Studying should not be a burden but it is an active learning process therefore there needs to be a balance between the two.There is an approach to everything, hence knowing sylabus inside out doesn't necessarily mean good marks in exams. Exam technique is very important, and hence understanding and confidence is essential.I like the students to be able to understand what they learn, to see the logic of what they have to learn, and hence be able to apply their learning.

I have tutored my present A2 class for their exams in which they did very well. I am passionate about science and do not want to put anyone off by a strict or too rigid approach to the subject.

For exam revision I find the best way is to work from a range of exam papers and questions and then to focus in on the various aspects. In this way pupils can understand everything about a topic and learn how it fits in with the rest of the subject as well as the necessary details.

This method has worked very well either way. As part of tuition I make sure my pupils gain confidence & knowledge gently but surely. Generally after some lessons pupils show visible confidence & knowledge that are very satisfying for everyone concerned.
Homework is a MUST no matter sometimes, due to school work, is just a few exercises.
Also every so often pupils have tests on selected topics.

I have also taught on Easter Revision courses for 7 years.

I tend to work from a holistic perspective and stimulate my students to become self-learners. My lessons are concentrated and require active participation. They are usually very effective. I am a fully qualified secondary teacher with a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages (Swansea Metropolitan University).

I also have a B.A hons and M.A hons in English as a foreign language.

I teach pupils aged from 11 to 18 and have been a private tutor (to adults and children) for over five years.

Tutoring Approach:
During the first meeting I like to spend a little bit of time discussing what your requirements are so that I can fully answer your needs.

I have been a private tutor for over 5 years and have never had any negative experience.
