I have also had a lot of experience with children with Special Educational Needs, including Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD and Down Syndrome, during my teaching career where I have held the position of SENCO and through 1-1 work carried out before. Tutoring Approach:

I believe that every child is an individual learner and therefore they need a personal and tailored tutoring experience. As I am working with a large mixture of children every day I am very capable of adapting to their individual needs. Personal Description:
I graduated from King's College, Cambridge in 2009 with a degree in Classics and then completed my PGCE (teacher training) at Queens' College, Cambridge in 2010. I currently supervise Cambridge University undergraduates in Latin and Ancient Greek, and tutor both languages to degree-level standard in London and Cambridge. I tutor in Cambridge during the week and in London on weekends and in school holidays. I'm passionate about Classics and am very proud of my collection of Loebs, which you can see in the background of my photo!

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring Latin and Ancient Greek intensively since 2009, and have now had hundreds of hours of teaching experience. I have taught towards all major public exams in both languages, such as Common Entrance, GCSE, AS, A2, SAT and even BA (i.e. University exams) and am familiar with the entrance processes for a number of independent and grammar schools. I was Head of Latin at a school in Bury St Edmunds for two years (September 2011 to July 2013). Since October 2010 I have been supervising Cambridge undergraduates in Latin and Ancient Greek (colleges so far have included Pembroke, Downing, Homerton, Queens', King's, Murray Edwards, Newnham, Caius, Peterhouse, St John's, Emmanuel and Trinity). I also own and run a private tuition agency, which I set up in 2011, managing a team of eight staff members and over 400 inspirational tutors.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching style is structured and thorough. I start every lesson with a five minute recap of the key content of the previous session, checking how much the tutee remembers. A typical lesson will then consist of a translation, in which I ask the tutee to note down each unknown word as it is encountered and to devise a memory trick which will help them to recall the word in a five minute test at the end of the lesson. Together with the tutee, I will then pick a grammar point which stood out in the translation exercise as requiring the most immediate attention. We will spend five to ten minutes working on that, with the tutee's understanding tested with some reinforcement exercises. At the end of the lesson we will recap all the new vocabulary and grammar which was covered, and I will typically set a manageable 20 - 30 minute homework for the next session based on what was covered in the lesson. Every lesson is of course different, and tailored to the tutee's requirements, but I find this approach works in the vast majority of cases. I consider grammar to be crucially important, but treat it as a means to an end and always emphasise the ways in which it can be usefully applied to translation rather than learned in isolation. I believe that any tutee can excel in Latin and Greek with a little guidance and a decent amount of independent work. Above all, I strive to make my lessons fun and enjoyable. I love my subject and want all of my tutees to love it too.

Personal Description:
I have been a private tutor for 25 years. I really enjoy teaching on a one-to-one basis, because I not only feel that I have and can help people learn skills that they will need for the rest of their lives, but I also get a great feeling of satisfaction when one of my pupils or students either passes an exam or finds that what he/she has learnt during our lessons has helped them in their field of work.
I am a native speaker of English and a qualified EFL/ESL teacher/tutor. I lived in Greece for many years and so
I can help Greek speakers learn English.
I also enjoy teaching Modern Greek as a foreign language as I had to learn this fascinating language from scratch, and so I believe I can help someone who wants to be able to visit Greece or Cyprus to communicate with the local people in their own language.
Moreover, I have branched into the field of proof reading & editing of student dissertations, assignments & essays in all subjects.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English as a Foreign and Second language for 27 years. I have taught all levels of English from Beginners - Advanced levels. I have prepared many students for the Cambridge ESOL exams, such as FCE, CAE, IELTS and CPE. I am also happy to say that I have had many successes in this field. I have also taught all age groups from young children to adult learners. I am a Cambridge ESOL oral examiner, and I believe that this has helped me both prepare students for exam success, but examiner training has also helped me to appreciate the importance of making a student feel relaxed and enjoy this learning experience.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that I have developed a personal, individual style when it comes to tutoring. I consider the tutor-student relationship to be of utmost importance. If a student feels confident and relaxed with his or her tutor then the learning experience is that much easier. Private tutoring allows the tutor to develop a course which is tailor-made for the student's needs. I always try to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible, by introducing a wide variety of material in every lesson, as opposed to just sticking to a text book which can well become boring and unproductive. There are many ways to learn a language or an academic subject, and this is what I try to achieve through my lessons.

Personal Description:
I am 27 years old male from India. I did Engineering from Delhi University and then pursued MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. I am a Math enthusiast right from my childhood days and had scored 99% in my secondary exam. I am going to be here in London for quite some time for an assignment from my firm and, in the mean time, would like to carry on with my two passions, i.e., teaching and mathematics.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching mathematics as a part-time job for last 7 years. I have taken classes for individual students as well as for group of students with levels spreading across primary to secondary classes to preparing students for entrance exams.

