomas` Hospital London, where I cared for patients undergoing minor procedures at the Dermatology and Skin Laser Surgery. Furthermore, I volunteered at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington DC, during my summer holidays abroad.

Whilst I was doing my A Levels at St Albans School, I participated in the Gifted and Talented Mathematics Scheme. This was a program designed for primary school children who excel in mathematics. As an assistant, I would introduce and teach children new mathematical concepts. I also provided guidance on how to approach the challenging problems.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel the advantage to private tutoring is the ability to adapt 100% to the individuals method of learning. Therefore my approach is to understand and go at the pupils pace. I feel it is important that a pupil doesn't learn 'for the exam'. In order to excel and really achieve excellent results, a pupil must fully understand the topic. This way, one will be ready for any style of question that may be asked, rather than answering 'what the examiner wants'. Truly grasping concepts will also reduce the need to memorise substantial amounts of information, in a 'route learning manner'. Once core understanding is complete, I personally feel practising past-exam papers is very beneficial. Therefore, as a tutor I will provide numerous past exam questions, so the pupil feels fully confident for the exam. As is truly correct - practice makes perfect!
