Home visits are possible with in 15 miles from SM6 area and can consider other areas with prior negotiations.

Tutoring Approach:

I follow the syllabus provided by the exam board, to teach each topic. Then I go through past papers, explain how to answer the questions. I expect students to do the papers at home and give to me for marking. I go through their answers and explain how to answer the questions. My teaching approach is, first I assess the student's current knowledge regarding the subject and thereafter I pitch accordingly. I use simple language and current examples in explaining the theories and concepts. Also I give and discuss past papers with the student and guide them in the correct method in answering a question. I give home work from selected past papers. I prepare a simplified handout for every lesson and this handout is the final reading material for the examination. Sometimes I dictate short notes during the lesson and my teaching sessions are interactive, where the students are encouraged to ask questions and express their current knowledge about the subject. At present there are number of satisfied students. I am unable to disclose their identities with out prior permission from them. My first lesson is free of charge. So that the student will have a chance to judge my approaches to teaching, subject knowledge, my mannerism etc.

Personal Description:
I am a teacher with over thirty years' classroom experience in both Primary and Secondary schools. I have taught in UK state schools as well as overseas.

Throughout my years in schools both home and abroad I have tutored Primary, Secondary and Adult students as a vocation as well as to supplement my income.

Teaching Experience:

My experience includes 12 years teaching English and History to GCSE and A level in the UK secondary system and eight years teaching the same subjects to the same levels in international schools in Italy, Egypt and Kenya.

During this time I have always had a number of students on my books for home tuition to provide extra help in Primary, Secondary and University level subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

In my long experience of tutoring I have seen the benefits in aptitude and confidence that pupils can gain from one-to-one tuition. In the unique one-to-one situation the teacher can inspire pupils to begin at last to see the relevance of subjects they find difficult to grasp in a high-pressure environment like school.

Once the pupil sees the need to master the subject I take them on to the next stage where they can undertake tasks which build up their confidence. It is also a means for me to ascertain what the pupil's strengths are and to build on them.

The next stage is the slightly more painful one of identifying weaknesses and gauging the pupil's awareness of them and motivation to put them right. Once the student and I have agreed which areas need improvement we use lesson time to extend competence and skills by undertaking thinking and written assignments that allow the student to develop these.

Any homework set will advance and reinforce the skills the pupil has been encouraged to bring to the lesson.

Personal Description:
I am a native speaker of Turkish. I've been living in England since 1997 and completed my Computer Science degree in 2006 at Aston University / Birmingham. For my final year project I developed computer program to translate between Turkish and English. The program was build using a dictionary, set of rules listed in a pattern and a logic to extract meaning using the dictionary and the pattern. Turkish is morphologically a complex language. However complexity can be simplified by learning the patterns, and then enjoy making sentences using logic. I find learning a language exciting myself and after my degree started to learn German. Through listening to cd's of Michael Thomas. It was fascinating to see that he was using the same technique to teach couple of his students. During the learning process it was their logic that was being challenged more than their memory of words and phrases. I think it is ok to 'cheat' and look up words that you don't remember. Once you start making sentences using particular words and you are comfortable with the sentence you will also remember the word due to the pattern you have built in your mind. Regardless of our individual learning styles, I think building patterns is a more permanent and easy way of learning than trying to memorise everything.

Teaching Experience:

I ve been giving private tuition in Birmingham, and now I would like to continue this in Bournemouth. I am currently doing a research about effective ways of teaching Turkish. I am interested in teaching Turkish because I enjoy teaching, also the experience will support my project. My ultimate aim is to write and record my own teaching materials for learning Turkish

Tutoring Approach:

I developed my interest in languages through my degree. I am competent in teaching, and I will adopt my technique based on the individual's learning style. Most native English speaking people in the UK finds agglutinative languages difficult to comprehend, as they attempt to 'understand' by comparing them with their own or some other European language. I believe that I can provide techniques that will overcome this difficulty. I enjoy teaching Turkish because I believe that I can understand how different individuals perceive and learn. I find it challenging and rewarding to be able to connect with people, deliver information the way they will appreciate, and see people enjoying the experience of learning.

Personal Description:
Arts enthusiast with incisive critical engagement skills. Able to draw from a wide range of critical theories and approaches when analysing arts and performance related texts. A big fan of film, theatre, visual art, music, literature, comics, football and comedy.

