Personal Description:
Do you wish to master Chinese in the quickest possible time? As a highly qualified and professional native-Chinese speaking tutor, I'll show you how!

I have excellent teaching skills demonstrated by 10 years of teaching experience as a university English language lecturer and Chinese language tutor.

Back in China, I worked as a lecturer in English as a second language and was awarded as Excellent Teacher in School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Xi'an University of Technology.

I started tutoring English speakers in Chinese in the UK in 2010. I teach Chinese in a professional, effective and innovative way so that mastering the target language will be full of fun, stimulation and excitement, and more importantly, achieving the learners' objectives in the shortest time possible.

I offer face to face or/and on-line tuition service, including -
• 1-hour FREE trial session
• Free 24/7 out-of-class support, advice and guidance available
• Designing a tailor-made strategic teaching plan to maximize the efficacy of learning

Having been working in UK-based multi-cultural companies during 2012-2015 as China Business Development manager, consultant and translator/interpreter, I'm also able to help business people with Business Mandarin, and especially the relevant business affairs and knowledge in China.

Teaching Experience:

Having been a university English language lecturer and Mandarin instructor makes me a versatile teacher. I've taken the opportunity to instruct a wide variety of students from various backgrounds and with varied learning purposes.

Here are a few testimonials (one is abridged) from my tutees -

" If it wasn't for Ning and her constant support and patience, I would have probably given up on learning Chinese at university!

I have gone from not being able to string a Chinese sentence together to achieving a 2:1 on my final exam, all in the space of 6 months.

Ning goes above and beyond to ensure that learning material is tailored to individual needs of the student, suiting all abilities. Her supporting and encouraging nature makes learning much more enjoyable and I highly recommend her to anyone. "

- Aishia (18 years)

" Ning rekindled my love of learning Chinese and she was friendly and really easy to chat to, and I really enjoyed my lessons with her.

She never made me feel stupid if I found something difficult. She was always really well prepared for my lessons and told me what I needed to do and to bring, and she always had everything that she needed.

She had loads of good ideas to help me learn. She worked really hard to help me do well.

I got an A in my GCSE Chinese after I'd been learning with Ning for only six months; a year later I got 266/300 in HSK3 and 77/100 in HSKK."

- Delilah

''Ning has been brilliant at taking my daughter through GCSE Mandarin.

She made a careful plan to take my daughter through the syllabus, taught her really well and thoroughly, and is very supportive and encouraging. I could trust her completely.

My daughter so much enjoyed learning Mandarin with Ning that she has decided to continue lessons with her to take a higher qualification in Mandarin. "

- Kate (Delilah's Mum)

'' I have been studying mandarin with Ning for the past year. I am an advanced mandarin speaker having studied since 2007 - both in China and in the UK.

I rate Ning's teaching extremely highly and would be delighted to recommend her to other fellow students ...

... I've had approximately 10 mandarin tutors since I started learning mandarin and I rank Ning as one of the very best. If you're looking to learn about the Chinese language and culture, then you couldn't go far wrong.  "

- Eleanor

" Holding the attention of my eight-year-old son for any length of time is a feat of Herculean proportion.

How Ning manages to keep him focused for an hour is astonishing and highlights her remarkable gift for teaching.

The lessons strike the perfect balance between being factual and fun, meaning my son happily sits down for his weekly session. I would highly recommend Ning."

- Lucia (Anthony's Mum)

''Ning is a brilliant teacher!

If you get something wrong, she will explain it again. And she is very patient.

I have so much fun during Ning's lessons, I love the flash cards and Ning helps me make my own sentences in Chinese.

She emails me homework every week, this helps me a lot. Because of it, and the fun way she teaches me, is why I am so good at it! "

- Joe (9 years)

" From a parent's point of view, our son looks forward to his lessons with Ning and is totally engaged during them.

Ning has given him the confidence to communicate with Chinese speakers, when the opportunity arises.

We are so proud of him, due to the fact that in a short period of time, Joe has been able to hold brief conversations in Chinese.''

- Brennan & Beatriz (Joe's Parents)

Tutoring Approach:

I'm able to utilise my analytical mind, across-the-board knowledge and understanding in Chinese language, extensive teaching skills and experience to implement comprehensive, systematic and constructive teaching approaches to effectively support students' needs, integrate multi-cultural teaching units, create and design curriculum and learning materials, make accurate assessments and offer positive encouragement and keep students fully focused and motivated; as a consequence of this, the leaners' targets can be obtained in good time.

Tailor-made lessons provided for all age groups: beginners, intermediate and advanced learners. My tuition involves traditional classroom and on-line activities, assisting and supporting students in their academic, business purposes or personal interest -
• Academic Mandarin (GCSE, A Level and HSK)
• General Mandarin
• Business Mandarin
• Mandarin for Kids
• Tourism Mandarin
• Survival Mandarin
• Chinese business culture and etiquette
• Field trip and workshop (Chinese cuisine, cooking, media, travel, music, film, Beijing opera, tea culture, folk art, business negotiation and shopping & eating out etc.)

