Teaching is my vocation; I am an excellent French and Spanish Teacher. I was trained at Kingston College and have a large experience with children, young adolescents as well as adults. I am a fluent native Spanish and French Lecturer. I have a UK teaching and lecturing diploma with an extensive practice in the UK as well. I give Spanish and French linguistic lectures, Culture and Diversity immersion programs. My academic formation is Anthropology and Linguistic as well as Historian. I am also certified in forensic court translation (3 languages) and I have worked frequently in this area. With English the aim is to provide a personal conversation led approach to learning supported by written exercises to confirm the rules. All training is geared to the needs of the individual and there is no set approach.

I specialise in preparing students for GCSE chemistry exams and A-level chemistry exams. Until January 2011, I was a Science Teacher at Plymstock School in Plymouth where I had been the Head of Chemistry for 10 years. Previously I had worked at Kelly College Independent School as a Chemistry Teacher and the Head of Lower School Science. Since January 2011, I have been self employed as both a Professional Tutor and also a Professional Drummer! I love both aspects of my self-employment and look forward to helping many more students achieve exam success.

Teaching Experience:

I use revision notes and PowerPoints to aid understanding but try to focus the learning around past paper questions and answers as much as possible.

I am an experienced and enthusiastic tutor with a passion for learning. I have over 8 years experience as a maths and science tutor. I studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University and subsequently completed an MSc in the History and Philosophy of Science at the London School of Economics. I am fascinated by the natural world and by scientific enquiry. When I'm not teaching or learning I enjoy foreign cinema, playing squash and strumming the guitar.

Teaching Experience:
After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked as a full-time teacher at d'Overbroeck's Sixth Form College, Oxford. I have previously worked in a college as a supported learning assistant working mainly with dyslexic students onna variety of subjects.
I volunteered as part time help at Luddington and Garthorpe primary school in North Lincolnshire. I help when I am not busy, this is experience for me as it is something I am considering as a career path for the future, I help with the children, and I help the class teachers when their TA's are ill or busy elsewhere, I have also answered the phones when the receptionist hasn't been in.
I have also been volunteering at John Leggott College in the media department as an assistant to the staff and the young adults, this has given me more of an idea of what it is like to teach older children and a possible career choice. I help them with their pre and post production and general help through out the lessons.

My approach to tutoring is research what they're doing in school and asking them how they learn - weather it being visual, auditory or kinesthetic - I myself prefer a practical/kinesthetic - "hands on learning" as you can learn whilst doing things. I have been teaching English as a second language in Malaga Spain for 5+ years.

In Malaga, Spain there is a shortage of learning opportunities and availability of English tutors. I recognised that as a native speaker I could dedicate my spare time to tutoring students who wished to improve their conversational English. I taught on average 8-10 students a week. I have always had a profound love of literature and language, and every career decision I have made has revolved around that. After several years teaching English at a boarding school near Oxford, I have returned to London to be closer to theatre and to pursue a few creative projects alongside much private tutoring.