Testimonial from Nadia:

"Dean's tuition was fantastic! He is patient but he still pushed me to do my best. I am much more confident writing about drama and theatre. Dean made sure I understood everything we talked about which meant I didn't forget it in my exam and I ended up getting an A!"

Tutoring Approach:

I like to spread a love and enthusiasm for arts and humanities subjects with an emphasis on the potential for personal as well as academic development. I am an adaptive tutor skilled at relating the work to the student's own experiences, ensuring they establish their own academically applicable opinions and approaches. I'm a meticulous problem solver and am able to pinpoint areas that need attention, particularly in essay and presentation work. Personal Description:
After finishing my A level in Weymouth, Dorset, I then went to Essex University in Colchester to study Science. Ater getting my first degree, I then decided to do a masters Degree in Chemistry and passed. In my University days, I have always loved Maths and Science and in my first year at University, I did Physics, Chemistry and Maths. I have a very high understanding of Maths because of my passion for Maths and I have solve several problems in Maths, Physics and Chemistry up to A level. I am very passionate about numbers and anything that has numbers in it, I will solve. My chemical knowledge is absolutely unbelievable. I have been taeching Chemistry and Maths longer than A level Physics but I teach A level Physics in my current School. If you really want to be tutored by someone who understand and know how to teach, then, contact me and I will get you the best possible grade in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

Teaching Experience:

I actually started teaching as soon as I left University in 1993. In those days, I did not have teaching qualification. I then decided to get some experience outside education. After gaining experience in Industries, I decided to get back into teaching and took my teaching qualification. I am now a fully qualified teacher and then started teaching again in September 2007. My strength in teaching has always been on a one to one basis. I do teach in a Grammar School at the moment but I always prefer to teach on a one to one basis because I enjoy helping individual student's as each student's requirement is different and you can't properly help individual student's in a class of 30 students. I am very passionate about teaching and devote a lot of my time teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring style is quite unique. Being a school teacher myself, I now understand why it is so difficult for students to understand the subjects that I teach. I do not believe in pressurising students to learn. I prefer a much more relaxed atmosphere whereby the students needs and requirement is the absolute paramount. Style of teaching is also important and how you come across to the students is also very important. Investing into new ways and new ideas in order to aid students understanding is also very important. When you come to me for tutoring, I will not move unto another topic until I am fully satisfied that you have understood the topic that we are doing at the moment and that you can answer questions on those topics that we have done comfortable and confidently.

Personal Description:
In July 2013, I graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London, undertaking a BMus (Hons) Music degree (2.1) with a principle study in singing (1st). I took two gap years before going to university to gain experience in the music and drama fields. I have studied modules at university ranging from Bach to Beethoven and Sibelius to Weill.

Teaching Experience:

In my two gap years I was a gap student at Bedales Schools for a term and then was invited back to cover a member of music staff. Responsibilities included teaching 8-13 year old mixed pupils classroom music as well as supervising music practices. I also tutored pupils through grade 5 theory achieving merit and distinction grades.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very laid-back attitude to teaching and will teach you in similar ways that I have been taught. I understand totally that some pupils need several ways of explaining things so bring a variety of teaching methods to my lessons. I make teaching interesting and engaging and always try to relate the subject to the pupil. I have been very fortunate to learn under some inspirational teachers and would love to be able to carry on their enthusiasm to other students.

A-level, advanced higher, higher etc

Tutoring Approach:

Simple effective approach. Students need to succeed, I get students through exams as I have good subject knowledge and know how to teach. Students increase in confidence and gain a deeper understanding of chemistry. I teach using Skype and an online application called scribblar, this is really the future of home tutoring and is just as effective as if I am in the room with the student. I have a satisfaction guarentee ie if you are not happy with the service you don't pay.

Personal Description:
Being 18 year old and just finished my A level, I want to pass on the passion as well as the tricks to ace calculating (which you will definitely find useful, having to use your thumb to press the calculator thus slowing down with things will not really help you after all)

Teaching Experience:

I have only taught 3~9 graders, but I think I may as well try approaching GCSE and A level students as well, as a teacher as well as a friend :'>

Tutoring Approach:

Definition and Problem are two factors that cover a lot of what we will be doing. However, I will tear the proposed problems down and we can have a deeper look into what those two were (unexpectedly) obscuring.

Subjects
  • Physics
  • A-Level or Highers (20 p.h.)
  • Maths