One of the effective ways I assist my students is by developing and presenting thorough and stimulating lesson plans that facilitate all learning styles. I research, locate and incorporate a variety of resources to accommodate students' needs and I integrate literature, workshop, classroom activities and technology to ensure the students are able to comprehend and retain the concepts of the target language.

Also working as a teacher in both Chinese and English has given me a deep insight into differences between the languages, esp. in the features of word uses and structures, hence it allows me to explain explicitly similarities and differences of the mother tongue and target language to the learners so as to gain the best results of learning.

Personal Description:
I studied Philosophy at the University of Cambridge, where I was awarded the Craig Taylor Prize for the best exam results in my year. I then spent a year at Harvard as a Frank Knox Fellow before completing an MPhilStud in Philosophy at Birkbeck College, University of London. I am currently a PhD student at the University of Sussex, but based in London.

My specialist areas are political philosophy, epistemology, critical theory, and Wittgenstein. I can also help with reading German philosophical texts, and issues of translation.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a tutor since 2010 and enjoy teaching all ages and levels. Most of my students have been university and A-level students, including mature students.

As well as teaching privately I have been an Associate Tutor at Birkbeck College, teaching BA seminar courses in political philosophy, ethics, and epistemology.

Tutoring Approach:

My aim is always to make the subject comprehensible and engaging while challenging students to think for themselves.

Here's what some of my former students said:

'Koshka really helped me to grasp philosophy. Rather than simply training me to pass exams, she encouraged me to develop a thorough understanding of the subject, primarily through detailed reading and Socratic discussion. The tutorials aided me in achieving consistently high grades (90%+ UMS in every module), and compelled me to study philosophy at university.' (Alex, mature A-level student)'

'Koshka was very helpful and patient, and explained everything very clearly. She also provided extra reading that allowed me to gain a deeper understanding (and enjoyment) of my subject. Not only did I learn a lot from our sessions, they were also fun and interesting.' (Ruby, AS-level)

'Koshka had a very comprehensive and thorough approach to the course and was also a relatable and easy to talk to individual. Her out of lesson dedication to marking essays and then detailed run through of them was invaluable to my personal development. Finally, her extensive knowledge and passion for philosophy definitely went some way to helping me feel the same way about the subject.' (Vyshnan, A-level)

BA tutorial evaluations: 'Brilliant essay feedback. Great paper recommendations'; 'Very engaging'; 'Very good at explaining things';'Much enjoyed'.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced teacher with qualified teachers status, who has taught in England and abroad. I have been helping children build up the gaps in their learning level since 1994. I am able to discover various learning styles to help children improve their learning. I am currently a supply teacher teaching in Hertfordshire and in Luton. Due to my vast Experience in teaching in various schools as a supply teacher I have an in depth knowledge of the national curriculum for maths and English for key stage 1 and 2 , from years reception to year 6 and have always received positive feedback from students parents. I am a mother of two teenage boys. i now only have tuition sessions in my home. so if you are willing to travel to me i am happy to help .

Teaching Experience:

I have a BA.Ed from abroad and soon after graduation I taught English and literature for two years in a secondary school(year 8 and 9). In 2005 after I gained my PGCE primary and have been teaching in primary schools since then. , covering years 1 to 6 in various schools in london . I now teach in stevenage and surrounding towns. I have been a supply teacher and Tutor for over 10 years .

Tutoring Approach:

when teaching children on a one to one basis, I usually start by giving them a general assessment on their reading and problem solving skills. After this I am able to plan for each child on an individual basis on how to help them improve their levels and fill gaps in their learning. Due to the large number of students that i help i am not able to travel to children any longer so children come to my home for tuition but only in special circumstances do i travel to a child's home on Sundays . I normally teach the children for an hour and then give them homework for further skill practice. I also help children and parents draw up a reading and learning timetable which is very easy to follow, this has proven to be very effective in the past, in helping children become independent learners. My approach is to be friendly but professional and help children relax in order to enjoy learning.

Personal Description:
I first became interested in teaching through working as a private tutor with GCSE students, something I am doing since I finished my graduation, training to become a leader in the process. This made me realise I enjoyed working with the people in their learning process, and college experience confirmed tutoring/teaching as a career choice. My subsequent one year PGCE has served further to fire my enthusiasm and prepared me effectively to take responsibility for learners.

I have completed PGCE , a Masters and a BSc in Economics, level 5 Mathematics in Mechanics, numeracy level 1 & 2, Diploma in Computer Science & Application and I am a Certified Internet Webmaster Associate.

Teaching Experience:

I am teaching for last 5 years. In addition, I worked as a Teaching Assistant over two years.I have been privately tutoring primary and secondary maths, A level maths and Economics on one-to-one basis since 2003. My academic education and teaching practices have given me a good understanding of the curriculum and of what makes effective teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I make a conscious effort to ensure I am not just catering for visual learners like myself, but try to see lessons through other learners' eyes. For example, to introduce pictograms to numeracy entry level class, I got the learners to create 'human pictograms' arranged by name length, pets, eye colour, etc. and then transferred that information as pictograms to the board. Kinaesthetic learners were thereby catered for in the physical movement and manipulation, visual learners in the pictograms created on the board and audio learners as we discussed and interpreted the graphs.