Tutoring Approach:

Mathematical understanding influences decision making in all areas of life-private, social, and civil. Mathematics education is a key to increasing the post-school and citizenship opportunities of young people, but today, as in the past, many students struggle with mathematics and become disaffected as they continually encounter obstacles to engagement. I believe if I could make students relate the concepts to real-life scenarios and encourage them to apply their minds they will learn the most. So, the three key principles at work here are:
a) Relating to reality - Increasing engagement
b) Learning by doing
c) Encouragement and Motivation

Personal Description:
My name is Suzanne and I am 39 years old. I have a degree from Oxford University in French and Linguistics and a PGCE from Queen's in Belfast. I am half French and have lived in France and Belgium. I have always loved language-learning and am passionate to communicate to others the benefits of being able to speak another language. It opens our horizons and makes travel abroad much more rewarding. I have a wide range of teaching experience and love what I do.

Teaching Experience:

I taught in secondary schools for five years in Oxford and London. I had classes in French from Key Stage 3 - 5; German at KS 3 - 4 and English at KS 3 and 4. After a break of a number of years to be with my children, I set up as a private tutor and have been running a successful business since 2008. I have done sessions with large and small groups in nurseries and run after-school groups for primary-age children, including families with siblings of different ages. I have tutored all the main exam boards at GCSE and A level for French, as well as 13+ scholarship papers for Independent Schools boards. I have coached adults studying for Open University and worked with many adults of all levels on conversational French and German. I am familiar with the methodology and course material used in schools and am well practised in helping students to fill in gaps and to feel more at ease in these subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to make the sessions as enjoyable as possible, while making sure we maximise the use of time to target the specific skills area. We all learn best when we feel relaxed and motivated. For younger learners, I use a lot of games, songs and stories. When it comes to students, I make sure I find out exactly which areas they are most concerned about and make a plan with them as to how we will work. Building confidence is usually a key area of development. One-to-one lessons are ideal for consolidating grammar points or practising assessment pieces, especially orals in languages. For adults, I take my lead from the preferences of the client, but I like to use cultural material such as music, video and current affairs. I use a wide range of support material and am always looking into new resources. I make sure my lessons are varied and relevant.

Personal Description:
Hello,
my name is Clara and I am a nineteen year old AuPair from Germany.
I am originally from France but I have spent the last fourteen years living in Germany, which means that I grew up speaking both languages and I am fluent in both of them as well.
I have been in the UK for three months now as an AuPair and I would like to fill my free time with tutoring.
Even though I am so young, I am not inexperienced when it comes to tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I have already worked as a tutor in Germany while I was still going to school myself, so most of my "students" were of course quite young (children aged between 10 and 16 years) and half a year ago I did a short internship in a school where I was allowed to teach a whole class some French.
In addition to that, I also have made the experience of teaching piano (only to kids), hiphop dancing and skiing, where I got my first chance to work with adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I grew up with teachers as parents and now I plan on becoming one myself.
Most students learn a foreign language because they have to and not because they are attracted to it.
That makes it a lot harder to learn it, especially for children.
Therefore I think it is important to have someone showing your child by explaining things in the right way, that learning a language is not as hard and boring as it might seem at first.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate of the BA Fine Art Sculpture programme at Wimbledon College of Art, University of the Arts London and the Royal College of Art MA Sculpture programme under the guidance of Professor and artist Richard Wentworth.

I was selected for Anticipation, an exhibition curated by art collector Kay Saatchi, alongside Catriona Warren, former editor of Art Review magazine. Shortly after graduating from Wimbledon College of Art I was selected for inclusion in the Catlin Guide to the 40 important emerging artists in the UK (a publication which was launched at the London Art Fair and I subsequently won the Annual Catlin Art Prize in 2011, selected by curator Justin Hammond and judged by London gallerist Simon Oldfied, curator Julia Royse and art collector Richard Greer.

I am Visiting Tutor at Brit School in Croydon, London and Associate Lecturer at Wimbledon College of Art and Camberwell College of Arts.

In 2012 I was profiled in a University of the Arts London film which charted my progress through art college and my experiences on the London contemporary art scene.

I am passionate about teaching as a reflective practice and value arts education. In my spare time I visit art galleries, read and socialise with friends.

Professor Richard Wentworth CBE:

"I write in fervent support of Russell Hill who is one of the most focussed artists in the current RCA Sculpture Second Year. Russell has an unusual talent for picking up on the embedded intelligence in any material and pushing it several steps beyond its habitual use. On the one hand, this might be seen as the baseline of all sculptural activity, but it also asks questions in exactly the way that we expect of anybody with good `design` intelligence.

I warmly recommend Russell to you.

You will not be disappointed,"

Richard Wentworth CBE

Teaching Experience:

I have previous experience in tutoring Fine Art to Primary, 13+, GCSE, AS Level and A Level. I have held teaching positions at University of The Arts London and Brit School.

Additionally, I regularly give portfolio guidance for students working towards GCSEs, A Levels, and art school/university application, both undergraduate and postgraduate. also provide help with writing personal statements, interview technique, specifically for University of The Arts London and the Royal College of Art

I have extensive experience using Adobe Photoshop. In addition, I am proficient in the majority of traditional sculpture techniques, such as casting, modelling, mould-making, carpentry and metal work.

I take practical art workshops and life-drawing classes in schools and community centres, and I lecture in secondary schools in both Fine Art and English.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach teaching as reflective practice and i strongly believe in feeding forward as appose to feeding back on a client's work. Through guidance and support, I am confident we can achieve your desired outcomes at a comfortable, yet challenging pace.