I have in particular come to understand the value of sharing learning objectives and success criteria with students. Knowing exactly what is expected and how they can achieve allow learners to focus more clearly on tasks.

I feel it is important to make learning interesting and creative, and one way to achieve this is using real life example; this allows learners to explore and understand situations and express feelings, thoughts and emotions. An example of how I have successfully used real life situation was with a GCSE class, working out the area of the classroom to decide the correct amount of carpet needed for the classroom. I gave the students measuring tape to measure the length and width of the classroom. They were incredibly enthusiastic and threw themselves into the task. They found this a fun, enjoyable and worthwhile learning experience, which enabled them to better understand the situation and empathise with those concerned.

Personal Description:
FIRST LESSON FREE - This is an opportunity for me to assess your level and expectations and for you to decide if you are happy with me and my teaching methods.

As a speaker of four languages I know what it feels like to be a student as well as a teacher, so I like to ensure my lessons are not boring but also not just fun and no learning development happens.

I have a purpose designed classroom in my house, with whiteboards etc and a wealth of teaching material, a real teaching environment encourages good learning.

Teaching Experience:

2001-2005 Qualified as a Mandarin teacher at the Taipei Langauge Insitute and taught people from the UK, USA, Japan and numerous other countries.

2006-date Having moved to the UK I have taught at BBC Worldwide, London Conversation Piece, Basingstoke Queen Mary College, as well as numerous one to one classes for adults and children of all levels from holiday conversations, academic like GCSE & A Levels and professional usage such as legal, museums etc.

In August 2015 I travelled to Beijing to undertake further teacher training at the Beijing Language & Culture University, as I feel it is important to not become complacent and look to learn new methods and techniques.

Tutoring Approach:

Every student is different so whilst my all classes cover the basics, they all are developed to personally meet your requirements and expectations.
I use various teaching methods, such as role play, newspapers, television episodes, even a trip to Chinese restaurant as well as a variety of text books and mock tests.
I will explain the grammar and how culture effects the language.
I speak with the standard correct Chinese pronunciation and use both simplified and traditional characters and even classical.
It is important to me that you both enjoy the classes but also see your Chinese develop.
Naturally lessons will cover, talking, reading, writing, listening

Personal Description:
Hello, I am 21, live in Hull and have been playing the drums for around 5 years. I am currently studying Music Performance at university and have just finished my first year in Bristol. I have lots of experience playing live with various artists and bands. I play many styles and appreciate all music as an art. I mainly play pop, rock and metal but am well grounded in jazz, latin, reggae, drum and bass, blues, hip hop and funk.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience teaching; I started off doing it voluntarily to assist friends but the interest grew and I began getting more and more into it teaching from my home on my acoustic kit. I keep growing as a player and as a teacher.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very passionate about teaching as I believe a good player doesn't make a good teacher. I believe in breaking things down to the simplest level to give the student the best foundation possible. I teach everything from beginner to advanced, all in accordance to want the student wants mostly, then I will create an appropriate plan for he/she. Many students (myself included) have been left disappointed by the lack of passion shown by teachers in whatever subject, which is why I wanted to start teaching in the first place

Personal Description:
Hello, I am a GB skeleton athlete currently on a sabbatical from my job as an exercise physiologist. My expertise is in sport science, specialising in physiology which I have a MSc degree from Loughborough University. I am living in Bath again (I did my first degree here) in order to train full-time for skeleton, with the goal being to compete at the Olympic Games in 2022.

I have plenty of ambition, drive and determination and love to inspire people to work hard to achieve their goals. So far I have achieved all the goals I set for myself since school e.g. studying at university, working in elite sport.

I studied maths, english, science, history, geography, P.E., textiles and French for GCSE and got A and A* grades. At A level I studied biology,P.E. and history and received AAB respectively. I have a upper second class honours BSc in sport and exercise science from The University of Bath and a first class MSc in exercise physiology.

Teaching Experience:

I was a class tutor at Loughborough College for three months after graduating from Loughborough University. This involved working closely with pupils to assist them with their school work across a number of subjects at GCSE level.

Part of my role as a sport scientist was to educate athletes on a number of subjects which would improve their performance. This involved constructing and delivering presentations to groups of adults as well as GCSE/A level students. I also regularly worked on a one to one basis to educate athletes on ways they can improve their performance. In both instances I always use examples to demonstrate the point I am making and improve understanding.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a supportive tutor, who encourages students to find the solutions to their problems. I aim to facilitate learning, not spoon feed. I'm also keen to focus on the bigger picture in order to motivate students, for example reminding them that the work is important so they can pass their exams to get into university. I find having a goal is a strong motivator and also the practise of setting goals puts students in good stead for the future.

I take a kind and patient approach to tutoring. I like to encourage students to adopt a growth mindset whereby they do not fear failure and value hard work and effort.
